Indischer Curryhut in Köln

First of all we asked if we can have a big cola but he only said they had small at the way to the bathroom I saw that they lied to us they war over 5 big bottles of cola.Second food was ok me and the guy next to me ordered the tikka masala mine came cold but HIS WAS JUST ON A GRILL LIKE IT CAM BURNING HOT WITH SMOKE AND THOSE NEXT TO ME LOVED IT WHILE I GET PLAIN OLD COLD ONES?.Third I saw a glimpse of the kitchen it was a little bit dirty. Fourth We ARE ALSO FROM INDIA I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE NICER OR SOMETHING BUT NO THE ONES NEXT US WERE GERMAN PLUS THEY CAME TO ASK THEM EVERY MINUTE DO YOU NEED SOMETHING? like we want that to but no he didnt treat us like a 5 star meal They war having.fifth food was ok some didn't have flavour or they war put with alot of sugar or to much salt or other stuff . Sixth WHAT A COINCEDENCE AFTER WE ATE HERE MY LITTLE BROTHER GOT SICK AND AFTER THAT MY ENTIRE FAMILY GOT SICK SINCE THAT DAY IVE GOTTEN A LITTLE BIT BERTER BUT MY MOM AND DAD ARE STILL SICK

I'd love to come back! Preferably during lunchtime, as there is always a lunch special. Really top, great staff & fast service. The food is always great!

Enjoyed a very tasty lunch in the pleasant sunshine in April. Large veggie selection with delicious paneer and butter chicken, Garluc naan and battura.

Tasty Indian food with cozy atmosphere giving feeling of India outside India.

Flavor of India is my favorite Indian. In my opinion they make the best butter chicken in town. I also recommend the Garlic Naan (bread) and the Mango Lassi.

Mhhh, kind of a strange shop. Lentil soup tasted good and the waitress was nice too, but his timing was super bad. Lamb Korma was too sweet for me personally and when I wanted to pay, I asked to pay by card. “That’s not possible at the moment.” - I didn't see any sign anywhere. When I then said that I didn't have any cash with me, I suddenly had to come to the counter. Card payment suddenly worked. 🙃 Extremely questionable behavior.

Visited the restaurant with my international clients. They all loved the food. We sat in the back patio, which was lovely.

Amazing time at Flavour of India

Unbelievable desert of service – rip-off to the second! An experience that left me speechless. Discounted lunch specials were advertised outside the restaurant, so we decided to enter. While we were still looking for a table with an employee, the advertising sign was carried into the restaurant without a word. As soon as we sat down, we noticed that the offer was only valid until 4 p.m. A look at the clock: 4:03 p.m. We asked politely, since we had entered because of the advertising at the entrance. But they remained stubborn - no accommodation, no goodwill. The absolutely grotesque climax came a few minutes later: the waiter came back with a smartphone and showed us the surveillance footage (!) to prove that we had entered the restaurant at 4:01:23 p.m. - 23 seconds after the deadline and therefore too late for the offer. The fact that a restaurant rejects guests in such a pedantic manner instead of showing even a hint of customer friendliness is absolutely unacceptable. Anyone who stops here should be prepared for petty, unfriendly behavior coupled with zero goodwill and a lack of hospitality - I can only STRONGLY advise against it!

The food was overpriced and wasn't all that tasty. It was so standard and the employees are rude.

Ordered Samosa and Chicken Bhuna for takeout. The taste was just ok, and I didn’t find the curry particularly flavorful. This might partly be my fault since I ordered “spicy” and the food was indeed very spicy for me. The samosa was good, and definitely recommend.

The food was terrible and spicy and the service was okay....Not so authentic food compared to other restaurants...I don't recommend it at all. There are much better ones in Cologne.

Nice quiet, authentic restaurant. The food was deliciously seasoned and you could choose the level of spiciness. Unfortunately, the chicken in the dishes was a little dry and the drinks are only available as a small version. Otherwise a solid Indian restaurant.

Great place with great service. There is very good draft beer, tea with honey - for the first time in Germany they brought it :) A very pleasant place, I recommend stopping by.

We ordered briyani but they gave us corriander rice its not even briyani what they sereve in india … food was so awful ! And no outside water is allowed even your own water bottel. Better go to saravana bavan or ganesha restaurant.

The curries in our 'Thalis' tasted all same. Putting some cream to mellow down the spice. Kindly ask your customers how they'd like their food.

Typical Indian atmosphere, good food, nice staff

The main course tasted good, but not outstanding. In contrast to many other Indians, the rice here is not half dried out. Attention: Not every chicken dish here is probably traditionally from the tandoor, as we know it from other Indians. The prices are a little higher than at other good Indian restaurants in Cologne, but still ok.

Would have given 0 if I could, exceptionally unprofessional staff, rude and aggressive behaviour which isn’t what you’d expect in the service industry. Avoid at all costs if you can. There are better Indian restaurants with much better staff and owners.

Highly named, but a total disaster, if you expect anything even remotely hailing of Indian flavours. If you've had a good Currywurst, you know what their curries taste like. Sadly often the case with restaurants on a main street. I'll not be visiting again as there are many better ones for the same prices.

I visited Cologne for business trip and found this gem of a restaurant. Service was really nice and polite and they even offer the Indian salad which I've missed in Germany. The ambiance at the back is also really cosy! Definitely worth the dinner night!

It was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I didn't even place an order because the way they treated and spoke to me was terrible and disrespectful. As an Indian, I have never had such a bad experience in any restaurant in Germany until now. I strongly suggest avoiding this restaurant unless you deliberately want to ruin your evening.

The food was okay, but the attitude of staff is really bad they don't care about you and the service. The worst part was ordering the water which is way expensive than some of the drinks and dishes. I won't recommend it to someone!

Favorite Indian Food! North Indian curries at great prices, now with soup and homemade pasta for lunch. Unbeatable. Recommendation: with special ginger/garlic/corriander/spicy wow!

The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant (especially on the back terrace during a sunny day), and the food is enjoyable. The vegetable samosa, butter chicken, and lentils with curry were highly enjoyed. The sauces are tasty, particularly the mint yogurt. The cheese naan could be improved.

Taste is okayish, Chana Masala was having gravy with Tomato sauce. No complementary Chutney/Pickel which for a comparatively higher priced food. No mouth freshener, they are taking huge money.

Very tasty and varied food. Large selection from vegan to vegetarian and of course also with lots of meat 😁. The portions are more than sufficient. Price performance top. The service is very friendly, but the drinks could be a little quicker. But everything is within reason 😅. We sat in the courtyard and it was nice and quiet. Gladly again....

Service was really bad, and food was ok. They tried to push us to pay by cash. I went there to have a nice evening with my boyfriend, but we ended up with bad feeling. Only good things were they open on mondays and they close pretty late. But in Cologne there are other good north indian restaurants, so I would recommend to go somewhere else, not here.

One of the best indian we know here in Köln. Always great service, they keep in mind your spicy preferences and in spring and summer the interior court is just a pleasure to be in!

Very tasty Indian food. Chicken Biriyani and vegetarian mango curry tasted very good. The mango curry as a vegetarian dish only cost €9 at lunchtime. We are completely satisfied. Small deduction because we couldn't pay with a card but only with cash.

Some of the best food I've had. Atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. If you go with more than 2 people I would make a reservation, seating is limited.

The food was okay, but nothing special. The young men in service were nice, but not super attentive. Empty plates remained e.g. B. at the table for far too long and in order to order drinks, you had to draw attention to yourself several times. Price-performance is mediocre to expensive. The interior also needs a renovation. You can do it, you don't have to. But it is 100% NOT the BEST Indian in all of Cologne!!

This is so far our best choice for an Indian food. It’s cozy and the people are nice. The food is also really good and most importantly they have Bhatura. Although it’s quite expensive for a bread but I couldn’t find anywhere else.

Best. Samosa’s. Ever. When you walk in, you sense it immediately: the interior screams GREAT INDIAN FOOD at you. And they do. The menu is extensive and offers a broad range of appetizers, street food, veggie food and all the usuals. You can share the food as well. We ordered a vegetable Thali (great), a cheese naan (not authentic but really delicious), the samosas (amazing, nothing else to say) and paneer. The TV’s were a bit distracting but we covered this with a one gulp-penalty for every look exchanged with the screen. That made it actually fun!

Overpriced for the quantity and the taste. We order chilli paneer which was very disappointing. It seemed like paneer dipped in tomato sauce. The strange thing is, I could not fnd any single chilli 🌶️. Only good thing we found is the starter "channa chat" . Good refresher.

Lieblingsladen um indisch zu essen. Sie Auswahl ist riesig für Vegetarier, fast schon zu groß. Bisher war alles immer mega lecker, ich denke Tage danach noch dran. Die Ausstattung ist einfach, völlig ok. Im Sommer im Hinterhof zu sitzen ist toll, da man abseits der lauten Straße sitzt, ein absoluter Vorzug zu den anderen Lokalen auf der Aachener.

Das beste indische Essen, welches ich jemals gegessen habe. Super leckere Auswahl und es schmeckt alles frisch.

Wer in seinem Namen mit dem "besten" wirbt, muss auch abliefern. Mein Essen war gut und auch die Schärfe war wie vorher gefragt auf dem Punkt. Um der beste Inder zu sein fehlt aber einiges. Kein Papadam mit Dips, kein Naan, alles hätte man extra bestellen müssen was es sonst bei so gut wie jedem Inder umsonst gibt.

I went there for good, it’s run by second generation who thinks of making the quick bucks and does not care of customers services, they asked me for the order and when they realise I am alone and my bill will not be more than Euro 30 they asked me to get cash from ATM, - Who does that…? So I have written a email to Koln city tax office and also filed a affidavit with my attorney to send it to the consumer court as we don’t need such tax evaders in the city… it will take a months time but this guy will pay the heavy price…
