The service was good and fast. The schnitzels tasted great.

We spent five days in Berchtesgaden in October 2025, and two evenings at Watz. We really enjoyed the ambiance and the service was very good; the waiter was always attentive. On both evenings, our three meals were very good, and everything was cooked to perfection (everything was equally hot and the meat was cooked to perfection) and extremely plentiful. When we asked if the mushrooms could be omitted from the mushroom sauce for our daughter, we were initially told no (which we understood), but the chef was kind enough to leave them out or sieve them out, or something similar. Our daughter was very happy about it, thank you again for that. They always say that restaurateurs are the worst critics, but we (our waitress and chef) have nothing to complain about here. We highly recommend the restaurant.

It's a shame. While staff shortages may be understandable these days, it's still unacceptable that a restaurant with a delivery service is completely unreachable by phone. On a normal Tuesday between 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., we tried ordering six times, a few minutes apart (yes, on the right number). It rang for a long time, but no response – a shame, but since this happened to us before when trying to reserve a table, it's unacceptable.

Pizza, pasta and hunter steak are delicious!

The restaurant is located right next to the roundabout/train station. There are covered outdoor seating areas and seats under large umbrellas. It's a bit noisy outside due to the traffic. Inside, the ambiance is modern and well-maintained. My meal (side salad and pasta with vegetables/pesto/grilled vegetables/arugula) was very good! The side salad was a good size for my liking, and all the ingredients looked fresh. The pasta was also a large portion, perfectly cooked. The service was attentive and friendly.

This restaurant is 100% recommended. Super delicious food, very friendly service. There's NOTHING to complain about. We'll be back. Thank you for this culinary delight.

Just tried the first restaurant nearby and it was a hit! Friendly and fast service. The food was plentiful and the value for money was absolutely reasonable. We had Jägerschnitzel and Käsespätzle.

I went in without great expectations, actually just wanting to pass the time until my train. But I was surprised by a great pub with delicious food. The bar is huge, and the staff are super friendly. A true model for every train station and every pub. I'd love to go back 👍

We dined at this restaurant twice. The first time, we found the food quite good, so we went back for a second visit. After returning home, we saw online that someone had been charged an extra 14% tip at a restaurant in Munich’s Old Town. Curious, we checked our own bill and were shocked to find that we, too, had been charged about a 12% tip. When we paid, we rounded up the bill to give the waiter a tip, but they kept the full amount without mentioning that the tip had already been included. We felt this was very dishonest. For anyone planning to eat here in the future, make sure to check your bill carefully to avoid being overcharged.

Good value for money, friendly and professional server, he speaks English and Italian, the pasta is very good and tasty for a reasonable price. The good thing is that it's one of the only restaurants in Berchtesgaden that opens late, which is great when you're coming back from a day of hiking and everything is closed. However, if you're looking for peace and quiet, don't eat on the terrace because there's a lot of traffic and motorcycles. We'll gladly come back on our next visits.

When asked if it was ready-made cevapcici, they confirmed it was. What's more, it turned out to be pork, which, in my opinion, was a gross misrepresentation of the dish. The rice tasted extremely sweet and reminded us of various ready-made cans from the big industrial market. Absolutely not recommended for us.

The price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. Service was also rather cold.

I'm vacationing in Bavaria with my family for the first time. I quickly got fed up with the restaurants. Then, luckily, we found WATZ. We ate here five times in a row. And why? Friendly service, a great atmosphere, and a varied menu with fair prices. An honest and great family business. If I had a restaurant like this in my hometown, I'd definitely go there once a week. And as a man, you'll be full here. Call ahead, reserve a table, and have a great evening, and everyone will be happy in the end. What more could a family want?

Hello! For me this place is disgusting. My partner and I sat down to eat and one of the kitchen workers came out and said something to us because we were kissing. You should know that we are gay. So it is possible that same-sex couples are not accepted here. But thank you very much for the first and last time we were here!!!!!!

We were in Berchtesgaden over the weekend and decided to eat at this restaurant one evening. The service was friendly and quite quick. We didn't have to wait long for anything - but that might have been because it wasn't that busy that evening. The food was impeccable - very tasty. My boyfriend, however, ordered a mojito, which was simply undrinkable because it felt like it was made entirely of alcohol. We pointed this out, and they offered to dilute it with water, but unfortunately that didn't help at all, so we left the drink alone but still had to pay the hefty €8.90. We probably won't be having cocktails there again.

Very tasty food and a really good atmosphere! The currywurst was wonderfully spicy, with a great sauce and crispy fries. The restaurant is modern and cozy, and you immediately feel at home. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, disaster! Tourist trap! Ambience very nice, service very friendly but the food… first came the salad, which was definitely unwashed and not sorted out. Unfortunately, there were rotten and eaten leaves as well as dirt in there, so I completely lost my appetite! Then came the main course, my turkey steak was completely over salted and dry (I always eat very salty and even for me it was hardly possible to eat). My husband's calamari was an even bigger disappointment, it wasn't even lukewarm and the portion was definitely too small for an average eater. The two dishes + 2 drinks cost €51! There should definitely be something else on the table for this price! Let's see how the food goes and how the night goes.

I barely give comments, but this restaurant sells expired and STINKY barbecued ribs. I just travelled to this town and want to have some take out food in the night. This restaurant ruined my first night at Berchtesgaden! Don’t come!

I visited this Gasthof in 1982, just after I had entered the US Army. I was on winter survival training that also coincided with Fasching! My very first! The food was absolutely amazing the festival was brilliant I didn’t know what was going on! Two ladies came up to me and started painting my face and kissing me. I immediately knew that I loved Germany. I spent the next twenty years in Germany and would still be there if not for the needs of my father who desperately needed someone to help him, he was getting old as we all will. What I wanted to say besides a great time…. There was a Helles Hefe that had a light Geschmack of pumpkin! Absolutely loved that Bier. Had it only one time but have Never forgotten the taste. Anyway, great job everyone! I loved my time with your people and miss Germany greatly!! Tschuss!!!!

We were there for dinner. The pizzas were OK, a little "wet" in the middle... unfortunately we had to leave some leftover at the end. We were satisfied with the service itself, the waitress was very nice!

We ate at Watz three times this year and it was excellent every time. Everything is just right here. The service is great and the food is so delicious 😋 I love the spaghetti prawns 😍 We say “thank you” for the wonderful and delicious time in the Watz. If we return to Berchtesgaden, we will definitely also go to the Watz 🫶🏼

This evening we went to the “Bavarian Pub” WATZ for a beer and something to eat. Met up with an old colleague of my friend. I had the Ćevapčići plate and my friend had Pizza Dello Chef to eat. Both were very tasty! The service was very nice and always looked after its guests. The ambience was also really cool, especially the WATZ above the bar was really cool. I can definitely recommend WATZ! :)

Food was just a pizza that needed some more. It was great, we wanted to share it and it came already shared on two plates👍 The music bothered us because it wasn't our favorite music (tastes are different) so we left sooner. Otherwise it was clean and nice. You can also sit outside😁

We went there for dinner on a Sunday evening. The ambience inside is very nice. It is very loud outside because of the street, but that didn't bother us. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The selection of drinks was varied and the service was also good. Price-performance was definitely right. Is absolutely recommended. 👌

I can only recommend it. Service was absolutely great, we were there on the first day we arrived and ate and felt very comfortable. On the last day we were there again and the owner knew straight away what we wanted to drink, so you can tell that someone is passionate about their job. The food is super super delicious. Service was friendly and competent. The food was good. The offer includes typical Bavarian dishes, but also pizza and pasta. A large video screen played clips that doubled as the room's ambient music. But you probably won't see that in the next room.

Once and never again. Apparently no one cares whether vacationers are satisfied or not. Can only advise against everyone. I ordered pasta, but I couldn't eat it because it was so salty. My wife couldn't eat them either. We returned them, saying they were too salty. Still on the bill. We asked why we should still pay for it, and the innkeeper just smiled and said the noodles were completely okay - everyone in the kitchen had tried them. I just smiled and paid the bill, I don't want to ruin my vacation with something like that. Not again in this restaurant.

The waitresses were unfriendly and incompetent. The food was unacceptable for the price given. The wait was endless without complaint. The portion size was far too small, so we had to go for a burger king afterwards. All in all, a tragedy.

Delicious food, cozy friendly service, a secret tip for good food

Nuiva-looking waiters. We visited the place on two nights. The first time, the beers were delivered when ordered. But the second time they would have taken food as well. In this case, we probably sat at the table for 20 minutes without the waiters coming to ask about the order, even though there was no traffic jam. In fact, there were hardly any waiters to be seen, but they were loitering behind the counter and in the kitchen chatting with each other. We then left completely when there was no service.

Great restaurant at Berchtesgaden train station. Service was friendly. Drinks and food came very promptly. Tasty, portion sufficient. Unfortunately you cannot pay by card. A no go in a tourist area these days.

Delicious good food at a fair price

We only had something to drink on our first evening and were so impressed by the atmosphere that we went there for dinner the next day. All I can say is: Go and eat and drink. Good selection, large portions and the price-performance ratio is right. There's also nice service...keep it up 👌

Ein Restaurant direkt neben dem Bahnhof und gut zu erreichen. Die Speisen sind gut und ausreichend. Preislich liegen sie ebenfalls in einem normalen Rahmen. Alles in allem ganz in Ordnung.

Immer mal wieder gern im Watz, weil das Essen wirklich lecker ist, Preis - Leistung einfach passt und die Bedienung stets freundlich und bemüht ist. Fazit - absolut empfehlenswert.
