We had made a reservation for lunch, but unfortunately the reservation was obviously not entered or not entered correctly. There was still a table available, but we didn't find it particularly comfortable because it was in the middle and on the way to the toilet. The salmon steak and potatoes were very good. The side salad was large and rich, but a bit salty. The onion roast was served medium rare without first asking about the doneness. We found the food to be a bit simply prepared. Since the eye eats too, a small lettuce leaf or something similar would have been nice. Overall, we expected more based on the many good reviews and also a personal recommendation.

Small and nice place near the Olympic park hidden around residential area. Goulash was just amazing, fresh beer, grilled sausages and apple strudel added extra flavors. Thanks for running this place so perfect!

We went there spontaneously this evening and unfortunately everything was full. But we were told that we could come back in 40 minutes, then they would have a place for us and we have to say, the wait was worth it! Great service, delicious food, nice people and a great evening. Very good pork crust roast with bacon cabbage and bread or potato dumplings. Still relatively inexpensive. Quietly located on Winzererstrasse and easy to reach. Addendum: Yesterday on December 15th, 24 I ate and enjoyed a very good and, above all, large pork knuckle (can also be shared between two people) for €18.90. Delicious. Plus a light one from HB.

Thanks to the friendly female server, I was able to eat without a reservation. The Bavarian plate comes with a variety of dishes, so I think you can have this with schnitzel or something else. Hofbrau beer is a must Cards accepted!!

Good local food with good portions. We arrived without a reservation and were lucky to get a table at 6pm. There was a male service manager who helped us find a table within 5 minutes, but did not provide us with a menu. 15 minutes later, we finally got the attention of a female server (she was the only one there!) and cared enough get us the menu. Perhaps they were short staffed. Overall we found the vibes good, but service lacking in attention. The menu was priced decently.

A cozy Bavarian restaurant. One of the few that are left (in Munich). Where else can you be greeted personally by the boss? Good selection of dishes with a changing daily and special menu (e.g. dishes with chanterelles). For children you can order small portions or choose from the children's menu. The taste was (good to) very good and the portion size was just right. The waitresses (male/female) are all very friendly and attentive. A clear recommendation. It makes sense to reserve as it is always busy.

Very good food. Unfortunately, the bill didn't add up in the end and there was one beer and one cola too many on the bill. This was "taken over" by the waiter (according to him from his pocket), but we didn't have the drinks and with a bill of over €300 (there were several people) we wouldn't have been out of money. We hope that the drinks could be canceled and the cellar didn't have to pay for them out of pocket. He wasn't so happy with us after that either. But it wasn't our fault

The Hofbräu has its very good days, but also its bad days. We usually celebrate the food, but sometimes it's a real letdown (over-salted risotto, ultra-thin "steak"). Whatever remains stable is the best side salad ever. As a couple, you can enjoy the cat table, right by the drafty entrance in winter or in the sun on the wall in summer. But the ambience is perfect for introducing your parents to Bavarian cuisine without overwhelming them.

Very rustic restaurant with good and cheap traditional food. There isn't really much to choose from, which I think is a shame, but if you're looking for traditional Bavarian food you'll find it here! The ambience inside is as you would imagine... but time has slowly caught up with it. It's quite comfortable outside in the summer, but you could put a little more effort into the exterior design. The number of seats is limited, you should reserve, unless you go at lunchtime you are usually lucky. Overall, I give my recommendation.

Inconspicuous restaurant located in a residential area at the Olympic Park. The food was very good and you felt well looked after.

Is highly recommended! Food, drink and service top!!

The two of us were spontaneously there on Saturday afternoon without a reservation and got a table relatively quickly despite the restaurant being full. The waiters and waitresses try their hardest and run from A to B and do their best, but unfortunately we had to wait about an hour for the food, which was also really small portions for the price. Example: pork knuckle: as a side dish there was a (!) small dumpling and watery, thin sauce, as well as a tiny portion of sauerkraut (see photo). My companion's schnitzel with fries was only served with ketchup and mayo upon request, which we got ourselves after a long wait. Furthermore, the second round of drinks was completely forgotten. If you looked around, most of the guests felt the same way, especially in the outdoor area. As already mentioned, the service staff try their best and try everything, but are obviously overwhelmed or understaffed. It's a shame.

Unfortunately we didn't have a good day. The food was simple and good as was the service. If everything had taken place in a somewhat normal time, then there would be no criticism from me. I'm a restaurateur myself and I just want to criticize one thing here. If you notice that the ship is sinking, you should not take any more passengers on board for a short while until everything is organized again. Maybe there was a surprising crowd due to the Coldplay concert, but if that's not possible then just make a stop for new guests until it's possible to have normal, good service and cuisine again. An unsatisfied team and guests are not good and that doesn't make up for the great sales in the long term.

Unfortunately, we can neither understand nor understand the many good reviews. We wanted to spontaneously have lunch in this restaurant without a reservation and fortify ourselves for the upcoming Taylor Swift concert. We were initially greeted by a very unfriendly waiter (black hair tied in a braid, full beard, glasses). After we told this waiter our request, we pointed to a table at the far corner with a sigh. There was no bringing to the table. Since the chairs and the table were still wet, they could not be used yet. And then we waited until someone finally came, cleaned the table and handed us the drinks and menu. And we waited, and waited, and were just left standing there by this unfriendly gentleman. There were several eye contacts and hand signals, but no reaction was shown. After waiting 15 minutes and still no one came, we quickly left. Was it because we appeared as a young couple, spoke standard German and came across as perhaps not financially strong? Very disrespectful, this should be one of the reasons! We will definitely avoid this restaurant in Munich in the future, even though we travel to Munich several times a year and the city itself is very beautiful. Even waiters can have a bad day, but such disrespectful behavior is unacceptable!

If I could give more stars I would. The service was simply great. Very friendly, tried very hard to please all guests, despite the heat yesterday! The food was very, very good and no long waiting times. Everything was very clean and tidy. When we are in Munich again, we will definitely come back. Thank you for this lovely experience.

“Really Bavarian,” I would say as a Rhinelander. Delicious hearty food. Very tasty and real. Was the semel dumpling homemade? I guess so. The crusty roast was definitely a hit. The staff.....super nice and accommodating. The prices are affordable in my opinion. None of the meals were at 20 euros. We will come here again. However, parking spaces are difficult to come by.

The service is very good! Yesterday I ordered a salad because I was passing by on business. When it was served, I realized that I didn’t have time to eat it, so I asked the waiter to save it, and of course I paid for it💰. After finishing my work, I returned to the restaurant. The kitchen warmed up the cheese for me👍. The service was really good!

Unfortunately, I have to say that a lot went wrong during our visit. I ordered roulade with red cabbage as it was on my menu, unfortunately only the roulade with dumpling arrived. I was then told that it wasn't on the map, but after checking it was discovered that it was on the map. The kitchen just ran out of red cabbage. Unfortunately for me it was a big disappointment because the sauce on the roulade wasn't particularly tasty either. (More reminiscent of sauerbraten sauce) I also ordered a soup, but unfortunately it was completely lost. Unfortunately there isn't much choice for children here either. (Just dumplings with sauce)

Dined in. We walked from Olympia Park and it was a beautiful time. Easy street parking nearby. Food was amazing. It was busy, so server was very nice but they seemed understaffed. Beautiful terrace and inside decor was cozy. Seat cushions were a very nice touch. Worth visiting if in the area!
