Very nice evening, good food, good selection and the lady who served us was incredibly nice, I haven't experienced such courteous service for a long time. Sitting outside was very pleasant. The staff was super organized and quick with everything. Thanks, this deserves a review.

The best and hottest sour cream I have ever tasted. I would be happy if the shop in Munich also existed, and best of all in Haar. I love the ribs and the rump steak hmmm the Kreuter butter is also a real treat with the baguette.

It's really difficult for me to give this one star, but it's now the second time that I ordered my steak medium-well and was served an almost live cow. I expect a restaurant that specializes in steaks to have mastered this basic craft. A pity…

Addendum: The ambience has been refreshed a bit. So **** star -------------------------------------------------- We have been coming to this restaurant for almost 25 years. Our daughter “grew up” in the restaurant 😂 We come from time to time and since then we always eat... YES ALWAYS 🤭🤭🤭 the same thing: - Sirloin steak - Country Potatoes - Small salad and finally an espresso. The food is almost always equally good and the steak is almost always the way you order it, i.e. rare, well done, etc. That's almost always 100% for us. It's hard to believe, but JohnBenton has maintained this level for years and that's great. That's why we're going to eat steak here. We have already experienced many branch managers - in Benton they were mostly women - and all of them - including the current ones - are friendly and nice and hard-working. The service itself is quick and also very friendly and attentive. Here 98%. But there is a shortcoming that we have noticed for a long time And that's the setup. Unfortunately, it hasn't changed in 25 years. Just repainting and hanging new pictures is now not enough. The tables, the surface... we find all of this a bit creepy now. Time travel.

Our visit to John Benton Steakhouse was, in words, "A perfect evening." We spent an evening here with friends that was perfect in every respect. Food: The food was great. The menu offered a diverse selection, so there was something for every taste. The meat was cooked to perfection - juicy, tender and full of flavor. Particularly worth mentioning is of course the herb baguette, which is undoubtedly legendary and thrilled us all. Service: The service was first class. We received an extremely friendly welcome and the staff was attentive and courteous. All of our wishes were fulfilled promptly and with a smile. The staff were well trained and were able to provide us with expert advice, which made the entire experience even more pleasant. Ambiance: The ambience at John Benton is admittedly a bit old, but it was cozy, inviting and, despite the years, still in good, well-maintained condition. Conclusion: We agree - the John Benton steakhouse is definitely worth recommending. The combination of excellent food, outstanding service and pleasant ambience makes it an experience you'll want to repeat. We give it a full 5 stars and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Yesterday we were in this restaurant again for a long time. Unfortunately, a lot has changed for the worse since our last visit. I ordered the so-called “Fetzenburger” - at the proud price of €21.90. The best thing first - the meat on this burger (approx. 80 gr) was good. But everything - and I mean everything else was bad. The bun was dry as straw - a huge mountain of equally strawy fries, which were probably intended to hide the measly portion of meat - a micro portion of Coleslow, which consisted of mayonnaise with carrot pieces and only resembled a Coleslow from a distance and was inedible. To top it all off, a slice of sliced ​​cheese lay unmelted on the meat - and could therefore be removed! The fact is, apart from the meat and a few fries, the entire plate went back into the kitchen. The service was friendly and attentive - at least a small consolation.

Super friendly staff. We felt good. We had burgers, one of which was veggie - they were very tasty. And once a ribeye steak - it was cooked to perfection and a real treat (the only thing that should have been a bit reserved was the seasoning). Highly recommended!

We always enjoyed eating in this restaurant. However, the latest price increase is the last straw. Here, simple spare ribs cost €28 and half a beer costs €5.40 - that's not just expensive, it's already exorbitant. The interesting thing was that the restaurant was hardly attended. Most likely due to the price-performance ratio! Sorry, but please reconsider the pricing policy, because it is not calculated fairly - inflation, the energy crisis and the shortage of skilled workers no longer justify it.

It was my first time at this steakhouse and I wasn't disappointed. The ambience is clearly showing its age and is rather dark. The steak wasn't too big, but tasted good and my chosen cooking point was also met. The side dishes were standard, baguette so-so but the hash browns were good. Worth mentioning is the John Benton's Pot, which tasted so delicious that I ordered a portion to take away. The price-performance ratio is okay for Augsburg, but here in Munich good or better steaks are significantly more expensive. Service staff was attentive and friendly.

Most of the food was good, but the pancakes didn’t seem fresh. Two items were forgotten, one of which was brought out after the rest of the food was eaten. The menu in the restaurant has fewer items than the one shown online has, and one drink that was ordered came in a smaller bottle than the menu said, but cost 6,90 instead of 4,50. For €75 for breakfast, I expect less issues.

John Benton is a resturant who changed my life during a visit a year ago. Through the visit I met my current wife and many great new people with whom we are still in good contact today

We were there as a group (with reservation) after a visit to the Augsburg Christmas market. Ambiance okay, cozy. Food and drinks were quite good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, a big minus was the very unfriendly service and sometimes incorrect serving at the table (which the guest could have overlooked if they had been more friendly). Anyone who values ​​more or less pointless discussions and the barracks-like tone of the service is in good hands there. It's a shame that the kitchen's good work doesn't reach the table as it should.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be 😟 We have been getting spareribs regularly for years, but since the old team and tenant changed, the quality has also decreased. Today we had high hopes that it would taste better than it did a few weeks ago, but unfortunately we were really disappointed again 😞. Meat was tough, had large spare ribs with 3 layers and each layer was different 🤷🏼‍♀️ So we won't be ordering or eating there anymore because we miss the good old cuisine, the old original John Benton cuisine.

Good steakhouse where the price-performance ratio is right, the atmosphere is also cozy and pleasant and tempts you to stay there longer. It's not for nothing that John Benton has been one of the best steakhouses in Augsburg for decades.

I like the food at John Benton. Ambience rather rustic, old-fashioned and dark. There is now a new, colorful and modern menu with photos, more burgers and more desserts, as well as cocktails.

I've known John B for a very long time. I was there again recently. Unfortunately I didn't like it and it's totally overpriced. So it was done for me personally. I think it's cheeky for €5 for a sauce!

We came across this restaurant by chance through Google Maps because we wanted to eat a quality steak. My friend ordered a rib eye steak (medium) with a side salad and fries. And I ordered a turkey steak with sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, the degree of doneness of the steak was not met; the steak was cooked unevenly to medium well. When we told the waitress When we said the end, there was no reaction. My turkey steak was oversalted… We cannot recommend the restaurant for this price range. Especially since our neighboring table had similar problems.

Were at John Benton again today, haven't been there for a while because the service has gotten worse and the prices are also high. I was looking forward to my salad with the house dressing, but was very disappointed. The dressing was only light in color, was diluted with a lot of water, and that's how it tasted. The sour cream used to be unique, now it's just one solid cream Country potatoes used to be much better. I don't think we'll come back anymore. We used to be there at least once a week. The young gentleman (service person) was very accommodating. If you're going to raise the prices so much, you should at least maintain the quality of the food.

Ambiente wie in einem Karstadt Restaurant. Speisen auf niedrigstem Niveau. Wir hatten dreimal Ribs und alle drei Portionieren waren für knapp 30,— Euro ausreichend groß. Leider war die Qualität wirklich unterirdisch. Trocken, mit viel zu viel Pfeffer. Ansonsten geschmacklich gen Null tendierende Sauce. Beilagen und Drinks OK. Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Noch einmal? No way!

There were six of us here. We reserved the places 4 weeks in advance. The table was not set, the tables had to be pushed together first. Cutlery for 3 people. Drinks came after the meal, as the ice cream had to be delivered from the kitchen first?????Food ok, but nothing special. The leather seats are all ripped open and you ruin your clothes. The restaurant is run down and urgently needs renovation. Price too expensive because the ambience is miserable. There are by far nicer restaurants in Augsburg.

Been there again after years and what can I say. Pure disappointment! The facility, which is already showing its age, desperately needs it. Still very dark and the furniture looks dingy. The steak was lukewarm, the recipe for the sour cream on the baked potato had apparently been changed and it tasted terrible. Compared to other steakhouses, such as... b. the Abaccos, far too expensive with poorer quality. I found out that the old owner no longer runs it, which may be because it doesn't taste as good as it used to. The only positive thing was the service.

It definitely tastes good. Nothing to complain about now. However, it is not excellent for my taste now. You could have pretty much managed it yourself. The quality of the meat was good, but not outstanding in my opinion. I would have expected a little more. The operator was very friendly.

Wir kommen seit Jahren/Jahrzehnten in dieses Restaurant, der Service, das Angebot und alle Gerichte sind gleich bleibend TOP!! Unbedingt reservieren, zu jeder Zeit! Stets sehr gut besucht!

Vielversprechender beginn...freundliche Bedienung..dann kam das Essen. 3 verschiedene Gerichte bei denen 2 mit der falschen Kombination serviert wurden. Wäre kein Problem...wurde pragmatisch gelöst. Grossspurig wurde dann verlautet Getränke würden wegen des Fauxpas auf das Haus gehen. Bei der Rechnung dann doe Überraschung...statt Getränken unsonst gab es immerhin Bonbons und Lutscher. Zum durchwachsenen Service merkte man dem Essen auch an das es Freitags abend war Insgesamt ein nicht zufriedenstellender Abend.

Das Lokal befindet sich in der Umgebung von der Stadtmitte Maximilian. Innen sehr dunkel, und komisches Ambiente. Essen : Steak Trocken, und die Ribchen kathastrophe voll mit Soße null Geschmack.

Sehr gutes Essen, wunderbarer Service von Lara. Wir haben heute zum ersten Mal im John Benton gegessen, die Vorspeisen waren sehr gut, das Filet sensationell auf den Punkt, butterzart. Sehr leckere Desserts. Hervorzuheben der charmante und perfekte Servive von Lara. Vielen Dank für den schönen Nachmittag.

War zum wiederholten Mal dort zum Essen. Das Essen ist weiterhin ausgezeichnet. Allerdings hält der Service nicht mit. Auf die Frage, ob ich zur Vorspeise ein Messer erhalten könne, wurde mir gesagt, dass dies schwierig sei, da nicht genügend Messer da seien. Auch wurde der Beilagensalat zur Hauptspeise genauso wie die zusätzlich bestellte Sauce vergessen und erst nach ca. fünf Minuten gebracht. Auch musste man auf die Getränke sehr lange warten. Das Ambiente ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf einer Auffrischung.

waren nach langem mal wieder da, hat wie immer sehr fein geschmeckt, service sehr nett. Nur hinten ist es etwas eng mit den Tischen und Das Licht könnte etwas heller sein. Aber es ist sehr empfehlenswert!

Ein gelungener Abend. Die Bedienung war mega,freundlich zuvorkommend und sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen war sehr gut, Bestellt habe ich ein Filet medium, einfach ein Genuss, Danke an das John Benton Team.

Essen qualitativ hochwertig, Preise für Hauptgerichte sind noch in Ordnung, alles andere mittlerweile wirklich gepfeffert. Die Bedingung hat unseren Tisch (mehr als 8 Gäste) recht zuverlässig bedient, etwas seltsam fand ich jedoch dass sie jeden explizit nach Trinkgeld gefragt hat. Ich verstehe schon, die gebeutelte Gastro etc. aber es gibt in DE immer noch Mindestlohn und wer es nicht einmal schafft 10% im Kopf zu überschlagen sondern jedesmal den Taschenrechner zückt macht schon einen sehr gierigen Eindruck auf mich.

Herzlicher Service und hervorragende Steaks. Wir kommen wieder!

Gutes Steakhaus mit reellen Preisen. Einrichtung seit Jahrzehnten gleich, aber auch die Qualität. Nicht so hipp wie andere Adressen, aber definitiv jeden Cent wert. Und sogar günstiger im Vergleich. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass der Geschmack noch besser wurde. Was will man mehr? Es schmeckt!

Everything was alright , untill the steak was too rare and the waitress told us we should have had just ordered a medium instead of our medium rare, sadly i didnt took a picture but we could have tasted the cold ice inside of the steak ,thats how rare it was, i am pretty sure it could have been a great steak if it was better made.

Selbst wenn man reserviert hat, muss man eine halbe Stunde warten und kommt immer noch nicht an seinen Tisch. Schlechtes Konzept seine Kunden warten zu lassen.

Steaks sind super und schmecken auch gut, aber sie haben neue Kellnerin, die ein bisschen älter ist. Ich finde es voll respektlos, wenn Menschen zahlen wollen dazu fragen „wie viel darf ich Trinkgeld geben?“ Sorry aber so was entscheidet man selber.

Das Essen war kalt und haben es zurück gehen lassen, die Reaktion war schnippisch und patzig. Ich komme aus NRW und werde beim nächsten Besuch definitiv nicht mehr dort einkehren.

Für die Sophie von mir mindestens 5 Sterne für erstklassigen Service und freudlichen Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nur einen Tipp von mir: bitte nimmt schönere Becher für Eis und nicht altbackene kleine Schüsseln 🙈🙈🙈

Wir waren neulich Abend zum Essen zu zweit hier. Das Hüftsteak mit Kartoffelecken war wirklich hervorragend, von vorne bis hinten. Salat ebenfalls sehr lecker. Meine Frau hatte den Spieß; Hier waren die Fleischwürfel leider recht zäh und durchwachsen. So etwas ist bei Rind immer unglücklich, jedoch hat der absolut geniale Service mit Espresso/Shot für beide dies souverän wieder ausgebügelt. Überhaupt muss man den Service loben, die junge Dame, die uns bediente, war sehr zuvorkommend und herzlich. Wir werden wiederkommen, uns dann aber beide eher an die Steaks halten und von Spießen Abstand nehmen. Dann sollten die fünf Sterne drin sein ;-)

Spare ribs waren eher zäh bis trocken. Die sollten in einem Steakhouse eigentlich top sein. Ambiente und Service waren Super.

Absolut tolles Lokal! Ich bestelle immer Rumpsteak und die Ofenkartoffel, die ich dazu nehme, ist die beste die ich jemals hatte. Die Sourcream ist der Wahnsinn und sie packen auch genug von drauf. Das Steak hat immer den richtigen Gargrad und das Essen kommt recht zügig. Das Lokal lässt sich mit den Öffentlichen gut erreichen. Einziger Nachteil ist die Parkplatzsituation, falls man doch mit dem Auto anreisen möchte. Absolute Empfehlung und mein lieblings-Steaklokal!

Ich habe lang nicht mehr so gut gegessen wie dort! Super Service, sehr tolles Ambiente und auch preislich definitiv alles optimal, ich kann jedem empfehlen, der in Augsburg unterwegs ist, dort Essen zu gehen. Ich würde allein dafür wieder in die Stadt kommen.

Essen sehr lecker! Personal sehr freundlich und der Boss ist der Hammer. Nur zum weiterempfehlen!

Steak war sehr lecker, Pommes leider nicht. Und 20 Minuten lang kam niemand an unseren Tisch oder hat uns auch nur eines Blickes gewürdigt, obwohl alle Getränke leer waren und wir zahlen wollten.

Leider musste ich feststellen das man nicht das Fleisch bekommt das man bestellt und es war kein Versehen den beim 2mal das gleiche Spiel...sonst war alles super... tolle freundliche Bedienungen essen war sehr sehr lecker ist zu empfehlen...!!! Essen 2sterne weg wegen falschem fleisch

Ich habe einen BBQ-Burger bestellt, der nicht gut geschmeckt hat. Aber das Innere ist nett und die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und respektvoll.

Supreme steakhouse in Augsburg. Ambiente is a bit outdated but this is compensated by the team and the service they are providing. Menu has the easy option to chose a preconfigured set of steak+sauce+sites. For those who want a more dedicated choice you can chose between the steak and sizes and combine as you wish. Steaks and quality are out of questions! Overall a fair deal of quality and prices. Please be aware parking is complicated is the whole area. I would always recommend to go by public transportation to the inner city of Augsburg.

Lecker lecker! Wir waren werden da Studienzeit zu besonderen Anlässen immer im John Benton und haben es jetzt nach 15 Jahren bei einem Besuch in Augsburg noch mal getestet und es ist immer noch super lecker und das Fleisch auf den Punkt gegart

Heute wurden wir bedient von der service Kraft Sophie. Sie war sehr freundlich und höfflich. Wir haben uns als Gäste sehr wohl gefühlt.

Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend. Beim zubereiten des Essens kann man zuschaue da es eine "offene" Küche ist. Die Speisekarte ist Übersicht und gut strukturiert. Preis-Leistung ist gut und die Qualität des Essens einwandfrei... alle zubereiten Steaks waren genau so gebraten wie sie bestellt wurden!

Wir waren6.09.23 zum Mittag im Restaurant. Die Speisekarte machte eine guten Eindruck. Nach der Bestellung mussten wir ca 25 Min auf das Essen warten. Die Fleischqualität war ausreichen. kräuterbutter gibt es nicht mehr, nur eine Creme, welche nicht einfach schlecht gemacht war. Das Messer zum Besteck war einfach stumpf. Bei nachfrge an den Service hieß es, sie haben andere Messer da, müsste man aber verlangen. ??? Steakhouse ??? Wir bestellten noch ein Dessert. Nach 20 Min bekamen wir die Info, das sie erst Sahne kaufen müssten. Dessert fiel aus. Die Getränke sind überteuert. 5,50 Euro für 0,5 Liter Bier und 8.00 Euro für 0,2 l Wein

Wir waren heute wieder im John Benton und bedauerlicherweise muß ich meine positive Bewertung vor 8 Monaten revidieren. Waren mittlerweile in den vergangenen Monaten wiederholt im Lokal und sind immer mehr enttäuscht. Platz trotz Reservierung und leerem Lokal nicht schön, Ambiente nicht gut, Service auch nicht herausragend und zu guter letzt ist das Essen auch nichts mehr. Ich bestelle dort seit vielen Jahren immer das gleiche Gericht. Es fängt an der Salatbar an, eine Schale mit Essiggurken und Coktailtomaten werden nun,an der früher üppigen und reichhaltigen Salatbar präsentiert. Ich hatte mir früher zu jedem Essen einen Salat zum selbst holen bestellt. Darauf hat man jetzt bei der minimalen Auswahl keine Lust mehr. Die Baguettes, die zu jedem Hauptgang gereicht werden sind leider auch im Ansatz kein Vergleich mehr zu früher. Die Soße zum Fleisch passt nicht mehr und leider war das Fleisch auch nicht mehr mit dem von früher vergleichbar. Alles in allem muss ich sagen, ich würde die Preise gerne bezahlen wenn es sich lohnt. Leider ist dies nicht mehr der Fall. Pächterwechsel hin oder her, wirtschaftlich schwierige Situation, ok kann ich verstehen aber das John Benton bestach immer durch gute Qualität und Klasse. Und das fehlt nun. Schade!
