We went as a group and ordered most of the special steaks on offer. The Tira de Ancho Ribeye had quite a lot of fat and tissues that were a real struggle to cut, the Tira de Cuadril Rump Steak with the special Churrasco sauce was also underwhelming. For steaks at this price level, even in Munich, one can expect a medium rare steak to be uniformly pink inside with a minimum layer of "well-done" meat under a beautifully seared crust. Most steaks at our table were not like that, the 800g Ribeye for instance were cut into 6 pieces and the two end pieces were more like well done. The crust was not very even either. The seasoning was also done quite plain with relatively limited sauce options compared to other Munich steakhouses. Then there are the sides, we each ordered some sides like prawns and fries. One of the fries did not arrive when almost everyone had finished their steaks. Then for the three king prawns ordered for 3 different people, two of them were served in one small bowl without telling, so one person was waiting for his side dish only to realize that it had been served and he needed to order again. The restaurant also went lights out completely dark for birthdays, which was OK at the beginning but started getting a bit disturbing for the 4-5th time in an hour.

We were there last week. Very very bad service! The waitress was super annoyed and rude. Unfortunately, the meat was rare (really bloody) instead of medium, but the waitress simply avoided eye contact and ignored us. Definitely not recommended!

Steaks waren auf den Punkt gegart, die Dry Age Cuts sind sehr zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Location hat uns ebenfalls gefallen, wir hatten einen Tisch auf der Terasse ähnlich einem Innenhof.

Come here every year for our anniversary. Very tasty steaks and the side dishes are also highly recommended!

Nette Atmosphäre, netter Service, aber: ab 22:30 Uhr wird das Gefühl vermittelt, gehen zu sollen (Licht an etc.) und vor allem: Fleisch enttäuschend (wir hatten ein 200 Euro-Steak und das war nix!).

The food didn't come to the table at the same time even though the restaurant was empty. The toast with the tartare was cold. After complaining, the new one took 15 minutes. The steak was brought about 20 minutes after the other meals instead of medium, rare and without the side dishes ordered, which took another 15 minutes. Conclusion: never again!!! We're going to Little London again!

Best steakhouse in town! It's now our home steakhouse! Great service, delicious food, best quality! Thank you very much! I can't understand the bad comments! What if I have to wait 15 minutes? So please…. Where is the bus?…… And for those who think the cooking level wasn't right - please tell the waiter! Do you even know what medium is?

Amazing experience!! Even though we got there too late at night and the kitchen was closed, they still managed to serve us a small appetizer and tasteful drinks. And the wonderful, sweet, empathetic waitress Mira made us feel so welcomed that we decided to dine at this restaurant much more often.

Nico our host, was great. Even though there was an issue with our reservation, we’ve had a lovely evening. The meat is obviously their star item and don’t get me wrong it was wonderful. But also, try the starters like hummus and salami, also the baked potato and spinach tastes great. Probably will come back every 3-4 weeks.

I went there yesterday with a friend after we had been wanting to go out for steak for a long time. I was there two years ago with my company and absolutely loved it both then and yesterday! Service, quality, friendliness, ambience... Absolutely top! We sat outside in the great weather (reservation is a must). All of this justifies the prices. If you want to eat tastefully in a great atmosphere and like meat, this is the right place for you!

Unfortunately the quality and the service of this restaurant dropped dramatically. I wanted to celebrate my birthday but I didn´t have a great night. We waited half an hour before order, then not all the appetizer were available. We asked for bread, but it was really a bad quality, like the one for the toast. We asked to stay outside in the garden, but then we had to move inside for the neighbors. The main dish arrived one hour later even if the restaurant was empty. Also the steak was not good, it was too cooked and not so tasty. Then we asked for the dessert and they told us the kitchen was closed, without informed us before. We could just order ice-cream with coffee but it was really ridiculous. We had to share with two spoon half ice-cream ball. I will not recommend this restaurant anymore. For the money are you spending the service and the food is not worth.

We made reservations after gotten recomandations from friends, so we were looking forward to this visit. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and escorted to our table, We got recomended drinks, and got to order our food. The wait was a little long, but the food was absolutely great! Nice steaks, chicken breast and side dishes, well worth the wait! We got desert, coffee and drinks after, recomend the chocolate brownie!

An excellent steak & wine restaurant, who have surprisingly good padron peppers as well. The house Argentinian Malbec is lovely and reasonably priced for a wine pairing. Steak fries also excellent every time. Love this place, the mains are where it's at, there's often room for two even when busy. Dessert not bad but after such excellent mains not worth it I think.

Food ok for the price but not more. Service, however, was catastrophic. Drinks were forgotten, starters only came when asked again. Side dishes did not come with the main course. Empty glasses stood on our table for ages and were not put away. And in the end there were even drinks on the bill that we never got.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The food and wine was amazing. The service however could get some improvement.

Today I enjoyed a very nice dinner with 3 colleagues at this restaurant. The steak was great and our waiter was nice. I enjoyed the evening until the waiter made it clear that he was not happy with the tip I gave on top of the bill he presented. I experienced that as very rude, because no matter how much I give as a tip, he should have been thankful, even if it is not what he expected. Was I happy with the service? Actually, no, the appetizer took long, the main course took about 1 hour (at another table serving a steak took only 15 minutes) . When the main course was served, we asked for some more wine, which came when we almost finished our steak.. So, yes, my tip was not high, .but after the reaction of the waiter, I actually regret giving a tip at all…. Not a nice ending of the evening…

I was at El Gaucho on Monday evening. We got a nice seat without a reservation and the nice gentleman immediately gave us the aperitif menu with a recommendation of the cremant, which was not on the menu. The steaks were excellent, we had fillet and ribeye, cooking points were perfect. All in all a wonderful evening with very good food, nice wines and excellent service. We'll be back!

Rarely have I felt so picked up in Munich! Great food and great service, they know how it's done.

I met up with friends for dinner at El Gaucho and it was really a very successful evening. Our steaks, which we were recommended, were great and perfect. The waiter who served us was extremely helpful and very competent, especially when it came to recommending wine. We'll be back.

The place to be in Munich city! If you are looking for a perfect evening in the city of Munich, you have come to the right place. The service welcomed us very warmly and on top of that we had the perfect fried steak with side dishes - simply great! (Vegetarians won't miss out in a steak restaurant either). Also worth mentioning is the young host Lukas, who runs the restaurant in this top location very well. We will definitely come back and recommend it to others!

I was here recently with family. A great restaurant in the middle of Munich city center. Great welcome and a great atmosphere. The food was very, very good. A steak (everything is available here and everything tastes great; I tried it out a bit in the group ;) ) with the El Gaucho truffle gnocchis are absolutely recommended. An absolute tip for Munich residents who would like to eat a steak. And the drinks are awesome too :)

The highlight was of course the steak. Perfectly fried to perfection, tender and juicy, with a wonderful crust and a wonderful aroma. The side dishes were also delicious and the wine selection was excellent.

A big compliment to the kitchen – they really understand good meat here! I can recommend El Gaucho to anyone who wants to enjoy an excellent steak in a pleasant atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

I recently stayed at El Gaucho and absolutely loved it! From the start the service was excellent - the staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The ambience is cozy and stylish, perfect for a special evening.

The meat was very tasty, which is what you would expect given the price. Service bored, slow and inattentive. A 20€ tip was probably not enough for bad service, no thanks and just a grumpy look. Even bread with butter as a usual starter has to be ordered separately and costs extra. I've never experienced anything like this in a halfway good restaurant. All in all, a big bubble. You can save yourself.

Food okay. Service that evening was arrogant to the point of being arrogant. I decide how I eat my steak and I won't let anyone talk about it!

Was there on a Friday evening. I was really looking forward to El Gaucho in Munich because I know the excellent houses in Graz and Vienna. Unfortunately, the quality of service was so inadequate that I can only give it 3 stars. We had to wait 25 minutes for a beer, an ashtray was handed to us after asking twice, and starters were cleared away before we were finished. We felt a bit like we were being looked down upon as we weren't interested in the 1000gr Dry Age Porterhouse but wanted a smaller piece - which wasn't available. The food was, as usual from El Gaucho, very good. Nevertheless, I will not visit the store in Munich again.

Service friendly. Steaks exactly how we wanted them. Nice atmosphere with soft South American music in the background so you could have a good conversation.

Friendly service, which was unfortunately too rare at our table... too few service staff for the many guests. The Ribeye La Pimienta was perfectly cooked, but unfortunately the taste was compromised by the overly salty herb butter. The Asian beef tartare was very tasty.

We were kindly brought to the table with the advice that we could stay for a maximum of 2 hours. The food: Completely overpriced, Tomahawk was ordered medium, T-Bone is more likely to be served. Completely carelessly prepared, the naked steak was simply slapped onto the plate. The burger was nothing, soggy, tasted like cucumber and vinegar... So for a bill of 180 euros at the end for 2 people you somehow expect something different!!!! Definitely not a recommendation.

I went there with anticipation on the recommendation of several parties - I thought I would treat myself if I let out the 600g kings cut, unfortunately it arrived on cold plates instead of medium rare, half cooked, for 70€ in a 'steak house' such a tough, lukewarm piece of meat (which took forever), and I had to pay extra for every little piece of side dish, which really wasn't worth it - the ambience/music and wine were again really pleasant, the starters were bread and olives +hummus combo was the best in terms of taste, so you can have a little wine, but I can't recommend anything else

El Gaucho at Vikimarkt was pleasant. The top grilled rib-eye steak and the service were excellent. Sides were a bit very salty and the chanterelles, made as a kind of goulash, were unfortunately very mushy and bland. The price is absolutely right for the location. Extensive wine list and good cocktails

Ate at El Gaucho last night and had one of the best steaks of my life! We were served by a lovely young man who was very attentive and welcoming! We highly recommend El Gaucho and will definitely be back next time we are in Munich.

A pleasant and comfortable place, taking two period resettation to tables, different sizes of T-bone's available.

As a matter of fact, I'm visiting El Gaucho again and I'm saying it for the umpteenth time it's mandatory to visit and dine in this Restaurant. They have high quality steaks, but I haven't tried the dry-aged one yet, so cannot comment them. Try the goose liver, it's so tender that it melts in your mouth or pimp your steak with soft shell crab. Most people order steak fries but try something different next time, the truffle gnocchi, very delicious 🤤 How to reach the Restaurant: best with public transportation to station Marienplatz, then 5 to less than 10 min. of walk. Parking spots could be available if you are lucky, but there's a parking garage next to restaurant.

Apparently if you show up without a reservation they're entitled to disrespect you and watch a football game instead of answering you whether there's a free table or not.

Very disappointed !!!!. visiting Munich and took a friend there for Dinner. Initially, staff was very engaging and friendly. However,shortly after meals were delivered, our waiter pretty much disappeared. No refill of wines and general lack of attention. It was a birthday celebration and we were not offered a dessert menu. I had to ask for one and staff member looked at his watch. They closed in 1.5 hours and he seemed inconvenienced. Never an offer of coffee etc. When the waiter reappeared and presented the check, he had the nerve to mention a tip. PLEASE! I declined....tip for what......? To continue, the steaks were mediocre at best and tough. Not the amazing beef they seem to advertise. We Paid almost $200 and it was a very sad meal. Never will I eat here or recommend for my friends and colleagues visiting Munich..

Underwhelming. Nice student in service. Stinkingly normal Munich butcher meat, arbitrary degree of doneness, sloppily presented. Price-performance ratio completely incredible. Worst mashed potatoes since weather records began: hand blender paste!! That this still exists... No. A real tourist trap.

For me, the food at El Gaucho had two faces. The steak is excellent. The meat quality, cooking point and taste were really excellent and absolutely worth the price. In my opinion, the supplements, on the other hand, urgently need to be reconsidered. Both the grilled vegetables and humitas were seasoned completely inappropriately for me - somehow like a cheap ready-made spice mix (which was certainly not used). Unfortunately, the delicious steak is a bit lacking in taste…

Good wines, good service, acceptable food. The steak cuts are a good size and relatively sturdy to cut for the long preparation time, but I would have expected more for the price. Side dishes and sauces were ok.

Ended up having a fantastic steak dinner. We had a reservation but at first they seated us in the auxiliary back room with a couple of large/loud groups. We politely asked to be re-seated in the main dining room and were accommodated right away. We shared a dry aged ribeye steak and it was tender, juicy, and delicious - cooked to medium rare perfection. Green beans with bacon were also delish. Had a slice of seared foie gras which was divine. Service was perfect.

A top location for meat eaters :) - the seating isn't always ideal because unfortunately everything is much too close together - you just want to get the most out of it; understandable from a business perspective, less so from a guest perspective; hence a star deduction. But still worth a visit every now and then.

Well located steak restaurant right on the Viktualienmarkt. Very chic interior inside, very large terrace outside. Open kitchen where you can take a look and watch the steaks being grilled. Excellent cuisine. The menu covers many steak variants. The tender meat was to die for. The service at our table left something to be desired. It was nice, but something was always forgotten. Still a recommended steak restaurant.

We got a table quickly without making a reservation and the food was a dream! Really delicious

waiter came to us once then ignored us while chatting up everyone close to us, steak came out cold and much rarer than ordered, didn’t bring out our drinks and then tried to press me about a tip, sorry but i paid a 140 bucks for cold food that made us sick, what I’m assuming is discrimination but could just be their own issues and drinks that came after our meal. Total let down.

Visited with high hopes of a wonderful evening of quality food and service. Sadly, this restaurant is disappointing. Its noisy, crowded and the service is ridiculously slow. After order the main course, we waited two hours for it to be served. At least the steak when served was really good! but it didn't compensate for the incredible length of time it took to be served, leaving the group frustrated and annoyed. Little by way of apology from the restaurant. Needless to say, I won't be going again.

Great Argentinian place in München, 1st class meat, great service and atmosphere.

Booked a table of 5 for my 60th Birthday dinner at 21.20 through their website table reservation system. Table confirmed online, and via email. Turn up. "Oh sorry the kitchen is closed, there is an error on our website". This venue was recommended to us by another restaurant as a great place. Well. Obviously our view is the place is a total croc of *****, as you really can't trust them, and would certainly never recommend them, or trust them again. Just appalling. My recommendation is to look elsewhere, anyware, McDonald's is probably better, as this place is clearly a joke.

The quality of the food is A1. Everything else... well. But from the beginning. Ten of us were there on a Saturday and about 90 minutes early. Nevertheless, they already had our table ready for 7 p.m. So we drank a few more beers first. Ordering the food was quick and orderly. However, a lamb's lettuce was missing from the starter - half-hearted apology but quick delivery. For the main course, eight meat dishes were served correctly; instead of the rump steak there was a fillet and the gaucho skewer was completely missing. The waiter apologized and mumbled something about a faulty "key". About 15 minutes later the rest was delivered. But because this had to be done quickly, the meat was far from the required “well-done” and had to go back on the stove. By now the side dishes would have been cold for a long time and that's why we've already eaten them. After a short time, the correct degree of doneness was achieved and everything worked again - until the bill: Of course, the wrong piece of fillet that was delivered was also there! No apology, just an "Oh"! I don't think any of us will visit the Gaucho again.

Food ok but service not. Food is brought to the table that we didn't order and we were billed for it. We ordered glasses of wine, i.e. one bottle, the waiter pours it wrongly and opens another bottle and charges us for the whole bottle of which we drank half a glass.

The food was good, the drinks were not shared among the group, but one person had to pay for everyone's drinks. Appetizers were brought to the table and charged for, even though they were not ordered.

Funding mood. Appetizers that were not ordered were brought and charged for. An extra bottle was opened that was not drunk and was charged.

The waitress poured wines incorrectly and we had to open second bottle for like 2cl of wine. When we payed the bill, we had to pay for those 2 bottles. The waitress sad that you can't pay for one glass (since when?). Not cool at all

They brought and charged the party for food that we did not order, e.g. appetizers. However, the food was good and of high quality. You should be careful when tipping, the waiter added the tip to the price randomly, regardless of the customer's choice, 5%, 8% or 10%. However, all of them had more than 10%.

The food was good, but the waiter was rude. We were served by a black man. He brought us appetizer breads even though we didn't order them. We thought this was a welcome gift, but we had to pay for them. The service was also relatively slow. The 5% I chose changed to 12%. The food was ok, but unfortunately, at the end of the meal, I was left with a bad feeling.

Probably the best aspect. Service: The waiter was very friendly but drink and food orders were very alow, even though the restaurant was relatively empty. Prices: Prices are rather high, especially considering the quality of service and food. Conclusion: Value for money is not there. I'm happy to pay that kond of money for good quality and service. In the absence of both I unfortunately cannot recommend El Gaucho.
