Very attentive staff. Food came quick and fresh. Tasted great. Typically Japanese. Only the drinks are too expensive. Otherwise price performance OK. Were just for lunch. Definitely coming back for dinner. Highly recommended…

We were here for the third time in 3 years. In summary, one has to say that prices have increased since Corona, but at that time this was compensated for with the corresponding quality. However, after visiting yesterday I realized that the prices for individual side dishes are so high that this is no longer justified. Shockingly, in return, the quality has drastically decreased. It was also the first time in my life that I didn't finish a dish because the taste was unacceptable. My food tasted bitter. I know that many Asians are returning home due to the conditions in this country, but as a restaurant you should find a suitable replacement if the chef is missing. I think I won't come here anymore as the competition hasn't become significantly more expensive, but has maintained the quality standard. The restaurant should not rely on only being able to benefit from its good reputation from days gone by. I must also add that we had reserved a seat for 2 consecutive days. I canceled the second reservation because of the experience I had.

The food and service is down grade so much compare with before. So sad that I have to remove it from my favorite list.

You need to have a reservation to dine here, fine. We tried calling them a week earlier but an automated message you need to come in person. Once you are there, no reservation we are full today. The guy at the desk was so rude and unprofessional. Not even willing to listen or least bother to even show how you do reservation. Even now if you see in maps there is no way you can book a table. Sometimes these restraunts when they grow they treat their customers so bad. Will never go here again, there are tons of Japanese restraunts in the stretch which offers great food and very hospitable. Don't waste your time here.

Excellent dinner of sushi and meat skewers

Very good sushi! Communication with the service a bit difficult.

The chicken katsu’s koromo was a bit too thick for my taste but overall the dishes were tasty. It’s just that how the staffs who served dishes and took orders behaved was a bit weird. They are Japanese but they didn’t have any friendly customer service so I was puzzled since they must know what is a good customer service, coming from Japan. The inside the restaurant is pretty big and can hold many people. It’s kept clean but their menu cards were absolutely dirty and greasy, need of good cleaning.

+: The Karaage (€12.80) is an 11/10, super freshly prepared, crispy and juicy. A real dream! The Miso Ramen Veggie also tastes excellent. The noodles are chewy and the broth is very tasty. The Beef Kalbi Don (€29.80) also tastes good, but the meat could have been warmer. Most of the meat is very tender. The portion sizes are generally very well chosen. The staff is attentive and very friendly. You should definitely make a reservation and you will then have a total of 2 hours, which works out very well.

10pon Mori B Meat Skewers Platter is really surprisingly delicious

We sat there for an hour without anything to drink. As my daughter was becoming impatient, I took her out for a walk on the street and bought her a bubble tea for her to drink after the meal. When we got back to the restaurant I was told they forgot our order. Instead of showing any gesture of apology, they told us we shouldn’t take the bubble tea into the restaurant. Has it ever occurred to you that I didn’t even need to buy it if you had served us in time? How about some spirit of service to showcase your “authenticity” instead of forcing the ridiculous “no food/drinks from outside” rule on an 8-year-old?

Great restaurant was a highlight of eating there. I liked the restaurant in the front part better because it had more Japanese elements. In the back we sat in a large room that felt a bit cold. The food was delicious but very expensive. Because of the prices, I would think about eating there again, otherwise I would happily go again.

Service is so so but the food and atmosphere more than makes up for it. Come hungry and go for the kushitei set!

INKOMPETENT: Having sat for 15 minutes, we are informed that the kitchen is closed. No server saw us to come take our order.

Super tasty food, the meat skewers were excellent. However, the portions were very small for the price and you hardly felt full. The service was also good, even though there were seven of us, we didn't have to wait long.

It's a shame when, as a guest making a reservation, instead of a friendly greeting you are greeted with the words "but only for two hours" and taken to your table. Other restaurants can do that better. The seating is very uncomfortable and doesn't invite you to stay for a long time anyway. The food was okay, but it was clearly too expensive for what was offered. In addition, we miss the polite Japanese manner of the service staff. - Which is surprising in that their meager knowledge of German and English actually suggests that they have recently come from the land of the rising sun and have retained the positive aspects of their polite culture.

Fuimos a este restaurante, por una recomendacion. Nos hablaron de esta pequeña zona de Dusseldorf, con comercios y restaurantes japoneses y decidimos probar. Todos estaban muy llenos y tenian cola en el exterior, escogimos uno al azar y resulto un acierto total. Buena comida a buen precio. Excelentes brochetas. Recomendable.

We were lucky and were allowed in as the last guests of the evening. The food was very good, unfortunately the service was shocking. Since we had ordered too much and wanted to take the rest with us, two empty cardboard boxes were placed on the table for us to pack ourselves and we were able to pack ourselves. Food was very good, had takoyaki as a starter. The main course was grilled eel on rice with miso soup. If you like Japanese skewers you've come to the right place, a bit expensive but worth the money.

We had the sushi set, beef steak don n saba shio teishoku and whatever we ordered were mind blowing. The fish literally melts in your mouth. My mother thoroughly enjoyed it n can't stop talking about it. The guy who served us was very pleasing and polite. Enjoyed every bit .

it was a terrible experience! At 13:25 we have been wait to be seated at the door. There is a waiter (ca 170cm, short hair and without glass) came to us and refused us to come in for lunch very rudely! i told him that they could put a sign outside if there is full, he said they just get full NOW! and pushed us out…… wow, what coincidence?! well, anyway people work in restaurants or other service business should at least be trained how to treat their customers. i strongly doubt that Kushitei of Tokyo did any training to their employees… it seems they hired whatever people from street and especially rude ones ! it is not the first time things happened like that, but i wouldn’t swallow it anymore. this restaurant became an absolute service desert! i couldn’t believe that’s a japanese restaurant which normally provides high level service~ Thanks for the “successful” management! if the manager would like to say something, we would LOVE to hear about it~

I love the ambience of the place. It's a bit cramped and busy, but for me that's part of its charm. The food is first class and I'm happy to spend a few euros more. Una Don, sushi, yakitori and the ramen are delicious. We also recommend the “Kushitei” menu. Kirin is available fresh from the barrel.

Essen wie erwartet exzellent wir immer, Service prompt und extrem freundlich. Wir hatten das japanische Zimmer im hinteren Bereich des Restaurants exklusiv für uns, dadurch war es ein sehr angenehmes, ruhiges Abendessen. Im vorderen Bereich des Restaurants kann es durchaus lebhaft zugehen. Meiner Meinung nach die besten Spießchen und mit das beste Sushi der Stadt. Preislich absolut angemessen. Jederzeit wieder !

We had a really great evening at Kushi-Tei of Tokyo in the middle of the Japanese quarter in Düsseldorf. Here, too, as with all good Japanese restaurants in Düsseldorf, you have to wait in line to get a seat - or just reserve in time! We had two different menus and then shared them so we could try more. Thank goodness the sushi course was identical, so there was no food envy! Every course was really great, the fish was of course fresh and very tasty. The service is very pleasantly friendly, reserved but attentive at the same time. I actually don't like restaurants where the food is shown with pictures, but at the Japanese restaurant it might be better! A clear recommendation!

Only the grilled skewers can be given five stars. I personally feel that it is a little salty. The sushi is average and Tianfu Luohuo is not the right version. There is no eggplant and shiitake mushrooms. The pork chop rice is also average. Next time I go there, I will only choose grilled skewers.

This is my favorite restaurant in Dussel. Sushi and yakitori are delicious, but the ramen is very delicious. Kirin draft beer is always the best

It was okay, the tamago nigiri was runny and the texture was off, as if it was frozen or refrigerated too long prior. We had more than one main course per person on average, including a few menus but they forgot the ice cream afterwards or just didn’t bring it. The waygu beef is minuscule. Service was really only okay. For the price to food ratio, I expected more.

The food was very good quality and also tasteful. The menu offers a lot, from vegetarian dishes to meat and of course fish in raw or grilled form. The service is also great. A reservation is recommended. Dogs are welcome guests.

The environment is very atmospheric, and it feels very good to sit near the bar in a small izakaya. But the dishes seem to be overrated. There are good reviews on social media or Google Maps. After eating today, I felt that the skewers were overall too salty. The grilled mackerel (I guessed) and the grilled salmon were a bit too dry. The grilled eel tasted a bit dry. There is a fishy smell (considering that I am not an eel powder, I may not be of public reference value) In short, the environment is nothing to say, but the taste may be able to cater to all kinds of customers👏

Wir hatten eine Reservierung für Donnerstagabend um 19:00 Uhr, welche sich als sinnvoll erwies. Der Laden war voll und kleine Personengruppen warteten in einer kurzen Schlange auf die nächsten freien Tische. Wir bestellten Reis mit Aal und ein Set mit Spießen gegrillt auf Holzkohle, dazu Reis und zwei Vorspeisen (Takoyaki und frittierte Tintenfisch Tentakel). Zu beiden Hauptgerichten gab es eine kleine Miso Suppe. Die Gerichte waren allesamt lecker, hatten den perfekten Gar Grad und eine ausgewogene Würze. Auf unserem Städtetrip nach Düsseldorf war dies unser Highlight! Deshalb gibt es von uns eine klare Weiterempfehlung. Vielen Dank, wir kommen wieder!

Make an online reservation if you are able to plan your evening. We didn’t have a reservation and worked for about an hour for a table by standing in line outside. But it was totally worth it! We ordered a sampling of everything. Get it all! Yakitoria, sushi and appetizers!

First of all the good things, the food was very good and the noodles and the pork belly were super tasty, the egg was also a dream, super soft, not to mention the broth, only 2 things bothered me the food wasn't that hot anymore and the service I couldn't fulfill my wish, so I asked if I could have the noodles "very" spicy, the service then said, confused, that wasn't possible, they showed me on the menu that there was a spicy version, which was of course a little more expensive But I had never been there before, so I approved the whole thing, the food came, the soup was lukewarm while my neighbors burned themselves on their soup because it was too hot for them and the soup was NOT even 1% spicy, I complained and got it a small bowl with red stuff on it, it was extremely tasty but this was NOT spicy, after the billing I had to pay the full price and I felt that was unfair because the noodles were not spicy, conclusion tasty but I won't go there again .

I was here with my wife for my birthday. The last time I was a guest at Kushi-Tei was over 10 years ago. A real event back then. In terms of taste, everything here is still perfect. But when it comes to service and ambience, the Brickny veteran has really lost ground. It's just overcrowded (we were here on weekdays) - at the reception you are treated in a rather cold manner. There's a 0% Japan feeling. Unfortunately we weren't in the main part, but in the side room - where everything is very carelessly decorated in terms of decoration. The staff also seemed very overwhelmed. Tip to the management at Brickny: Train your staff properly. Your yakitori and the rest of the izakaya soul food are 100%. Unfortunately the rest is 0%. Not again for now...

It's hard to have very good Japanese food outside of Japan. This is possible here, at somewhat high prices, but they are absolutely justified. Can only be recommended.

Fried oysters - a poem. I love good Japanese cuisine beyond mixed sushi platters. That's why I ordered the fried oysters. Sensational. The oysters are unique, seasoned with great vegetables and delicately flavored. Really special.

One of the pleasures of my business trip to Dusseldorf is this shop. I had a salted mackerel set meal for lunch today as well. It might be even more delicious than what you eat in Japan. A bite of kimchi is a good performance. The Japanese music and beautiful staff make you feel relaxed.

My absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in Düsseldorf. All my visiting friends are blown away by it. Friendly staff and food is served fast. It is pricey but I’m willing to pay for a treat although I don’t necessarily agree with Oktoberfest prices for Asahi or Kirin.

Despite the high prices, the quality of the food was undeniable. A great spot if you're looking for top-notch Japanese cuisine and don't mind paying a bit extra for it.

We had the lunch menu. I had the mackerel and my girlfriend had the chicken schnitzel. Both were incredibly tasty and the price was totally fair. The waiters were very nice and the restaurant was cozy. We will be back definitely!
