Kuro Mori in Freiburg im Breisgau

Very nice kitchen staff, good food at a high level. However, the service staff is not that attentive, you always had to point out to the lady that the empty glasses should be cleared away. The wine list was only available upon request and we had to order the coffee from the kitchen. Despite everything it was a very nice visit, many thanks to Team Kuro Mori.

Very tasty food with very arrogant service. The waiter slams the menu and the bill onto the table, there is neither a greeting from the kitchen at the beginning nor a homemade praline at the end, which would be more than appropriate considering the prices. Although there is a lot free, for 3 people you have to ask for a better table that is not super small or right next to the cloakroom. The question is why? Food great, service flop!

Delicious and ambitious, a great night that was enjoyable but not fully perfect - as the black forest came short in the fusion. But what we ordered was mostly well executed and delicious, presented beautifully. Fantastic German wine list, including some excellent premium choices (VdP, GG, Erste Lage wines). Thank you

After the Plaza we finally managed a personal visit to the city. Nicely decorated restaurant and a cozy sound concept. Unfortunately, the attentive and friendly service staff only spoke very broken German and the respective courses were memorized when presenting. Originally reserved at the kitchen counter, we decided to eat at a table because the "window sill" seemed very cramped. The table/bench was also quite narrow, so that two people could sit just opposite each other. The service also seems to be encouraged to keep the table as clean/clear as possible. Seems due to calculation. As a starter I chose the bouillabaisse and was disappointed with a shrimp and a few strips of vegetables as an accompaniment. The bouillon was very concentrated and with the covered designer spoon it was a test of patience, which I then stopped. Unfortunately there was no bread either. A small one I also missed greetings from the kitchen in the prices and the associated demands. For the main course I had the schnitzel with fried rice and miso hollandaise, which was flawless. Finally, the quite clear, almost loveless cheese plate with a dollop of chutney. The sourdough bread served with it (from Pfeiffle?) was great, which I had missed at first. All in all, our expectations of the visit were unfortunately only partially met and the price-performance ratio was marginal.

I don't understand the reviews at all, it's basically not good food, over-salted, over-acidic, no good quality ingredients, incredibly arrogant service staff

Nice dinning in a nice atmosphere, although it’s a bit of a hit-or-miss. On the lunch menu, the starter was really nice and refreshing with an original mixing of sesame icecream alongside raw fish and the sauce paired well with the pickled radish. But the main curry was really unimpressive, too heavy with little spices and an overcooked halibut, only the bao buns were doing it. Then the quince dessert was again a good surprise, light and fresh. Side note: the bench doesn’t provide much comfort. Prefer the chairs.

Good food and nice service, but can't keep up with fine dining restaurants in big cities like Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Unfortunately it is just as expensive and therefore not really recommended due to the price-performance ratio.

A fancy-looking and (supposedly) fine dining restaurant. A chaotic service, incapable of dealing with unexpected but simple requests or questions, or any sort of criticism. Reading through the reviews, I happened to experience the very same with the "fusion tapas": a very poor mix of sushi, croquetas and God knows what. Yet, it was surprisingly expensive (26€ per person for a couple of bits). The main dishes were okay for the price. The cocktails were very nice too, to be fair. But overall, I'd label this as another "fine dining" German wannabe: no clear concept, overpriced and worst of all, incapable of accepting critical feedback. I'd recommend a visit to any well noted restaurant in Paris to learn what it is to receive quality for half a price.

I had a wonderful evening at Kuro Mori. The menu was excellent, as was the recommended wine pairing. I've never been a fish eater, but what the team conjures up here in the open kitchen is simply extraordinary. Thanks to Kuro Mori, I now eat fish! If only it were that good everywhere! - Excellent food with lots of details. The 5-course meal was simply fantastic and was well tolerated by the crowd - Wine accompaniment was highly recommended, especially the white wines - the tables are extremely small - the music (electro/jazz) is not exactly relaxing and takes some getting used to - In general, the hectic pace is too great, the pace of the aisles is too high, you're in the wrong place to sit comfortably. Despite the 5-course meal and consumption of over €300 for two, we had to vacate the table after 8 p.m. and finish the wine at the bar - they should have at least offered us a nightcap

We were there in the summer after I had wanted to visit Kuro Mori for a long time. The ambience is great and the service is professional. The food was very good, especially the dim sum and tartare. Overall just 4.5 - therefore 5 points

We came with high expectations and were unfortunately partially disappointed. Unfortunately, we decided on the tapas as a starter, which really didn't taste good. The Maultaschen as the main course were ok, but the celery was very good. Maybe next time we'll have to choose the menu to be convinced.

Great place. Something different. Not cheap, but really fun and tasty.

Die Bestandteile des Menüs waren einfachste Produkte (außer dem Tatar). Wenigstens der Hauptgang hätte überzeugen müssen, doch das konnte ein kleines vorgeschnittenes Schnitzel wie aus jeder Mensa nicht. Das wird als japanisches Schnitzel (Tonkatsu) annonciert, hat noch nicht einmal eine Pankopanade und wirkte abgestanden / vorgefertigt. Statt Tonkatsu-Sauce eine únpassende Miso-Hollandaise mit Convenience- Geschmack, als Beilage matschige, unansehnliche Reismischung, im gesamten Menü keine Spur eines frischen Gemüses. Eine "japanische Bouillabaisse": ein eierbechergroßes Gefäß mit lauwarmer dubioser Flüssigkeit ohne jegliche Einlage - eine großspurige Wortschöpfung für eine Nichtigkeit. Leider war auch der Löffel Sorbet mit Crunch kein Dessert, das den Gast erkennen ließ, dass man sich um ihn bemüht. Sehr schade, wir hatten uns auf diesen Abend gefreut.

Spontaneously today for lunch at Kuro Mori. The 4-course menu is of course not in the classic lunch budget. BUT WORTH EVERY CENT! Every course is a delight. Unobtrusive but super-accommodating staff and the boss is not above serving food or clearing a table. We have been here several times and the high standard remains constant! Compliments to Steffen Disch and the Kuro Mori team 9.11. Excellent again at the Plaza Culinaria and for me the number one among the star colleagues!

Unfortunately, as a vegan it is very difficult to eat delicious food in Freiburg. Upon request, I received a very tasty, completely vegan menu here. Unfortunately there was nothing about it on the menu, but the service was extremely good and in the end it wasn't a problem. So just ask. It's best, of course, in advance. Kuro mori means Black Forest in Japanese. If that's what the menu means, it's culinary hidden from me. Only well made, but already top class prices. Black Forest and Japanese cuisine are different, both are great. Fusion is an illusion, not a reality. It used to be called a mish-mash. Diversity is hard to do, but easy to say. Two spices are not enough. Replacing wasabi and yuzu is not a “fusion” that brings something new. The helplessness despite being a well-known top chef is surprising. That's the interim verdict - expensive, but ok for the fashion crowd. For others, there is little fulfillment in expectation. Service and wine accompaniment are exempt from criticism. Conclusion: all expectations open. Wallet painfully affected.

Sushi rolls and crispy shrimp had a sour taste. The pork schnitzel and side dish were very salty. Our expectations were disappointed.

Very tasty and interesting cuisine/combination. The ambience is stylish and overall the price is reasonable. After all, you pay for creativity and quality. Unfortunately we had a bit of bad luck with the service. That's the smear. Our waiter was slightly arrogant and would certainly have felt more comfortable in Berlin Mitte. He wasn't really having fun. It's a shame, but it doesn't detract from the restaurant. The cross-over cuisine was prepared with passion and love for the balanced taste. Away from the star, but the Michelin recommendation is absolutely appropriate.

We had the sharing dishes because we like to try lots of different dishes. We got full and of course everything was diverse, delicious and developed our taste buds. It was an exciting trip and a great time. It was also pleasant that the boss was personally on the phone and welcomed us personally.

Ultra slow service, very overpriced. Some plates maybe ok, others terrible.

Unfortunately, price-performance doesn't fit here. Good service. We had 5 courses "all in". The majority of the dishes tasted good and were attractively seasoned with a twist. The beef fillet was classic, but there was that certain something missing. It doesn't take out the duck liver. Minor technical weaknesses (e.g. char fillet cooked a little too far) cloud my impression a bit. The wine accompaniment was of the more boring variety and only partially suited my taste. Some of the wines were not served at the right temperature, but this could be remedied upon request. Overall, you can eat much better in Freiburg for comparable prices. The tables are a bit too small and it is rather uncomfortable to sit at high bistro tables. The advertising cards for the in-house cooking courses on the tables are immediately noticeable and, in my opinion, prevent a more upscale impression. The service staff were consistently friendly and helpful, definitely the strength of the hotel.

Unfortunately it didn't convince me. The tablespoon of king crab was not dressed as a salad, but was "hidden" under the cucumber soup, which masked everything in terms of taste, as the ice cream had little to counteract it. The waitress brought the wine list, but she didn't take the order, so we had to ask another waitress to come. The aperitif also tasted very strongly of cucumber and sauerkraut juice for 16 euros. The tables are small and you have to sit with your back to the busy aisle. The crispy pasta was served in a bowl in which the other ingredients were placed without any tension between them. After all, there was a tension here between hot and cold. The lemon praline was very tasty and beautifully decorated. I really like the idea of ​​combining new things, maybe I'll try something with meat again.

We ordered full menu and two wine glasses. The waitress at first brought us an old opened wine bottle to fill our glasses. Then one of the main dishes was a bit salty with strong seasoning. The atmosphere was toooooo hot we were sweaty while eating. they mentioned that they have an AC but in reality it's not the case. A little disappointed. The other dishes were good.

Very nice Restaurant in the City of Freiburg. Cool, chilly Ambiente very deluxe food in Asian style. Delicious, really. You want to try High class Asian Food combined with regional german products, dont miss this Place. A must see in Freiburg.

The food is amazing! Everything tasted delicious, you can taste the combination of Black Forest and Japan in every course. There is a quarter star deduction because of the uncomfortable chairs outside, but if I could I would give it 5.75 stars. One especially for the cute waiter with the nose ring!

Very expensive, very little food, which was basic... This is not culinaire dining, just overhyped. We did go to another restaurant after becouse nobody was full, mcdonalds it is...

Das Konzept ist sehr interessant, und die Speisen waren auch tatsächlich sehr gut - es gab interessante Geschmackskombinationen zu entdecken. Die Tische auf der Gasse sind bei schönem Wetter sehr angenehm. Die Preise sind eher gehoben, und der Service fiel angesichts dieser Preise etwas ab.

Überbewertet. Langweilig. Bouillabaisse schmeckt wie ein Energyshot aus dem Supermarkt. Tartar im Bun - gähn! Aubergine - würg! Banipuri ohne Kick.

The food was good. Overall, it was more like: it was good, but I don't have to go there again. The waiting time for the main courses was very long.

Were in Freiburg for a day and spontaneously got a table. We have been able to eat in many star restaurants, but this is in NO WAY inferior!!! Top food, super friendly service, great ambience and excellent wines! An absolute recommendation 👍🏼👍🏼 Katja and Alex

Tastes good, prices are astronomical

Wir hatten das 2-gängige Lunchmenü. Das frisch gebackene Brot mit 2 verschiedenen Aufstrichen war wunderbar. Der erste Gang war bestens komponiert und bot ein wunderbares. differenziertes Geschmackserlebnis zwischen den Salatkomponenten und der Vinaigrette. Der zweite Gang war in der vegetarischen Variante dagegen geschmacklich flach, d.h. die einzelnen Gemüse kaum zu unterscheiden, die Yuzu-Brühe wenig pikant. Die Variante mit Thunfisch mit Fisch-Brühe dagegen hatte mehr Geschmack. Das Lounge Ambiente war für unseren Geschmack allerdings nicht adäquat. Für die Preiskategorie erwarte ich für drei reservierte Plätze einen Tisch und bequeme Stühle, nicht eine lange Bank und unbequeme Barhocker ohne Lehne. Außerdem war es ohne Klimatisierung besonders mit offener Küche viel zu warm. Uns war keine Servicekraft zugeordnet, sondern es bediente, wer gerade in der Nähe war. Da hätte man sich mehr Aufmerksamkeit gewünscht. Alles in allem war unser Geburtstagslunch nicht das, was wir uns erhofft hatten.

Asia meets Black Forest meets overpriced prices - that's how you could describe the experience on a Saturday lunchtime. But right from the start: attentive service, which was probably primarily concerned with not having to walk too far. We were denied access to the rear, unreserved part of the restaurant. Five minutes after we had sat down in the still almost empty restaurant, another guest was seated directly at the closely placed neighboring table. The back part of the restaurant was still completely empty. If you can no longer have a private conversation, even in a quiet voice, a negative air will be felt over the restaurant experience right from the start. Two Tom Ka Gai soup had a sophisticated taste but was a bit too mild because there was probably too much coconut milk and, especially at EUR 16 per plate, it was clearly too expensive. The main course was duck or savoy cabbage from the Lindenbrunnenhof. Duck tasted very good, but the quantity of the dish was at star restaurant level and for 38 EUR I couldn't get enough. Even after applying the two-palate principle, the savoy cabbage had to be rated as having a weak taste. There was no taste of the ingredients ginger and truffle. My conclusion: We have been here twice now in the afternoon when there was only a reduced menu and this made us want more. Today's lunchtime visit was disappointing. The combination of small portions, under-spiced dishes and peppery prices means there won't be a repeat anytime soon. Update March 30, 2024: Kuro Mori is currently trying to have my review removed from Google with the help of legal counsel. Among other things, it is argued that I am not known to Kuro Mori, that they have no legal relationship with me and that my review must therefore be an untrue statement of fact. Fortunately, the ubiquity of smartphones also has advantages: I can use the time stamps and GPS tags of the images on my cell phone to completely document that the entertainment took place on Saturday, February 18, 2023. The soups were served around 12:19 p.m. Duck and savoy cabbage followed at around 12:42 p.m. I'll put a few pictures here. You can also see part of the empty restaurant at the start of our visit, as well as the nearby table next door, which prevented any privacy. I remain calm about a possible legal dispute. My companion is also looking forward to possibly getting financed for a trip to Freiburg to testify. Then we can go out to eat in Freiburg again ;-) By the way, I don't seem to be an isolated case. I discovered at least two other updates to a Kuro Mori review on Google, each of which described an attempt to have the review removed. The owner must know for himself whether this money would be better spent on service quality and the taste of the food. I, on the other hand, will have to ask myself in the future whether the positive overall impression I get when reading the reviews about Kuro Mori corresponds to reality or whether it is distorted because some critical reviews may have been deleted.

My friend and I had a really nice night. We had the Twenü: 1 aperitif, 2 wines, 3 course dinner. The food was really nice, especially the vegetarian starter. We were helped by nice staff. We would come back ;).

We were at Kuro Mori again and it was always a surprise and enjoyment at the highest level. In the summer weather outside, relaxed atmosphere with the best service, it's unbelievable what the kitchen conjures up. Price-performance ratio is absolutely justified and worth every euro!

The food was okay, but not appropriate for the price-performance ratio, especially when you compare it with other excellent restaurants in Freiburg. If you have a gourmet menu over 80€ you can also buy the greetings from the kitchen, I've never experienced that before, thank you very much for that. The service was simply weak: We were only given an explanation of what was on the plate when we asked, we were never asked whether we wanted new water, for example, and you should be able to distinguish between a relaxed tone of voice and obvious disinterest. The ambience was probably trying to imitate a bistro. For us, however, the loud electronic music was simply too much; for short people, the high chairs and benches without proper backrests are not designed for a long, comfortable dinner. Any restaurant can have a bad day, but if you want to treat yourself, I would recommend other places. *An attempt was made to delete this review with a lawyer's letter, so the good ratings are retained. Steffen Disch was already excellent at the Raben in Horben before, but here is a new concept, with a more Asian touch, but as before, the quality is absolutely top notch.

I ate lunch in the restaurant twice. Miso paradise! The food is excellent 👌 Nice atmosphere. You can also watch how the food is prepared. I think that's very cool. Service could be a little better. We had to wait longer for an aperitif than for food. In return we got espresso on the house. Thanks :) My green tea was served in a broken cup. When I wanted to have the cup changed, the service lady was a little confused, or probably a little overwhelmed. And unfortunately we (and other guests) noticed how the boss was shouting at his employees. That wasn't very cheap. But I would definitely come again 🙏👌

Loved the food and service at the place. We tried their appetizers and everything was perfect from the presentation to the flavour. For mains we tried their gyoza and short rib and it was nothing short of perfect again. Once again such flavourful food with great texture and presented oh so well. Their dessert - black forest cherries was to die for. The service was very friendly with good attention. The only complaint was the ambience - gets warm inside and the tables outside do not have chairs with back rest. Highly recommend the place. They delivered very well.

Restaurant/Atmosphere: From the outside, the Kuro Mori looks quite inconspicuous. A beautiful front but an even more beautiful interior when you enter the restaurant. Due to the paved stone floor and the elongated structure, it has the feel of a passage. What's special in my opinion is the open kitchen, so you can watch the chefs at work. The motto “Asia meets Black Forest” can also be felt in this structure, as in Japan, for example, there are also many restaurants with a counter that goes around the kitchen. All in all, a less upscale but relaxed, nice atmosphere, which I personally welcome. Eat: We had the ALL INN menu which included a starter, 5 courses, bread, water and a “Café Gourmand”. What impressed me was that you can order unlimited amounts of water from this menu at no extra charge. The waiting times between courses were perfectly coordinated - you never had the feeling of having to wait too long or too short. The dishes always came warm (not cold / not too hot). In terms of taste, you get something new here but by no means anything experimental. There is a loving preparation behind the dishes, which is also noticeable in the color coordination of the different dishes. Each dish had its own coordinated color palette and almost every dish had different textures.

Excellent food, an excellent selection of wines and very friendly and courteous service result in an almost perfect work of art.

Asian western Fusion Food, very decorative. Great cocktails, especially those with yuzu. Dessert was a ok, but unfortunately not a highlight.

An exceptional restaurant with star-level cuisine. Friendly and courteous employees. There are a lot of high tables. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it is suitable. Reservation is necessary for 2 hours. If you eat from a menu, you can plan longer. It goes without saying that the size of the portions and prices are appropriate. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Restaurant is in town and parking is only available in nearby parking garages

Nachgereichte Bewertunng vom 18.02.2023: Asien trifft Schwarzwald trifft Überteuerte Preise - so könnte man die Erfahrung an einem Samstag Mittag beschreiben. Aber von Anfang an: Aufmerksame Bedienung, die aber vor allem darauf bedacht war, nicht soweit laufen zu müssen. Der hintere, nicht reservierte Teil des Restaurants blieb uns verwehrt. Auch setzte man uns fünf Minuten nachdem wir in dem noch fast leeren Restaurant Platz genommen hatten, einen weiteren Gast direkt an den eng plazierten Nachbartisch. Dabei war der hintere Teil des Restaurants noch komplett leer. Wenn man sich auch leise nicht mehr privat unterhalten kann, legt sich so schon zu Beginn ein negativer Hauch über das Restauranterlebnis. Zwei mal Tom Ka Gai Suppe war geschmacklich raffiniert aber doch etwas zu mild weil vermutlich zu viel Kokosmilchanteil und vor allem mit 16 EUR/Teller deutlich zu teuer. Als Hauptgang folgten dann Ente bzw. Wirsing vom Lindenbrunnenhof. Ente geschmacklich sehr gut, die Speise hatte von der Menge allerdings Sterne-Restaurant-Niveau und für 38 EUR bin ich hier nicht satt geworden. Der Wirsing musste - auch nach Anwendung des Zwei-Gaumen-Prinzips als geschmacklich schwach bewertet werden. Von den Zutaten Ingwer und Trüffel war nichts zu schmecken. Mein Fazit: Wir waren nun schon zwei mal in der Nachmittagszeit hier, wo es nur eine reduzierte Karte gab und dies machte uns Lust auf mehr. Der heutige Besuch zur Mittagszeit hat enttäuscht. In der Kombination kleine Portionen, zu wenig gewürzte Speisen und gepfefferte Preise wird es so schnell keine Wiederholung geben. Update 30.3.2024: Kuro Mori versucht derzeit mit Hilfe eines Rechtsbeistands, diese ähnlichlautende Bewertung auf einem anderen Internetportal entfernen zu lassen. Es wird u.a. argumentiert, dass ich Kuro Mori nicht bekannt bin, man in keinem Rechtsverhältnis zu mir steht und es sich deshalb bei meiner Bewertung um eine unwahre Tatsachenbehauptung handeln muss. Glücklicherweise hat die Smartphone-Allgegenwärtigkeit auch Vorteile: So kann ich lückenlos anhand der Zeitstempel und GPS-Tags der Bilder auf meinem Handy dokumentieren, dass die Bewirtung am Samstag, den 18.02.2023 stattgefunden hat. Die Suppen wurden gegen 12:19 Uhr serviert. Ente und Wirsing folgten gegen 12:42 Uhr. Ich stelle ein paar Bilder hier ein. Dort ist auch ein Teil des leeren Restaurants zu unserem Besuchsbeginn sowie der nahestehende Nachbarstisch, der jegliche Privatsphäre verhindert hat, zu sehen. Ob man das Geld für einen Rechtsbeistand nicht besser in Servicequalität, geschmackliche Wahrnehmung der Speisen sowie Portionsgröße investieren sollte, muss Herr Steffen Disch selbst wissen. Ich jedoch werde mich in Zukunft fragen müssen, ob der positive Gesamteindruck, den ich beim Lesen der Bewertungen über Kuro Mori auf verschiedenen Plattformen erhalte, der Realität entspricht oder doch eher verzerrt wiedergegeben wird, weil möglicherweise einige kritische Bewertungen gelöscht wurden.

Unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't suit me at all. Very small portions and not a single vegan signature dish. What a shame! The vegetarian dishes were OK, but nothing special.

Very interesting: Kuro Mori apparently commissioned an agency to have the bad Google reviews deleted. The agency accuses me of leaving a review without having been a guest there. The funny thing is that I was even registered in the restaurant because of Corona and this was even confirmed to me when I replied to my review from Kuro Mori. It's a shame that Kuro Mori has to delete unpleasant criticism and it's also quite embarrassing! Little food for a lot of money! 👎 The two of us had lunch at Kuro Mori on a Saturday and we really liked the atmosphere. The service was also good and friendly! Unfortunately, the positive first impression was quickly destroyed. Each of us ordered two main courses and the portions were beyond tiny. Even as a starter it would have been very small. To charge a high price for main courses is a disgrace. Good food can cost a little more but we just felt ripped off! Despite the good taste, absolutely not recommended 👎👎👎 During Corona times, no guest registration and no paper in the toilet are not exactly nice for this restaurant category.

Mein Mann und ich waren schon öfters in Kui Mori. Es war das letzte Mal schon nicht so berauschend gewesen, aber das gibt es halt mal. Leider war das Essen diesmal noch schlechter. Geschmacklich lies es mehr als zu wünschen übrig. Einen Gang konnte ich nicht essen. Auch der Service war leider, ich muss es sagen- schrecklich und so gut wie nicht vorhanden. Wir kommen für längere Zeit nicht mehr.

Wahnsinnig enttäuschend!! Ich würde niemandem empfehlen, so viel Geld für so wenig Qualität auszugeben. Preise als ob man in Michelin Start Restaurant in New York City ist, Geschmack von schlechter deutscher Stube. Schmeckt nur nach Lauch und Zwiebel und man zahlt dafür 30-40€ pro Portion. Zusätzlich sitzt Man an einem mini-kleinen Hochtisch und MUSS befreundet mit den Nachbarn werden...

Excellent dishes at reasonable prices. The highlight: The lunch is based exclusively on vegetarian dishes, chicken or shrimp only for an additional charge. Fine!

We had a lovely evening at Kuro Mori. The friendly staff guided us through the evening and looked after us. We had a great 4-course menu, each course was beautifully prepared and wonderfully coordinated. Thank you very much for the culinary evening, we will come by again.

Für das Restaurant und seine Leistung kann man eine sehr gute Bewertung aussprechen. Mit vier von fünf Punkten bei TripAdvisor wird auf jeden Fall gerechtfertigt, dass das Lunch Menü was wir hatte, ausgezeichnet und mit Sicherheit sowohl geschmacklich als auch von der Anrichtungsweise her, auf Sterneniveau steht. Jeder einzelne der drei Gänge konnte überzeugen, die Ganache von Kürbiskernen im Dessert, traumhaft. Ebenso die Topinambur in der Vorspeise. Abzug in der B-Note gibt es bei der Preis- und Mengengestaltung, respektive deren Abhängigkeit. Die einzelnen Gerichte werden in ihrer Grösse als Vorspeise / Zwischengericht bezeichnet, dabei wird empfohlen pro Person bis zu drei Gerichte auszuwählen. Wir hatten den Mittagslunch, der drei Gänge beinhaltet, mit Fleisch/Fischbeilage 40 Euro. Dieser Preis ist in Anbetracht der gestiegenen Kosten in der Gastronomie noch relativ gerechtfertigt. Kritisch wird es allerdings, wenn man die einzelnen Gänge betrachtet. Einen Fleischgang mit 38 Euro aufzurufen, dessen Portionierung bei ca. 80 Gramm Fleisch liegt (Ochsenbäckchen) oder aber Desserts mit je 20 Euro, ist gewagt. Einen Brotgang mit 11 Euro zu verkaufen inakzeptabel zumal gerade in der gehobenen Küche Brot und Aufstrich oder Butter gerne kostenlos als Sättigungsbeilage zugegeben wird. Hier muss aus unserer Sicht nachgebessert werden. Wer aber Geschmacksexplosionen ohne Rücksicht auf Kosten mag, der ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.

Nachdem wir die Stadt erkundet und das Münster vom Schlossberg aus im Dämmerlicht bestaunt haben, wollten wir uns etwas gutes tun und sind im Kuro Mori eingekehrt. Der Service ist freundlich und zugewandt, das Essen sehr lecker und der Wein köstlich. Doch die Preise sind auch sehr ambitioniert. Die Kalbsbäckchen schmecken ausgezeichnet!

Der Mori ist nicht zu besuchen. Das Essen ist kalt und wird nach 60 minuten wartezeit serviert. Unfreundliches Personal-wir haben kein Tringkeld geben können und auf den CENT bezahlt. Die WC sind verherend, ich musste mich nach dem Essen übergeben und es gab weder Klopapier noch Handtücher. Völlig verkotzt sind wir gegangen.

Unser Besuch am Mittag wurde wieder gekrönt von wunderbaren Köstlichkeiten aus der Küche des Kuro Mori. Auch der Service immer angenehm und auf Wünsche eingehend. Für uns das Beste in der City!

Very nice atmosphere. Very attentive and friendly service. The food is excellent and you just want meeeeeehhhhhhhrrrr of it. We traveled over 2 hours extra. It's 100 percent worth it. The menu is sophisticated and very modern. The individual courses present themselves on the palate in the form of a taste explosion. Just great. It's nice to see how much love this kitchen gives to its guests.

4/5 for omnivores, 2/5 for vegetarians. Given that the veggie set menu is the same price, the quality and quantity was pretty disappointing. The first two courses were basically the same (beetroot tartare) and the main course was 3 dumplings. The vegetarians were still hungry afterwards. Suggest to offer bread, at least. For omnivores, it was fine. All courses were delicious and nicely presented. Service was fine, on a busy Saturday night. It was cold in winter - those sitting next to the window had to keep their coats on.

Food was good, but be prepared to buy multiple menu dishes as the portions are really small. We were with 3 persons total and ordered 5 menu items. Way to expensive for what you get.

Man sitzt hier wirklich sehr schön und das Essen ist ernsthaft außergewöhnlich gut. Was für mich nicht so richtig passt ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Bestes Beispiel fand ich eine einzige Jacobsmuschel für 32EUR. Damit man also halbwegs satt heim geht sollte man schon 3 Gerichte bestellen (auch Kinder), und somit kommt man unter 100EUR ohne alkoholische Getränke nicht raus. Dabei stört mich aber nicht der eine Preis ansich, aber in der Preislage eines Sternerestaurants muss einfach kostenlos Brot auf dem Tisch stehen oder mal ungefragt ein Gruß aus der Küche kommen. Sowas gibt es hier eben einfach nicht. Mir hat der Abend wirklich Spaß gemacht, aber in der Preislage haben wir in der Stadt andere Restaurants wo man genauso gut isst aber das ‘Rundrum’ dann auch zum Preis passt.

Das Essen war nicht so wie erwartet. Wir bekamen einen anderen Gang als bestellt, Thun statt Saibling, die Kartoffel mit Trüffel war relativ nichtssagend und die Ente leider sehr zäh. Der Service hatte an den Gästen offensichtlich kein großes Interesse, Wasser kam erst auf mehrfache Nachfrage und war dann mit kaum zu schmeckender Kohlensäure. Erst auf Reklamation wurde dies geändert. Auch sonst hatte man nicht den Eindruck, dass der Gast im Mittelpunkt steht.

Tische und Stühle viel zu klein und ungemütlich. Personal bisschen arrogant. Preise viel zu hoch und Portion wirklich klein. Um die 90g werde ich schätzen (man darf alle Gerichte als kleine Vorspeise bezeichnen zum Beispiel 1 pulpo arm mit höchsten 30g beilage für 32€) für mich hat sich leider nicht gelohnt

Vom Ambiente, der Lage über das engagierte Personal hin zu den ausgezeichneten Speisen und Weinen. Das Kuro Mori ist mittlerweile zu unserem Lieblings Restaurant geworden, die Anfahrt aus dem Rhein Main Gebiet lohnt jedesmal.

Sicherlich kein günstiges Spektakel aber Qualität und Handwerkskunst haben eben auch in der Gastro ihren Preis. Der Service war nett, freundlich und entspannt. Finde ich persönlich sehr angenehm. Fine Dining muss nicht steif sein. Das Essen extrem lecker (und gar nicht so klein wie zunächst angenommen). Pulpo und Ochsenbäckchen waren so zart… Die Atmosphäre drinnen war angenehm. Ich mag auch kleinere Tische, bisschen Bistro Style. Kein Schnickschnack der ablenkt. Das Essen steht im Mittelpunkt. Alles in allem der richtige Grat an Fine Dining ohne zu abgehoben zu sein. Großartiges kulinarisches Erlebnis. Ich war gestern mit meiner Tochter dort und wir haben den Abend sehr genossen. Wunderbares Ambiente, großartiger Service

Ich war mit meiner Freundin. Wir hatten einen der winzigen Tischchen gleich beim Eingang gerade aus. Im Winter zieht es jedes Mal, wenn die Tür aufgeht, ist etwas unglücklich. da wäre ein Vorhang ganz geschickt, so wie man ihn kennt von Bistros oder so. Macht es dann auch gemütlicher. Am Eingang, Tisch zu Weisung, macht der Chef persönlich. So ganz glücklich und sympathisch wirkt er nicht. Die nette Kellnerin, die sofort perdu mit uns ist, was uns vielleicht schmeichelt, weil wir schon etwas älter sind, die Dame am Nebentisch, aber irritiert war, hat uns drei Gänge empfohlen. Haben wir dann auch gemacht, war aber, weil wir noch Brot hatten, was super lecker ist und auch die Miso Butter und der Bibel es Käse , es ist dann etwas zu viel. Die Gerichte an sich sind sehr sehr sehr lecker. Allerdings haben sie auch einen stolzen Preis. Kalbsbäckchen mit Kartoffelpüree und einer gelben Rübe und Garnitur etwas, 32 €. Der Pulpo auch 32 € war aber lecker. Aber bisschen teuer. Die Weine natürlich auch 0,1 ab sechs Euro . Wasser die Flasche meine ich sechs Euro. Kam aber in einer Haus- Wasserflasche. kurz und für zwei Personen mit Trinkgeld 250 €. Die Nachfrage an dem Abend natürlich sehr groß. Vielleicht hängt es dann damit zusammen, dass man dann vielleicht nicht ganz so herzlich sich wohl fühlt. Oder an dem auch immer…

Eher zufällig sind wir hier hereingestolpert und haben uns gleich ein 4-Gänge-Menü bestellt. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Vom Essen waren wir mehr als begeistert. Eine Geschackvielfalt, die man so wirklich selten geboten bekommt. Das Ambiente bekommt einen Stern weniger, da wir erst an einem etwas zugigen Ort gesessen sind. Dafür würde ich dem Personal gerne sechs Sterne geben, da es alles unternommen hat, dem Abhilfe zu verschaffen, ohne von uns nur im Ansatz darum gebeten worden zu sein. Das Problem scheint bekannt zu sein ;-) Herzlichen Dank für diesen wunderbaren Abend.

Das 4-Gang Menü von Heute Abend war richtig, richtig toll und voller Überraschungen die unglaublich gelungen, wunderbar kombiniert und gut zusammen passten. Die Aromen, alle Zutaten, die Weinbegleitung und Last but not least die freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung war eine Freude. Wir waren begeistert 🙏 Und noch was: der Dessert … Kürbis, weisse Schokolade, Fruchtsorbet und mehr - einfach unglaublich 🤩😋

Food was great but service was low. We waited 30 minutes to get attention even though we not we intended to have food and wine. The food was great and I would go again, but the service needs some improvement.

Mehr Schein als sein. TV Koch der womöglich nur zur Eröffnung anwesend war hält Gesicht hin um teure Preise zu verlangen für Essen das zwar handwerklich gut gemacht ist, aber Technik der Hingabe vorzieht.

After a few dinners purely focused on German food we needed a “break” and thought to try out this German - Asian fusion cuisine and weren’t disappointed Interior design is quite striking including interesting artworks as well as a green wall feature We were seated right opposite the open kitchen which allowed us to watch the chefs in action (the only negative was that due to a failing extraction in the kitchen our clothes got a cooking odor) Welcome and service was friendly and efficient From the menu we selected a Thai soup and hand cut beef tartare as well as the dim sum and a slow cooked meat dish and we finished off with an amazing sorbet white chocolate dessert All food served was exquisite and beautifully presented Definitely a venue we will return to once visiting Freiburg again and highly recommended to those after an interesting fusion cuisine experience
