Block House in München

The restaurant was quite good. Pham provided excellent service—friendly and pleasant. Overall, a nice experience, thank you.

We visited Block House in Munich for the first time yesterday. Since I enjoy eating and preparing steak myself, I was very disappointed with the prime rump steak (300g) for €36. It was medium-rare, and the 300g was definitely not worth €300. The burgers on the menu are confusing, as they only serve bread with the patty on it, and the €14 turkey salad was barely bigger than my side salad. The service was very friendly, but visibly overwhelmed (the restaurant wasn't even half full). We would have liked more to drink with our meal, but they only asked us quickly if it was okay. If we wanted to say something, they were already gone. During the time we were there, at least two other guests felt the same way. In conclusion: if you're really hungry, you should go to another restaurant. Unfortunately, they don't offer much for their money.

My choise Hereford Rib-Eye medium raw was juicy and tender, more juicy and tender than Mr. Rumpsteak of my partner. She mentioned to take the Rib-Eye on our next visit. Yes, there will be next visit. Had a chance to check the mighty T-Bone: would have been a good choise also! Salad: juicy but somewhat regular. Super service: was a jolly friendly move to bring sekt glasses with birhtday song of Stevie Wonder to celebrate one of us! :-)

The food was, as always, top-notch! But I'm used to a different kind of service. First, I had to wait 20 minutes before I could order a drink, which I was understanding about since it had just started pouring and everything had to be put away safely. But then: Ordered the meat medium/well, got it cooked in English. Ordered a second loaf of bread, which was questioned twice. We also asked for a second portion of sour cream, but we only got one, so we ordered again. The meat, of course, was changed! It's certainly not easy working there, but it would have been good if the young man who served us had a bit more confidence in the language and didn't have to question everything.

Very nice family oriented restaurant. The first time I expirenced such service. The kids got something to paint, and then almost immediately after ordering food they got their dishes. Everything so delicious. Very good steaks. Salad with refreshing dressing. Stuff very friendly and welcoming. It was a pleasure. Thank you 😊

After being put off by another steakhouse chain and still craving steak, we decided to go to Block House Leopoldstr. We don't regret this decision at all! The service was prompt, the food was prepared quickly, and it was delicious. We'll only be going here from now on. They even gave my child a beach ball.

Emir was fantastic, a very friendly waitress, and very funny! His friendly and positive manner made our evening truly special.

It's located on the road leading to Marienplatz, an avenue lined with restaurants. The place is very cute, and the staff is friendly and smiling (which is unusual in Germany, so it's appreciated). The meat is delicious. Recommended

The steak wasn't tender at all, but had a decent flavour. The potato wasn't thoroughly cooked and not edible and then you get some cheap toasted bread. No greens, no nothing. Overall disappointing experience, can't recommend, we won't come back!

Raw steak even though I ordered medium

We ate there today. Getting a table was no problem at all on a Friday evening at 6 p.m. The food was mediocre: we ordered and received a medium-rare steak. The side dish was a very dry and overcooked baked potato with a tiny dollop of sour cream. It was served with a tough piece of garlic baguette. The salad was okay. All this for €25 is okay, but not a bargain. Drinks were normal Munich prices. I would describe the service as "they always made an effort"... not exactly overly friendly and at times inattentive. (Empty glasses could mean someone would like another drink!) All in all, no reason for us to go there again.

Not great quality for a BLOCK HOUSE. The meat wasn't particularly tasty, and the baked potato was unfortunately very burnt. Some of the staff weren't very motivated. I'm disappointed with this place.

We had really great and friendly service, the steaks were OK, but I can't understand how everyone can praise this steak house! Then you've never really eaten steak before, everything was carelessly prepared, the fries were soggy, and the gratin and sauces tasted like canteen food! It's a real shame 😖 for us it was the first and last time.

The food was delicious. You're served quickly, and you don't have to wait long for your food or drink. The atmosphere is nice, too. The only real downside is that the waiters throw the dishes into their serving carts like there's no tomorrow. The noise makes eating no fun, and you just gulp it down. What a shame.

The food was great; about €25 for a super juicy steak with two side dishes and a large salad seems more than fair to me. The lava cake with ice cream and raspberry sauce was a bit small for €7, but it tasted fantastic. The young waiter was very friendly and accommodating.

Dear Block House team, we visited you again and it was, as always, absolutely fantastic. Today, we have to highlight: Abdel had our table. According to the name tag, he was a trainee. As always, it tasted good. Unfortunately, our steak wasn't quite as tender as usual, so there was nothing else to it. The waitresses were super friendly.

A solid restaurant with a nice rustic atmosphere. Very good quality meat, recommended for all steak lovers. Large selection of dishes, including lunch menus and weekly specials, are offered. Fast and friendly service. The only point of criticism is that the cheese burger unfortunately doesn't have much in common with a classic burger, this should definitely be mentioned in the menu!

We're regulars and always celebrate our birthdays here – this was the last time. We waited over 2 hours for the food. When I complained, they 'doubted' it because "they have to check the system to see when we ordered." What a disgrace! We were also here with a small child, who, of course, didn't sit still at the table and wait for 2 hours... Thanks for no service.

I've been going to block house since 2012 and honestly love the food and the quality is still perfect after 13 years. The filet Mignon medium rare is just always perfect!! But today I've had experienced the worst service ever. I might not be accustomed to the German way of drinking beer during work, but when my waiter stands there drinking beer at the bar and talking to his colleagues literally ignoring all his customers and im left trying to pay so i can leave for 10 minutes. Thats just not acceptable. (Pictures added to the review) Please do a proper check on the quality of the people hired, your food is too good to be ruined by a bad service experience.

Ι was recently in this restaurant which is a chain restaurant in Germany . We had burata tomato salad( very fresh) and a Rib-eye master cut which was really great...The meat was very well cooked and with a side baked potato really tasty ..The desert chocolate lava with ice cream was also very good . But I would really like to mention the excellent service of Vasiliki our waitress was very efficient and warm ..A great dinner in conclusion...Prices are reasonable 30-50 euro depending on the wine or beer you will have

I reserved a table for myself and my family. Since there was no member of staff at the entrance, we went in and waited until someone spoke to us. When I politely asked Ms. Bianca if we could sit at the table, she said in an aggressive tone, "No, you are not allowed to sit here. You have to wait at the entrance until I call you." I did not like her tone and the way she behaved towards me at all. I don't normally put up with that kind of thing, but I didn't want to argue with her in front of my family. You don't talk to a customer like that; you could have said it politely and not in such a tone. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the service very friendly. That's why it's not giving me two stars and not one. Ms. Bianca is very unprofessional, and people like that lose a lot of customers.

Every time I go to Munich, I go at least once for lunch or dinner. Good food, great service and a place to go with kids.

In the middle of the Leopold. There are plenty of parking spaces on Leopold. Very interesting approach: since the general price increase for everything, the Blockhaus decided to keep the prices the same, but reduce the portions a little. It tastes excellent, typical of log cabins.

We happened to eat at the Blockhouse on Leo today, as not many restaurants are open at 4 p.m. on Sundays. You often have concerns when you eat out at larger restaurant chains, but we were extremely pleasantly surprised! Great starters, salads, steaks, desserts and even my sister's vegetarian curry was a success. The service was also extremely friendly & quick. Any time!

1 star – Never again! We were literally tricked! First a waiter seated us, so we stayed at the table and waited as normal - but then another employee came and suddenly asked us to leave, saying we had not been seated. Absolutely unprofessional! And as if that wasn't bad enough, we were also called stupid in this context - an unbelievable behavior that you wouldn't want to imagine in the catering industry. The waiter later apologized, but even then there was no respect: no handshake, no real attempt to make things right. Just embarrassing. We felt completely humiliated as guests. This is not how you treat anyone - especially not in a restaurant that claims to focus on service and hospitality. It's clear to us: we'll never come back.

For nostalgic reasons, we reserved a table for dinner here again after 15 years. The steak was exactly medium rear as requested, the salad dressing from the side salad also tasted very good, only the fries were a bit hard. But all in all it was worth the visit again. Our service was also very courteous and nice. Everything was just as delicious as we remembered it the last time we visited Munich.

For a whopping EUR 15, a tired meatball called a 'burger' (not even a cold slice of tomato, not a single slice of pickled cucumber - with a filling side dish That's a cheeky thirty marks! the beer for a cheeky EUR 5 10 marks for 0.5 glass with max. 0.4L filling!? in total 20.5 EUR = 41 DM!! I refuse to give any advice - they have already pocketed the fat margin, bag closed! You read that one “restaurant” after the other in Munich has to close - and rightly so! And please: keep it up! No, the store saw me for the first and last time!

Oh YES! The very best thing was our table lady = service. But, she really was a table lady. So friendly, so natural, so loving! Of course our food was also great! Thank you very much for all of this! It was a special experience - guests are valued. THANKS! (Only there is no lift to the toilet, which is not great for people with walking difficulties.)

Service was so bad, unprofessional and disrespectful

It was my first time at BLOCK HOUSE Munich and I was really pleasantly surprised. The steak was great – perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. But what really blew me away was the baked potato with the sour cream. So simple, but so good – warm, creamy, seasoned just right. I would also particularly like to praise the service: despite the late hour, shortly before closing time, the staff were in a good mood, friendly and even willing to joke around. You felt welcome - and for me that's what makes a good restaurant. I'll definitely be back!

Very disappointing. We were told on the phone that sitting outside couldn't be reserved, but that it wasn't a problem with a short wait. On site it's completely different: stuffy tone, no organization at all, we should just stand outside and hope that something becomes available. No trace of the “wait a moment and then it will be assigned” as promised on the phone. Unfortunately, things weren't any better inside: unfriendly service, hardly any knowledge of German, no idea about the menu. My steak came out completely rare instead of medium rare, without the herb butter, which was expressly confirmed to me beforehand. Same with my husband's burger - sour cream was promised but didn't come. When we asked politely, we were simply charged extra for both. Paid over 110 euros for two people - and for that bad service, wrong food, unprofessional staff.

There are better, nicer, quieter, more attentive restaurants and waitresses. Lunch: The 4 pieces of meat were more like 1-2 euros each... you would have had to order 3 portions to feel full. The price was too high for this little thing! To compensate, the service was...also careless. Therefore we will prefer to find somewhere else to eat.

Block House typically great food. I like to come here again and again! Unfortunately, service was not learned and sometimes unmotivated. No dessert was offered, nor was anyone asked if everything was OK. Also sometimes bumped into things while clearing away. Otherwise ok.

The head waitress was extremely unfriendly. The restaurant wasn't fully occupied but she made us and 8 other people wait at the door for a long time. When I brought it up she was really bitchy. On the way to the toilet there was an extreme smell of urine at the top of the stairs, like a litter box that hadn't been cleaned for two months and it was very dirty. So in the catering industry this is absolutely reprehensible. I'll report this too! Because of the poor service and the dirty toilets, I decided not to tip and immediately noticed the waiter's bad mood. Absolutely not recommended, there are better restaurants

The food tastes really good here! However, the service clearly leaves a lot to be desired. The employees are unmotivated, not friendly and don't ask anything.

After posting a five-star review here for years, I now have to change my mind. The last three times I've been there, the quality has been nothing short of disappointing, and what's even more outrageous are these AI-like, pre-written standard responses to people who criticize. Someone says they didn't like the food, and you reply, "It's great that you're our guest." It makes you feel like you've been completely ripped off.

The portions have now become incredibly small. Here you can see a filet mignon (29€), it used to be 180 grams, now only 160 grams and I dare to doubt even that... Otherwise everything was OK.

A piece of Mrs Rumpsteak was charred on the outside and fully cooked on the inside, not the medium I wanted. The broth for the appetizer tasted okay, but unfortunately the tray was incomplete and there were oily finger prints from the waitress🤨

I ate one of the best meats I have ever eaten at this place. I don't remember exactly what I ate, but it must have been €26 or €28. It tasted amazing. Along with the meat came potatoes with cheese and sauce, briefly plain baked potatoes, garlic bread and salad. There are also burgers. Drinks were a bit expensive. You can get free jelly beans at the entrance. There are many types of meat and 4 types of burgers. Toilets are clean and the environment is pleasant. A waiter took very good care of us and also spoke a little Turkish. I definitely recommend you go.

I've been to BLOCK HOUSE 4 times now but each time in a different city. I can only recommend it to everyone. The food was relatively quick because it was delicious and fresh. The steak was on point 10/10 or 5/5 stars

Excellent food and exceptional service! We visited The Block for the first time and were immediately impressed by the lovely ambiance. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding! It was beautifully seasoned, the menu was plentiful, and the food was beautifully presented.

Block House Munich – A perfect steak experience! I had the pleasure of visiting the Block House in Munich and can only say: an absolute must for all steak lovers! From start to finish, my visit was a completely successful experience. Ambience & atmosphere The restaurant has a very pleasant, cozy atmosphere. The furnishings are modern, but still rustic and invite you to feel good. Although it was well attended, you didn't feel cramped - everything seemed well organized and structured. service The service was first class! The staff was friendly, attentive and very competent. I was immediately warmly welcomed, my order was taken quickly, and I was regularly asked whether everything was to my satisfaction. That's exactly how it should be! Food & Quality Now to the most important point: the food. I ordered a T-bone steak and it was just perfect! Cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and full of flavor. You can tell that quality is really important here. The side dishes – the crispy Block House bread with delicious garlic butter, the fresh salad and the classic baked potatoes – were also simply outstanding. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired. Whether a good glass of wine with your steak or a refreshing beer – everyone will find something to suit them here. Price-performance I think the prices are absolutely reasonable for the high quality of the food. You really get the best meat, excellent preparation and excellent service - you're happy to pay a little more. Conclusion My visit to the Block House Munich was perfect all around! Everything is just right here: great ambience, top service and, above all, great food. If you want to enjoy a first-class steak in Munich, this is the right place for you. I will definitely come back and can only recommend it to everyone!

Unfortunately I have to agree with the previous review, there are burgers on the menu and what you get is a bad tasting burger patty with a piece of baguette and a baked potato. This has absolutely nothing to do with burgers and the name on the menu is definitely misleading. When I asked the service staff, they simply said that they would inform tourists. Definitely the first and last visit to the Block House.

After 23 years as a regular guest at the Blockhouse Munich, Leopoldstrasse, I have to express my opinion after about 150-180 visits. The fact that prices are rising is unfortunately a given, just like everywhere else - but the fact that quality is falling at the same time doesn't have to be the case. It is even advertised that Blockhouse is lowering the prices, but the fact that the portions have become smaller and unfortunately the quality has suffered massively was not stated in the advertising. Today I had the American Tenderloin - like I've always ordered for years; But now it has reached a level where I can no longer justify paying around €40 for such quality. The outside of the meat was unpleasantly burnt, tough, and of poor quality. The baked potato wasn't cooked through and the Blockhouse bread was burnt all around. When I asked the Asian waiter whether it was tasty, he replied: “I've eaten better here before than this time. And unfortunately I'm not satisfied," I was smiled at with a nod and he disappeared without understanding a single syllable... I certainly don't want to tell you what to do in service, but at least make sure that people understand the guests somewhat. Overall, within 20 years, a great steakhouse has turned into a place that I can no longer eat there or want to eat there. It's a shame. The second star is only there because the people are polite and friendly, but what good is a smile if I can't stop laughing while eating?

My buddy: sirloin steak (160g) with fries Me: Rib-eye steak (400g) - There was a bill under my steak, some of which I ate because I didn't notice it at first (it was probably a greeting from the kitchen) - My friend's cooking level wasn't right and his fries were cold - There was a strong smell of urine in the toilet. Dust was deposited on the taps (I have no idea how you do that in a busy restaurant, but that's how it was). Had the charm of a train station SchXXX house - My rib eye steak was ok; but it used to be better. Meat was good. Salad was fresh and extremely tasty, but the bread turned out really bad I would have laughed at the slip-up with the bill if everything else had worked out. Unfortunately, it only added to my poor overall picture. The waitress was visibly uncomfortable and we got a steak pepper to make up for it. I used to really like the Blockhouse and it was my steakhouse of choice. However, it has decreased significantly, which can also be seen from the reviews of other guests. Overall, it now reminds me of a fast food restaurant. The prices are ok, but the quality and hygiene are so-so...

We first found this brand restaurant in Palma de Mallorca and ate the best rump steak ever... Then we happened to see in Munich that they also have two of them. Only to recommend. Food is delicious. Great staff! Service and atmosphere first class. Always my pleasure.

Many might think Block House is just another steakhouse chain, but in my opinion, it’s one of the best—you always get exactly what you came for. The meat selection is great, and the menu is satisfying and filling. One of the best parts is how family-friendly the place is—if you go with kids, they get something to color on during the meal and even a small present at the end of lunch, which is a nice touch. The staff is always very forthcoming and friendly, making the experience even better. I would always choose to visit this particular branch on Leopoldstraße—highly recommended!

Food delicious as expected. Very nice service. However, I have to say that the toilets were really very dirty and unkempt.

I had a Blockhous Burger and my son a Tenderline Steak. In both cases the baked potato wasn't even lukewarm. For the price I'm used to something different in Hamburg. We were sitting near the counter and it smelled like toilet stone!😳 I told the service, there was no response. Guess he wasn't interested!

I had the hamburger and it's amazing. Don't expect an american burger, they server the burger meat with only one slice of bread (good quality bread) and as side I took delicious grilled vegetables. If you are a meat lover, fully recommended 🍔.
