Anfora - türkisches Restaurant in Düsseldorf

Ate with a group of friends based on reviews, but the food was really disappointing, especially for the price they ask per main course of 26 to 29 euros pp. We ordered 3x kebab skewers and 1x deer goulash. This was tasty but the skewers were disappointing. Mashed potatoes were cold. According to the menu, garlic bread would also be served, but it only came with plain dry baguette. Also forgot one drink ordered. In short, the 4.8 rating is really not worth it, a poor enough rating

Die in meiner letzten schlechten Rezension getätigten Aussagen betrafen nicht das Restaurant Anfora in Düsseldorf, sondern ein anderes Restaurant. Dieser Irrtum tut mir sehr leid. Daher habe ich meine vorhergegange Rezension gelöscht. Wie euer Restaurant von der Qualität her ist, kann ich nicht wirklich sagen, da ich bisher nur einmal bei euch essen war. Woran ich mich aber erinnere ist, dass alles ok war. Daher 5 Sterne.

We were at the Anfora Restaurant and absolutely loved it! The food was simply excellent from A to Z – fresh, delicious and prepared with a lot of love. We were not very hungry, so we only ate the cold and warm precourses / meze. Unfortunately, the price we had to pay for this was not reflected in the food we got. The cold precourse consisted of very simple dips and bread, for a lot of money. The warm offered even less for a higher price, as it consited mainly of grilled vegetables only. On top of that, wine glasses were taken away in the middle of drinking a bottle, probably because the staff was very stressed all the time. The atmosphere did not make up for it, sadly.

My friends and I first ordered some meze and then our main courses. We were all pleasantly surprised - the taste of the dishes was very convincing. 😋 Particularly noteworthy is the freshness of the chicken in my main course. 👍🏼 The service was attentive and very friendly. Overall, the visit left a very consistent impression. It's clear when professional processes and quality are the priority in a restaurant... that's no coincidence!

Do not go! Bad stomach for three days. Also the waiter tricked us into getting the most expensive dish (he was talking to the youngest / turkish speaking in our group so we trusted the process, ended up getting billed a 180euro main dish).

Everything was good, we liked the quality of the meat. The Beyti was too spicy for my taste, but the roasted hair was good. The hot appetizer plate was nice. The spoon salad was very good.

Price-performance ratio is almost not right here. Way too expensive for what you get. Very small portions. For the money you spend here for two people, you can have a very good, high-quality meal twice. I didn't see any service either.

When we came to Düsseldorf for the fair, we came across this restaurant by chance. Özkan Bey and his staff were really great. I think it is a great thing for us that they introduced Turkish flavors so well in a foreign country. I recommend everyone to never leave without stopping by here.

Price performance not recommended. If you're looking for Turkish cuisine, you've unfortunately come to the wrong place. Unfortunately overpriced. Quality is excellent. Rice tasty but portion too small. Meat partly limp. Staff overwhelmed.

Only 1 star for ambience. So price performance is justified. It's very stressful, the service wants to process the guest quickly, they don't take any time for the guest. But the extremely overpriced price (according to the motto "we are primarily a catering industry") is not the case. It's not a Turkish restaurant either, an ordinary kebab shop has more to offer. If you speak German to the service, it is very tiring because they don't speak the language well and you are treated differently than your compatriots. Was a lesson for us. More appearance than reality, only your own people enjoy full service. First look for an alternative before you throw your money out the window.

A friend of mine took us to this restaurant. We first started the meal with lentil soup, it was very delicious. Then the appetizers came and they were also quite nice. The owner of the restaurant explained to us at length where he got the meat and the quality of the meat. It seemed to me that he was exaggerating, but he wasn't exaggerating at all. Not recommended for Muslims as it is not holy. Unfortunately, a restaurant that offers alcohol is not recommended for strict Muslims and it is questionable whether it can even be halal. If it should be healal then why offer alcohol? Sry but the store is not for Muslims.

We came here based on the positive review. The food selection is not like a normal classic Turkish restaurant. The prices are out of this world. It smelled like sewage. Food wasn't tasty. Overpriced. Restaurant was empty, no customers. Boss was nice though. I'm not coming anymore.

Unfortunately the price/performance ratio doesn't fit. Too expensive for what is offered in terms of quality. The dishes are not prepared in a contemporary manner and traditional recipes are creatively interpreted and distorted. Unfortunately, the restaurant manager was not open to a constructive dialogue and our questions but was very closed. That's why I won't be your guest again.

It is preferable to reserve if you want to have a seat - I had the experience to have no seat due to the affluence. The food is excellent, the choice is great. It is a pleasure to have the same quality as in Turkey. Definitely a good address in D Düsseldorf

From the moment you walked in to the last bite, it was an absolute journey of indulgence - an experience you won't soon forget. Ambience – A place to feel good As soon as you enter you can feel the hospitality and the warm atmosphere. The stylish furnishings with oriental accents, cozy lighting and elegant details create an inviting environment - perfect for a romantic evening or a relaxed dinner with friends and family. Dining – A feast for the senses! The menu is a foodie’s paradise! Fresh, authentic and prepared with a lot of love. I chose a selection of meze for starters – homemade hummus, spicy sucuk and heavenly tender börek. Just WOW! For the main course I ordered the grilled saddle of lamb - perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection and accompanied by a wonderful red wine sauce. Plus fluffy bulgur and a crispy, fresh salad variation. An absolute culinary delight! The crowning glory was the dessert: Künefe – baked until golden brown, filled with melted cheese, soaked in sweet syrup and topped with pistachios. I have rarely eaten something so delicious! Service – Perfect from A to Z! The service is simply great! The staff are warm, attentive and take the time to make recommendations. You don't feel like a guest here, but like a welcome friend. Conclusion – More than just a restaurant! Anfora is not just a place to eat - it is a place where you feel completely comfortable and pampered. Don't leave Germany without visiting this restaurant. The best meat I ate during my stay here.

We were in the shop today and ordered a mixed grill platter (Karisik Izgara) for €35 and a few drinks. The price primarily played no personal role for us. Before we could place our order, we sat at the table for about 30 minutes without anyone noticing us, even though we were assigned a table. After that we got the menu, decided and put the menu down. We were ignored by the waiters for 30 minutes, they even came to our table, took the card and went to the other table and disappeared from there. So how do we come to this conclusion? Other guests arrived and were accompanied to the table, the card was immediately placed on the table and they were served promptly. Even though we were there before, 3-4 guests were served before us. It took another 30 minutes until we were served, after a total of 1.5 to 2 hours we were served. On the plate were 3 tablespoons of rice, a tablespoon of mashed potatoes, some broccoli, carrots and celery. One meatball, two cutlets, two thin slices of meat and four chicken breast cubes. Unfortunately it was grilled on a grill plate (electric or similar) so the typical grill aromas are not present. Only when we were almost finished eating did a basket of bread arrive. All other tables still received tea. We were just asked. Whether it tasted good but whether everything was ok was not asked. As we all know, people don’t say “quality has its price” but you hardly get any quality for the price What we would have liked would have been a small appetizer? Demand a little more feedback, we would have addressed this on site when asked and it was also not possible to address it ourselves because the bill came, he asked briefly, collected it and left. Furthermore, the dishes have nothing to do with traditional Turkish cuisine. I think if I list more here it will be far too long for the rating, but that was our first and last visit. The performance on offer is not enough for the price.

We are really disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was not at all to my taste - it was bland, carelessly prepared and had little to do with what I expected. My mixed meat grill plate was cold and not fresh, the rice was also cold. The grilled sheep's cheese and the rocket salad were super tasty. 2 out of 4 main courses were satisfactory, 2 were not. But the service was the real highlight in a negative sense: inattentive, slow and completely disorganized. We had to wait forever for someone to take our order. When we were clearing up we weren't even asked if we wanted something to drink or dessert. All in all, a really bad impression. I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant. Price-performance ratio just isn't right, it's a real shame

Unfortunately our visit was disappointing. Even though we had reserved a table, we were asked to sit somewhere else. This left us with the impression that reservations were not taken seriously here. Better organization would be desirable. It's a shame, because the ambience and the menu actually sounded promising.

So the first thing I was really impressed with was the service, the food tasted really great. The meat and fish prepared to perfection. The dessert was also very tasty. Well deserved 5 stars. I will definitely come back when I am in Düsseldorf.

Es war ok… aber begeistert waren wir nicht. Unangenehm war der Kanalisationsgeruch im Gastraum, nicht schön wenn man essen möchte. Aufs Haus gab es Brot und Oliven- ein Dip oder Olivenöl wäre schön dazu gewesen. Hauptgang war schmackhaft- allerdings auch hochpreisig! Leider wurden wir nicht nach weiteren Wünschen gefragt. Schade.

The food was really delicious at this place we chose to celebrate a birthday. Having both Fish and Kebab varieties made choosing a meal easier. The fact that it had Katmer on top of it really fascinated me as a Gaziantep native. Even though we were a group of 16 people, we had no problems with the service and the staff was always friendly.

We were here for the first time today, I have to admit around 9:30 p.m. We asked when the kitchen would be open, the waiter said *11 p.m.* When we looked at the menu for the first time, we were very surprised at the prices... very expensive to be honest. Charging 35€ for a mixed plate of warm starters for 2 people is a lot, lentil soup 8 euros and a children's plate with rice, some chicken and a super small portion of vegetables 16€ each? There was nothing special in terms of taste either. Wouldn't eat there again. The waiter wasn't particularly motivated to serve us in a friendly manner either and when we wanted to order fries at 10:30 p.m., he said the kitchen agreed. I wasn't really happy about the misinformation, I just accepted it. The fact that they took away the plates even though there was still food on them was very customer-unfriendly. I don't want to come again.

It really was better. I visit Anfora every now and then when I'm in Düsseldorf. The gentleman in service didn't particularly feel like working. We noticed that as soon as we entered the restaurant. But the food was great as always.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I specifically ordered a vegetarian dish. The plate was so sparsely filled that even a child wouldn't have been able to get enough of it. And then there was meat on it too. I asked again because I couldn't believe it at first and it was confirmed to me. The waiter was convinced that he was doing something good for me. There was no insight, no apology. Then my plate (which still had almost half of it on it) was taken away and Börek was given as compensation. When paying, it was pointed out again that the börek was a gift from the house and it seemed as if I should be grateful for it. I'm really extremely disappointed.

The food was OK, but nothing more. Despite the beautiful location, we didn't feel comfortable there on our first visit. There was neither a “welcome” nor a “goodbye” even though the waiter was standing right next to us smoking. We ordered starters, warm snacks and a small bottle of raki. The service was disappointing: no asking if everything was OK and rude behavior when we wanted to move to the terrace. We paid €90 for a starter plate, a warm shrimp dish, salad and 0.2 liters of raki. The starter plate tasted partly like canned food. Conclusion: Make up your own mind - for me the service alone is reason enough not to come back.
