Long live the tourist scam... Reserved a table at 3 p.m. for 5 p.m., only to find out that the kitchen doesn't start until 5:30 p.m.... Waited over an hour for the food (6.40 p.m.) to then be served a roast pork completely covered in tendons and 2cm thick fat. Roast pork must be streaky, but not like that and without a crust. The brewery seems to live solely on unsuspecting tourists, disappointing!

All the idiots here rate the Braustübel, but this is where the brewery is located.

Beer was tasty and the prices are good too. But unfortunately our food wasn't that tasty.

I thought for a long time whether there was 1 or 2 stars and then decided on 2 - but only because 1 star seemed too harsh for me. There were actually no real reasons for the second star. The atmosphere is great, very Bavarian. The service is nice, but designed for mass processing. The food - at least in our case - was a disaster. Salt the knuckle completely, the “crust” is light and soft (more like pork knuckle) and the meat is tough. According to the waitress, there have already been discussions with the boss - the high salt content is probably mentioned more often by the guests. We also had meatloaf, which was ok. But the fried potatoes that came with it were really bad. Pre-cooking is normal, but these things have been lying around for a very long time. This is not about the price-performance ratio at all. That was just bad. The two points mainly for the ambience. We were given a (!) small gentian as a courtesy - there were three of us. So I would advise against this restaurant. This is tourist catching. Of course, beer is always good, but it's worth it in this atmosphere.

Great beer garden and beautiful interior with live music and Bavarian dance performances on Friday evenings. The food was hearty and tasty, although the portions could have been larger given the high prices. There are limited parking spaces available.

One thing you can't do is brew beer.

As expected, there is mass processing here. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is typically rustic for an old brewery. The food is a bit bland. This might be good for someone who usually eats currywurst. The beef and bread dumplings didn't taste like anything. I suspect that the same meat is also sold as goulash. Only the different sauces make the difference. My wife's fries tasted as if they had been cooked in old wheel hub grease that had been on the clock for a million miles. So, you can eat it if necessary, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Unfortunately, run down, beer is very good, food is so-so, everything is in disrepair.

Unfortunately the worst knuckle we have ever eaten. It's a shame, we were really looking forward to it. The service is mediocre. The drinks were good. Overall, a poor price-performance ratio. ☹️

Food was good, nice service. Trouble among the staff when it suddenly rained and the guests had to be seated inside. As a paying guest you probably don't want to notice that.

Second visit to this emblematic place of Berschtesgaden, still as typical. The dishes are plentiful and very well cooked. The beer is still good, in short, a place to go! The service was quick because not too many people

I visit Berchtesgaden yearly. Its the jewel of Bavaria, deep with tradition. Its a very tightly held area. Having visited the famous brewry here for a meal I was deeply disappointed (feb 2024). I don't know who is running the restaurant but they are not locals. The furniture partially original, partially last rennovated in the 70's, very dirty. Meals try to be authentic but fail misrably. As a German I was embaressed. Stay clear and hope a local restores the place's honour again in the future. This standard is not acceptable for Berchtesgaden.

This is exactly how we want to eat, drink and sit in a Bräustübl! We were completely satisfied!

Traditional pub, good local beer. Very cold service which did not make me feel comfortable and thats, for me, very important.

The food was good and well served but the attitude from the manager was terrible and insulting to my wife when she asked the ingredients due to dietary requirements. Literally telling her that she should eat in a sanatorium than tending to her needs. We found that unacceptable and spoiled the meal on an otherwise nice place. Shame on him!

It has been our place for dinner with our children every evening for years when we are on holiday in Berchtesgaden! The staff is super nice, the food is great, the prices are okay, the atmosphere is very cozy and rustic!

Leckeres Essen und netter Service

Traditionell essen wir am ersten Urlaubsabend im Braustüberl. Da wir wissen,dass das Lokal immer gut besucht ist, reservieren wir telefonisch einen Tisch. Service ist gut,Essen auch, Preis-Leistung stimmt...nur die anderen Gäste könnten netter zur Bedienung sein!

Eigentlich ganz schöne location aber das Essen lässt zum wünschen übrig. Essen typisch für Touristen. Nichts besonderes. Nicht dem Preis wert. Schade

Typisch Bayrisch! Super geschmackvollen Essen, wir waren zu 3t zum Essen und es war lecker! Donnerstag sogar mit musikalischer Begleitung total nett! Personal hätte besser sein können aber alles in allem ganz okay.

We visited in early August 2023. The brauhaus has an open courtyard with spit roast meats, and a basic, clean restaurant inside. It’s all well worn wood floors, tables, chairs and beams with some stained glass windows. It’s a very old building, it’s dark and has some beautiful old features and pictures on the wall. There are plenty tables. We arrived too soon for the evening meal service, so we just enjoyed a beer while we waited. We had the jubilee beer, it was amazing, so tasty that we ordered another too enjoy with our meal. We had the wurst with sauerkraut and the ox and dumpling, both were very good. They do offer a menu in English which they will offer you if they realise you speak English, however you can just ask for it, but we have enough german to use the regular menu. There were some men in that whooped occasionally and had me jumping in my seat and laughing each time. I didn’t realise that they were also musicians and they started to play traditional German tunes just as we were leaving. I’d have stayed, but we had other plans. A pleasant atmosphere, great beer and lovely food.

Drei von vier Gerichten waren sehr enttäuschend. Kaum Geschmack oder zäh. Selbst das Salatdressing schmeckte nach nichts. Die Bedienung war zumindest sehr freundlich.

Wir waren dort zum Hähnchenessen. Donnerstags werden diese frisch serviert. Dazu Pommes. Irgendwie zu trocken. Mitarbeiter haben sich heftig gezofft. Kann im Eifer des Gefechts vorkommen ist aber nichts was ich als Gast in dieser Art u. Weise mitbekommen möchte. Unser Fazit: Nö. Nicht nochmal.

Essen war leider kalt und der Schweinsbraten zäh! Schade, hatten da auch schonmal sehr gut gegessen. Aber wenn die Küche schon um 14 Uhr schließt, sollte man zumindest bis dahin warmes und frisches Essen bekommen.

Personal sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Schweinebraten aufgewärmt, sicher nicht frisch gekocht! Im kalten Reindl Serviert !! Hatte den Eindruck, Fleisch war schon einige Tage alt… wurde von uns nicht gegessen!! Beilagen OK! Schade, hatten uns so auf einen Bayerischen Schweinebraten gefreut.

Essen leider nicht überzeugend. Wirkte aufgewärmt, übertrieben fettig. Salat zu sauer, Nachtisch angetrocknet, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis enttäuschend. Service okay, Ambiente und Bier gut. Würden aber nicht nochmal hinkommen.

Ich hatte eine sehr leckere Gulaschsuppe:D Getränke und Essen waren flott da. Service war top. Location ein Traum.

Hervorragende Küche zu einem fairen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir kommen hier während unserer Urlaube im Berchtesgadener Land immer wieder gerne her. Es ist ein Restaurant zum Wohlfühlen und Genießen mit einem sehr freundlichen Service. Die Kuchen sind ebenso empfehlenswert wie die Hauptgerichte! Besonders herzig ist als kleines Mitbringsel für die Lieben zuhause die hausgemachte Watzmann-Praline.

Habe nur 3 Tragel Helles in der Brauerei geholt, und ich wurde bestens und super freundlich bedient.

Ich kann nichts negatives finden, uriges Bierlokal in dunkler Atmosphäre, ich mag‘s so ab und zu. Leider waren wir nicht im Biergarten. Es gibt einen Parkplatz wenige Meter daneben, wenn der voll ist wird‘s mit dem Auto schwierig. Trinken (Jubiläumsbier) war ein Traum, Essen in Ordnung. Am Personal hatte ich auch nichts auszusetzen.

Arrived here pretty late and did not think we would be served. Much to our surpirse they welcomed us in and fed us well. We had to choose from what they had prepped and it was excellent...considering we did not speak Deutsch I think we faired quite well. Also got a six pack for the trail. Very good stuff and very good service! To this day I have no idea what I ate. (Aside from sauerkraut)

Essen sehr unterdurchschnittlich. Der sympathische aber nicht sehr kompetente Service bekommt einen zusätzlichen Stern wegen des Belustigungsfaktors (als hätte man Rajesh von Big Bang Theory in einen Trachtenanzug gesteckt). Ansonsten ist selbst das Hofbräuhaus in Las Vegas um Welten bayerischer und besser.

Top, egal was wir gegessen haben es war immer lecker. Die Haxe ist mega, unsere Bedienung super nett.Tolle Atmosphäre. Ein Besuch muss sein.

Für das typische Brauhausambiente und das freundliche und ungestresst wirkende Personal gibt es die Sterne. Das Essen dagegen, der Schweinebraten trocken und lauwarm und der versalzenen Haxe würde ich nur einen Stern vergeben. Der Knödel war allerdings lecker. Also in Summe drei Sterne. Wiederkommen werde ich allerdings nicht, für diese Qualität zahle ich ungern.

Es war toll, die Kellner haben viel zu tun und sind dennoch freundlich. Wir waren zwei mal dort und kommen wieder wenn wir in der Gegend sind. Blöde Bewertungen von wegen Kellner sprechen kein deutsch kann ich nicht nachvollziehen und finde dies vollkommen unpassend. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Bin kein Weißwurst Fan ...aber diese hier war super lecker. Auch der Braten u die Soße genial. Weiter so... und vielen lieben Dank für den freundlichen Empfang.

Leckere Gerichte Wir hatten nach dem Museeumsbesuch einen Marillenschmarren , Cappuccino und eine goldene Milch. Nettes Lokal und gutes Essen

Wie in einer Panoramascheibe steht der Watzmann vor dem Lokal. Dazu gibt es noch herrlichen Kuchen und guten Kaffee. Vom freundlichen Personal wurden wir gut betreut. Da kann man's gut aushalten.

Toller Service und sehr gutes Essen. Es war eine wahre Freude dort zu speisen. Tolle Interpretationen von bayrisches Klassikern zu guten Preisen. Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service.

The view is beautiful- if you like the alps ;) The interior decoration is very nice too. The food was excellent. I had a regional dish, a fish soup that was delicious. It was made like a pumpkin cream-soup and leek. My daughter loves pasta so she decided to take "penne" with Gorgonzola cheese and she like it very much, it was not salty as sometimes this dish can be. The desserts where delicious too.. there is so much choice :) and the portions are big. It was a good choice for dinner after a hiking day.

We were big fans of Spiesberger's in the town centre - which was a really quaint little cafe with the friendliest lady behind the counter. Sadly, that cafe has now closed - clearly the owner is focusing on the one in Haus der Berge, which is understandable but we did prefer the smaller, cosier place. The style here is very similar - we even recognised some of the same decorative items. It's traditional Bavarian but in a light and modern, slightly quirky way. Lots of light wood and red and white gingham. They had a good choice of cakes and the food menu sounded good. Lots of the unique Watzmann chocolates and pasta shapes they're famous for too - great for souvenirs. We only had coffee and cake - an eierlikor and schokolade cake that was very yummy - and we were very pleased. The only thing that detracted at all, really, is that the place doesn't have a great atmosphere - it's quite large and very clearly aimed at tourists, as you'd expect in a museum. And, although the staff were very helpful, they didn't quite have the warmth we associated with the Spiesberger name. Still, it was very nice and has stunning views. We'd certainly recommend it, especially if you're up out of town (we were staying at Haus am Berg) and don't fancy going all the way down the hill for a coffee. You don't have to buy a museum ticket to call into the cafe.

After visiting the amazing Haus Der Berge museum, we went for lunch at the restaurant next door. The waitress was very welcoming & spoke good English. She was very helpful selecting something suitable for our gluten/dairy intolerant son. The menu is very interesting showing lots of other local businesses, delicacies etc. Most of us had soup which was lovely. The view from the balcony is fantastic & the inside very homely.
