Disappointing experience, beautiful restaurant, but a culinary disaster! Yesterday, November 1st, 2025, we had dinner at the La Turka restaurant with nine adults and one child. Upon entering, the ambiance was immediately appealing: tastefully decorated, cozy, a place where one would naturally want to feel comfortable. The staff was also exceptionally friendly, polite, and attentive—a real compliment to them. Unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of the evening. The food, however, was a huge disappointment and simply unacceptable for the price. We ordered three appetizer platters, one chicken breast with figs, two Peynirli Beyti, and seven mixed grill platters, along with a drink each, and later, coffee and water. No alcohol, no special requests, just a typical family meal. But what arrived next was shockingly poor! The mixed grill, for which one would expect succulent, flavorful meat at a Turkish restaurant, consisted of tiny, dry pieces of meat: a small piece of chicken breast, a tough piece of beef (more of a shred than a piece), and a lamb chop with hardly any meat on it. The accompanying vegetables were more of a garnish: a few beans, two halved baby potatoes, and some unseasoned vegetables, all crunchy, watery, and completely tasteless. The sauce lay at the bottom of the plate, while the meat and vegetables on top remained dry. The entire dish was simply dry, uninspired, and devoid of any seasoning. A salad with the main course? Not a chance. The Peynirli Beyti was just as disappointing: five small rolls in pastry, very little meat, hardly any sauce, just enough for a few bites. Our 12-year-old wasn't satisfied and had to order İçli Köfte as well, which was also a disappointment: two small, dry pieces with little flavor and almost no sauce. The Piliç İstiridye dish was also a complete disappointment: a small portion, dry grilled, lacking freshness and balance. The appetizer plates, which initially raised hopes, were tiny, mere little dollops of everything, barely enough to dip a piece of bread into. Luckily, there was bread, otherwise it would have been even more frustrating. In the end, we received a bill for over €600 and all went home hungry. This simply shouldn't happen at these prices. You don't expect a luxury meal, but at least decent portions and good taste. Instead, you're left with the impression that corners are being cut in the wrong places—on quality, quantity, and preparation. In short: A nice restaurant with friendly staff, but the food was disappointing, dry, tasteless, and far too expensive. To be honest, we felt ripped off. For this price, you should be able to leave full, satisfied, and with a good feeling; quite the opposite was true. We will not be visiting this restaurant again and unfortunately cannot recommend it to anyone. Anyone who values ​​good food and fair portions should avoid this frustrating experience.

The blonde lady was very rude and sullen. If we had a plan B, we wouldn't have put up with that sullenness and left. The food was, by German standards, less than average, but I can't say it was worth the price. It's worth a try.

Top-notch food. Probably the best Turkish restaurant in town.

We traveled from far away to Düsseldorf and chose this restaurant during our stay based on the many positive reviews. The restaurant itself is visually beautiful and gives an upscale impression both inside and out, so we had correspondingly high expectations for the quality and taste of the food. We chose the set menu, which allows you to sample a variety of dishes. Unfortunately, the overall impression was rather disappointing. The cold appetizers tasted more like an average snack bar—absolutely nothing special. The hot appetizers were also disappointing. The eggplant was completely soaked in oil and therefore very heavy, and the falafel was far too dry. The börek was the only thing that was truly tasty. The chicken on the grill was okay, but the rest of the meat was far too overcooked and therefore tough. The dessert couldn't save the experience either: the baklava was dry and lacking in flavor. Overall, we were truly disappointed—especially considering the restaurant's high standards.

It's a great place. The food isn't just for show; it's delicious. I highly recommend this place.

My team (about 20 people) and I went to eat at La Turka by Seda – full of anticipation due to the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't live up to our expectations. ✅ The ambiance is impressive at first glance – modern, high-quality, and designed with attention to detail. However, the tables are very close together, resulting in a tremendous amount of noise and a lack of privacy. It's not ideal for a seated dinner with larger groups. 🍽️ The service was attentive, but heavily focused on selling set menus. The entire table was arranged around the 3- or 4-course menu (fish or meat). From a gastronomic perspective, this seems like a clear prioritization of ease of handling – less individuality, more efficiency. The food itself was okay, but definitely not a wow factor. The idea of presenting Turkish cuisine in a modern way didn't work for us – the authentic Turkish flavor was lost in the process. • The appetizer plate was disappointing in terms of taste. ``` • The main course and dessert also fell short of expectations. • The only bright spot: the prawns – really well done. 🍷 The wine list is very well done – a nice selection of high-quality Turkish wines, which deserves recognition. 👥 The chef was friendly and approachable. The boss, Seda, on the other hand, seemed very distant, aloof, and self-absorbed. She wasn't a hostess. No greeting, no personal touch – but glasses engraved with her name. A simple "La Turka" would have been perfectly adequate for the concept – the addition "by Seda" seems over-the-top and ego-focused. 📉 Conclusion: No gastronomic highlight, no sense of hospitality, no culinary wow factor. The menu clearly prioritizes sales, which keeps the kitchen simple – but is far from authentic Turkish cuisine and warm hospitality. ❌ I wouldn't eat there again. With a few adjustments, the concept would have potential – unfortunately, the current impression is that the restaurant visit is geared towards effect but disappointing in content.

We were there with a group of 8 people. We made a reservation by phone two hours in advance. Very friendly and accommodating. Best outdoor spot for smokers, but they made a lot of effort and constantly asked if everything was okay or if there was anything missing... Diverse, cultural, and delicious, as you would expect.

Unlike the ramshackle Turkish restaurants found so often in Germany, this is a high-quality, stylish, and clean establishment that truly represents Turkish culinary culture. The flavors rival those of fine restaurants in Istanbul. The gentleman who greeted and served us was very gracious. The Atatürk motifs throughout the place are a source of pride. This is a great choice for both everyday dining and special occasions. Highly recommended.

We discovered La Turka a few years ago at the Culinary Meeting in Mülheim and had a very good meal there again this year, maintaining a high standard over many years.

Gericht 144 Hähnchenbrust: Die Sauce schmeckte weder nach Mango noch nach Chili. Die Möhren / Kartoffeln waren total hart Der Bulgurreis (?) trocken und geschmacklos Gericht 141 Köfte: Die Köfte waren total trocken.  Das Gemüse war auch hier viel zu hart. Die Tomatensauce war gar nicht erst vorhanden. Der Schafskäse nur in Spuren auf dem Teller. Leider schmeckte auch der gereichte Dipp nicht nach frischer Minze.

I think they need to be more attentive. The female attendant at the door was very friendly and polite. Even though we didn't have a reservation, she accepted us and seated us at a nice table. However, the other staff was inattentive. Service was prompt. The menu, which they called a mixed grill platter, partially met our expectations. Apparently, there was a special rakı promotion for the day, and we were offered it. But when we asked for tea after the meal, we were in for a big shock. The tea service was quite unpleasant. I didn't take photos of the food, but I did take photos of the tea. However, to be fair, I won't share the tea photos because I don't want to highlight only the bad ones.

This is a very elegant restaurant. The waiters are well-dressed, extremely polite, and very helpful. The entire place is clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant and comfortable dining atmosphere. On top of that, the food is absolutely delicious — every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. I went to La Turka by Seda for lunch today and I absolutely loved it! I had the chicken with vegetables. It was incredibly delicious, freshly prepared, and perfectly seasoned. You can simply taste the attention to detail. The owner and the entire team were very warm and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. A wonderful atmosphere and a place I'd love to return to. Even stars don't do it, prices are exactly like the logic of ripping off expats in Turkey, Isabey wine is worthless at 36 Euros, Tekirdağ 70 cl raki is 25 Euros, food is better at 89 Euros, third class restaurants have better taste but prices are Izmir Alacati prices. Someone should teach them that the people living here are not stupid people, and even the worst Greek tavern is better.

I gave 3 stars to food, for the sake of "incik". I was in this restaurant for "iftar menu". Menu has "mercimek" soup as start, then main dish i had "incik", as last there were "trilece" and "kadayif muhallebi" as desert. There were cold mezes as share, but size was actually for 1 person. Anyway, soup was ok, even though i found it salty. Incik was well cooked, but i could not say the same thing for "karisik izgara" which my husband had. It was overcooked. Desert was disaster, trilece wasnt a trilece, it was very bad executed "revani", and kadayif muhallebi was eatable but still not restaurant worthy. Service was very bad too, simply every dish served one after another and there was a race to finish them on time. We wanted to keep the plate and waiter said, dessert is coming, he even insested to pick up the plate which hasn't finished yet. And most important think, price... we paid €80+ pro person for this... i recommend simply go somewhere else, save money and have better service. Ps: this restaurant doesn't have child seat at all.... very last big minus.

I was totally thrilled. My friend and I had such a great and enjoyable evening here. I definitely recommend the house's varying fish specialties. I usually don’t write reviews, but after my experience at La Turka by Seda in Düsseldorf, I felt compelled to share. It started off with a simple question – I asked the waiter if the restaurant was halal. He replied quickly, “Yes, it’s halal,” but then mentioned they also served wine. His tone seemed a bit off, and that was the first sign of discomfort. When we sat down, we noticed that the menu was available in both English and German, but the English was difficult to understand. Despite the fact that the waiter was the only person working at the time, he didn’t make an effort to assist us or clarify anything on the menu. We struggled to figure out what to order, but he didn’t offer any support or show any interest in helping us. We placed our order, and after a 20-25 minute wait, the waiter suddenly told us they only accept cash – no card payments. That was a huge surprise, especially in a place like Düsseldorf, where most businesses accept cards. It felt a bit strange and out of place. Cash-only in such a busy city just doesn’t seem to make sense, and it raised some red flags for me. What made it worse was that it felt like we were being treated unfairly. It was as if we were being judged or treated with suspicion for no apparent reason. This wasn’t the case with other customers around us, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. It came across as discriminatory, and it left a bad taste in our mouths. In the end, the service was disappointing, and the way we were treated was uncalled for. We were victims of deeply shocking and racist behavior in this restaurant. While on vacation in Dusseldorf we ordered a meal and waited patiently for over 20 minutes. When we wanted to pay by credit card (the only payment method available to us), the manager refused without any valid explanation. Despite our respect and our efforts to communicate by translating the menu, we were chased out of the establishment in the middle of the night, in the snow, in inhumane conditions. This discriminatory and unacceptable treatment is an example of everything that should never exist in a place that welcomes customers. We hope that this situation will serve to raise awareness among future customers and, above all, to encourage a questioning of the practices and staff of this establishment.

Alors que nous étions en vacances à Londres, nous avons commandé un repas et attendu patiemment plus de 20 minutes. Malgré notre respect et nos efforts pour communiquer en traduisant le menu, nous avons été chassés de l’établissement en pleine nuit, sous la neige, dans des conditions inhumaines. Ce traitement discriminatoire et inacceptable est un exemple de tout ce qui ne devrait jamais exister dans un endroit qui accueille des clients. Nous espérons que cette situation servira à sensibiliser les futurs clients et, surtout, à encourager une remise en question des pratiques et du personnel de cet établissement.

The worst that exists in the entire European Union. We got 3 coffees for 3 people and after 15 minutes the owner came drunk with style and asked us to order again. We hadn't even drunk half of our coffee. We politely told him that we are drinking our coffee and after 3 minutes he came threw the receipt on the table hit his hand on it and told us to pay now .. After 10 minutes the waiter came and asked us to leave so others can sit. Shame on you. Rather professional as far as it goes

Horrible, they were really mean and we were just peacefully drinking our coffees and chocolates while playing cards and they just came, yelling and taking our cups and telling us "This is not a Casino! So they don't even give you some sugar with your coffee when you order. They took way too long to even take our orders and some of them don't even speak English. A sullen, high-pitched waiter was helpful. His attitude was far from polite. The quality of the food is definitely average or below. They used bitterness in every meal. I think the comments are completely exaggerated. We ate better food in the city. Prices were unnecessarily high. Price performance is bad. The taste can be considered average or below. Definitely not going again.

I arrived in Düsseldorf in the evening and was looking for a restaurant. Since it was relatively late, I searched on Google for nearby restaurants that were still open. La Turka by Seda was a suggestion and I decided to go. After a quick check to make sure the kitchen wasn't completely cold, I was taken to my seat and I have to say: that was a great end to the day. Great ambience and great service. The food was perfect. It made me really happy and happy that I got something else. When I'm back in Düsseldorf, I'll definitely come back.

I visited the restaurant this year and have to say that I was completely impressed by the size of the restaurant and the ambience. This is exactly how I imagine a restaurant! I don't really need to say anything about the food, but it deserves every recognition: it was really tasty and the price-performance ratio was absolutely fair. The service was friendly and attentive, which further rounded off the experience. This is exactly how a restaurant should be! I hope it stays that way - I'll be happy to come back and can only warmly recommend it. PS: I only have to criticize one thing, the toilets were very unhygienic and disgusting... that shouldn't be the case! (And that's why unfortunately 4/5)

Recomiendo encarecidamente este increíble restaurante turco. Combinan la cocina tradicional y moderna. Sin duda volveré allí la próxima vez en Düsseldorf.

This taste seems impossible in Duseldorf. If you go, try it, I'm sure you will be satisfied.

If you don't care about the price, you can eat deliciously there.
