If you love meat and good food, and a modern, rustic ambiance, you'll find what you're looking for at the Blockhaus. A well-structured menu at reasonable prices, attentive, very friendly, and prompt service, good advice, and no long wait times make your visit a special experience. We were treated to a perfectly cooked ribeye steak, accompanied by a delicious salad with a variety of dressings, and there was also something for those with a smaller appetite. Requests are always catered for. It was a delight and an experience. Highly recommended. We'd love to come back. Thank you for the wonderful time we had here.

The young waitress was truly excellent, very dedicated and friendly. 10/10 The manager, Mr. Dietz, was also a very good, pleasant, and dedicated host; as a restaurateur, you have absolutely nothing to complain about. The food was, as always, super fresh and cooked to perfection.

A thoroughly successful evening We celebrated my wife's birthday here and were absolutely thrilled. When our friendly waiter, Jacob, found out about the occasion, he immediately surprised us all with a glass of sparkling wine – a lovely and thoughtful gesture. The service was excellent overall: friendly, prompt, and very attentive. Everyone loved the food, too – both in terms of taste and presentation. A lovely evening in a pleasant atmosphere. The portions have shrunk considerably and the prices have become extremely expensive

It's fascinating that you can see so much through the open kitchen and, surprisingly, no "cooking smell" wafts into the restaurant. Unfortunately, this also reveals that almost everything is pre-portioned and vacuum-sealed. Each portion of potato gratin is individually vacuum-sealed and then reheated (sorry, but I can do that at home). Each portion of sauce is packaged in a small bag, and each piece of meat is individually vacuum-sealed. To prepare a main course, 3-4 vacuum-sealed bags were simply cut open and thrown away (not exactly environmentally friendly). My baked potato was badly burnt, very dry (despite the added sour cream), and cold. The rump steak was (for one of those) very marbled. The garlic bread and dessert were truly delicious. However, there was some confusion here; the blackboard in the restaurant listed chocolate lava cake with blueberry topping and vanilla ice cream, while the dessert menu listed it without ice cream, but with whipped cream. So, I ordered ice cream separately (and paid extra, of course). The blueberry topping was also (unannounced) a cherry topping (which I personally don't mind, but is certainly interesting for allergy sufferers). The main course could have been more substantial for the price; none of us were filled. The drink prices are outrageous: €6.90 for a 0.45L fruit juice spritzer! The salad buffet looks nice, but you don't help yourself; the salad is freshly prepared by the staff and brought to your table. Although the restaurant was not even half full, the service staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and stressed.

We stopped in Ausburg overnight and went to the Block House for our evening meal. I had the vegetable linguine and my husband had the fillet steak. Both meals were delicious and beautifully presented. I have never tasted better linguine than this, just enough veg, red onion, red and yellow peppers, mange tout and garlic, over home made pasta - delicious! Hubby said his steak was also well prepared and tasted good. Friendly staff here too and lovely atmosphere.

We visited the restaurant on June 7, 2025, with my Rhodesian Ridgeback. It's a dog-friendly institution; the giant disappeared under the table. :) Jakob's service is impeccable. Very good quality meat, which sets the standard for restaurants at this price. The cozy BLOCK HOUSE interior is typical! Highly recommended.

Mr. Van even left a bowl of sour cream on my plate when I was running low. Mr. Van, the best man! And at the end, there was even a large gummy bear by the door – the highlight for my wife. The Block House is an established restaurant with a smooth flow. The service is impressively attentive and friendly. The ordered dishes were served promptly. The value for money is decent. The steaks were good, although they lacked that final touch to achieve top marks. The same applies to the ambiance inside. The dining room feels a bit gloomy.

Unfortunately, the experience was still not entirely satisfactory. We had made a reservation and when we arrived our waiter took us to the place. But then the discussion began. Apparently another waiter promised seats to a group of 20 1.5 hours later and they wanted to sit us at a table for 6 (we were 8 people). We politely declined. We didn't want to promise whether we would be finished after 1.5 hours. After all, it's not fast food and a steak house should be an experience. It was then decided that we could stay seated, but unfortunately we had to see that our waiter got into trouble even though he didn't do anything wrong. This one waiter was also the only one who offered a smile. The worst part was the manager, who didn't raise the corners of her mouth for a second. I know that it is difficult to get trained staff, but this is something that needs to be sharpened up. Luckily we had the one waiter who was good. Because of the good food, I would still give it 4 stars, even if I had to think twice about going there again.

We were looking forward to a cozy evening with a friend and were unfortunately disappointed. The ambience is already worn out and made a rather loveless impression. The food was good - but price-performance is more of a challenge: € 5.50 for a wheat beer? The service was politely reserved (if you want to look at that in a positive light): no one cared. If you don't report, no one will come. Come on, friends - can you do better? When the customer orders the dessert menu, I ask him a few minutes later whether he has chosen something. After all, you don't make any sales with just the card without an order - right?

Es sollten 3,5 Sterne werden, die man aber nicht vergeben kann, und ohne den unangenehmen Manager wären es 4 (eigentlich 4,5) geworden. Aber der Reihe nach: Der Geschmack des Essens gab zu keinerlei Beanstandungen Anlass, was im Grunde das höchste Lob ist, das ich zu vergeben habe. (Einzig der lasche Sauerrahm pur auf der Ofen-Kartoffel ist nicht meins, weswegen ich selbigen auch nie bestelle.) Problematisch finde ich die immer kleiner werdenden (Fleisch)-Portionen. Mein amerikanischer Salat steht mit zwei Putensteaks auf der Karte, es sind auch zwei drauf, aber die kleinst auftreibbaren, ich vermute: eines halbiert. Damit kann ich als Frau, die auf ihr Gewicht achtet, leben, aber meine Freundin hatte die Filetmedaillons für 24 Euro, die man wirklich mit der Lupe suchen musste. Von uns fünf gingen drei hungrig nach Hause, wo ich dann Sandwiches machte. (Bei den heutigen Preisen bleiben wir sowieso nicht mehr im Lokal sitzen, um noch das eine oder andere zu trinken; das hat sich längst in die eigenen vier Wände verlegt, was dem Blockhaus sogar recht sein dürfte, um den Tisch neu vergeben zu können.) Man hätte natürlich mehr Beilagen ordern können, die sind im Preis okay, nur geht man halt nicht für Ofengemüse und Pommes in Steakhaus, jedenfalls nicht mein Mann, der mit dem Tagesgericht (300 g Angussteak mit Beilagen) allerdings ausgesprochen zufrieden war - und nicht ein weiteres männliches Mitglied unserer Runde, das relativ fassungslos auf seine Mini-Portion Putenbruststeaks äugte. Wir orderten tatsächlich 2 x Pommes nach, die aber nicht kamen, weshalb wir's nach 20 Minuten gut sein ließen. Der Keller war freundlich, vielleicht neu und noch etwas ungewandt, damit kann ich leben, denn Freundlichkeit ist nicht mehr selbstverständlich in der Gastronomie, was der Manager/Chefkellern/Platzanweiser, wie auch immer seine Rangbezeichnung lautet, nachhaltig bewies. Nach der Erstbestellung fiel mir ein, dass wir (das ungewöhnlich gute Blockhaus-) Ketchup benötigen werden (solche "Extras", die für mich Unabdingbarkeiten sind, stehen mittlerweile nicht mehr einfach auf dem Tisch). Ich äußerte winkend meinen Wunsch, denn die Pommes (auch das ein kleiner Kritikpunkt) kommen meistens nur lauwarm, vermutlich, weil sie zu lange stehen, und wenn man dann noch 10 Minuten aufs Ketchup warten muss, ist die Nummer durch. Daraufhin der Manager, ein Muster an kalter, den Gast zum lästigen Bittsteller degradierender Überheblichkeit: "Jetzt kümmern wir uns erstmal um Ihre Bestellung, dann können Sie immer noch Ketchup verlangen." Da verschlägt's einem wirklich die Sprache. Fazit: Essen top, Menge naja, Kellner etwas überfordert, aber freundlich und bemüht, der Chef im Ring: oje.

That was a disaster!! We waited almost an hour for our food (and with three children). What came next was, to be honest, a disgrace! The steak was fried to death, the baked potato was cold... and the highlight was my daughter's “Magic Burger” (see picture). Just a fried dry piece of minced meat with garlic bread without anything. I felt so sorry for my 7 year old daughter.

We were guests in beautiful Augsburg for the real estate congress and had an appetite for a delicious steak on Thursday evening. Our expectations were more than met, even with the delicious starters. It was so delicious that we were guests at the BlockHouse again the following evening and we were once again given a great welcome and hospitality. I have to particularly warn you about the LavaCake, as there is an absolute danger of addiction.

We celebrated a birthday at the Block House and absolutely loved it! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. As a special highlight, there was a welcome champagne (or orange juice) for the birthday child, accompanied by happy birthday music and a fountain - that made the evening unforgettable. A particularly personal moment was the group photo, which was taken on site and immortalized in a beautiful card. It was a great memory to take home with us. And as if that wasn't enough, there was even a jar of honey as a gift at the end - a truly loving gesture. The food was, as always at the Block House, excellent. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, a wonderful celebration with a personal touch that goes far beyond the usual. We will definitely be back and would recommend Block House to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion! 5/5 stars!

For a steakhouse in the mid-price segment, it is my first choice in Augsburg! The service is first class and the price/performance ratio is right!! Some work could be done on the inventory!

It's funny when I read all the reviews, we weren't greeted or farewell, we just had to wait a long time for the drinks, the atmosphere with the salad at the entrance was more like a canteen than an upscale restaurant, the constant running around of the chefs and The waiter there didn't allow for an upscale atmosphere either. The music was very loud and hideous, I also find the surcharge of 11 € for 1 potato and piece of bread for a steak for 2 people very, very blatant and exaggerated. Bei allen 4 perfekt so wie wir es bestellt hatten. Unglaublich zart, geschmackvoll. Selbst die Pommes waren grandios. Keine Ahnung aber Pommes zu nennen ist echt Wahnsinn. Lokation: Tja das ist schon älter. Dringend renovierungsbedarf. Es ist alles noch top in Schuss aber man merkt da könnte ein neuer Anstrich und Möbel rein. Preise: 160 g Filet für 29 ist teuer. Wir haben es akzeptiert weil das Gesamtpaket passt. Man muss in anderen Läden nicht mehr zahlen.

I've never been so ripped off! Although I come from the catering industry and thought I had already seen a lot, the visit was really a joke. I thought a camera team would come along at any moment and shout "hidden camera"... I had ordered a classic burger with beef from MV and potatoes, but what I got was a fart-dry boulette (or as they say in Bavaria: Fleichflanzerl). a burnt potato and a piece of bread drowned in fat, all for just under 20 euros. When I left the store I was thinking about whether I should sue them for unfair competition, but I would only be annoyed for months and this store just isn't worth it. Oh yes, I was then offered another piece of bread so that I could “build my own” burgers. That was the biggest fool! Back to school! Learn about the food, law and customer friendliness and then try writing a menu again!

Parking in the inner courtyard is not a problem, but there could be a tip on the homepage that says you have to call briefly while standing at the barrier to be let in! We recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner at this restaurant and loved it from start to finish. The ambience was upscale but not over the top, creating a very pleasant and inviting atmosphere. We particularly liked the view into the open kitchen, which gave the whole thing a special touch. When it came to eating, we were supported in our selection by helpful recommendations. We chose steak, salad and dessert. The steak was grilled to perfection and the presentation of the dishes was simply outstanding. Every bite was a pleasure and the taste was great. The price was absolutely reasonable, especially considering the quality and excellent service. Of course it is a steakhouse, and we paid a total of €110 for a starter, dessert, two steaks (180g and 350g each) including a baked potato and three drinks each. In my opinion, this was absolutely fair for a successful evening. Overall, a great experience that I would happily recommend.

The Blockhouse can be found directly on Ulrichplatz. Here you have the option of sitting inside or outside. My recommendation is of course to get out in the fresh air, as there is almost no traffic here. So you can have a conversation there at a normal volume. The food is delicious and the price/performance ratio is also good. Only drinking is expensive. For example, a Spezi 0.33 l costs 4.70 euros.

I ate very well here and was served in an absolutely friendly and prompt manner. Because there was no (meat) weight on the menu, I was not disappointed with the small amount of meat in the filet mignon with two good side dishes. Only one of the two pieces was not as tender as I had hoped, which I pointed out in a friendly and understanding way, since meat is a natural product. I was still absolutely satisfied at a fair price and would be happy to come back. The piece of meat, which was fortunately slightly larger, was very tender and delicious, along with the good side dishes!
