La Baita in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Very good pizza, in normal (large!) and small (normal pizza size).

There is an individual that works there. This is the 3rd time we have had this person serve us. When it comes to paying, we are charged more than what we are supposed to pay. It may only be a euro or two but there is always some excuse. My Husband questioned the price, because we knew exactly what that pizza cost. This individual charged a bit over a euro more, then said it was a computer type glitch- my husband said “then that is your tip”- it’s just frustrating this day and age. We don’t normally type anything, but it’s the principal of the matter. We normally truly enjoy this restaurant! Everyone is very friendly, kind and the food is great! It’s this one individual that makes it ridiculous.

We ordered the spicy salami pizza and the carbonara pasta, and both were delicious. The authentic flavors and quality of the ingredients make it totally worth it. Highly recommended, without a doubt the best in the area to enjoy good Italian food.

We were visiting Grainau. We went to eat there based on a recommendation. The service employee assigned to us served us with a humorous and at the same time professional manner that we have rarely experienced before. Our food came within 15 minutes max. Special requests were simply included in the order and implemented. The pizza protruded well over the edge of the plate and, like the vegetable lasagne that was also ordered, was a taste experience. We have eaten many pizzas and Italian dishes in various restaurants but the food and service here surpassed everything. It's a shame that this restaurant is 400km away from us 😅. This shop is an absolute highlight.

We were there on Saturday night to celebrate our birthday, we ate very well, all the waiters were super nice, even the boss, the girl whose name I didn't ask, very nice, she made us an extra tiramisu for us which was out of this world, delicious.. Everything was perfect 👌 we will definitely be back

The food here is outstanding! The service, friendliness, and attentiveness of the staff was fantastic. The only thing I would suggest is, they add their Bruschetta as a main as well, it was the best we have eaten outside of Italy!

The location of the restaurant, the food, the pizzas and the staff are all very nice, but there are two pizza chefs in front of the wood fired oven and one of those pizza chefs has swept the floor and cleaned the tip of the brush with his fingers. I sat directly across from them and he scratched his butt and without washing his hands they both started making pizza again. I felt disgusted and nauseous 🤮🤦‍♀️ but unfortunately I finished the pizza. A little more hygienic would be better, because there are really delicious pizzas, dishes and salads there. Actually they deserve 5 stars but unfortunately 2 🌟 because of these 2 pizza chefs who don't follow the hygiene regulations, have an itchy butt and clean the broom with their hands and don't wash their hands.

We had an amazing dinner at this pizzeria. They were very busy but were still able to make space for us without a reservation. Crazy busy Italian restaurant in Garmisch. Came around opening of the dinner shift and within 30min all chairs were filled. Best to make a reservation or come early to have a spot. Food was great and affordable, service quick and friendly.

Are on vacation in Garmisch and have ordered from the delivery service. When I took the order, the telephone operator was very polite and nice to me, even though it wasn't the easiest order. Food was also very tasty and delivery was also very quick. Will definitely order again :)

We had take out on xmas day and it was very good. We were grateful they were open! Lasagne might not be the best choice for take out. The salad and pasta were tasty. We've eaten here many times over the years and the ambiance is very charming and good for families or couples. Service is pleasant though might take a while when very busy. The food ranges between good and great.

We were here a year ago, and we had such great food, we came back tonight on our second visit. They are amazing! The pizza's are top level, and the staff is professional and kind. Amazing service, and outstanding Food!!

Even though the pizza here does not reach the same quality as New Jersey style pizza they still try hard. Other Italian dishes are phenomenal as well and the service and atmosphere are outstanding.

Price performance very very good. The ambience can be more “Italian”, otherwise nice and rustic. Food really excellent. The pizza was nice and thin and the toppings were of very good quality. The pasta was al dente and the ingredients used were fresh. We will come and then gladly again.

The pizzas looked very good, but I had pasta. They were tasty, but not super special either. However, the atmosphere was really not good. It was packed and there were a lot of tables packed into a small space. The atmosphere on site is correspondingly loud and unpleasant. Despite making a reservation in advance, six of us had to sit at a table for four. I would just take with me next time.

Way too crowded and extremely loud. Everything is very tight. The food is fantastic. There is a delivery service that I will then use.

I rarely leave reviews but I feel compelled to tell as many people as possible how great this place is. It felt like the staff were enjoying themselves and were so ready to have a joke with you. The food was delicious (tiramisu especially) and was so reasonably priced. Will be back for sure!!

Great pizza for Germany, north italian style I would call it. Service like in Italy, very friendly. The pasta with Chianti wine and radicchio was also very nice. We tried also the crema catalana and the profiteroles with pistacchio creme, also very good. Close to the center but you can park, they have their own parking and also a public one across the street. Would come back any time.

It was our first time eating there. We ordered a pizza, a pasta dish and pizza rolls. The food was okay, but there are significantly better quality pizzas in town. Then the bill came and we thought something had been calculated incorrectly because the pizza rolls were a mere €10 on the bill. The price wasn't found anywhere on the menu when we ordered, so we thought ok, it would cost €4-5, whatever. It's really cheeky to charge €10 for a few small rolls. You pay less elsewhere.

Excellent Italian food in the heart of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I had the La Biata pizza which is "everything but fish". Cheese, mushrooms, and ham on the entire pizza (those 3 ingredients appear on most of their pizza options) with onions, artichoke, bell pepper, capers, black olives, jalapeno, and salami appearing in their own sections. It's almost like trying 4-5 different pizzas in one sitting. Crust is thin and bendable. The onion soup was excellent, but I'm a sucker for the huge gob of mozzarella that was on top. The eggplant gnocchi had a creamy marinara with mozzarella cubes that melted into the rest of the dish. Plenty of drink choices, but they have a variety of fruit drinks that goes beyond apfelshole. I had apricot, first with mineralwasser and then without. I like apricot nectar so i preferred without, but sparkling apricot juice is good too. Whether you want a traditional Italian dish or an yummy brick oven pizza, you won't go wrong here.

We made a reservation and there was still no space available. In addition, everything was crowded and loud, so you could hardly understand your own words and it was a crush to get into the restaurant. All in all a very negative experience.

We were absolutely thrilled, the food and service were really perfect! The only point of criticism: The non-alcoholic drinks are a bit too expensive, but the food prices are very reasonable. We'll be back!!!

A very good Italian restaurant. Amazing pizza, great staff and a nice environment. We enjoyed the food, the only reason for reducing a star was that the place is a tiny bit expensive. But I would highly recommend the place. The desert looked amazing but wasn't great.

We visited a charming Italian restaurant in Garmisch and were absolutely delighted! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, like a little slice of Italy in the Alps. The seafood dishes were outstanding – the fish was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the seafood risotto was rich and full of fresh, delicate flavors. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. A wonderful place to enjoy a special meal after a day in the mountains. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite pizzerias in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You really can’t go wrong with any of the pizza or pasta choices. The servers, all Italians, are very attentive and professional and engaging. The location is a shot walk from the center of Garmisch and there is on-site and nearby parking. The restaurant decor is very inviting and warm. The menus is extensive and provides great value. I love the overall experience for special occasions or just a pizza night out.

Food was okay, even if the fillet tips in the pasta were sometimes gristly, service was quick and friendly, even though the place was incredibly full on Sunday, place could be more comfortable, maybe that was just due to our table in the middle of the place. Overall solid, but nothing exceptional.

This really is the best pizza I've ever had. It tastes really Italian with a thin base and the edge is crispy, fluffy and also thin. The pizza was nice and big too. There is no skimping here. And you can tell the ingredients are of very high quality, only the finest products are used here. The feta, for example, also tastes very delicious here, had a salad with feta. The only negative point is the prices, because it is really too expensive. But at least you get quality for your money here.

Fresh ingredients on a perfect pizza base! Huge portions to fill you up

We ordered food from the hotel and we were hoping for more. I had a calzone and my husband had a lasagna. We ordered a salad together. The calzone had a black hole in the middle and I felt like I was eating pure dough! There was almost no filling! The lasagne was also subpar and had zero taste. The salad had no dressing, no seasoning and it felt like it was just pure oil! So according to the reviews we had a different idea! Sorry but we would never eat anything there again on vacation! Ps: and you wait far too long for delivery for something like that!!!

2022: 1a quality, both for the pizzas and the ravioli with porcini mushrooms, tiramisu also very good, friendly service from the never-aging waiter 2023: another great experience, both the beef fillet and the pizzas were great, the crema catalana was missing the vanilla, and the cream shouldn't be warm, only the crust should be heated, conclusion: highly recommended 2024: had a bad day, dishes didn't come at the same time, pizzas weren't baked, sometimes strange service, tiramisu was good as usual, have to think about whether it's still the first choice.
