Enjoyed a wonderful Japanese-oriented menu, beautifully presented, very pleasant atmosphere, (with the large wine selection it makes sense to book the very tasteful mini suite). Great and attentive hosts. Definitely recommended if you want to experience a culinary journey.

The two of us spent a wonderful evening at Irori. The menu offered was excellently coordinated. Kerstin's wine recommendations matched this, and they harmonized wonderfully with the individual courses. Together with attentive service, a wonderful journey into Japanese gourmet cuisine with a Palatinate cross-over.

A culinary revelation! We went to Irori for late lunch and were very excited to see what Kerstin and Max had created here. After we got to know and love them both in their former field of activity, we were of course delighted. We weren't disappointed... as expected, the dishes were tasty to the taste... mouth... hard on the acid, but always excellent... and he can do puff pastry too...^^ There are a lot of small courses and you can enjoy it for 4 hours - always under the watchful eye of the excellent service. Here Kerstin gave us particularly good advice on the drinks - the courses were solid, but intolerances mentioned in advance were taken into account. Our jelly was the pigeon - I have never eaten a better pigeon breast!!!!! We are already looking forward to our next visit to the Palatinate.

The term that best describes the late lunch is probably outstanding. Outstanding because for us it didn't feel like a visit to a restaurant, more like being part of a culinary performance. Outstanding because each course was a unique taste experience in itself - and all 9 courses as a whole were very harmonious anyway or precisely because of that. Outstanding because the ambience and service were present but unobtrusive and people met - literally - at eye level. And last but not least: It was certainly not the first star menu, but definitely one of the most special menus.

Wonderful evening! Ambiance, drinks, service and food were great. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The wine list is very extensive with great wines, especially from France and Germany. You should definitely try the sake recommendation. My highlights were the pickled cucumber, the trout, the quail and of course (!) the desserts :)

A recommendation from several friends. When we entered the restaurant we immediately felt at home. The atmosphere is nice in a positive sense. No extravagance. Comfortable chairs, tables with sufficient distance, discreet music. As the evening progressed it became louder and the good atmosphere became even more relaxed. The guests seemed to enjoy the wine list and were obviously not averse to enjoying it. The menu offers a good selection and the prices are calculated in a hospitable manner. The menu card placed on the table was reminiscent of the Japanese art of folding origami. The dishes were a feast for the eyes and the wine glasses were high quality. The cutlery was pleasant both in its appearance and in its use. Didn't they have the same thing in the Intense? Whatever Max Goldberg had served made people happy 😊. Not cerebral, but well thought out. If you're alone at the stove, you have to work smart, otherwise you'll quickly come under pressure. The techniques and cutting shapes, the number of elements that are ultimately to be arranged on the plate, basically the presentation, everything has to be right. Max Goldberg did this on our evening. We were more than satisfied. Every course was convincing. Once one was consumed, people looked forward to the next one. However, it couldn't have been better, as everything from the first greetings from the kitchen to the final dessert was simply delicious. The fact that they only charge €140.00 for the menu seems generous. More and more “one-stars” are moving towards €200.00, some are already above that. Will this work in the long term? The conclusion: The visit to Irori was balm for the soul. Max Goldberg impressed. His menu was convincing across the board. Honoring his performance with a star seems appropriate. Also under the impression that he acts as the sole chef. The hospitality of Kerstin Bauer and her young colleague was warm and relaxed. An uncomplicated evening that we would like to repeat. We felt very comfortable, thank you for your commitment ❤️.

Embarking on a culinary journey that harmonizes local ingredients with captivating Japanese influences, the restaurant promises a palate-pleasing experience. Attentive staff adds a touch of professionalism to the dining venture, ensuring impeccable service throughout. Additionally, for wine enthusiasts, a curated selection of red and white wines can be expertly paired with dishes, courtesy of Soilaire's expertise. While there were many commendable aspects of the restaurant, some areas warrant improvement. An extensive 10-course offering might overwhelm diners seeking a more concise dining experience; thus, reducing the number of courses could cater to a wider range of preferences. While the predominant use of dashi-based and ponzu sauces adds authenticity to our dishes, it overshadows the unique flavors of other ingredients. Having spent considerable time in Japan, I've observed a disparity between the Japanese food names on menus and the actual dishes served. Given the fusion nature of the cuisine, employing unique, descriptive names rather than traditional Japanese food names can enhance our customers' understanding and appreciation of fusion dishes. Such thoughtful naming will surely enrich the dining experience for patrons. The boiled port belly in a ponzu base. A standout dish that seamlessly marries local ingredients with captivating Japanese influences, truly stole the show. Undoubtedly merits a prominent place on the mail menu!

Very varied, very opulent (the starter alone consisted of 5 small courses), followed by 8 more. A total of 4.5 hours with late lunch from 2 p.m. The star is deserved. Lots of space at the table.

A place made for enjoyment. You arrive and feel comfortable. Max and Kerstin are wonderful hosts. The only thing you have to bring with you is time - which is wonderfully filled with a stream of harmoniously coordinated little things from the kitchen that always take you into new worlds of taste. The service is friendly, at eye level without ever seeming stiff. A well-curated wine selection leaves nothing to be desired and even without % there are exciting alternatives. This turns an evening into a little vacation!

We had a great evening with a pleasant atmosphere, very friendly and professional service and delicious dishes. The courses consisted partly of simple (but still very tasty) and partly of very sophisticated combinations. Particularly noteworthy was the perch - for us one of the best courses we've had in a long time. There was a very tasty non-alcoholic aperitif, but for our taste there would have been a few more non-alcoholic alternatives to juice. Our tip here would be the Jörg Geiger factory. Overall it was really nice and we would love to come back!

Ausgefallene Kombinationen aus lokalen Produkten, die alle selbst haltbar gemacht und aufwendig dann zusammengeführt werden von dem Meister Max. Fleisch kommt vom lokalen Bauern und man kennt sich. Partnerschaft wird hoch gehalten. Toller Service mit wahnsinnig viel Fachwissen. Hier mehr merkt man, dass beide viel Erfahrung aus der Sterne Küche mitbringen und es wahnsinnig angenehm in ihr eigenes Konzept gepackt haben. Die Wrinauswahl ist ebenfalls hervorragend. Alles ist sehr gut durchdacht. Preis Leistung ist super.

Heute haben wir bei Kerstin & Max im irori einen ganz besonderen Nachmittag erleben dürfen. Wir wurden mit ausgezeichneten Gerichten verwöhnt, bei denen die Zutaten hauptsächlich aus der Region kommen. Wir können gar nicht sagen, welches Gericht am besten war. Ob Aal, Taube, Saibling, Kopfsalat usw. war jeder Gang ein Genuss. Hier ein ganz großes Lob an Max hinter dem Herd. Kerstin hat uns in ihrer netten und offenen Art geholfen den passenden Wein zu finden und hat uns jedes einzelne Gericht grandios erläutert. Vielen lieben Dank an euch Beide für den tollen Mittag, den wir lange in Erinnerung behalten werden. Auf jeden Fall werden wir euch wieder in Diedesfeld besuchen kommen.

Wir durften vergangenes Wochenende bei Kerstin & Max einkehren. Nach einem äußerst herzlichen, familiären Empfang wurden wir in den sehr schön und filigran hergerichteten Gastraum geführt. Sowohl die Speisen als auch die Weinkarte war in unseren Augen perfekt(Sowohl die Auswahl, als auch die Preise). Besonders schön fanden wir die Wiederkehr einzelner Produkte (egal ob es Topinambur war oder das Weidenrind), getreu dem Motto „From Nose to Tail“. Auch die Vielzahl der Garmethoden und Techniken der Konservierung hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Der Service war Top ohne dabei aufdringlich zu wirken. Alles in allem lässt sich sagen: bisschen wie nach Hause kommen. Wir freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Besuch.

Kerstin und Max, Sie als Sommelier, er als Koch servieren anspruchsvolles, ausgeklügeltes Essen mit passenden Weinen. Die Zutaten sind hervorragend ausgewählt, regional und stehen im Mittelpunkt der Gerichte. Meist werden Sie mit Saucen, Cremes, Gewürzen oder auch einfach nur durch die Zubereitung auf dem namensgebenden Irori verfeinert. Was die Weinauswahl angeht ist von süffig bis anspruchsvoll, von konventionell bis Naturwein alles vorhanden. Weinfreunde haben genau so viel Spass, wie Gäste die einfach nur etwas passendes zum Essen wollen.

Gäste im Restaurant sind auf rd. 20 begrenzt. Damit gibt es viel Platz zwischen den Tischen. Ein tolles 10 Gang Menü mit vielen highlight’s. Die Küche ist deutlich japanisch/asiatisch angehaucht. Die Portionen sind klein (was den Spaß über den ganzen Abend aufrecht hält). Die Weinkarte ist vielfältig mit vielen herausragenden Winzern, im wesentlichen aus Europa. Der Service war super mit einer guten Mischung aus Nähe und Distanz. Die Weinberatung kompetent und wissensreich. Das Ironi kann ich nur empfehlen.

Kreative Küche und herzlicher Service, beides mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Fokus in der Küche: Saisonal, regional und nachhaltig. Fleisch, Fisch oder Gemüse tauchen nur auf der Karte auf, wenn die Erzeuger/Bauern mit den genannten Kriterien auch überzeugt haben. Die Weinkarte bildet die bevorzugten Anbaugebiete der beiden Gastgeber ab. Das sind neben der Pfalz insbesondere Jura, Burgund und die Champagne. Übrigens zu sehr fairen Preisen.

So happy I found this new restaurant on the Michelin Guide - superb food. Sometimes a 10 course (or similar) tasting menu lacks substance or connection to the core ingredients, but Irori nailed that balance between refinement/experimentation and simply delicious, recognisable food. Gorgeous open and calm space, super friendly service. Loved it. Don’t let the lack of reviews put you off - it’s just because it’s super new!
