Nice food and very humble owner. They served us with best of there capability. We went there a huge international group. Staff was on their feet for each and every minute of our lunch duration. They even customise food as per the taste of you make reservation in advance. Amazing !

We always take advantage of visits to big cities to eat Indian food. This is one of the best Indian restaurants we've ever been to! The food was high-quality, and the spices were an explosion of flavor, perfectly balanced. The higher prices (compared to other cities or even Indian restaurants in Cologne) are absolutely justified and worth it. We also ordered appetizers, desserts, and several drinks. This will be our go-to place when we come back to Cologne. The service was incredibly warm and attentive.

The ambiance at Kamasutra is always very pleasant. The tables are individually and lovingly decorated. The upscale service is friendly, attentive, and very considerate regarding dietary restrictions. I feel comfortable on every visit and enjoy the delicious, authentic food at this restaurant.

Pros: 1. Very good taste 2. Good hospitality 3. Good atmosphere. Needs improvement: 1. Limited vegetarian dishes 2. Dishes and corresponding rice portions are served with less quantities so you might need to order again. 3. Almost double price than other indian restaurants

This is a fantastic restaurant. The welcome is very warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful dinner here in a relaxed atmosphere. The food is high quality, and they clearly indicate what to do or not do with certain combinations or regarding the spiciness of certain dishes. The staff responds flawlessly and ensures we made the right choices. They are incredibly hospitable. It was a wonderful culinary experience.

For me, the best Indian restaurant in Germany. I've been to Kamasutra in Cologne twice now – and each time it was a truly memorable experience. The service is warm, attentive, and makes you feel instantly welcome. The food is superb: fresh, homemade, and prepared with great attention to detail. The spices are intense, yet perfectly balanced – simply harmonious. The only thing that doesn't quite live up to the hype is the ambiance. The decor is clearly showing its age and in some places feels more functional than inviting. A renovation is long overdue – it's a shame that the fantastic culinary experience isn't visually enhanced. However, those who aren't put off by this will be more than rewarded. Also worth mentioning: a surprisingly large selection of gins, almost like a collection. Even though it doesn't quite have a bar-like atmosphere, it's a charming touch. In short: Highly recommended – I'll definitely be back.

We discovered this restaurant 10 years ago and have enjoyed coming back ever since, even though we have to travel a long way. The Indian dishes are excellent, the service is extremely friendly and accommodating, and even when we had our grandchildren with us, they did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. The food was nice and tasty. The staff were truly hospitable and amazin. The presentation of the food was new to me but really nice. It's a pleasant surprise for how small portions of various dishes can be so fulfilling and satisfying at the same time. The prices are quite reasonable therefore, the value for money is absolutely great.

Food is not really bad but the city offers some real good Indian restaurants for half the price here. And their website says it might be needing a reservation but it never gets crowded. I would seriously recommend other places. This place and the food definitely isn't worth for the prices they offer.

It was my first time eating Indian food, and I have to say it was delicious. The service was excellent. The decor was lovely, and the atmosphere was very clean. I highly recommend it.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Paneer Lababdar was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, while the Lamb Tandoori was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor both are highly recommended. The service was warm, and the ambiance made the whole dining experience even better. This is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve visited, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Everything is quite good, but not exactly mind-blowing. Okay, just a good Indian restaurant. Nothing more. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, yet confident, which is very pleasant. The portions could be a bit larger – and if you ask for "really spicy," you unfortunately won't get it. The after-dinner cocktails were very good, though, hence the four stars. Like any Indian restaurant, it's well-suited for vegetarians/vegans.

Most authentic food I have had in Germany. Bengali style Mangsho was just awesome, important is they serve goat meat and not lamb. Overall experience was on spot. The chef was very friendly and addressed all our queries and made us feel at home.

Portions were generous, and everything tasted freshly prepared. The service was equally impressive—attentive without being overbearing. The staff were happy to explain dishes and even recommended pairings that elevated the experience. What stood out most was the balance of flavors—spicy yet not overwhelming, fragrant without being heavy. It felt like a true celebration of Indian cuisine. Must must must visit 😇 and you will surely get best food and actual indian test.

The restaurant is well located on Barbarossaplatz. Beautifully decorated, and the outdoor ambiance is also pleasant, considering the busy street. The service is truly outstanding. The waitresses were all very friendly and checked in several times to see if everything was OK. Maybe even 1-2 times too often when three waitresses came one after the other to ask if everything was OK ;) The food was fantastic. We had naan as a starter and two main courses. The taste was simply top-notch! The only downside, unfortunately, is the prices, which are quite steep. The water up front was €8.50, and a small portion of rice for a second helping was €6.50. I can't remember ever paying anything for a small bowl of rice (!) as a second helping at an Indian restaurant. The waitress only asked about the rice in passing when we were almost finished. Overall, though, the delicious experience still outweighs everything :)

Great ambience and top hospitality served with delicious food . The owner was very friendly and had the dish prepared to our taste. I had ordered paneer kadhai which is served with rice as complimentary . Had garlic naan which comes with 3 piece enough for a meal . The portions could have been a bit more for the prices that are charged . Unfortunately my friend who ordered Non vegetarian didn’t had that great experience as me .

The scallops were my favourite. Loved the lamb chops and the Goat which were succulent and so flavourful. The lamb just felt apart in my mouth and I love how it was prepared without any bones. What a beauty of Indian kitchen..

Very tasty Indian restaurant, great menu, and the spices are different from other Indian restaurants I've known. Prices are higher than average, but justified by the unique style of the food. The service was very pleasant and attentive. We felt comfortable.

We went there with 5 people and the flair of the restaurant is a weird mix of touristy cheap indian restaurant and expensive fine dining? The decor is fancy (besides the nude/sexual artworks), the location not in the slightest (we sat next to the 5 lane street with all its noise). Staff was friendly. While the food was fine taste wise, we all were suprised on how small the portions where and how expensive it was? We had 3 main dishes and 2 side dishes, each a drink and ended up with 150€ and we all left hungry and went to get something extra somewhere else (and it never happened to me before to leave a restaurant hungry when i ordered a main dish). A friend of mine and i ordered the butter chicken, we both got a small bowl with 4-5 chicken nugget sized chicken pieces and some sauce, and one small bowl of rice. Since we both had rice with our meal we asked where the second one is and we got a second. Later on the receipt we saw that both rice portions where 7€ extra, for a small plain bowl of rice? When we asked why we paid extra for the rice despite it being included in our main dish we were told that the first bowl was already two portions of rice put together and the second bowl were 2 extra, thus we had to pay for 2 portions extra. I had 4-5 tablespoons full of rice??? Honestly the whole experience felt like a tourist trap. The food was good, but not >30€ good for such a small portion of food. I dont understand the other good reviews here, for the same price i usually dine fancy and leave with an empty stomach and dont have the feeling i was billed stuff randomly i didnt order. Definitely dont recommend

Amazing service and amazing food. We didn't speak German but that was no problem at all. Both the drinks and the food were amazing, I especially enjoyed the chicken. If you're nearby and in Cologne I would 100% recommend this place. If I ever go back to Cologne I will make sure to go here again and give them another well deserved tip!

We don't normally write reviews, but last night at Kamasutra was so phenomenal that we simply had to share it. We've never experienced such friendly interaction and excellent service. When we couldn't decide on a wine, we were promptly given three different varieties to sample. All three waiters were extremely competent, very accommodating, and incredibly kind. The food was, as expected, delicious, and we savored every bite, and we were given a digestive to finish it off. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant! If we're in town again, we'll definitely be back.

When a crisp spiciness enhances the flavor diversity of a dish and highlights the freshness and quality of the ingredients, Indian food is simply fantastic. It worked perfectly here. Added to that was the very pleasant and attentive, yet never intrusive, service. There's a beautifully set table, comfortable cutlery (not the cheap tin), and a pleasantly sturdy cloth napkin. The visit was a complete success.

Every dish was an explosion of flavor: perfect naan, super-tender butter chicken, and the cashew sauce was probably the best I've ever eaten. Even the Mango Lazzi – simply a taste orgasm. Everything is fresh, lovingly prepared, and full of authentic flavors. Here you can see that cooking is an art and a passion. I was completely thrilled. Although food was really really exceptional, i was given a menu (while being seated indoors) whose pricing was ~30% more expensive vs. Online Kamasutra website pricing. I am not sure why this occurred, but now that I'm back home and reviewing more on their website, i realize I've been over charged probably for the indoor seating. The good food, now being difficult to digest. Not sure if this is a legit pricing approach, but I'm a bit disappointed with this.

Yesterday we went to Kamasutra for dinner on the recommendation of a colleague. The food was spectacular! I ordered the Butter Chicken and it was the best I've had in the city. Plus, the service and attention were excellent! I highly recommend this place for Indian food lovers.

I've never eaten such a delicious Tikka Marsala. The meat was simply unbelievably tender. Absolutely everything in the food was incredibly good. The service was also beyond reproach. I would definitely come back.

Excellent food. I especially like the classic butter chicken. Portion size: The serving isn't lavish. It was enough for me. Indoor dining: The decor is nice, with tablecloths and glittery napkin holders. Outdoor dining: Close to busy streets, but set back a bit, making it comfortable to sit.

Very authentic taste and there is no doubt. We tried starters, lassi and main course, specifically vegetarian options. Taste wise it is good but all the dishes are expensive and the issue is not the price, but the quantity. Very small portion you will get even if you are ordering chat or some kind of starter. Yes, I enjoyed it! I received good advice and very courteous service. The table was beautifully set, and the food tasted delicious. At my express request, they omitted the coriander ;) I would visit the restaurant again if I were in the area!

The service is always excellent, and the food is delicious. Unfortunately, the chicken wasn't as good this time, and I find a main course with only three pieces of meat quite expensive. The rice that was served afterward also cost €6.50. That's a shame. But I'd love to come back sometime!

A top choice Indian restaurant. Best Palak Paneer ever - made with baby spinach and homemade paneer, wonderfully spiced without being spicy hot. You pay a little more but it’s worth it. Friendly service. We’ll be back (perhaps even tomorrow!)
