Through the “Wild Weeks” campaign I discovered the Koch's Restaurant in Kandel in the flyer. My husband had "Braised leg of wild boar with apple-cinnamon-red cabbage and potato dumplings" and I had the "Trilogy from River and Sea" (scallops, prawns and pike-perch with pumpkin-Thai curry vegetables and rice). The food was very attractively prepared We really enjoyed it.

A terrible service. The plates are slammed onto the table without any labels (they are not defined on the menu either). When asked about the winery, it says “it’s on the menu. Look!” Forgot the dessert from the menu and said I hadn’t specifically ordered it. What a shame about nice food 🙁

The kitchen team led by Michael Koch knows their craft. The food is absolutely top quality and the ingredients used are of the highest quality. The game even killed itself. Likewise the service, very friendly and competent. We always enjoy coming here. The barbecue workshops (registration possible via the homepage) are also highly recommended. Here you learn a lot and meet very interesting people along the way.

The food was okay (except for the bones I found in the pike-perch fillet), but too expensive. The ambience was pleasant in itself, but unfortunately the noise level was too high. Service was quick, the waiter was very direct.

Ich bin 60 und buchte mit meiner Liebsten ein Genießerwochenende im Hotel zur Pfalz. Wir hatten am Freitag e. 4gängiges Fisch- u. am Samstag e. 5gängiges Fleischmenü. Normalerweise gehe ich nicht oft essen, aber wenn, dann soll es richtig gut sein - und bei Koch's Restaurant war es wirklich wirklich richtig sehr gut! Top Service, nicht aufdringlich, sehr aufmerksam, die Weine ausgesucht, regional und wirklich gut. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Very clean owner-managed hotel. Have been there twice on business now. Is conveniently located near the highway. Still calm. Highly recommended.

Enjoy your meal. Finally a schnitzel that is freshly prepared. Big portion. Friendly service. Nice to sit in front of the train tracks, but not too loud.

I haven't eaten so well in a long time 😋👍👌 Ambience very cozy, service very nice and friendly. Definitely coming back. There are a lot of delicacies that we would like to try.
