An amazing meal, with great beer and friendly staff. Highly recommended, it's busy so book in advance or go early.

We received a wonderfully warm welcome, excellent advice, and even some kitchen recommendations. The food was delicious and prepared quickly. We started with the pancake soup and liver dumpling soup – both excellent! For the main course, we had the veal knuckle and rump roast – delicious, and the portion was more than generous. Then I was recommended a dark draft beer – it was so refreshing!! If we're ever in Munich again, we'll definitely go back! The service was incredibly friendly 🤗

The service was very friendly and they gave us great advice. The food was absolutely delicious. The price was reasonable. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Anyone who loves authentic Bavarian cuisine should definitely eat here. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

We first visited on the first Saturday evening of Advent. The restaurant was very busy, so we decided to wait for the next available table. A very good decision! The food was so delicious that we immediately reserved a table for the following evening. Our second visit was also excellent. The staff was very friendly.

Very disappointing. I ordered fish with potatoes. The fish: tiny. Potatoes: just one!!! And for that, €22.50. Absolutely outrageous. As if potatoes were so expensive that they couldn't at least add two or three. I was still hungry afterward. The food, atmosphere, and service were otherwise great.

We were able to reserve a table by phone at very short notice (and on a Saturday evening with a Bayern Munich home game 😉), which made us very happy. Add to that the friendly and efficient service, the delicious food in an authentically rustic restaurant – what more could you want? Highly recommended if you're looking for Bavarian food a little outside the old town!

Our favorite German restaurant in Munich. Excellent food, very friendly and helpful service, and very reasonable prices. Plus, the atmosphere is welcoming and authentic. Perfect for a stroll through Olympiapark followed by delicious Bavarian dishes.

We went during the week and it was sparse, but there were clearly many reservations – it's probably busier and more atmospheric in the evenings. The pork knuckle was very good – Schweinshaxe €19, the Munchner schnitzel with mulled wine was excellent – ​​the schnitzel, a Polish pork chop smeared with horseradish, came with fries and a large salad. The burger was also very good. The restrooms were clean, and the service was very friendly.

We had an excellent time. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. Particularly with our little children. The menu is only in German but the staff knows English and was helpful. Everything else ordered was seasoned perfectly. The hamburger and the Gordon blue were extremely tasty.

We didn’t have a booking/reservation but they let us in anyway. Food was 4/5, decent feed. The service was 5/5.

The food and service are absolutely top-notch; the Kaiserschmarn is the best I've ever had—I highly recommend everyone try it. Reservations aren't necessary, but they're definitely the better choice. Unfortunately, parking is limited (exception: Olympiapark, where you pay and have to allow for a bit of time).

We were here for the first time today. Definitely not the last! The service is friendly and prompt, the owner attentive, the restaurant is quaint, and the food is super delicious and more than plentiful. The price/performance ratio is also good. I was in the area on business and looking for somewhere to have lunch. As a northerner, my heart leapt: This is what I imagine a Munich restaurant to be. Great atmosphere, great food, friendly people. And absolutely reasonable prices.

We walked in without reservation but the gentlemen with shaved head managed to fit us in on a table based on the understanding it needed to be vacated by a reservation time which we accepted. A pretty lively place and plenty of people eating there which is a good sign. Hofbrau beer on offer which is nice. Food was nice on the whole, the French fries were of a frozen variety which I’ll let off as it’s not their speciality. The side salad is a nice touch on offer which was appreciated. I only mark it down one star as the blonde lady working tonight who was very friendly towards other people was very cold towards us. We asked for the bill and had no acknowledgement. Whether it’s a racial thing or not I don’t know but makes you wonder. It was only until the other gentleman came back who actually got it for us and we left him a tip as he tried his best with limited English.

It was simply fantastic. There's really nothing more to say. The food was excellent, the service even more so, and the speed with which the food arrived on the table was simply incredible. It was truly unusually fast; it seemed as if the restaurant had been waiting for us rather than us waiting for them. I highly recommend the onion roast beef, the chocolate cake, and especially the Kaiserschmarrn. Definitely worth another visit if I'm ever in Munich again. Truly top-notch!

I've been there three times. The food was unfortunately inedible. We left most of it back each time. Prices are okay for Munich. It's very loud inside, so we could hardly have a conversation. The waiters are okay.

A very decent Munich schnitzel at very reasonable prices. The restaurant has a pleasant and quiet neighborhood atmosphere with many regulars and little noise. Located near Hohenzollernplatz, it's not exactly in the city center; you have to make a point of coming here. If you want to experience authentic pub culture without the tourist trappings, this is a gem with character and no fuss.

The food was quite good and filled me up, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. The waitress, a middle-aged woman who served our group, was extremely rude towards us. We got a table for five on the restaurant's terrace. The waitress practically threw the menus at us without saying a word. When we were ready to order, she came to our table and just stood there silently. We placed our food orders, and she walked away with a sour look on her face. She didn’t even bother to ask if we wanted anything to drink, so we didn’t get a chance to order beverages. The food arrived, and again, she served it silently without saying a word and walked off. After we had finished eating, we asked for the bill. She came with the receipt and once again said nothing, just stared at us rudely. I paid in cash—there was no option to pay by card. At least when I handed over the money, she managed to say “thank you.” The food was good, but overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. We observed her service to German regulars, and it was significantly better. Apparently, she doesn’t like foreign customers, which is a shame. So if you’re a foreigner, I’d advise against dining here. I don’t know how it’s possible that this person is still employed, especially considering the restaurant has already received multiple negative reviews about her and her customer service skills.

I made this Google account just to write this single review. Food was pretty good, had enough to fill my stomach. HOWEVER, the customer service was atrocius!!! The waitress who served us was very very rude. She looked at us in disgust all the time. She didn't say anything when she came to serve us. She just waited and looked at us lowly until we said something ourselves. She only said a couple words to us, but those words were spoken in a very rude manner. Maybe all this is because we are foreigners, but who knows. I've read many comments about this same waitress, but it seems like nothing has been done yet. Never again. Never. EVER.

Today, August 15th, after a long day in Munich, we arrived here hungry – and were happily satisfied. The portions weren't huge, but just right and, above all, absolutely delicious (a picture-perfect schnitzel!). Friendly service, a cozy atmosphere – we'd love to come back!

Many thanks to Anastasios for the excellent service – warm and energetic, he left a lasting impression on us. They have the best Munich schnitzel and the best ribs here, much tastier than the Berlin branch!

I waited an hour for a schnitzel. 👍 When it finally arrived, an angry, middle-aged waitress quickly took it away and gave it to another table of Germans who had ordered after us. We were stunned. This was such racism! After an unknown amount of time, the angry waitress finally slammed my schnitzel on the table and stormed off. But when she served the Germans, she kept smiling and saying "Gut Appetit." Maybe seeing foreigners triggers her alter ego. Most surprising, she even asked if she wanted a 5% or 10% tip when the bill came. Was this a compliance test? In short, I don't recommend anyone with a conscience to eat here. If you absolutely want to eat here, you need to bring proof of ancestry to prove you're 100% German. Anyone with impure ancestry (like Asians or Jews) will be treated differently.❤️

The food is mediocre Bavarian fare. Unfortunately, the waitress wasn't having a good day. She was very rude to us and others, and sometimes even forgot things (like the drinks) – what a pity! At the end of our meal, she made a stupid comment about the tip we'd just given, which really made us wonder why people had to be so rude. We won't be coming back.

The fresh chanterelle mushrooms with bread dumplings from the seasonal menu (August 2025) drown in the mild cream sauce. I missed the spicy flavor of the chanterelles. The large bread dumpling was okay. The Kaiserschmarren with raisins was truly delicious. The dough was rather firm, almost coated in sugar, and the raisins had a bite. Our friends ordered a portion without raisins, which lacked some flavor; perhaps a touch of cinnamon or lemon zest would have rounded it out.

Friendly service, great food – my favorite restaurant in Munich I was there again yesterday – this time with a friend and a small child – and, as always, I was thrilled. The service was incredibly child-friendly, attentive, and warm. The food: outstanding! Fresh, lovingly prepared, and simply delicious. The music evenings at Oberwiesenfeld are also a special recommendation – cozy, atmospheric, and a real highlight in the Munich restaurant calendar. For me, it's quite clear: one of the best restaurants in Munich. I've been there countless times and have never been disappointed. A place to feel good – for all ages.

Very nice restaurant with good food. The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is nice. The portions are a bit small, but for me it was perfect.

The roast pork with cabbage was really good. The cabbage wasn't served separately as a salad, as is often the case, but rather cooked in the gravy.

We had the cheeseburger and a Käsespätzle, I haven't had such a good burger since my dad's long ago! They actually have flavor and I was so happy. My husband's Käsespätzle was also the best we ever had. It is our first time in Munich, but this will be one of the reasons to come back! The portions are huge, the beer is awesome, the prices are good and the attention is very nice.

Plates still hadn't been cleared after 25 minutes, and the waiter didn't ask if the food was tasty. Our request for a menu was answered after repeated requests, but no one came to take our dessert order. Unfortunately, the service was very poor.

Great! We celebrated our small wedding at the Hofbräu am Oberwiesenfeld in December 2024. We first discovered the inn quite by chance when we walked in one evening to get something to eat. At that point, the dining room was very full, and we were asked to wait until a table became available. Shortly afterward, we were even offered a free drink to shorten the wait. We wanted to get married in December and quickly decided to ask if the inn could also host weddings, which Mr. Rupp, the manager of the Hofbräu am Oberwiesenfeld, confirmed. He took the time to explain everything to us, and we stayed in touch by phone and email. Mr. Rupp sent us a suggested wedding menu, and we followed his recommendation. The cake was to be delivered on the morning of the wedding day; Mr. Rupp explained that he would, of course, be happy to receive it and keep it for later. After the ceremony, the wedding party arrived at the inn. We had a beautifully set table in the corner, a bit away from the hustle and bustle. Mr. Rupp introduced us to Hannes, the waiter who looked after us. He was always extremely polite and immediately recognized when something was missing from our table or when the wedding guests wanted more drinks or something similar. His service was truly first-class, even though Hannes was also responsible for catering to the "non-wedding guests." The food was extremely delicious, and we lacked nothing. In short, the friendliness and quality of service from Mr. Rupp and Hannes were excellent! Two true restaurateurs who, with heart and soul, gave us an unforgettable time and will hopefully continue to do so for other guests for a long time to come. Thank you so much!

A true Bavarian inn, just as you'd imagine it! Rustic wooden tables and chairs, without over-the-top decoration – simply cozy and authentic. The small vases of real roses on the tables are particularly lovely, creating a loving yet understated atmosphere. The menu is modest but well-thought-out – from classic Bavarian cuisine to the popular burger, there's something for everyone. What's particularly great: some traditional dishes that you won't find everywhere make the menu unique. Anyone looking for honest, down-to-earth inn fare without unnecessary frills will definitely be happy here. A place where you feel at home – a definite recommendation!
