It's rarely a positive surprise that I experience something like that

It seems like a normal pub, but at €21 per 100g (!) for a normal steak on a par with fine dining. Quality is good, but not very good. Apparently it used to be better.

A place to recommend. Very delicious food! Good attention. The problem is that the meat dishes are very, very expensive.

I'm a bit torn. The food was really good and the kitchen definitely does an excellent job with the high-quality beef, I think there can hardly be any other opinion. The ambience, however, wasn't really my thing. I know a lot of high-quality steakhouses and to be honest, for me the ambience doesn't really reflect the high-quality food. Please don't misunderstand: you definitely come into a clean and well-kept guest room here. But it's more well furnished, middle-class with a certain touch of pragmatism. The service(s) were without exception friendly, although a bit overwhelmed during the European Championship game (Germany was playing, of all places), with the full dining room inside and out. Here I think you have to assess the situation appropriately and say: “Don’t worry about it.” Because when we visited the next day without a Germany game, it was significantly better. What I found really bad, however, was the volume on the first evening. I don't mean the other guests but the football game. It was so loud that I could barely hear my wife. Unfortunately for me this is difficult to understand in a high-quality restaurant. 250g of beef on the plate for €80 and then a football commentator constantly shouting at me about a new hairstyle. I would expect that in a corner bar in Bochum, but honestly not here. Football fever in all respects, but 20 decibels quieter, would have worked too. On the second evening, when I don't know what I was playing against (;-)), it was much more pleasant, even though the game, including the sound, was running at an acceptable volume. All in all, it's worth a visit, you have to be fair. The food is without exception good and the waitresses are friendly. You can only find fault here at a high level, which I think is okay at €100+ per person. For me it was really as rated above: food great, service good, ambience mediocre.

Everything is right here. Service, ambience, offer, location and price (not cheap but more than fair and reasonable) will become a permanent goal of my visits to Munich

Good afternoon, I want to leave this review so that the owner of this good restaurant realizes the kind of worker he has in his restaurant. On July 20, I went with my best friend and we received very bad attention from one of her employees. We are two very educated and respectful women. We returned on July 21 because we really loved the food and the same situation comes back and repeats itself, serving in a bad way, talking ugly and placing the plates reluctantly. We don't understand her attitude. If he is a person who is not trained in customer service, do not make him serve your clients. The restaurant is all too delicious but because of his attitude unfortunately we will not return and we really notice that it is like that with everyone.

Update: was pretty good and tasty. Meat was of good quality. ___________ We were a larger group. Unfortunately, the meat is far too tough for the price and has a lot of flax. €30 for a 300g dryaged beef is too much. A pity. That's what my colleagues meant too. Side dishes are great. Taste good too. Burgers were good though. It was a long wait for service, but it was better on a previous visit. Overall therefore only 2 stars.

I recently dined at KvR Kapitales vom Rind, and it was an incredible experience! I ordered the Rib Eye, and it was the best steak I've ever had. The meat was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-notch steak dining experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

The products are great and taste very, very good. I can choose the meat myself at a counter. The butcher cuts the piece of meat directly on site. But everyone has to know for themselves whether a 300 g entrecote has to cost €84. If a steak costs three times as much as in another restaurant and tastes three times better, I dare to doubt it. The service was very quick, reliable but not overly friendly. Just normal.

Simply the best steak in and around Munich. Great selection, good concept and nice staff. I would recommend everyone to make a reservation otherwise it will look bad in the evening. Now a little information about the price, good meat also costs. You should expect to pay €70 - €80 for food and drinks for 1 person.

I felt very comfortable all around.

The meat was good, but still not appropriate for the price; overpriced. The service was inattentive and very brief, even though there was almost nothing going on in the restaurant.

Only about 30% of the tables were in use. We had reserved and got the place at the toilet, although enough other tables were and remained free throughout. There wasn't much going on in general, so the service was obviously lacking. The furnishings are nice so far, but one of the large lights kept flickering. One steak out of three wasn't really ready yet (ordered medium rare / received rare) Some improvements were made... The other two as ordered. One person had overlooked the sauces on the menu and was fobbed off with the statement "it's on the menu". The query about one of the sauces was only answered very imprecisely. When it took a while until someone came after dinner, I asked for the menu again so I could choose desserts. The waiter disappeared but came back without one. Went to another table and cashed in. Then went from the table to another and cashed in there too. I then got the card from the lady at the bar. Just as I got the cards the waiter came and asked what desserts we wanted. So please take a few minutes to read... Ordered three desserts and waited 28 minutes for them. When we paid the bill, we were not charged for the three desserts, with a request for forgiveness and the statement that it normally wouldn't take that long. All in all, the food was good so far, but the service wasn't commensurate with the rather high prices. They were particularly friendly and particularly motivated or helpful. (Except the lady at the bar) Looking at the other reviews here, we're probably not the only ones who see it that way. It depends on the service and in my opinion there is potential! I will try another restaurant next time I have steak. Btw. The US Ribeye shown in the picture was 0.353kg at €240 per kg = €84

Been there more often lately. All in all, really TOP. The really great service and the excellent tasting food are unparalleled in Munich. No matter when we were there, the staff was always polite and on their toes. To those who complain about the service, 2 points: 1.always remember, just like you call into the forest, like that….. 2. In this day and age we should all be happy and grateful that service providers like this still exist... A HUGE THANK YOU from my side...and please keep it up...!!! We will definitely be happy to come back again and again👍👍👍

There were two of us during the week and we paid just under €400.00 for the evening. The prices for the steaks are "juicy" T-bone steak 780 gr. ~200 €, unfortunately the taste and quality did not convince us. The steak came to the table sliced, which was nice but was cold within a few minutes. The gins were prepared without any love and therefore tasted modest. We will no longer visit the restaurant because the price/performance ratio does not match at all. It should be positively mentioned that our criticism was taken into account and a discount (enclosures) was granted.

Price performance is not right at all. The meat was tasty but not special. It was ordered medium but it was more like medium well to well. When the waitress asked about it, they simply responded with “ah ok, sorry”. At least at They didn't do anything wrong with beer.

Unfortunately disappointing. Food was ok but not particularly good, and therefore P/L was not appropriate. The medium beef fillet was served medium rare, the sweet potato fries were oversalted. But the mousse for the bedside table was very good. Service was also good and the reason why 3 stars.

Good meat, good atmosphere, and excellent service.

The first waiter wasn't very good, the second was efficient and good. He became nice after the tip! Otherwise the meat, exceptional, excellent, wonderful! I recommend the restaurant, not because of the service, very limited, but because of the quality of the meat!

This place is GREAT. We got the octopus salad, filet mignon, US ribeye, mushrooms, gratin and Caesar salad, and every thing was excellent. We had a couple of drinks and a starter before getting steaks (overall spent about 4 hours there), then finally ordered steaks and a bottle of wine. We were there on a Friday night from around 17:45-21:45 and there were available tables all night, which I’m honestly shocked by because the quality/price ratio are really good for Munich. You go up to a butcher counter and order the cut and cook for your steak, then the waiter takes your order for the sides/extras. Highlights: - Great meat quality/perfect cook. - The restaurant is quite big and noisy enough that you can have conversations without whispering (not loud, just comfortable). - The wine list is excellent. - The cocktails are strong. - It’s possible to get a table without a reservation for dinner on a weekend. Overall highly recommend!

Really great quality of meat grilled to perfection and the service stands out with its friendliness and speed. At the end the landlord came, a great guy! So we are completely happy. I rarely say everything is great! 👍

Luckily we came across here. It is located on the ground floor of such a beautiful green building. Since we were not hungry, we ate lemonade and apple pie and the presentation, service and flavor were legendary. The employees were very good. They could speak English and were very well-intentioned. (they offered some meat to our dog and this made our dog extremely happy 🥹🫰🏻) Also, the toilets were very clean.

The reception in the restaurant was not particularly friendly. And so, unfortunately, you go into the visit with a negative feeling. The meat that was ordered medium rare was unfortunately cooked through. However, this was replaced without any problems and was very tasty on the second try. In principle, however, one imagines a slightly more active service for a restaurant in this price range.

Steak was good, but overpriced for the price, unfortunately served cold (rare is heavy but at least warm plates for the price of almost 50 euros per 200 grams), service was unfortunately not exactly brilliant either, waited forever for the food (almost 1, 5 hours) Drinks after the first round also came late. For what the KVR demands, I don't think it's justified.

The meat was certainly the most expensive we have ever eaten. But it was definitely the best, really excellent. Super tender, grilled to perfection, it couldn't be better. The side dishes, sweet potato fries and grilled vegetables, were also very good and tasty. The service was very friendly, quick and attentive, the atmosphere was very good.

Unfortunately the meat was too dry. Had 2 large dry aged high loin steaks. I would have expected a little more for 90 euros per piece.

As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was skeptical as to whether I would like to eat high-quality food in a Bavarian beer hall. The atmosphere takes some getting used to. Loud and quite rustic. Doesn't fit the offer for me. The service was really not good. Very long waiting time and unfortunately very little charm. Not very attentive, there wasn't even bread or anything at the front. A bit minimalistic when you look at the total at the end. Unfortunately, the waiter had the feeling that he would rather be somewhere else. No charm, no passion. No finesse. A pity. The food was very salty. It was ok, but not great. Overall, not a nice experience.

The meat is amazing! Best quality. Depending on the space, the ambience is rather cool. Our waitress was very arrogant and bossy. Nevertheless, we will always go back because of the food!

I'm conflicted. On the one hand, it's interesting because you can choose your meat at the counter, but on the other hand, I think that's exactly what's overpriced.

We had a very pleasant evening with competent staff. The food tasted good and arrived super quickly. The non-alcoholic cocktails are also highly recommended. All in all a nice evening. Would love to come back.

It was once again absolutely top class to eat at the KVR. From advice on choosing meat and side dishes to drinks, everything was perfect.

The meat is really a poem, it also has its price, which is basically okay. Unfortunately, our service was almost inaccessible. The ambience is ok, I had imagined something "own or special", it seemed more like a classic Bavarian restaurant to me.

2022 Ate fillet, great service. We had our regulars' table there in front of J , so it can quickly reach over 50 euros Update 2024 has become very expensive, e.g. about 200g Beef fillet WITHOUT a side dish 45 euros. A pity,

The KVR, in a class of its own. Both in terms of quality and price. We were there with 8 people as part of a company event, and our colleagues are still raving about it. My dry aged fillet was perfect 😀

Wir waren zu zweit dort und haben zunächst unbeachtet am Empfang gewartet bis wir unseren Tisch bekommen haben. Das Restaurant war nicht voll besetzt allerdings wirkte der Service trotzdem unkoordiniert. Das Filet war spitze, die Beilagen allerdings kalt oder ungewürzt. Den Wein haben wir uns selbst von der Theke geholt, da sie Gläser dort lange standen ohne das sie zum Tisch kamen, obwohl wir bereits unser Essen bekommen haben. Für den Preis kann man schon auch etwas mehr Service und Freundlichkeit erwarten.

Wir dachten uns im "normalen" Restaurant kann man nie sicher sein, ob man ein gutes Steak bekommt, von daher nehmen wir mal mehr Geld in die Hand, und gehen im Steak-Restaurant auf Nummer sicher. Leider wurden wir enttäuscht - das Steak meiner Partnerin war fast kalt, als serviert wurde. Hat man optisch schon gesehen, weil das Steak trocken aussah, und auch die Sosse war eingetrocknet. Wir haben uns zwei Steaks geteilt, und haben betont, dass die Steaks aufgeschnitten auf einer Platte serviert werden sollen (was hier üblich ist), nur leider wurde auf zwei Tellern serviert. Wie gesagt, ein Steak war schon kalt, von daher hat ein Um-Organisieren keinen Sinn mehr gemacht. Der Kellner hat bei der Auswahl mehr versucht uns in eine Richtung zu lenken, als dass er auf unsere Fragen eingegangen ist. Die Portion Süsskartoffel-Pommes ist sehr klein. Wir sind beide nicht ganz satt aus dem Restaurant gegangen, und haben 180 Euro bezahlt. Der Whisky-Sour ist gut.

Fleisch war ok. Über 100 € für ein simples Entrecote Steak (kein Dry Aged) ohne Beilagen finde ich allerdings übertrieben, insbesondere weil das Ambiente eher einer renovierten Jägerhütte und keinem edlen Etablissement gleicht.

Hervorragendes Essen mit Freunden. Das Steak 🥩 Dry aged Filet war geschmacklich perfekt und Medium rare auf den Punkt zubereitet. Auch die Vorspeise, Rinder Tartar, ein Gaumenkitzler. Die Cocktails waren noch der perfekte Abschluss des Abends. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen. Vielen Dank an Simi und Team!

Ein sehr schönes gehobenes Restaurant, Bestimmt auch eine super Qualität des Fleisch, ich habe mir Rippchen bestellt leider waren diese ungenießbar weil die extrem salzig waren sogar die süßkartoffel waren extrem versalzen. Ich habe daraufhin den Kellner Tomy (Hier nochmal große Lob an den Kellner tomy ) durfte mir ein anderes Gericht ausgesucht und es wurde mir NICHT extra berechnet zur wieder gutmachung gabs eine Nachspeise aufs Haus. Im Großen und Ganzen empfehlenswert Ich glaube der Koch hat nur diesmal übertrieben mit dem Salz

Sofortiger Hinweis, dass der Tisch nach 2h geräumt werden muss. Mag inzwischen leider Standard geworden sein an Wochenenden in München - dennoch ein mäßiger Start. Ambiente: Wirtshaus mit 30.000 Euro aufgepeppelt. Nicht schlecht aber nichts besonderes. Steak eher Medium-well als medium. Grillgemüse leider 50% Sellerie (?!). Nachspeise gut. Service in Ordnung. WIRKLICH GEÄRGERT hat mich die Rechnung, die nämlich keine war. Immer öfter wird in München versucht hier Steuern zu sparen. Sei es drum bei einem Döner, aber bei 100.- Euro pro Person finde ich das traurig! Da vergeht mir langsam auch die Sympathie für die Gastro, wenn man Kunden die erhöhte MwST auch noch berechnet, sie aber nicht mal abführen will. Nach kurzem Kommentar kam sofort eine richtige Rechnung - ohne Kommentar wäre hier ganz sicher nichts mehr passiert. Die Bedienung ist ja aber auch nur die ausführende Hand…

Das Fleisch war lecker und gut gemacht. Allerdings waren Vorspeise und Beilagen nicht wirklich genießbar. Die Suppe war schwer versalzen und die Ofenkartoffeln nicht wirklich gut gewürzt. Zudem war die Bedienung nicht sehr aufmerksam.

Sehr gute Rindfleischauswahl. Wir waren mit Freunden hier und können das Fleisch und insbesondere die Vorspeisen sehr empfehlen. Die Vorspeisenkarte ist für unseren Geschmack etwas knapp geraten, auch der Service war etwas unaufmerksam, aber sehr bemüht.

Tolle und große Auswahl an Steaks. Mein Rib-Eye war top gebraten und auch die Beilagen waren sehr gut. Leider stand eine Flasche Wein auf der Rechnung, die wir nicht hatten. Kontrolliert also zur Sicherheit eure Rechnung.

It was absolutely delicious. We didn’t have steak though (although it did look very good indeed). But the game menu sounded too good to resist. I look Forward to another visit - this time for a steak ;)

Das beste Fleisch in der Stadt. Tolles Konzept zum Aussuchen der zu grillenden Stücke. Preise im gehobenen Niveau, aber das Gebotene wert. Räumlichkeiten stark an Bayerisches Wirtshaus erinnernd. Bänke eher unbequem.

Great service and gorgeous steak. It's nice selecting your cut of meat first from the butcher's counter. Steak was cooked perfectly and there was a nice selection of sides.

Gehobene Preise, nettes Personal Preis Leistung war okay. Reservierungsmodalität für einen Kleistädter wie mir gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Super Steakhouse mit absolut guten Fleisch. War alles auf den Punkt genau gegrillt. Besten Dank auch an den Service. Der hat ebenfalls perfekt funktioniert und das bei unserer Gruppe mit 15 durstigen und hungrigen Männern. Immer wieder gerne.

Ein recht hochgelobtes Restaurant - bin ein erfahrener Restaurantbesucher und habe öfters Schnitzel bestellt. Das was ich dort bekommen habe, hat es mir persönlich zwar gut geschmeckt, was an den Schnitzel oft die Haltung des Fleisches sowie die Art von Zubereitung abhängt, jedoch waren die Portionen leider recht sehr überschaubar für den Preis. Bin leider davon nicht satt geworden. Vielleicht trifft das nicht auf die anderen Gerichte zu - meine Meinung gilt hier Schnitzel vom Kalb. Am Service mag ich nicht kritisieren, da überall Personalnotstand herrscht wobei ich hierfür Verständnis habe.

Tolles Lokal, das Essen war super, Service einfach top. Schade, dass es doch zu laut drin war. Ja, es war sehr gut besucht, aber vielleicht könnte man was mit der Akkustik machen. Sonst, wie gesagt, einfach top 😀

Das Beste waren die Beilagen, das Fleisch ok, aber den hohen Preis nicht wert (nicht mürbe). In die heisst Suppe gelegtes Tatar mag ich auch nicht. Kneipe für Schwabinger Yuppies

Zum zweiten Mal fand ich mich in den heimeligen Räumlichkeiten des KVR wieder, und erneut wurden meine Erwartungen nicht enttäuscht. Eine äußerst zuvorkommende Servicekraft geleitete uns zu unserem Tisch, erläuterte das unkomplizierte Prozedere der Fleischauswahl und stand uns mit fachkundiger Beratung zur Seite. Gleichzeitig nahm sie unsere Getränkewünsche und Beilagenpräferenzen auf. Das Mahl. erfüllte sämtliche kulinarischen Sehnsüchte. Jede Komponente wurde perfekt auf den Punkt zubereitet, ganz gemäß unseren Bestellungen, und die Beilagen erwiesen sich als großzügig portioniert und äußerst schmackhaft. Es sei vielleicht anzumerken, dass es ratsam ist, rechtzeitig eine Tischreservierung vorzunehmen, insbesondere während der Stoßzeiten, etwa ab 18:00 Uhr am Abend. Bei meinen zwei Besuchen war das Lokal stets bis auf den letzten Platz ausgebucht, was zweifellos auf die hohe Beliebtheit und Qualität des Restaurants hinweist.

Sehr gute Steaks, professionelle Bedienung, tolles Ambiente. Das alles hat natürlich auch seinen Preis. Wir waren das erste Mal da mit Reservierung. Sicherlich nicht das letzte Mal.

Gemütliches Ambiente, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service und qualitativ hochwertiges und sehr leckeres Essen!

Sehr schönes Steakhouse in Schwabing. Man kann sich sein Steak mit Tagespreis entweder direkt an der Kühltheke aussuchen und wird dort auch beraten, dann noch die Beilagen und Saucen dazu aussuchen oder man bestellt einfach eins zum Festpreis mit Beilagen und Sauce. Das Essen kam schnell, die Steaks und Beilagen - Grillgemüse, Süsskartoffelpommes und Cesars Salat - waren hervorragend. Der Service ist ebenfalls sehr aufmerksam, wir bekamen trotz Reservierung einen Tisch, der für uns - beide gehbehindert - angenehmer war. Es sind schon gehobene Preise, aber für ein Steakhouse schon angemessen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.
