It was my first time eating Indian food, and I have to say it was delicious. The service was excellent. The decor was lovely, and the atmosphere was very clean. I highly recommend it.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Paneer Lababdar was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, while the Lamb Tandoori was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor both are highly recommended. The service was warm, and the ambiance made the whole dining experience even better. This is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve visited, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Everything is quite good, but not exactly mind-blowing. Okay, just a good Indian restaurant. Nothing more. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, yet confident, which is very pleasant. The portions could be a bit larger – and if you ask for "really spicy," you unfortunately won't get it. The after-dinner cocktails were very good, though, hence the four stars. Like any Indian restaurant, it's well-suited for vegetarians/vegans.

Most authentic food I have had in Germany. Bengali style Mangsho was just awesome, important is they serve goat meat and not lamb. Overall experience was on spot. The chef was very friendly and addressed all our queries and made us feel at home.

The food was simply outstanding. Each dish was crafted with authenticity and care. while the fresh naan was soft and buttery—just the way it should be. Portions were generous, and everything tasted freshly prepared. The service was equally impressive—attentive without being overbearing. The staff were happy to explain dishes and even recommended pairings that elevated the experience. What stood out most was the balance of flavors—spicy yet not overwhelming, fragrant without being heavy. It felt like a true celebration of Indian cuisine. Must must must visit 😇 and you will surely get best food and actual indian test.

The restaurant is well located on Barbarossaplatz. Beautifully decorated, and the outdoor ambiance is also pleasant, considering the busy street. The service is truly outstanding. The waitresses were all very friendly and checked in several times to see if everything was OK. Maybe even 1-2 times too often when three waitresses came one after the other to ask if everything was OK ;) The food was fantastic. We had naan as a starter and two main courses. The taste was simply top-notch! The only downside, unfortunately, is the prices, which are quite steep. The water up front was €8.50, and a small portion of rice for a second helping was €6.50. I can't remember ever paying anything for a small bowl of rice (!) as a second helping at an Indian restaurant. The waitress only asked about the rice in passing when we were almost finished. Overall, though, the delicious experience still outweighs everything :)

Great ambience and top hospitality served with delicious food . The owner was very friendly and had the dish prepared to our taste. I had ordered paneer kadhai which is served with rice as complimentary . Had garlic naan which comes with 3 piece enough for a meal . The portions could have been a bit more for the prices that are charged . Unfortunately my friend who ordered Non vegetarian didn’t had that great experience as me .

The scallops were my favourite. Loved the lamb chops and the Goat which were succulent and so flavourful. The lamb just felt apart in my mouth and I love how it was prepared without any bones. What a beauty of Indian kitchen..

We went there with 5 people and the flair of the restaurant is a weird mix of touristy cheap indian restaurant and expensive fine dining? The decor is fancy (besides the nude/sexual artworks), the location not in the slightest (we sat next to the 5 lane street with all its noise). Staff was friendly. While the food was fine taste wise, we all were suprised on how small the portions where and how expensive it was? We had 3 main dishes and 2 side dishes, each a drink and ended up with 150€ and we all left hungry and went to get something extra somewhere else (and it never happened to me before to leave a restaurant hungry when i ordered a main dish). A friend of mine and i ordered the butter chicken, we both got a small bowl with 4-5 chicken nugget sized chicken pieces and some sauce, and one small bowl of rice. Since we both had rice with our meal we asked where the second one is and we got a second. Later on the receipt we saw that both rice portions where 7€ extra, for a small plain bowl of rice? When we asked why we paid extra for the rice despite it being included in our main dish we were told that the first bowl was already two portions of rice put together and the second bowl were 2 extra, thus we had to pay for 2 portions extra. I had 4-5 tablespoons full of rice??? Honestly the whole experience felt like a tourist trap. The food was good, but not >30€ good for such a small portion of food. I dont understand the other good reviews here, for the same price i usually dine fancy and leave with an empty stomach and dont have the feeling i was billed stuff randomly i didnt order. Definitely dont recommend

Amazing service and amazing food. We didn't speak German but that was no problem at all. Both the drinks and the food were amazing, I especially enjoyed the chicken. If you're nearby and in Cologne I would 100% recommend this place. If I ever go back to Cologne I will make sure to go here again and give them another well deserved tip!

We don't normally write reviews, but last night at Kamasutra was so phenomenal that we simply had to share it. We've never experienced such friendly interaction and excellent service. When we couldn't decide on a wine, we were promptly given three different varieties to sample. All three waiters were extremely competent, very accommodating, and incredibly kind. The food was, as expected, delicious, and we savored every bite, and we were given a digestive to finish it off. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant! If we're in town again, we'll definitely be back.

Approaching perfection in terms of Indian food

When a crisp spiciness enhances the flavor diversity of a dish and highlights the freshness and quality of the ingredients, Indian food is simply fantastic. It worked perfectly here. Added to that was the very pleasant and attentive, yet never intrusive, service. There's a beautifully set table, comfortable cutlery (not the cheap tin), and a pleasantly sturdy cloth napkin. The visit was a complete success.

Everything is fresh, lovingly prepared, and full of authentic flavors. Here you can see that cooking is an art and a passion. I was completely thrilled. Yesterday we went to Kamasutra for dinner on the recommendation of a colleague. The food was spectacular! I ordered the Butter Chicken and it was the best I've had in the city. Plus, the service and attention were excellent! I highly recommend this place for Indian food lovers.

Although food was really really exceptional, i was given a menu (while being seated indoors) whose pricing was ~30% more expensive vs. Online Kamasutra website pricing. I am not sure why this occurred, but now that I'm back home and reviewing more on their website, i realize I've been over charged probably for the indoor seating. The good food, now being difficult to digest. Not sure if this is a legit pricing approach, but I'm a bit disappointed with this.

I've never eaten such a delicious Tikka Marsala. The meat was simply unbelievably tender. Absolutely everything in the food was incredibly good. The service was also beyond reproach. I would definitely come back.

Excellent food. I especially like the classic butter chicken. Portion size: The serving isn't lavish. It was enough for me. Indoor dining: The decor is nice, with tablecloths and glittery napkin holders. Outdoor dining: Close to busy streets, but set back a bit, making it comfortable to sit.

Very authentic taste and there is no doubt. We tried starters, lassi and main course, specifically vegetarian options. Taste wise it is good but all the dishes are expensive and the issue is not the price, but the quantity. Very small portion you will get even if you are ordering chat or some kind of starter. The service is always excellent, and the food is delicious. Unfortunately, the chicken wasn't as good this time, and I find a main course with only three pieces of meat quite expensive. The rice that was served afterward also cost €6.50. That's a shame. But I'd love to come back sometime!

A top choice Indian restaurant. Best Palak Paneer ever - made with baby spinach and homemade paneer, wonderfully spiced without being spicy hot. You pay a little more but it’s worth it. Friendly service. We’ll be back (perhaps even tomorrow!)

I highly recommend trying their special dish, Soya Chilli, which we always order. My husband especially loves it, and I can bet that no one in Europe can make it better than here. One of the authentic Indian food I had in Germany. The service was really great. Gurpreet was an amazing host and he helps us to find the right menu.Highly recommended for anyone looking to have an authentic Indian dining experience. Getting parking in that location is bit hectic better choose any Parkhouse nearby and go by walk.

The waitress is extremely attentive and recommends the dishes that he loves. The menu includes all well-known Indian dishes and additional house specialties. Regardless of the specified level of spiciness, all dishes can be ordered as desired. Prices are high but good ingredients are used. Only when it comes to desserts does the portion size not match the price.

The food was okay, but not as exceptional as we expected based on the great reviews. Unfortunately, the papadam didn't have any accompanying dips like we know from other Indian restaurants. Main course plus a side dish for around €34/head, together with a hot tea and a bottle of sparkling water (shockingly at €8.20). Internally colored and furnished with gems reminiscent of India. Many vegetarian dishes available!

Very very tasty, well seasoned Indian food. Excellent service. And you can even have it delivered, which is not the same, but is a comfort to the palate in times of need.

Of course it's great when you have reserved a table a week in advance and then you find yourself in front of a closed restaurant on time for your appointment because it is closed today "due to cleaning measures". How about canceling? Absolute impudence!

I can't believe it took me this long to finally dine at Kamasutra. The decor as you walk in is very tasteful with tables adorned with white linen. The service was very friendly, and we connected on various topics about life, education and attaining goals. We got there for lunch and ordered a huge spread - we had lassis (mango and pineapple), chicken malai for appetizer, butter chicken, chicken biryani and garlic naan. We finished with a teapot of masala chai. I had just come back from a business trip from India, and I would say this rivaled if not was better - the meat was so tender and juicy, and the butter chicken curry and chicken malai were the best I ever had. We can't wait to go back, especially since the chef said he will share his recommendations the next time.

We are actually really excited about the food. We have been there several times and order there almost weekly. Today we also had something from Kamasutra delivered to us via Wolt. The food had nothing to do with the quality we are used to from Kamasutra! When you spend almost €19.00 on butter chicken, you expect the same taste. Unfortunately this time it was completely different than usual - bland and tasteless. The Peneer Tikka was also not good. Little taste and striking spiciness. Even the mango chutney was different than usual... unfortunately disappointing that the quality varies so much.
