Hotel zur Pfalz in Kandel

First the positive: Food was great, even if fish isn't for everyone... Breakfast was great Rooms were very clean and modern (facing the street, a bit noisy)... Wellness area clean, but small (if the hotel is full, this may be a problem) and the opening times are no longer up to date... But, the gentleman at the reception (assuming he's the owner) is pretty stubborn/scratchy....he should work on his manner a bit!! Conclusion, if you like to eat well and the wellness area is not that important, good hotel!

Excellent hotel for family trips and business trips - always happy! We booked three rooms in this hotel for our family trip and were completely satisfied. The rooms are well maintained, some of them are quite new while others are a little older. Nevertheless, all rooms are in a tidy and very clean condition. The mattresses are rather firm, which we really liked because they are comfortable and back-friendly. We found the high-quality pillows and duvets filled with feathers particularly pleasant - you don't sweat here, as is often the case with cheap synthetic material. The service is outstanding! Every wish will be fulfilled immediately if possible. The service staff is unreservedly friendly, extremely professional and provided us with good tips and recommendations. We were also impressed by the cleaning staff: They work quickly, neatly and often do more than expected. The food in the hotel is another highlight. Not only is it extremely tasty, but it is also beautifully prepared. We particularly liked the focus on regional products, including meat and sausage partly from our own hunt - simply great and delicious! The wellness and pool area is relatively small, but very lovingly furnished and designed with great attention to detail. We were particularly surprised, among other things, by the counter-current system in the relatively small pool, where you can even train well. We have stayed in this excellent hotel several times and will definitely come back! Absolute recommendation for everyone who values ​​comfort, excellent service and delicious food.

The hotel is great! Facilities, surroundings and prices are unbeatable compared to other hotels. The outdoor pool and the green area are fantastic and top notch. We had the honor of getting to know one of the three Koch brothers (owners). I have rarely experienced such customer service and friendliness towards guests. Because of my job, I travel a lot for business, which is why I can say this. We will definitely be guests there again and wish the Koch family continued success and keep up the good work!!! We visited the Hotel zur Pfalz for the first time. The reason for us was the location to explore the wine route, the Palatinate Forest and France on motorbikes. This first visit will lead to further visits because it was simply fantastic. The operating family was so incredibly warm and helpful, you rarely experience something like that. There was a small problem with our room and it was addressed immediately. Our room was large and comfortable, the breakfast was rich and offered a lot of variety. Above all, the daily selection of wild products was a hit. The wellness area is beautifully designed, very clean and offers enough corners to relax and unwind. An absolute highlight was dinner in the restaurant. Everything just fell into place. So absolute recommendation. We will be back. And the “Wilde Pfalz” cap is eagerly worn. 😉 Until next time.

We were there with a larger group and there was a grill buffet, this buffet was awesome!!! Everything tasted great - salads, meat, side dishes, sauces, everything. As always, the waitresses were very friendly and always tried to ensure that everything was filled up quickly, both food and drinks. The Palatinate is always worth a visit not only as a country but also as a hotel and restaurant. ;-)

I was warmly welcomed here as a biker while passing through! Rooms with average, but reasonable, tidy furnishings with a view of the parking lot. So away from the street and therefore very quiet. Delicious pasta dish. Slightly above average price level. Staff across the board are very approachable, empathetic, helpful. Tip top! Have a nice stay. Thanks for that.

What a nice place to stay when traveling through Germany! This rustic hotel has everything you need for a comfortable overnight stay. Rooms ( we had the “comfort zimmer”) are clean and comfortable, the service is friendly and efficiënt. The breakfast is very good, lots to choose from and very good quality food. The private parking ( at no cost) makes this a 5 star experience for us.

Some of it is getting old. You had to look for service staff. It's ok for an overnight stay.

Great ambience, very good food and friendly service

In itself a nice, quiet hotel, but unfortunately there is no water in the room (let alone anything in the minibar) nor in the sauna, which would be very important there. Also two beds pushed together, so no double bed, they keep slipping apart. Absolutely no hygiene products except soap in the dispenser and facial tissues. No bathrobe, only available upon request. Some things need cosmetic repairs such as loose strips, broken hairdryer in the sauna, cracked tiles in the bathtub and on the tub, dirty walls. The swing lounger in the sauna area is really life-threatening; if you try to sit on it, you tip forward and fall to the floor. Wellness area open too briefly for my opinion from 12-8 p.m. Breakfast good. For a three star hotel with the most expensive room, unfortunately not what I'm used to. (I spend a lot of time in hotels) The staff was very nice, except for the man at reception. Everything was kept more like a rural farm. A matter of taste.

It's a shame that the indoor pool doesn't open until 8. My husband likes to swim before breakfast. The breakfast is lavish, the service is really friendly. In the adjacent Koch restaurant you are not allowed to drink drinks in the smoking lounge, only smoke. The head waiter Meier specifically pointed this out to us. Otherwise you end up smoking on the street with your coffee.

I stayed at this hotel for business and it had everything you needed. The rooms were modern and clean. The bed was comfortable. I didn't use the wellness area. There is enough parking space. It is definitely recommended.

Were here with a larger group. Some rooms are brand new and nice, some are quite new but have a slightly outdated bathroom, some rooms are completely outdated. Breakfast is good and staff friendly.

Nice staff, cheap and decent breakfast. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The spa area is very attractively designed and the WiFi works perfectly. Free parking is also no problem. All in all really good, at a fair price. I always enjoy coming here.

Endlich mal wieder die beste Küche weit und breit genießen. Wie immer alles bestens, lg an das gesamte Team. Heute Abend endlich mal wieder die Hähnchenbrust Indisch bekommen, einfach nur genial. Und das Rumpsteak Pfälzer Art, war wieder genial. Auch die vegetarischen Gerichte sind ein Genuss

Ok durch eine Nacht auf der Durchreise.

Hotel ist ganz gut aber der Herr, den ich bei meinen 2 Besuchen an der Rezeption hatte, scheint sehr unzufrieden mit seinem Leben oder sich selbst gewesen zu sein. Ob ich das Frühstück im Hotel dazu buche oder nicht, entscheide ich selbst! Den Spruch "Das Brötchen an der Tankstelle oder beim Bäcker kostet mit einem Kaffee zwar mehr als hier, aber wenn Sie meinen, es wäre billiger, ist das Ihre Sache" hätte er sich sonst wohin schieben können. Weder habe ich etwas in der Richtung gesagt, noch angedeutet. Beim zweiten Besuch wollte ich einen Chip, um die Schranke zu öffnen: "Wenn Sie auschecken möchten, müssen Sie den Schlüssel in das Körbchen dahinten reinwerfen. Steht aber auch eigentlich auf dem Zettel." Wie wäre es mal mit A*sch vom Stuhl bewegen und den Kunden fragen, was er für ein Anliegen hat? Geben Sie dem Typ ein Euro mehr die Stunde oder schmeißen Sie ihn raus. Geht mal garnicht, so ein Verhalten! Ich habe unserer Firma gesagt, dass ich in dieses Hotel nicht mehr will!

Schönes zentrales Hotel mit modernen, sauberen Zimmern. Es bietet alles was man braucht, Saunen und Pool laden zum Entspannen ein...Das Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend und sehr lecker....Service sehr freundlich, alles in allem prima !!!...Kommen auf alle Fälle wieder...

Sauberes, schönes Zimmer zur Straße hin. Dennoch leise. Frühstück vielfältig und lecker. Leider war meine Erfahrung die, dass mir als allein reisender Mutter nicht sehr (kinder)freundlich begegnet wurde. Obwohl wir angemeldet waren als eine erwachsene Person mit zwei Kindern waren nur zwei Kissen und zwei Decken im Zimmer. Beim Frühstück musste ich den Zimmerschlüssel vorzeigen um nachzuweisen, welches Zimmer ich hatte. Auch war die Lage unseres Tisches trotz noch nahezu leeren Frühstücksraums maximal weit vom Buffet entfernt, was sich alleine mit zwei Kindern zu zwei und vier Jahren eher schwierig gestaltete. Auch die Preispolitik war in unserem Fall etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, ich habe dasselbe bezahlt wie zwei erwachsene Gäste im Doppelzimmer. Begründung: wir hätten auch zwei Betten belegt. Schade, das Haus an sich hat mir eigentlich gut gefallen.
