Very, very tasty food. Portions were more than sufficient. Highly recommended. We were here with 16 people. We had a variety of dishes. Everything was delicious.

I had the pleasure of visiting this Italian restaurant, which has been operating in Düsseldorf since 1992, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or family. The menu offers a variety of traditional Italian dishes, all freshly prepared. The homemade pasta and delicious pizzas are particularly recommended. The octopus carpaccio from the seasonal menu is highly recommended! The selection of wines from various regions of Italy is also impressive and perfectly complements each dish. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's a little gem in Düsseldorf that offers not only delicious food but also a piece of Italian culture.

Il locale, con il suo ambiente elegante e accogliente, trasmette subito un senso di calore e raffinatezza. Il servizio è impeccabile: il personale è altamente professionale, ma anche cordiale e disponibile. Ogni piatto viene presentato con una cura quasi artistica, e il cameriere ci ha sapientemente guidato nella scelta dei vini, suggerendo abbinamenti che hanno esaltato ulteriormente il gusto dei piatti.

Kleiner aber feiner Italiener! Wir waren bisher schon oft da und ich habe verschiedene Gerichte ausprobiert… alles was ich bestellt habe, war mehr als lecker. Auf meine Wünsche wurde immer eingegangen und das Personal war immer sehr nett und hat mir auch öfters bei Entscheidungen geholfen das richtige Gericht oder den perfekten Wein dazu zu finden! Am besten. An reserviert einen Tisch vorher und man sollte am besten. Ich’s mit dem Auto anreisen.. wenn doch sollte man sich auf eine längere Parkplatz Suche einstellen.

We've eaten there three times now, most recently on a Friday at 7 p.m. The service was cheerful and competent. The mixed starter was excellent every time. The pizzas were OK. A glass of Chardonnay for We found 11.90 EUR a bit expensive. What really bothered us was the enormous noise. If you want to have a good conversation and not just shout at someone, this is the wrong place for you. We will avoid the restaurant in the future because of this.

Einfach perfekt! Trotz vollem Haus zum Silvesterabend waren alle Angestellten sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen schmeckte hervorragend. Der Laden ist nicht gerade groß, aber sehr hübsch und gemütlich. Die Preise waren absolut in Ordnung. Es gibt einfach nichts zu bemängeln.

Today I ate at Luce Due and overall the food was very good. Unfortunately, however, I had an unpleasant experience with a waiter. When I asked a question about food, I received a response that I found to be rude and condescending. Instead of offering me a friendly alternative or responding to my question in a helpful manner, the answer was rather pat. I would like to emphasize that the rest of the service and food were good, but unfortunately this incident spoiled the overall impression. I would like to see more emphasis placed on treating guests in a respectful and friendly manner in the future in order to improve the overall experience.

I'm sorry to say that my visit to this restaurant was marred by a very unfriendly waiter. We often visit restaurants with fine dining and reasonable service. We will therefore no longer be reserving La Luce. What struck me particularly negatively was the bald waiter, whose behavior was absolutely unprofessional. Not only was there a clearly unfriendly attitude, but he also asked me a rhetorical question (retroactive to my question about a specific food) that seemed like a condescending personal attack. Such comments are completely inappropriate and do not contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. I expect service to be respectful and friendly - unfortunately that wasn't the case here. It's a shame because we really liked the food and the ambience and everything else. It would be desirable if the bald gentleman in question could be encouraged to deal appropriately with customers - regardless of whether they are young, old, fat or thin.

Rude behavior from the waiter I was really disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. After I wanted to order pizza rolls with herb butter as an appetizer, the waiter asked me in a condescending tone if I had read the name on the door - probably as an indication that such a thing was not “appropriate” here. This behavior was unprofessional and inappropriate. As a guest, I expect respect and no lecturing or derogatory comments. Unfortunately, this experience greatly spoiled the atmosphere and the entire evening. I hope that in the future the staff will be better trained to politely respond to customer requests.

Typical Italian restaurant, with great service and very tasty food

One of the best Italian restaurants in Düsseldorf, if not the best. We were there on a Saturday evening where the shop was very full and it was simply delicious. The friendly staff responded to all of our requests and served us extremely politely. It was our first visit but definitely not the last!! Always happy and thanks to the whole team.

Die Ahnung wurde bestätigt, ein sehr schönes, erfolgreiches italienisches Restaurant, wie immer ein freundlicher Empfang, gepflegte Atmosphäre, aber, die Preise sind jetzt überzogen, gebe jetzt keine Beispiele, nur: ein Glas Primitivo, 0,2 10,90€ Bei Empfehlungen sollte man den Preis nennen, um hinterher nicht überrascht zu werden! Die Qualität der Speisen ist sehr gut!

We paid 90€ for a menu that would cost 20 at any restaurant. They take advantage of the tourist at the congress. 50€ for a bad bottle of wine and 90€ per person for a salad and a regular dish. Don’t go, or settle a right price in advance

A nice place with typical Italian food. Friendly staff with a great service attitude. Luca helped us and speaks like a thousand languages! :) His treatment was always friendly and he did his best to make us feel comfortable considering that I don't speak German. About the food: 4/5, the pizza we ordered was not exceptional in flavor (rich, yes, delicious, no) and the minestrone soup would not be a dish that I would order again. The atmosphere is pleasant, no one pressures you to order or to leave, but I do think it is important to have a reservation.

Nice and fast service. Eating there itself was okay. The fish wasn't very tasty. The appetizer plate didn't look appealing, but it was quite tasty. Personally, the truffle pizza didn't impress me in terms of aroma. Restaurant is expensive. I don't think the price-performance ratio is justified.

Die Vorspeise war sehr gut, die Desserts ebenfalls. Pizza und Pasta ebenfalls gut mit Tendenz nach oben. Aber die teuren Hauptspeisen ( Lamm und Steinbeißer) waren bis auf die mitgebratenen Kräuter komplett ungewürzt, das Fleisch war schon älter und die Gemüse sowie die Kartoffeln waren leider auch schon zwei Tage alt und hatten einen leichten Stich. Ich finde das Restaurant definitiv überbewertet, für das Geld darf man mehr erwarten.

Had delicious starters of everything. Ate here with 9 women and we received the food at the same time. Everyone was satisfied with her dish, lasagna, pasta and pizzas. Only one lady found the pasta aglio too spicy, too many peppers in it, so if you like spicy food, you could take this dish. The lasagna was also very tasty.

Selten eine so gute Pizza gegessen und die Pasta war auch mega lecker! Die Kellner könnten noch ein kleines bisschen aufmerksamer sein, damit es perfekt wird. Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort, aber wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

The three of us were at La Luce Due today. All the dishes were what a very immodest guest would hope for, namely great. I had spaghetti all'amatriciana and it was out of this world. I think to get this dish equivalent you have to go to Italy. The herbs were fresh, the guanciale was aromatic and the tomatoes were just right. We came in our work clothes after setting up the furniture and were warmly greeted and rewarded for the hard work. Thank you very much!

Nach einer späten Anreise empfahl uns das Hotel dieses Restaurant. Wir kamen erst um 21.45, wurden freundlich empfangen, Getränke und Speisen kamen zügig, aber nicht zu schnell und waren ausnahmslos köstlich. Der Service war bis zum Schluss herausragend freundlich und aufmerksam, obwohl wir die letzten Gäste waren. Auch das Ambiente gefällt. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung. Vielleicht schaffen wir es übermorgen noch mal.

The appetizer platter was fine. For the main course I had black rice with chicken and peas. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't really good, so I couldn't finish it. I don't know if it was intentional but the rice was very oily that it dripped off the spoon. But service was great.

Was an accidental discovery. We were actually looking for a charging station for our electric car. The restaurant is located 20 meters away from the same. Since we were hungry and charging to 100% took almost an hour, we went to La Luce Due. And we didn't regret it! Top service, top food! The price is a bit high but it's worth it.

I have spent a lot of time in Italy and had high hopes for this Italian restaurant which looked genuine with cheerful Italian staff. It glittered in the candle light with starched table cloths and shiny glasses, it was totally full on a Monday night! However, the portions were ENORMOUS (perhaps some people like that) and the food mediocre at best. The food was not up to the high price tags. The best part of my meal was a spring asparagus salad with tomatoes and Burrata. When the salad arrived I was disappointed to find the "burrata" was actually dry mozzarella (either that or very bad burrata). The asparagus slivers were fresh, though only stems, no asparagus tips. I ordered monkfish tagliatelle as my main course and the fish smelled fishy with a bouncy rubbery texture and the tagliatelle were mushy and over cooked. I could not eat it. My friend ordered the same and also did not like it. Our other friend ordered lasagna and said the portion could have fed two and was too salty. One of our party ordered a salad, the light option, and was presented with an ENORMOUS bowl of rather ordinary lettuce, nothing interesting or particularly Italian about it. We shared a bottle of Sicilian wine which was nice. Not good value for money.

I've been a guest at LA LUCE DUE about half a dozen times in the last two years and even after my visit yesterday, the ambivalent, ambivalent impression I got didn't manifest itself any more clearly. It starts with the location. No longer quite central, but still relatively close to the center, the demand for upscale Italian cuisine seems to clash with the visual impression of the "city highway". The busy and very loud street is the main reason why I would never take a seat outside the restaurant. As soon as you stop in, however, this no longer matters and a new, diffuse feeling sets in; that imprecise feeling that you're not really welcome. Some employees are very accommodating and polite. Other employees seem listless and not very service-friendly. I don't expect small talk or insincere pseudo-smiles, but having the main course "slammed" onto the table without comment and with an almost hostile look on my face really irritated me yesterday. The pizza is okay, but for me personally it's almost too crispy and tastes good, but not remarkable. The lasagna is extremely successful, has a fantastic consistency and caresses the palate exquisitely. You'll still have an appetizing aftertaste in your mouth for hours afterwards. Overall, the location struck me as repeatedly child-friendly and wheelchair accessible. The rooms are hygienic and comfortable, but it feels a little cramped.

The maxim “honesty wins” is a fundamental aspect of human coexistence. When we entered the establishment, we were greeted by the employees with a negative attitude, which was evident in their gaze. This suggested that we were not welcome. The greeting from the staff was extremely unfriendly. I pointed out to the employee that he had apparently never seen a human being. His answer, which I would like to quote here, was: "Whatever you want. Our answer: food, of course." I started to get rid of us after politely asking to replace the glass because it was broken even though we were well cared for. The end of the story is that I found this place to be inadequate. As a reporter, I wouldn't recommend this place.

We visited this Italian restaurant based on the reviews on Google Maps and to be honest our expectations weren't particularly high. It looked like a typical, trendy Italian restaurant, of which there are many that are often overrated. The greeting was also pretty normal and the staff seemed a bit uninterested at first. But then, about ten minutes after we arrived, the mood noticeably changed. The waiters were really friendly and we were really impressed with the food, especially the pasta. The portions were generous and the taste was simply fantastic. Our favorites were the baby calamari and the lasagne, both highly recommended. The carbonara was particularly excellent. If you're not in a rush, enjoy a Negroni Spritz here too. If we were to eat carbonara again in Düsseldorf, it would definitely be here. I can really recommend the restaurant to everyone.
