After the performance at 4:00 p.m. i.e. 6:30 p.m. we tried to get a table, three tables were still locked with chains, ?? We were supposed to queue up so that the service had an overview, tip after a sold out one, you can assume that one or the other would like to consume something, whether food etc. We then decided as a group to go to another location. Everyone was surprised that it was so difficult to get a table for 5 people in a theater restaurant after a performance. It's a shame we've always been happy at Schillings so far.

On a Thursday evening we visited Schillings in the Schauspielhaus for the first time. We didn't even know this place, it's a little hidden behind the foam playhouse. But we really liked the outside terrace, with the view of the greenery. We started with a delicious Jever on tap and then we could start with the appetizers. We ordered the tuna tataki and the fried pulpo. The tuna was very fresh and tasty, the combination with the miso and wasabi cream was great. The pulpo was very tender and the fennel, orange and celery salad was beautifully aromatic. The appetizers were already great! We continue with the main course. There was the Wiener Schnitzel made of veal and the veal cheek burger. The two (!) schnitzels were nice and thin and crispy, and, as it should be, topped with anchovies. There were also great fries. The burger was great too! The meat was super tender, like pulled beef that melts in your mouth. It's also great that the bun was baked in-house. The side salad also came with a delicious dressing. Main course also great! Finally, we shared the Solero dessert in a glass. The mango was delicious, but as it went down the taste became more neutral. It seemed a little too sweet to us. The food was really very good! We also liked the selection of drinks. The attentive service and the beautiful ambience inside are also appealing. We had a lovely evening and can definitely recommend this "secret" place

Das Schillings im Schauspielhaus hat sich etabliert und bewährt. Es ist unser leibgewonnener Anlaufpunkt, wannimmer wir ins Schauspielhaus gehen und empfiehlt sich auch für nicht DHaus-Gänger. Das Essen ist toll, die Karte enthält viele wunderbare Leckerbissen und eine breite Auswahl auch vegetarischer/veganer Speisen und der Service ist immer perfekt.

Alles war zu unserer vollen Zufriedenheit, Vorspeise köstlich, Hauptspeise köstlich, sehr höfliches Personal, sehr angenehmes Ambiente mit Blick in den noch sommerlichen Hofgarten; vor unserem nächsten Theaterbesuch werden wir sehr gerne wieder hier einkehren.

Hatten mit 8 Personen einen sehr guten Abend mit köstlichen Gerichten, aufmerksamen, sehr freundlichen Service. Allein das „Tataki von Wassermelone“ überraschte durch die sehr kleine Portion zum Preisverhältnis, geschmacklich war es jedoch gut. Ich habe mehrfach die Terrasse besuchen können diesen Sommer, sowohl zum Lunch als auch zum Dinner- und kann das Schilling sehr empfehlen.

In the middle of the city and right in the countryside: this is where you'll find this beautiful Schillings restaurant. The terrace with a view of the courtyard garden is idyllic, and the interior rooms also exude a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious, the service was excellent! We had a great evening and will definitely be back soon.

Attraktive Location, schicke Einrichtung. Leider mit wenig Personal, sodass wir erstmal 15 Minuten auf den Wein warten mussten. Stimmung dann schon dahin, denn günstig ist hier nichts. Salat Nizza eine absolute Katastrophe, sehr sauer, Salat welk, Kartoffeln kalt. Nach einer Beschwerde gabs ein Dessert umsonst, was sehr nett war. Der Rest der Speisen war ok, ich empfand das Tartar als etwas senflastig. Der Pulpo war toll.

The location is really perfect, very close to the city center but still a bit hidden and cozy. Great places, quiet atmosphere and nice staff. We waited a little longer than usual for the main course, but it was still really nice there!

We sat on the terrace because of the nice weather. Service was excellent and the quality of the food was superb! The pike perch with risotto and the delicious glass of Weissburgunder were fantastic.

We went to Schillings for the first time yesterday and we really enjoyed it! The food was very tasty and the service was top. We'd love to come back!

It's a must to go to this restaurant if you like really fresh food. It's always a pleasure for us to go there and it doesn't matter whether it's after a shopping trip or a visit to the theater, they also organize weddings. Just go there and let yourself be surprised. In summer the view from the terrace is a dream. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Even the dessert, the homemade ice cream, was a dream - you taste what you are.

In a pleasant, beautiful environment (theater and in the countryside, quiet), varied good food, courteous service, highly recommended not only before or after the theater!

Hier kann man immer wieder einen schönen und köstlichen Abend verbringen. Neben dem wirklich guten Essen und dem freundlichen Service, gefällt mir besonders die angenehm gedämpfte Geräuschkulisse. Dabei ist die Einrichtung stylish-modern mit einem besonders hervorzuhebenden intimen Lichtkonzept. Ein Highlight ist außerdem die tolle Terrasse direkt am Hofgarten! Übrigens auch eine gute Wahl zum Lunch.

Schillings is a very nice, modern restaurant with a great lighting concept and pleasant volume. It offers German/European cuisine of the best quality and attentive service. Before/after a visit to the theater, but also just like that, it is a gem of the Düsseldorf gastronomy scene. In summer, the large terrace directly on the Hofgarten is also a hit! The service is also usually particularly noteworthy.

The four of us visited Schillings for the first time on June 30th and were very impressed, both by the very friendly, attentive and efficient service as well as by the creative and successful cuisine: sea bass, baked cauliflower, quinoa bowl and panzanella - everything was great. Unfortunately the weather wasn't suitable for outside, but the beautiful, quiet location on the edge of the Hofgarten is certainly impressive. We will definitely come back and recommend!

The restaurant has a very good balance of great food at appropriate prices, easy-going but professional service, an atmosphere which is classy but relaxed and allows for a good conversation but also fun. Not sure if that description makes sense... In any case, we have been there for business dinners, grandma's birthday lunch, post-theater bites and evening drinks. Great terrace!

Central location, but the large sun terrace is quietly located right next to the green park. Very cozy atmosphere and delicious selection of different dishes. We had a lovely evening. Only the service was a bit inattentive. We sometimes had to wait a long time and orders were always taken incorrectly.

Schillings im Schauspielhaus is a charming spot with cozy seating and a stylish, modern ambiance. The menu offers a delightful mix of contemporary dishes and timeless classics. Although our food and drinks took a bit longer to arrive, they were definitely worth the wait—delicious and well presented. While prices for some dishes lean towards the higher end, parents will appreciate the wallet-friendly Currywurst option for kids. And keep an eye out for the delightful Rose-ringed Parakeets fluttering about.

Ich war mit meinem Partner abends vor dem Theater im Schillings wir hatten reserviert und sind aufgrund des Verkehrsstaus zu spät gekommen. Wir hatten aber angerufen der Herr am Telefon meinte, es wäre kein Problem. Wir müssten dann nur ein bisschen zügiger bestellen, damit wir in Ruhe essen können. Wir sind im im Restaurant eingetroffen und wurden herzlichst begrüßt. Es war gut besucht. Wir hatten zur Vorspeise der Tataki vom Thunfisch. Zum Hauptgang hatten wir den gebrannten Blumenkohl und das Rinderfilet, was sehr köstlich war. Wir hatten noch Lust auf ein Dessert und hatten gefragt, ob das zeitlich sich ausgehen würde und dann meinte die Service Kraft er würde uns schnell was bringen und wir bekamen zwei Affogato die wirklich das Abendessen abgerundet haben. Alles im einen waren wir sehr zufrieden. Der Service war schnell das Essen war lecker. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen..

Der Aufenthalt im „Schillings im Schauspielhaus“ erfüllte unsere positiven Erwartungen: gute Qualität der Speisen und Getränke, sehr freundlicher Service, ansprechende moderne Ausstattung, einladender Terrassenbereich in wunderschöner Lage direkt am Park an der nördlichen Düssel (Hofgarten). Auf ein nächstes Mal!

I ate with you for the first time at the beginning of November 2023 and was very satisfied. The steak was very juicy, the truffle pasta was very creamy and the best of all was goose with red cabbage and dumplings!! If there's goose leg with red cabbage again, I'll be back! :)

We had a great time here. The food was so good and the dessert was just heaven. The ambiance of the restaurant is very elegant and the whole experience was definitely enjoyable. It might get a little more pricey though so be prepared for that.

Wir waren Gäste einer geschlossenen Gesellschaft und zum ersten Mal hier – und mit Sicherheit nicht zum letzten. Bei einem ansprechenden Ambiente haben wir selten so einen aufmerksamen, freundlichen und unglaublich schnellen Service erlebt. Vorspeisen (gleich drei wurden serviert), Hauptgericht (Düsseldorfer Senfrostbraten) und Dessert waren perfekt. Und erst die Getränke: Unter anderem Uerige, Leffe und Erdinger lassen das Herz eines geübten Biertrinkers höherschlagen.

Very nice restaurant in a good location! Unfortunately it took 1.5 hours from ordering to eating on Saturday evening, but the waiter gave us a second bottle of wine, which was very nice! Food was generally good, only the side dishes were often fries, which were very hard... my wife and I both injured our gums... that shouldn't be the case...

Sehr schönes Ambiente, tolles Lichtkonzept, angenehme Geräuschkulisse - obwohl 3/4 der Tische besetzt waren. Das Essen war fantastisch - jedes einzelne unsere Gerichte. Gleiches gilt für die Weine. Alle Servicekräfte waren ausnehmend freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Gleiches gilt für den Geschäftsführer: draußen gab es einen lauten Knall, dessen Ursache er sofort klärte um anschließend jeden Tisch kurz persönlich zu informieren (Böller von Jugendlichen). Ein mehr als gelungener Abend.

Das war wohl nix!!! Nachdem wir das Schillings Anfang März für uns entdeckt hatten ( und wir damals sehr angetan waren), haben wir spontan für Ostersonntag zum Abendessen einen Tisch reserviert. Diesen konnten wir auch selber aussuchen/ bestimmen. Damit fing die Enttäuschung auch schon an: dieser Tisch war bei unserer Reservierung nicht hinterlegt, so dass wir einen anderen Platz wählen mussten. Ok, Haken dran…. Beim Aperitif ging es los: den Cremant gab es nicht mehr, wäre aus… für ein Restaurant in dieser Preisklasse ??? Flapsiger Kommentar des Kellner, wir könnten ja auch direkt mit dem Wein starten…. getan: dieser war einfach zu warm… schnell merkten wir, dass mindestens eine, wenn nicht sogar zwei Servicekräfte fehlten… und ein Geschäftsleiter war auch nicht zu erkennen…. mit der Bestellung ging es dann relativ schnell…positiv! … der Laden war nahezu ausgebucht! Nach uns wurden noch ca. 3, 4 Tische belegt…. Aber man sah, dass die Tische nur schleppend abgeräumt wurden…. 1 Servicekraft hinter der Theke, 3 in der Bedienung, davon eine noch lernende Kraft…einfach zu wenig. Vorspeisen waren prima…. Wein war immer noch zu warm! Dann haben wir ca. 50 (!!!) Minuten auf die Hauptspeise gewartet….und erst nach unserer Reklamation kam diese dann…In der Zwischenzeit waren nur noch 2 Servicekräfte vor Ort in der Bedienung ( davon die doch sehr unbeholfen wirkende „Lernkraft“)…. als Hauptspeise hatten wir das Wienerschnitzel…Fleisch in Ordnung, aber der angeblich lauwarme Kartoffelsalat ein vollkommenes Desaster: zu warm, ohne Geschmack..einfach schlecht! Und das für € 29 pro Person…. um uns herum wurde auch so mancher Kopf geschüttelt…. und mehrere Gäste mussten mehrfach nach der Rechnung fragen, Tische wurden nicht abgeräumt etc. ….Service einfach schlecht! wir waren sehr enttäuscht und haben dies auch kundgetan…. es wurde zur Kenntnis genommen…mehr auch nicht!! Was soll die „arme“ Servicekraft auch machen, wenn 1. zu wenig Personal und 2. kein Geschäftsleiter da war…. Dieses Abendessen war allenfalls 4 minus….. auf dieser Basis ist das Schillings nicht zu empfehlen!

We were there for the Easter campaign for children. Various stations were prepared for the children (baking cookies and painting eggs) and at the end they looked for Easter baskets. It was a really great activity for the children! We then ate there too. The food was really excellent and the service was very friendly. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside and enjoy the view of the park. We will definitely eat there again soon

Wir lieben dieses Restaurant auch in der Kombination mit dem Schauspielhaus. Schneller, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Schönes Ambiente . Ausblick in den Hofgarten wunderschön . Im Sommer mit Terrasse. Essen sehr Lecker, frisch und creativ. Immer gerne wieder.

Wir waren am Samstag Abend zu viert im Restaurant und haben jeden Augenblick genossen. Am Eingang werden die Mäntel abgenommen, der reservierte Tisch war natürlich vorbereitet. Die kleine aber feine Speisekarte überzeugt im Angebot und bietet vom Schnitzel bis zu raffinierten Bowles für jeden etwas. Die Portionen sind für die heutigen Verhältnisse (Vor - und Hauptspeise) sehr üppig und natürlich sehr geschmackvoll. Die Weine haben ein gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Betont werden muss der rundum angenehme und aufmerksame Service.

Grundsätzlich ein tolles Restaurant das einen Besuch wert ist. Auch wenn die Karte nicht sehr groß ist, findet dort von Klassikern bis zu raffinierten Gerichten jeder etwas für seinen Geschmack. Lediglich der Service ist reine Glückssache. Wir waren schön öfter da und von herzlich & aufmerksam bis zu Service quasi nicht vorhanden haben wir schon alles erlebt. Es muss allerdings erwähnt werden, dass der Umgang des Restaurantleiters (?) mit der Beschwerde höflich und professionell war. Als er allerdings Feierabend machte, putzte eine Servicekraft leere Tische während sie dabei laut telefonierte - und das zwischen anderen von Gästen besetzten Tischen. Sicher ist es schwer heute gutes Personal zu finden. Solche stillosen Arbeitsweisen sind dennoch überraschend und in einem Lokal dieser Kategorie unangebracht.

Wir waren gestern zum 2.Mal bei Schillings und waren wieder sehr zufrieden. Das Personal freundlich und aufmerksam. Von der Abendkarte haben wir das Thunfischsteak mit Süßkartoffel gewählt, dazu einen Rotwein, Primitivo. Meine Frau, als sehr gute Köchin immer kritisch, war mit der Wahl ebenfalls mehr als zufrieden. Gerne kommen wir wieder😋

Schon lange besuche ich, unsere Freunde und die Familie das Restaurant "Schillings" hinter dem dhaus. Es ist eines der elegantesten Restaurants, die wir in Düsseldorf haben. Die Einrichtung nicht der gewöhnliche "schöner wohnen"Trendlook, sondern hochwertige Möbel , ein stylischer Barbereich und Rundumsicht auf Hofgarten oder goltsteinstrasse durch geschmackvolle Stores. Man schaut raus aber Sitz bei punktueller warmer Beleuchtung des Tisches nicht auf dem Präsentierteller ! Im Sommer , an lauen Abenden sitzt man stilvoll auf einer Terrasse mit Blick auf den Hofgarten. Mitten in der Stadt, in absoluter Ruhe . Das Wichtigste: die Küche Hervorragend ! Ein ambitionierter Koch mit tollem Team. Bodenständige Küche aber immer mit Raffinesse . Launch , Kleinigkeit, Menü , ganz wie man mag. Abwechslungsreich und ein immer noch gutes Preis/ Leisungsverhältnis. Das Service - Team : immer freundlich , sehr bemüht und verbindlich. We were there for the first time and were very satisfied. The selection of dishes is small but smart. Every dish has a certain “extra”! The service was extremely attentive, friendly and very polite. Das Schillings ist ein sehr schönes, modernes Restaurant mit einem tollen Lichtkonzept und angenehmer Lautstärke. Es bietet deutsch/europäische Küche von bester Qualität. Vor/nach dem Theaterbesuch, aber auch einfach so ist es ein Kleinod der Düsseldorfer Gastronomieszene. Im Sommer ist auch die große Terrasse direkt am Hofgarten der Hit! Für gewöhnlich ist auch der Service besonders hervorzuheben. Bei unserem letzten Besuch am 3. März 2023 war leider ein Kellner recht unaufmerksam und nachlässig. Deshalb diesmal dafür nur 4 Sterne.

Very good restaurant with a manageable but sufficiently large menu. Overall higher price level, although the quality of the dishes represents a good price-performance ratio (4 people, 1 bottle of wine, 1 bottle of water, 2 hamburgers, 2 ox cheeks with tip 160 EUR). The wine at EUR 8.90 per 0.15 L glass is already at the upper price limit. The beer was also in the upper price segment. The conditions are very attentive, the language takes a bit of getting used to (.... what do we want to drink.... no idea what the waiter wants to drink ;-) ) The ambience is very nice, although the background music was a bit intrusive with a monotonous beat and too high a volume, making it quite loud overall. The location is great for going to the theater later. Overall, it is a recommendable restaurant that we will visit again the next time we visit the theater.

Gelegen im architektonisch hoch interessanten Schauspielhaus, war schon der Weg zum Restaurant ein Highlight. Erwartet hat uns im Restaurant selbst eine charmante Atmosphäre mit angenehmem Licht, überraschend ruhiger Akkustik und tollem Interior. Die Speisekarte hat nicht zu viel versprochen, das Essen war gigantisch (Geschmack, Anrichtung, Präsentation) und der Service herzlich und zuvorkommend - wir kommen definitiv wieder!!

This evening I was allowed to visit Schillings in the Schauspielhaus with my mother. It was outstanding. We sat at a large round table with a direct view of the courtyard garden! The food was a 10/10. Our waiter, “Nick”, made our evening a lot sweeter. Even when the other workers seemed stressed, he always had a smile on his face! We will definitely come back for him!! All in all great! ☺️

Wir hatten nach der Theatervorstellung einen Tisch für 5 Personen reserviert und konnten uns, als wir ankamen, den für uns am besten geeigneten Tisch aussuchen. Das Personal war ganz besonders freundlich, hilfsbereit und hat uns sehr gut bedient. Die Getränke kamen prompt und auch das bestellte Essen wurde zügig für alle gleichzeitig gebracht. Die Qualität des Essens war hervorragend, alles köstlich abgeschmeckt und sehr schön arrangiert. Wir waren alle begeistert und werden sicherlich häufiger wiederkommen.

We went to Schillings for the first time before going to the theater. It was a lovely experience and a great start to the evening at the theater. The restaurant offers a chic and relaxed atmosphere. Everything goes smoothly and without hectic. The selection of food is good, but pleasantly clear. There are also many vegetarian options. It is prepared with fresh ingredients, lots of salad and vegetables. We had pasta, lamb's lettuce and baked cauliflower. Everything tasted great. Also the espresso at the end. The service is discreet and attentive. You never have to wait long, but you aren't rushed either. Our dinner lasted an hour and a half before we went to the theater right next door, well-fed and rested. By the way, we had already reserved the table in advance in the early evening. This is also strongly recommended, as it can get crowded before the performances. However, the restaurant's service has everything (including the show times!) in mind right from the start. We can only recommend Schillings. For the quality of the food and the service offered, the prices are also absolutely reasonable.

We were in your restaurant again on Saturday in front of the theater, reserved a table for 5 people and invited a married couple to dinner. So far we have been very satisfied. On Saturday the three of us decided on the burger. The result was devastating! 24 euros for a burger with little sauce, slapped on what feels like 5 lettuce leaves without lettuce and with fries. Unimaginative and outrageously overpriced! The staff was extremely friendly, but that doesn't make up for the negative dining experience! As regular theater goers, we will orient ourselves differently in the future, which is a shame because we like the ambience and the friendliness of the staff. But it makes you feel absolutely ripped off!

For the first time in probably tens of years in the restaurant of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus... and very positively impressed. Nice service, creative food offerings and excellent quality. The ambience is a matter of taste, I like it and will definitely come back even without a theater performance afterwards... clear recommendation..

Since Schillings opened at the Schauspielhaus, we often go there before or after performances and enjoy the good food, the friendly service and the modern black design. The selection of dishes is quite varied, creative, good value for money and there are a number of very good vegetarian dishes. We like it and will be back soon!

If you're going to the theater anyway, you have to reserve a table here in advance: great food in all price ranges, courteous people and a very suitable ambience! We can only recommend it - gladly again!

We were there before the performance at the Schauspielhaus and really enjoyed it. The food was great and we all loved it. The service was great and even kept an eye on the start of the performance. Unfortunately there was no time left for the great desserts. Therefore we will definitely come back.

First have a good meal in a cozy atmosphere at Schillings and then go to the Schauspielhaus - it's guaranteed to be a good evening!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit the Schillings restaurant in Düsseldorf and would like to share my positive experiences. This restaurant offers fine dining at a really fair price. We had a business lunch where we were served in a friendly and appropriate manner. The service was exemplary and made us feel completely comfortable. As for the food, I opted for a burger. The burger was cooked to perfection and tasted excellent. The ingredients were fresh and the presentation of the dish was impeccable. I can highly recommend Schillings Restaurant, especially if you are looking for a combination of fine dining and reasonable prices. This place exceeded my expectations, we will definitely use the outdoor area for more business lunches in the summer. Top recommendation!

Das Schillings liegt etwas versteckt hinter dem Schauspielhaus. Wir waren dort zu viert nach einem Theaterbesuch essen und waren alle sehr zufrieden. Die Karte ist übersichtlich und kreativ gestaltet. Es gab perfektes Wiener Schnitzel, tolle Bowls und einen sehr leckeren Feldsalat. Ein aufmerksamer Service rundete unseren Besuch ab. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder

Im Sommer draußen auf der Terasse sitzen ist sehr schön und ok, wenn man nur was trinken will. Hier ist allerdings als Minuspunkt zu nennen, dass der hausgemachte Eistee, der wirklich sehr gut ist, fast immer aus ist. Das ist besonders ärgerlich, weil die Getränkekarte sonst nichts gutes alkoholfreies hergibt. Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich inzwischen schon auf die 0-8-15 Cola zurückgreifen musste, weil es mal wieder keinen Eistee mehr gab. Die inneren Räumlichkeiten kann ich nur neutral bewerten. Dort ist es weder besonders schön und gemütlich, das Gegenteil ist aber auch nicht der Fall. Es ist ok, aber es gibt definitiv andere Adressen mit mehr Wohlfühlfaktor. Das Essen ist sehr teuer. Man kann anderswo für weniger Geld definitiv besser essen. Hier kostet z.B. ein halber, kleiner Blumenkohl auf einem Löffel Hummus 19€. Pommes für den kleinen Hunger 9€ (und die sind schlechter als die Pommes bei McDonald's). Desserts 12-14€... Die Karte ist insgesamt eher speziell. In fast jedem Gericht mindestens eine Zutat, die nicht jeder mag. Ich würde einen guten Italiener dem Schilling's zum Essen gehen jederzeit vorziehen. Die Schilling's Bar im Theater Foyer kann ich überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Dort vermisse ich den Vorgänger schmerzlich. Die Schilling's Bar hat weder den tollen Cappuccino, den es früher gab und der in der Pause eines langen Stücks immer genau das richtige war, noch ein erfrischendes, kaltes Bitter Lemon im Sommer oder einen süßen Bellini, wenn man keine trockenen Weine mag. Da ist man besser (und günstiger) dran, wenn man sich seine Getränke zum Theaterbesuch selbst mitbringt. Vor dem D'haus kann man sich den Thermobecher in der "My Naschbar" mit wirklich sehr gutem Kaffee befüllen lassen, dann ist man in der Pause bestens versorgt und spart sich das Anstehen.
