The service staff no longer feel like working.

We actually only wanted to give one star, but that wouldn't have done justice to the overall ambiance, and perhaps the perhaps good food. So we're forced to give it a well-intentioned 2-3 stars. This is why we're so reluctant, because the rest of the food, the service, the price/performance ratio, and the atmosphere, turned out not to be as satisfactory as we initially thought. A very high-brow and expensive restaurant. It looks very nice from the outside and inside, but it's nowhere near the coziness you'd expect from simpler or smaller, but clean restaurants with friendly service and a cozy or family atmosphere. And thus feel welcome. Here, however, it's unfortunately more show than substance. They probably put in more effort, if they think guests will order a lot and pay a lot, and thus leave a lot of money. In any case, we, two guests, were served very condescendingly, as people apparently had/had prejudices against us or "people who looked different"? There was a very arrogant atmosphere. We were looked at with strange looks. My guest also had this impression, and not just me! In any case, these unpleasant feelings were aroused in us, which may happen in some restaurants, but not that often. We were simply meeting here with an open mind, for a business lunch, and suspected nothing bad. The simple salad with extra chicken breast strips, however, was no better than at other, cheaper restaurants. On the contrary, it even tasted better there. We didn't eat any steaks. Just snacks and drinks. Therefore, we can't comment on the taste and quality of the steaks, etc. But the drinks, side dishes, and service are definitely no better here than at other regular restaurants; they're just more expensive, and the ambiance looks more expensive. Perhaps you'll be treated better if you order a lot more, and more expensive, and don't look so different? In any case, unfortunately, prejudice seems to prevail here. Because, on a Saturday night, there wasn't a single foreigner to be seen inside. Perhaps we've even ended up in a shop that's particularly shy about new things? Who knows? This thought surfaced as we ended up leaving the place sooner than we had originally planned. Where only "DE" or similar people are welcome guests? At least, these thoughts and feelings were conveyed to us here, and they arose in us after just this one-hour stay in this restaurant. Strangely, this was the case elsewhere, but wasn't it? Due to the strange and oppressive atmosphere and the unpleasant incidents, we unfortunately couldn't stay there as comfortably and relaxed as we initially thought from the outside appearance. A waste of money and the wrong place for a healthy, happy meeting and good conversation. Unfortunately, this experience in this restaurant was just as negative for us. So why does this review site delete these honest and unpleasant experiences and prohibit us from expressing our free opinions? And thus conceal the actual events from consumers?

Very tasty food, steaks are perfect, definitely worth a visit

We were there last night. The food was very good and the service was really very accommodating! What really bothers me, however, is the fact that vouchers are no longer accepted. There is a note about this on the entrance door, but it is easily overlooked. At least that's how it was for me. So when we paid, we were informed that the voucher could no longer be redeemed here and that we should contact a telephone number or email address (which we were given by the staff) to get our money. I have to say this really bothers me! For a restaurant in this price category, I would have expected that the voucher would be accepted and you would take care of it yourself! I'm curious to see if I get my money...

The KvR is simply an institution, period! Everything here just fits together perfectly: the service, the team, the decor, and especially the food! Truly fantastic! The selection is huge, but with the helpful advice, everyone will find something they like. Thank you very much!

Flawless, delicious steaks, not cheap but worth the money

The food isn't a bargain, but it's delicious and our server Zora was incredibly attentive and very kind. The spritz was also awesome.

Had a wonderful evening! Cleopatra our wonderful service was truly a dream! Super friendly, very competent and really sweetened our evening with her great manner! Rarely have we experienced such great service! Of course, the steak was fantastic as always and super tasty! We felt really comfortable and would love to come back! Perfekt Meat combined with perfect service, what else do one need?

Lots of little things that shouldn't happen at this price. From the beginning we felt unwelcome and unnoticed. Sauce on the shoes because a waitress dropped the sauce bowl and meat that was more raw than medium rare. The service wasn't very attentive either, it's a shame the location and the great meat would be the basis for a better experience.

Unfortunately I was a bit very disappointed today, especially with the price-performance ratio! The broth was totally over-salted, the dry aged rib eye was done, I wanted it pink! Add the onions sour. And all in all, totally over-seasoned. The truffle parmesan fries didn't even smell like truffles! A small dollop of truffle oil is enough! The waiters were great, but unfortunately I was very disappointed with the kitchen today! If I can do it better at home in the hobby kitchen than with a professional, then I'm a little disappointed! And at home I cook for a tenth of the price...!

I've been to KVR several times before but today everything was perfect thanks to the great service Chloe. She provided excellent service from start to finish! The steak was perfectly fried and the side dishes were really great! I'd love to come back here.

If you are a tourist, you might want to avoid this place. Both the atmosphere and the steaks were nice which was the main reason for our visit after reading other reviews. Food: The steaks were cooked well but the chimichurri paste was extremely dry and there was no way to put it on the meat. Ribs had some delicious fatty part but was also mostly dry and tough. Steak tartare was just average, nothing new or surprising. Caesar salad was pleasantly nice, but it's just a tad bit heavy and probably will be better if shared between 2-4 people. Service: The service was horrible which makes up for most of the experience. We waited for about 20-30 mins for our booking which was understandable as it was a busy night. Once we were seated, the waitress started explaining the steak menu so we ordered our mains and also entrees. The waitress then rolled her eyes at us, said she had already inputted our mains order first on her device and annoyingly told us she had to remove all our orders and start again because we asked for entrees after mains. We've also ordered a bottle of wine for the table which we had to ask for 3 times because they kept forgetting. They ignored us throughout the night without bothering looking at our table and made us feel so unwelcomed. At the end, the waitress also insisted a 15-20% tipping. We felt so uncomfortable dining at this place and it just left such an awful experience to our time in Munich.

The roast beef was extremely good! The price (€21 per 100g) was in my opinion. according to absolutely justified. Anyone who complains about high prices should perhaps do the math before ordering or, for example, order a significantly cheaper burger. The two of us paid €150 for 2 steaks, 3 side dishes, 4 drinks, coffee and dessert, which was completely reasonable given the quality of the meat. Only the service could be a little more on point, but very friendly and helpful!

The whole experience was amazing, you pick the meat and you can see it cooking on the grill,everything was excellent, about the staff all I can say that they are truly professional and take good care of their customers. Sadly, I didn't take photos of the food,was too hungry 😅

Great experience and service, i had the dry aged rumpsteak and it was phenomenal i would definitely recommend. We went quite early(5.30 PM) and no one was there yet that may have been the reason for our incredibly fast service but im sure the atmosphere would be even better at later hours.

I can't understand the mostly good reviews. Intrusive, unprofessional service, loud and intrusive, but had to ask a colleague to open the wine bottle, appetizers were very good, no advice at the meat counter, which was extremely disappointing, as even our friend with walking difficulties was asked several times that he had to choose himself and that was what he wanted Yes, finally, also about the concept (to my quiet remark that not everyone likes running, I was loudly replied that I have nothing against the disabled - underground), it's more about processing at the counter, the meat was “okay” - but nothing more. Parts of the order were forgotten - well, in summary: we won't be coming back. €450 for four people is simply too much!

The food is good, but not according to the price. The location is more like a tavern and is therefore not chic enough for a steakhouse in the upper price segment.

KVR is a very high-priced, upscale restaurant. In a total of 7 visits, I was only disappointed with the quality of the meat once, which was immediately after the reopening at the end of the corona pandemic. The fact that my seventh visit was the last for me is not due to the quality, but rather to the service: I reserved a table for a business partner and myself from 6 p.m. We consumed a total of 200 euros and were just about to choose a dessert when we were told that we had to pay because the table had been re-allocated for 8 p.m. When I asked, I was told that the restaurant was currently overbooked and that the table was needed. So after two hours we were given the choice of either going to the bar or leaving the restaurant. I must expressly emphasize that there was never any mention of a time slot for the table when making the reservation.

Second time here. Price and performance okay. Various types of beer and spirits. Large menu. In the end it was also possible without a reservation.

We spontaneously went to this restaurant without making a reservation, as the OpenTable service indicated that tables were available at various times in the evening. But when we arrived, the manager told us in a rude tone that there were no tables, that OpenTable was deceiving us, and that he had been doing his job for 13 years. It seemed strange to me that in those 13 years, he apparently hadn't learned how to treat guests politely. We were offered a table for an hour, but in a manner that completely ruined our appetite for visiting this restaurant. We left and will never return.

Service at the level, food excellent

Basically nice shop, but the prices - wtf. In the photo you can see our food, 2 plates of meat (and lots of bones), a few side dishes (maybe 6 small bowls in total) and a few beers. Our bill was over €700!! I myself had 2 small pieces of meat, a few beans and pimientos and 2 beers and paid €170! Sorry, but I lack any justification or connection. The meat also clearly didn't have enough rest time and was unfortunately tough. I'm happy to pay a lot of money for good food, but that was just too much and a reason for me not to visit the restaurant again.

Had a 250g roast beef, cooked to perfection, side dish (you choose) were fries and they were just right, crunchy on the outside but not too much and juicy on the inside. Dessert the Toblerone Mouse was a dream 😍 I think it's cool that you can look at the meat and choose it. Next time I'll have to get something from the DryAge cupboard 😁 Of course we don't need to talk about the prices, the four of us had a bill of €320 and had a round of schnapps with us 🤩

It was quieter in the restaurant than usual, we had our favorite rude table and it was great as always! A single pleasure and the service, as always, unobtrusive but very accommodating.

We had a nice evening, the meat selection was really good, nice service and a nice ambience.

We were at the KVR today and had the following experiences. Unfortunately, the beef broth was far too intense, almost inedible, it should have been significantly diluted to make it taste good and the price was clearly too expensive. The beef tartare was ok but nothing special, for 19 euros I was able to enjoy much better tartare. Meat has no taste of its own, if it is bitter. In my opinion, the yellow sauce had no place on the plate, and there was no mustard either. Unfortunately, the burger was loveless, not harmonious, the bitter sauce totally interfered with the bun, unfortunately one of the worst burgers for my girlfriend. The side salad was probably with a ready-made sauce, unfortunately of a similar standard. My beef fillet for 66 euros (300g) was ordered medium rare, unfortunately it was fried too hot on the outside, but it was still cold inside and tasted bitter, unfortunately there was no meat taste at all. The oven vegetables with it were ok for 7 euros. Unfortunately we have to agree with the other reviews, the 123 euros were unfortunately not worth the money at all. The prices for the performance - craftsmanship/preparation/seasoning - Quality of products Unfortunately they don't match at all!!!! The service did its best, friendly and attentive 👍 Unfortunately, we won't be coming back again.

The picture describes a dinner there very well: There are certainly great ingredients and it tastes good, but in the picture you see €130 carelessly prepared with the service level of a Munich corner pub. If you “want to go out for a fancy meal” you can go somewhere else for the same price and very good service. If you just want to have a nice evening, just order a cheaper burger here and you won’t be annoyed 😜 We'll be back, but not for the steak, but for the good whiskeys at the bar in winter

It seems like a normal pub, but at €21 per 100g (!) for a normal steak on a par with fine dining. Quality is good, but not very good. Apparently it used to be better.

A place to recommend. Very delicious food! Good attention. The problem is that the meat dishes are very, very expensive.

I'm a bit torn. The food was really good and the kitchen definitely does an excellent job with the high-quality beef, I think there can hardly be any other opinion. The ambience, however, wasn't really my thing. I know a lot of high-quality steakhouses and to be honest, for me the ambience doesn't really reflect the high-quality food. Please don't misunderstand: you definitely come into a clean and well-kept guest room here. But it's more well furnished, middle-class with a certain touch of pragmatism. The service(s) were without exception friendly, although a bit overwhelmed during the European Championship game (Germany was playing, of all places), with the full dining room inside and out. Here I think you have to assess the situation appropriately and say: “Don’t worry about it.” Because when we visited the next day without a Germany game, it was significantly better. What I found really bad, however, was the volume on the first evening. I don't mean the other guests but the football game. It was so loud that I could barely hear my wife. Unfortunately for me this is difficult to understand in a high-quality restaurant. 250g of beef on the plate for €80 and then a football commentator constantly shouting at me about a new hairstyle. I would expect that in a corner bar in Bochum, but honestly not here. Football fever in all respects, but 20 decibels quieter, would have worked too. On the second evening, when I don't know what I was playing against (;-)), it was much more pleasant, even though the game, including the sound, was running at an acceptable volume. All in all, it's worth a visit, you have to be fair. The food is without exception good and the waitresses are friendly. You can only find fault here at a high level, which I think is okay at €100+ per person. For me it was really as rated above: food great, service good, ambience mediocre.

Everything is right here. Service, ambience, offer, location and price (not cheap but more than fair and reasonable) will become a permanent goal of my visits to Munich

Good afternoon, I want to leave this review so that the owner of this good restaurant realizes the kind of worker he has in his restaurant. On July 20, I went with my best friend and we received very bad attention from one of her employees. We are two very educated and respectful women. We returned on July 21 because we really loved the food and the same situation comes back and repeats itself, serving in a bad way, talking ugly and placing the plates reluctantly. We don't understand her attitude. If he is a person who is not trained in customer service, do not make him serve your clients. The restaurant is all too delicious but because of his attitude unfortunately we will not return and we really notice that it is like that with everyone.

Update: was pretty good and tasty. Meat was of good quality. ___________ We were a larger group. Unfortunately, the meat is far too tough for the price and has a lot of flax. €30 for a 300g dryaged beef is too much. Too bad. That's what my colleagues meant too. Side dishes are great. Taste good too. Burgers were good though. It was a long wait for service, but it was better on a previous visit. Overall therefore only 2 stars.

I recently dined at KvR Kapitales vom Rind, and it was an incredible experience! I ordered the Rib Eye, and it was the best steak I've ever had. The meat was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-notch steak dining experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

The products are great and taste very, very good. I can choose the meat myself at a counter. The butcher cuts the piece of meat directly on site. But everyone has to know for themselves whether a 300 g entrecote has to cost €84. If a steak costs three times as much as in another restaurant and tastes three times better, I dare to doubt it. The service was very quick, reliable but not overly friendly. Just normal.

Simply the best steak in and around Munich. Great selection, good concept and nice staff. I would recommend everyone to make a reservation otherwise it will look bad in the evening. Now a little information about the price, good meat also costs. You should expect to pay €70 - €80 for food and drinks for 1 person.

I felt very comfortable all around.

The meat was good, but still not appropriate for the price; overpriced. The service was inattentive and very brief, even though there was almost nothing going on in the restaurant.

Only about 30% of the tables were in use. We had reserved and got the place at the toilet, although enough other tables were and remained free throughout. There wasn't much going on in general, so the service was obviously lacking. The furnishings are nice so far, but one of the large lights kept flickering. One steak out of three wasn't really ready yet (ordered medium rare / received rare) Some improvements were made... The other two as ordered. One person had overlooked the sauces on the menu and was fobbed off with the statement "it's on the menu". The query about one of the sauces was only answered very imprecisely. When it took a while until someone came after dinner, I asked for the menu again so I could choose desserts. The waiter disappeared but came back without one. Went to another table and cashed in. Then went from the table to another and cashed in there too. I then got the card from the lady at the bar. Just as I got the cards the waiter came and asked what desserts we wanted. So please take a few minutes to read... Ordered three desserts and waited 28 minutes for them. When we paid the bill, we were not charged for the three desserts, with a request for forgiveness and the statement that it normally wouldn't take that long. All in all, the food was good so far, but the service wasn't commensurate with the rather high prices. They were particularly friendly and particularly motivated or helpful. (Except the lady at the bar) Looking at the other reviews here, we're probably not the only ones who see it that way. It depends on the service and in my opinion there is potential! I will try another restaurant next time I have steak. Btw. The US Ribeye shown in the picture was 0.353kg at €240 per kg = €84

Been there more often lately. All in all, really TOP. The really great service and the excellent tasting food are unparalleled in Munich. No matter when we were there, the staff was always polite and on their toes. To those who complain about the service, 2 points: 1.always remember, just like you call into the forest, like that….. 2. In this day and age we should all be happy and grateful that service providers like this still exist... A HUGE THANK YOU from my side...and please keep it up...!!! We will definitely be happy to come back again and again👍👍👍

There were two of us during the week and we paid just under €400.00 for the evening. The prices for the steaks are "juicy" T-bone steak 780 gr. ~200 €, unfortunately the taste and quality did not convince us. The steak came to the table sliced, which was nice but was cold within a few minutes. The gins were prepared without any love and therefore tasted modest. We will no longer visit the restaurant because the price/performance ratio does not match at all. It should be positively mentioned that our criticism was taken into account and a discount (enclosures) was granted.

Price performance is not right at all. The meat was tasty but not special. It was ordered medium but it was more like medium well to well. When the waitress asked about it, they simply responded with “ah ok, sorry”. At least at They didn't do anything wrong with beer.

Unfortunately disappointing. Food was ok but not particularly good, and therefore P/L was not appropriate. The medium beef fillet was served medium rare, the sweet potato fries were oversalted. But the mousse for the bedside table was very good. Service was also good and the reason why 3 stars.

The first waiter wasn't very good, the second was efficient and good. He became nice after the tip! Otherwise the meat, exceptional, excellent, wonderful! I recommend the restaurant, not because of the service, very limited, but because of the quality of the meat!

This place is GREAT. We got the octopus salad, filet mignon, US ribeye, mushrooms, gratin and Caesar salad, and every thing was excellent. We had a couple of drinks and a starter before getting steaks (overall spent about 4 hours there), then finally ordered steaks and a bottle of wine. We were there on a Friday night from around 17:45-21:45 and there were available tables all night, which I’m honestly shocked by because the quality/price ratio are really good for Munich. You go up to a butcher counter and order the cut and cook for your steak, then the waiter takes your order for the sides/extras. Highlights: - Great meat quality/perfect cook. - The restaurant is quite big and noisy enough that you can have conversations without whispering (not loud, just comfortable). - The wine list is excellent. - The cocktails are strong. - It’s possible to get a table without a reservation for dinner on a weekend. Overall highly recommend!

Luckily we came across here. It is located on the ground floor of such a beautiful green building. Since we were not hungry, we ate lemonade and apple pie and the presentation, service and flavor were legendary. The employees were very good. They could speak English and were very well-intentioned. (they offered some meat to our dog and this made our dog extremely happy 🥹🫰🏻) Also, the toilets were very clean.

The reception in the restaurant was not particularly friendly. And so, unfortunately, you go into the visit with a negative feeling. The meat that was ordered medium rare was unfortunately cooked through. However, this was replaced without any problems and was very tasty on the second try. In principle, however, one imagines a slightly more active service for a restaurant in this price range.

Steak was good, but overpriced for the price, unfortunately served cold (rare is heavy but at least warm plates for the price of almost 50 euros per 200 grams), service was unfortunately not exactly brilliant either, waited forever for the food (almost 1, 5 hours) Drinks after the first round also came late. The meat was certainly the most expensive we have ever eaten. But it was definitely the best, really excellent. Super tender, grilled to perfection, it couldn't be better. The side dishes, sweet potato fries and grilled vegetables, were also very good and tasty. The service was very friendly, quick and attentive, the atmosphere was very good.

Unfortunately the meat was too dry. Had 2 large dry aged high loin steaks. I would have expected a little more for 90 euros per piece.

As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was skeptical as to whether I would like to eat high-quality food in a Bavarian beer hall. The atmosphere takes some getting used to. Loud and quite rustic. Doesn't fit the offer for me. The service was really not good. Very long waiting time and unfortunately very little charm. Not very attentive, there wasn't even bread or anything at the front. A bit minimalistic when you look at the total at the end. Unfortunately, the waiter had the feeling that he would rather be somewhere else. No charm, no passion. No finesse. A pity. The food was very salty. It was ok, but not great. Overall, not a nice experience.

The meat is amazing! Best quality. Depending on the space, the ambience is rather cool. Our waitress was very arrogant and bossy. Nevertheless, we will always go back because of the food!
