Taj Mahal Masala in Köln

Ein kleiner Diamant für Indienliebhaber! In dem Restaurant hat man das Gefühl als hätte man eine kleine Reise nach Indien gemacht, alles ist sehr liebevoll und detailliert angerichtet, das Fleisch ist soooo zart, die Soßen sind ein Traum und mein absoluter Liebling ist der Chai im Winter und der Mango Lassi im Sommer. Leise Musik im Hintergrund, perfekt für ein Date oder auch zu mehreren, man kann sich gut unterhalten und die Kellner sind sehr nett und vorallem schnell. Alles ist sehr traditionell eingerichtet und sauber! Habe diesen Laden vor 5 Monaten entdeckt, und ist einer meiner Lieblingsläden geworden. Das beste ist das es Samstags von 14-17:30 Uhr und Sonntags von 12-16 Uhr „all you can eat“ gibt für 13,90€ 🤫🤫.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort und sind wirklich positiv überrascht. Das Essen war geschmacklich top, frisch zubereitet und sehr gut gewürzt. Der Chef war freundlich und hat sich Zeit für seine Gäste genommen. Auch der Service war aufmerksam und herzlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Besuch – wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Sehr leckeres indisches Essen zu wirklich fairen Preisen. An Wochenenden gibt es mittags zusätzlich ein All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet für € 13,90 inkl. einem Softdrink. Allerdings kann ich nicht beurteilen wie authentisch das Essen tatsächlich ist. Freundlicher Service und das Restaurant ist gemütlich und alles sah sehr sauber und ordentlich aus. Kommen bestimmt noch einmal wieder.

All you can eat-Buffet für 13,90 € inkl. Softdrink. Für den Preis kann man eigentlich nichts Vernünftiges erwarten. Dachte ich. Und wurde extrem positiv überrascht. Die Auswahl war durchaus üppig, und geschmeckt hat es hervorragend. Ich gehe jetzt regelmäßig da hin. Hoffentlich hält sich das Restaurant länger, die Lage in Höhenberg ist eher ungünstig. Kritikpunkt: Nur Barzahlung möglich.

Ein ganz tolles Restaurant, bei dem es wirklich nichts zu bemängeln gibt! Es gibt eine große Speisekarte, die insbesondere auch viele vegetarische und vegane Gerichte enthält. Alle Gerichte, die wir bestellt haben, haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Auch im Hinblick auf die ordentlich großen Portionsgrößen waren wir sehr zufrieden. Nicht zuletzt möchte ich auch noch den tollen Service loben- Wir sind den gesamten Abend über stets schnell und freundlich bedient worden. Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Abend und wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Super lecker und tolles Personal

Ich habe auf Empfehlung einer Freundin beim Taj Mahal Masala Essen bestellt. Von der Bestellung bis zur Lieferung vergingen keine 20 Minuten. Ich hatte das Butter Chicken und dazu das Knoblauch Naan. Beides hat mich restlos begeistert und ich werde in Zukunft öfter dort bestellen und essen gehen.

Wir hatten einen Gutschein von Groupon und haben noch Extras dazu bestellt. Das Naan Brot war bus jetzt das beste was ich beim indern bekommen habe. Chef sehr freundlich. Authentischer Küche, sauber, gut gewürzt. Nur durch Groupon sind wir dort gelandet, sonst hätten wir das Restaurant nicht gefunden. Sind froh und gehen wieder dort hin. Preisleistung ist wirklich passend.

Das Essen ist immer sehr lecker. Es gibt viele vegane und vegetarische Optionen, was ich richtig gut finde. Besonders mag ich die vegetarischen Gerichte mit Okra und die Käse-Biryani-Gerichte. Die Preise sind fair und die Portionen groß. Das Personal ist super freundlich und spricht Deutsch und Englisch, man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Ich gehe gerne hierher, vor allem wenn ich internationale Besucher dabei habe – bisher waren alle zufrieden. Absolute Empfehlung! 👍

Nettes, sauberes Restaurant mit edlem Interieur. Das Essen ist in allen Facetten top. Großzügig portioniert und ebenfalls nicht an Fleisch, Gemüse, etc. gespart. Schneller und freundlicher Service, Preise einwandfrei.

Das Essen ist wirklich gut. Leider nicht so gut besucht. Dementsprechend ist der Inhaber auch etwas unter Druck wenn viele Gäste auf einmal kommen. So ist dann leider der Service etwas dürftig. Trotzdem komme ich hier wieder hin. Zu der Speisekarte muss man sagen dass diese manche Grammatik- und Rechtschreibfehler enthält. Aber nicht weiter Störend (einfach als Hinweis für den Inhaber). Das Ambiente ist neutral, indischer flair. Fer Boden leider nicht mit Teppich belegt, was dazu führt dass es dort recht laut und Hallig ist. Die Stühle machen unangenehm laute Geräusche wenn die Gäste sitzend hin und her rücken. Mit etwas Liebe kann man tatsächlich dieses Restaurant zu einem Erlebnis machen.

Wir haben ein indisches Restaurant in Kalk bei Köln besucht und waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Wir bestellten Paneer Chilli Masala, Paneer Bhajiya und Mango Lassi. Das Mango Lassi war wirklich lecker, und auch das Hauptgericht war schmackhaft und gut zubereitet. Die Portionen waren im Allgemeinen großzügig, obwohl die Paneer Bhajiya etwas klein geraten waren 😜. Insgesamt war das Essen gut und das Restaurant einen Besuch wert. P.S.: Es war der Geburtstag meiner Frau, und es wurde ein Geburtstagslied gespielt, sogar in unserer Sprache. Das hat das Abendessen und den ganzen Abend zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Vielen Dank!

Sehr sehr lecker und top Bedienung

Sehr guter Laden. Das Garlic Naan mit Joghurt-Minz Dip ist sehr lecker. Essen wird schön angerichtet zum selbst schöpfen an den Tisch gebracht und warmgehalten. Service ist sehr gut, freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Sehr lecker, gute Sitzmöglichkeiten – alles perfekt! Wir hatten das Butter Chicken mit Garlic Naan, es war richtig lecker und absolut weiterzuempfehlen. Auch der Chai war sehr gut und hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr nett und haben uns schnell sowie freundlich bedient.

We had butter chicken, lamb briyani, and vegetable samosas. Very good quality, very tasty, very clean, and very comfortable.

After searching for delicious, affordable Indian cuisine in the Cologne area for many years, we were lucky enough to stumble upon Taj Mahal Masala. Since then, we've been going there regularly, enjoying the ambiance and being grateful for the friendliness and warmth of the atmosphere. A true insider tip, in our opinion, and a gem of Indian cuisine!

We ordered two vegetarian meals from here tonight, and they were absolutely delicious! When I tried to call and ask how long the delivery would take, no one answered at first (probably because it was Friday evening), but they called me back within seconds! I will definitely order from here again!

We were passing through Cologne and ate here. I had the chicken curry and my husband had something else, spicier (I forget the name). Both were delicious and super fresh. The service was very friendly, and the drinks came just as quickly. Everything was clean and very friendly. We'd be happy to go back.

Very tasty and fresh! The mint sauce is delicious, just like everything else I've tried so far! King prawns with mint sauce!! I'll be ordering a few more to take home soon, as the atmosphere is cozy and pleasant. The service and waitresses were excellent! Nice owner and good food; I'll be back. We had two meals and a starter with Coke. It was around €50, and that's absolutely fine considering the quality. 👌

We're always given a very warm welcome here. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. Some dishes could be more spicy, especially compared to other Indian restaurants. The "green yogurt" personally tastes very artificial, and I'd like to see an alternative. There's a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. The menu is truly varied and the prices are reasonable. There are always free tables. In fact, it would be nice if there were more customers.

The taste of the food is okay. Nothing extraordinary, but good. The prices are also okay for the portion size. However, the service can be improved. We were the only guests in the restaurant, but we were neither asked if we would like any drinks nor was the table cleared in between.

What is particularly noteworthy is the excellent price-performance ratio: despite general price increases, the costs here have remained stable, without sacrificing quality or portion size. The ambience is stylish and cozy, so you immediately feel at home. An all-round perfect restaurant experience that I can fully recommend. The best Indian food I have ever eaten in an Indian restaurant

I have ordered from this Indian restaurant many times and now it is definitely the last time. The last few orders have always had very bad food delivered. Most of the time everything was swimming in a thick layer of yellow fat. No apology or restitution was ever made. This time I waited a few months and ordered sour-sweet Chinese food. I wonder if I can get a fl. When I poured vinegar into the food, the whole thing was inedible and I've had enough now

Its very clean restaurant. The staff very nice. The food was so incredibly good, we had 2 different naans, chicken curry with rice, chicken mutan saag, achar and fries. It really was so so good, we had to take the leftovers with us. Really only recommended. When we are back in Cologne we will come back.

Had dinner there today and I have to say it was very, very tasty! I went there after work because I felt like Indian food. At first I felt out of place because I entered the store wearing shorts and a T-shirt and my outfit didn't fit the atmosphere at all, but I was greeted by a young woman Waitress welcomed us very kindly. I ordered butter chicken with rice and garlic naan bread. The chicken in the sauce was really tender in combination with the rice and garlic bread! The service was friendly and on point from start to finish. I would love to come back here again!

We ate there for the third time yesterday. It won't be the last time! The food is very good and the service is friendly. I particularly liked the chicken soup. The restaurant is a real asset to Höhenberg.

Really extraordinarily delicious food. Personally, I have never had better Indian food. The food (sauce) is also served in very stylish bowls that are kept warm with a flame. I've been there 3 times so far and tried different dishes and each time I thought to myself: Wow! I can't do that myself at home. I cook as a hobby and many visits to restaurants are a disappointment because I can do it better myself. That's not the case here, and that's exactly why I go out to eat - to pamper my taste buds. The large red sign of the Taj Mahal shines out rather inconspicuously on the side of the road or at the intersection. When you move into the restaurant, it's like a coherent world. Nice ambience, stylish and subtly colorful accessories, but everything is very harmonious! The music is of course Indian and as far as I've seen the employees are all Indian - and very, very polite and friendly! I felt very comfortable there. I was there once with my mother and she was simply thrilled too. The price is also rather unusually low for the quality. 13-17 euros, when it tastes like it costs 50. Please go take a picture and spoil your taste buds.

Very pregnant women are rudely denied the opportunity to empty their bladders. That's not how I get any new guests.

I went to this place for a Lunch on 3rd May 2024 we ordered Mutton biryani, Samosa, Samosa chat, Veg Manchurian, Chicken curry and Non vegetarian platter although the presentation was good and food service was also pretty fair since we did not wait too long for our food. The food was stale, bland and not at all Authentic at all. I am indian from New delhi i will say our cultural food is really amazing and delicious to all the people who are from my country and who want want to try our cuisine please do not visit this restaurant. I would request the owner to change their cooking style we can cook much better food at our home. Presentation is not everything taste matter people are paying and not getting its worth at all.

This restaurant is an incredible addition to Höhenberg and a welcome change from all the fast food options nearby. The food is simply great, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and the staff are incredibly nice! A very clear recommendation!!

Unfortunately, the curry doesn't taste very spicy and the chicken is tough... At the same time, the rice tastes like cigarette smoke and the naan is dry :// It leaves a very strange taste on the tongue. I don't often write reviews and rarely anything bad, but I'm very disappointed.

Seems to have the same supplier as 460km away from my house. The curry tastes completely identical. Also the rice. I can only speak for the curry that was delivered as I wasn't in the restaurant. It was tasty nonetheless. I just didn't think I'd get exactly the same thing. 🤣

Kann leider die außerordentlich guten Bewertungen nicht ganz verstehen. Es gibt hier solides indisches Essen, was aber keinesfalls außergewöhnlich ist. Also kann man mal machen.. Gibt aber deutlich bessere in Köln. Positiv zu erwähnen sind die Preise.. haben mit 2 Leuten, Vorspeise und 4 Getränken unter 50 Euro bezahlt

Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und toll präsentiert. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren mittags zum Essen dort und haben uns etwas gewundert, dass nur ein anderer Tisch besetzt war. Bei dem Essen völlig unverständlich.

Habe mit meinem Kollegen einmal Alu Matar (Vegetarisch) und einmal Chana Masala (Vegan) gegessen. Beide Gerichte waren einfach nur lecker, konnten sowohl beim Alu Matar, sowie beim Chana Masala nichts aussetzen. Im Gegenteil! Es schmeckte sehr natürlich und einfach lecker. :) Das Butter Naan war dazu ein absoluter Traum! :) Schön das dieses Resturant in Köln Kalk existiert. Werden da definitiv nochmal hingehen!

Wir haben hier sehr lecker zu einem Geburtstag gegessen, mit den Gerichten waren alle sehr zufrieden. Der Service war gut, hätte zwischendurch etwas aufmerksamer sein können. Der Espresso nach dem Essen war leider kein Espresso und auch für einen starken Kaffee war er leider richtig schlecht.

Laden war kaum besucht, da haben die Leute wohl viel Zeit, eigene Fünfsternebewertungen zu schreiben. Unserer Gruppe hat es dort nicht gefallen, unfreundlich, unflexibel beim Naan, für die Leistung zu teuer, Toilette eher unschön, Essen eher wenig, ... das geht woanders deutlich besser.
