Absolutely not recommended. Wrong order received, staff didn't care. The manager was also extremely unfriendly and showed zero goodwill.

There was a piece of bone in the food and the manager named “Kengo” was very rude and disrespectful when I confronted him about the piece.

The service is terrible. When you eat for over €100 you expect better service. The staff complained and wanted to speak to the manager who then expelled us from the shop. Food was also inedible for the money!!!

Absolutely amazing restaurant! All dishes were excellent and very tasty. Starters huge, friendly staff a bit expensive, but definitely worth it! We planned to come back!

All the dishes tasted were very appreciated: charcoal taste for the meat, fresh and generous salmon in the sushi, perfect soup. I highly recommend the Krusty curry rice.

We had a confirmed reservation for 13 people. The reservation could not be found in the restaurant, which is not the issue; something like that can happen. No problem at all. But what doesn't work is if you don't even try to solve the mistake you made. Rude and absolutely not helpful. It was referred to the “boss”, but he didn’t show up. After 15 minutes we had enough and looked for an alternative.

We chose this restaurant because we wanted authentic Japanese food and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and we got a table even without a reservation.

I recently visited this restaurant while in another city, unaware of the local break from 14:30 to 17:00, as we’re from Berlin, there’s typically no such break. We arrived around 13:10 and were not informed that the restaurant would close at 14:30. After a 30-minute wait for a table, the staff pressured us to order immediately, even though my friends were delayed due to a train issue. They insisted we needed to order right away because they would be closing soon. Unfortunately, we couldn’t place an order without all our party present. Two male staff members came over to further press us, which felt quite overwhelming. Had we known our time was so limited, we wouldn’t have chosen to dine here. The rushed atmosphere made it impossible to enjoy our meal, which was already overpriced and underwhelming. I tried explaining that we weren’t aware of the early closing time. The staff mentioned it was posted on the door with an attitude, but I’m fairly certain there was no notice about the lunch break (see attached photo). Overall, this experience was disappointing and frustrating. As someone who studies and works in the hospitality industry, it’s disheartening to see restaurants operate this way, treating customers as if they are a burden rather than a priority. The food didn't meet our expectations. The grilled dish was quite salty, and the chicken lacked flavor. However, the udon and unagi dishes were enjoyable. I won’t be returning.

Very tasty sushi - the grilled meat was also convincing. Our experience here was nothing but positive, requests for changes to the menu were addressed and the service was generally very attentive. What we can still work on is the ambience. The walls seemed pretty cool with the white paint, despite a few wooden signs. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality and the concept, but in our opinion it is more for special evenings that can cost a little more. If you have a budget you will be more than happy in other restaurants in the immediate area.

Not worth it if you come exclusively. Glasses weren't even washed and the picture still shows the imprint of the last guest's drink. The print is still sticky 👿 It's disgusting. The service is not that good, the waitress will rarely take the initiative to ask. I ordered a menu in which sushi was done in the front for dozens of minutes no one to go, and finally the others were eaten asked to bring the waiter. The yakitori and beef are honestly still very good. Smells like charcoal, the chef did a good job 👍. Overall it's the service, the cleanliness is minus points

The food is authentically Japanese and at a high price. The service was very good. The ambience, especially the seating, is unfortunately more of a canteen level.

Delicious food like original in Japan. Relaxed Izakaya atmosphere in the main room. You have enough time to eat. It was a bit difficult to reserve a table, but it didn't work out. But we were there spontaneously on Tuesday around 12 p.m. After about 10 minutes of waiting we got the table in the main room. The price is a bit expensive compared to other restaurant nearby, but the quality of food is very good. We can definitely recommend Kushi-Tei.

The sushi I had was decent but for my taste they used too much wasabi. The service was friendly. The atmosphere of the half of the restaurant where one enters is super nice and authentic. The other side where we were sat was less nice because of the bright lights, but ok.

I still can't believe how delicious the food was here!!! I've tried and eaten quite a few dons (those Japanese rice bowls), but the Salmon Ikura don here was the best don of my life, in my opinion 🫶 The staff was also very, very nice. I felt comfortable even though I had to wait a bit for a table. It was Saturday evening, that was to be expected. But it was quick and I will recommend the restaurant 100%! 👏🏼

Great Izakaya that definitely has a Japanese feeling. Very popular, especially from 5 p.m. - reservations are recommended! Prices are definitely in the upper segment: a large Kirin, for example, costs €7.

Yakitori is delicious!! The rice bowls are great and the staff is very friendly. Kirin draft beer is the truth!!

Delicious, best sushi ever tried

Personally, my favorite menu here is the eel rice bowl. I've been to all the other places nearby. The eel rice bowl here is the most delicious and has no fishy smell. I had a light lunch today It's a restaurant I frequent so often that it's a good place to choose.

Food was so good that I came back the following day. Some of the items can be quite pricey if you order a lot i.e, sushi, yakitori skewers, but their lunch bowls are an unbeatable price and delicious. Also the edamame had a nice soybean flavor. Watching the chefs work the fire from the counter is also very impressive and entertaining especially when dining alone.

First visit to the restaurant and we were not disappointed. Service was very friendly and the food was super tasty. When we're there again, we'll definitely go there again.

An authentic sushi and Japanese grill that is delicious. The sushi is fantastic. As a daily special I had two Sanma (pike mackerels) freshly grilled over charcoal, a dream. If you can't and don't want to fly to Japan and still want to eat Japanese food, this is the place to go in Düsseldorf.

sehr schade .. wir hatten auf 20.15 reserviert und waren 30 min zu spät … man teilte uns mit alles vergeben … die tische waren leider noch teilweise lehr … an der tür stand einlass bis 21:15 … noch nicht mal die frage was wir wollten anscheinend kein interesse an kunden zu friedenheit sehr bedauerlich so ein verhalten

I have always been a regular at this restaurant, but in July I had a very disappointing experience. One evening we arrived for dinner and found ourselves waiting behind a family of three. Shortly after they went in, they came back out and my friend and I were invited inside. Just as the waitress was about to seat us, the family returned. The gentleman at the reception then held us back in a rude manner and gave the last free table to the family. When we tried to explain the situation, he said he didn't know who got there first, but assumed we had pushed ahead and sent us back to the entrance. This behavior disappointed us very much!!!

We spontaneously came here for dinner with a small group and got a table straight away. The service was very friendly, we communicated in German and English, but the waiting time during the payment process was very long. The selection of food is great, there are also many vegetarian options. The prices are certainly a bit high, but the food tastes excellent.

Tried the chicken karaage set, grill set, sashimi, some makis and nigiris for lunch. The sushi is really good would def come back for sushi. Grill is okay nice. Chicken karaage portion is huge

Always very busy don’t forget to make a reservation or wait in the line for a long time. The Yakitori was our absolutely favorite and the spicy ramen was very spicy which I like.

We had a wonderful evening with delicious sake, sushi and yakitori. We will go back next time we are near Dusseldorf and would recommend others do the same.

We love going there for lunch as it is often very crowded in the evenings. The quality and the staff are absolutely perfect! Like in Japan :)

Delicious food, good selection of numerous dishes…but the service is unmotivated and inattentive. It took at least 30 minutes before we were even allowed to order a drink. You felt totally unwelcome... Unfortunately, the bad service spoiled the good food….

There was a line before it opened but don’t be fooled, they have two rooms! The chicken teriyaki was teriyakiing. Portions were generous. The staff was nice.

A friend and I more or less spontaneously wanted to go out for a Japanese meal in the evening. At some stores there was a queue(?) in front of the restaurant or snack bar. There was still a place available here for 1 1/2 hours. The restaurant itself has the impression of a snack bar, the photo on Google does not correspond to the restaurant itself, for whatever reason. The waitresses speak Japanese and at most some English. And you have to wave them over more often, they didn't necessarily come by themselves and there were always different ones, which once led to problems when ordering. I thought the food itself was delicious, and the price was certainly in the middle to upper segment. See photos. We sat in the front part, you could smell it later on, the kitchen was open. It was relatively cold in the room next door. I don't know whether we'll go again, there's too much choice on Immermannstrasse.

Great place for yakitori and more! The sushi was fine but definitely not a highlight here. Especially the chicken yakitori.

A must have place I would say. First time here for the lunch menu at €10 for a large portion and high quality yakitori don. It comes with huge chicken thigh, slowly grilled on charcoal. Very tender, outer layer comes with a smoky char flavor. Though it’s only a lunch menu, but they take it very seriously and generously, added lots of ingredients make the meal complete. Kimchi, beansprout, seaweed flakes, teriyaki sauce, mayo sauce, red pepper and a whole grilled green pepper.

After waiting 1 1/2 hours, we were led to the table in joyful anticipation. Unfortunately the ambience is not cozy and not appropriate for the price. I was really looking forward to the omusoba, I had often seen videos of the great omelette being cut. Unfortunately, what I got was not what I expected. It was a completely normal fried omelette without any special technique, which is a shame. The service was okay, but rather mass-produced. My partner's sushi was very good, but not good enough to justify the price. When we came out there was still a huge line. So... standing in line forever is really not worth it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to stand on your feet either.

For someone who eats a lot of Japanese food, I would say the quality is decent and the food was enjoyable. I didn’t find anything overly exciting about it. From a value for money perspective, I found the price points to be pretty aggressive. You’re looking at EU 60-70 for a couple that had one beer between the two of us and didn’t order anything overly fancy. The place was cute. The service was good.

The half hour queue before opening was worth it. Delicious and friendly service and this type of grilled skewers was something new for us. Definitely worth the money.

The taste is average, some things are on the salty side such as grilled mushrooms or soup. I feel like the restaurants next door are better than this one.

Stunning food, everything was perfect. They don’t take bookings on a Saturday so best to get there and line up 15-20 minutes before they open at 12 for lunch. Best Japanese food I’ve had outside of Japan and rivalling the best meals I’ve had there. Every dish was great!

We recently visited Kushi-Tei of Tokyo and I have to say it was excellent. The freshness of the ingredients was second to none and the sushi masters have truly perfected their craft. Every bite was a treat for the senses and the presentation was equally impressive. The service was attentive and friendly, which contributed to an overall successful evening. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, I am unable to rate the food because we were admitted after waiting 30 minutes, but the prices do not seem justified given the circumstances. Although we could see free tables from the queue, the waitresses were overwhelmed with everything. It is therefore advisable to order food if necessary.

We were here for the third time in 3 years. In summary, one has to say that prices have increased since Corona, but at that time this was compensated for with the corresponding quality. However, after visiting yesterday I realized that the prices for individual side dishes are so high that this is no longer justified. Shockingly, in return, the quality has drastically decreased. It was also the first time in my life that I didn't finish a dish because the taste was unacceptable. My food tasted bitter. I know that many Asians are returning home due to the conditions in this country, but as a restaurant you should find a suitable replacement if the chef is missing. I think I won't come here anymore as the competition hasn't become significantly more expensive, but has maintained the quality standard. The restaurant should not rely on only being able to benefit from its good reputation from days gone by. I must also add that we had reserved a seat for 2 consecutive days. I canceled the second reservation because of the experience I had.

The food and service is down grade so much compare with before. So sad that I have to remove it from my favorite list.

Die Mahlzeiten haben eine aussergewöhnlich gute Qualität. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Bei meiner Buchung wurden persönliche Wünsche (z.B. gewünschter Tisch) berücksichtigt. Wenn man eine Flasche Sake bestellt (anstelle Glas), und diese nicht leer trinkt, gibt es die Möglichkeit, seine Flasche verwahren zu lassen bis zum nächsten Besuch. Ich kenne dies aus Asien, aber in Europa habe ich diesen Service bisher nicht erlebt. Wir waren vorher bereits dort und werden bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Düsseldorf sehr sicher wieder dort speisen.

You need to have a reservation to dine here, fine. We tried calling them a week earlier but an automated message you need to come in person. Once you are there, no reservation we are full today. The guy at the desk was so rude and unprofessional. Not even willing to listen or least bother to even show how you do reservation. Even now if you see in maps there is no way you can book a table. Sometimes these restraunts when they grow they treat their customers so bad. Will never go here again, there are tons of Japanese restraunts in the stretch which offers great food and very hospitable. Don't waste your time here.

Very good sushi! Communication with the service a bit difficult.

The chicken katsu’s koromo was a bit too thick for my taste but overall the dishes were tasty. It’s just that how the staffs who served dishes and took orders behaved was a bit weird. They are Japanese but they didn’t have any friendly customer service so I was puzzled since they must know what is a good customer service, coming from Japan. The inside the restaurant is pretty big and can hold many people. It’s kept clean but their menu cards were absolutely dirty and greasy, need of good cleaning.

One of my favourite places in Düsseldorf. Amazing food, amazing service, open kitchen, freshest products. Never any issue here! One can get authentic Japanese cuisine here. I really recommend their sets, grill and/or sushi.

+: The Karaage (€12.80) is an 11/10, super freshly prepared, crispy and juicy. A real dream! The Miso Ramen Veggie also tastes excellent. The noodles are chewy and the broth is very tasty. The Beef Kalbi Don (€29.80) also tastes good, but the meat could have been warmer. Most of the meat is very tender. The portion sizes are generally very well chosen. The staff is attentive and very friendly. You should definitely make a reservation and you will then have a total of 2 hours, which works out very well.

We sat there for an hour without anything to drink. As my daughter was becoming impatient, I took her out for a walk on the street and bought her a bubble tea for her to drink after the meal. When we got back to the restaurant I was told they forgot our order. Instead of showing any gesture of apology, they told us we shouldn’t take the bubble tea into the restaurant. Has it ever occurred to you that I didn’t even need to buy it if you had served us in time? How about some spirit of service to showcase your “authenticity” instead of forcing the ridiculous “no food/drinks from outside” rule on an 8-year-old?

Great restaurant was a highlight of eating there. I liked the restaurant in the front part better because it had more Japanese elements. In the back we sat in a large room that felt a bit cold. The food was delicious but very expensive. Because of the prices, I would think about eating there again, otherwise I would happily go again.

INKOMPETENT: Having sat for 15 minutes, we are informed that the kitchen is closed. No server saw us to come take our order.

Super tasty food, the meat skewers were excellent. However, the portions were very small for the price and you hardly felt full. The service was also good, even though there were seven of us, we didn't have to wait long.

It's a shame when, as a guest making a reservation, instead of a friendly greeting you are greeted with the words "but only for two hours" and taken to your table. Other restaurants can do that better. The seating is very uncomfortable and doesn't invite you to stay for a long time anyway. The food was okay, but it was clearly too expensive for what was offered. In addition, we miss the polite Japanese manner of the service staff. - Which is surprising in that their meager knowledge of German and English actually suggests that they have recently come from the land of the rising sun and have retained the positive aspects of their polite culture.

Fuimos a este restaurante, por una recomendacion. Nos hablaron de esta pequeña zona de Dusseldorf, con comercios y restaurantes japoneses y decidimos probar. Todos estaban muy llenos y tenian cola en el exterior, escogimos uno al azar y resulto un acierto total. Buena comida a buen precio. Excelentes brochetas. Recomendable.

We were lucky and were allowed in as the last guests of the evening. The food was very good, unfortunately the service was shocking. Since we had ordered too much and wanted to take the rest with us, two empty cardboard boxes were placed on the table for us to pack ourselves and we were able to pack ourselves. When paying, people pointedly waited for a tip to be added. I don't have to have it again 👎

Food was very good, had takoyaki as a starter. The main course was grilled eel on rice with miso soup. If you like Japanese skewers you've come to the right place, a bit expensive but worth the money.

We had the sushi set, beef steak don n saba shio teishoku and whatever we ordered were mind blowing. The fish literally melts in your mouth. My mother thoroughly enjoyed it n can't stop talking about it. The guy who served us was very pleasing and polite. Enjoyed every bit .

牡蠣フライは絶品！熱々カリカリなのに中はジューシー！メインであるべき串物や鰻の蒲焼は正直言ってイマイチでした。店員さんは大体は丁寧な接客でしたがメガネの男性店員は愛想が悪く感じ悪かったです。
