Haweli in Köln

Well, I didn't think the butter chicken was good at all. It was practically unseasoned, as you'd expect from Indian cuisine, and tasted more like a watery tomato sauce with a hint of spice. Either I was just incredibly unlucky with my portion, or the people who rated it as good have simply never had a truly good Indian meal. I wouldn't give the restaurant another chance because of this experience.

Simply fantastic! We were absolutely thrilled! Super delicious food, really friendly service – you immediately feel at home. The portions are generous, the quality is good, and the prices are really fair. Absolutely recommend it!

All the staff are always in such a good mood and incredibly friendly! Ordering by phone always goes smoothly. We even had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding there with 20 people in February, and all of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming. The food is incredibly delicious, and the spice levels indicated are always perfectly matched. Keep up the good work – a truly culinary enrichment for Zollstock!

EDIT 2: Sorry, but my reading comprehension isn't so good. EDIT 1: Thanks for your reply. Don't worry, the restaurants mentioned also serve North Indian dishes. No one has to eat at Haweli. I have to admit, your Google photos look better, too; maybe they just serve a reduced quality at Wolt? I also highly recommend Haldi Spoon in Mühlheim. And hey, if you look at the photo of Thali or have ever eaten at Royal Punjabi, you'll just have to agree with me. I bet none of you in the kitchen eat your repeatedly fried onion bahjis—they were just terrible! My butter chicken was far too uninterestingly seasoned and at least didn't have much butter in it. My husband's tikka sauce was about half a day too old, and the meat wasn't marinated long enough. The onion bahjis, uh, weren't my cup of tea: too dense, so the chickpea flour didn't cook properly. The best were the mixed pickles from Patak's, which we still had in a jar in the fridge. Sad but true. I'll repeat myself: you have to order from Saravana Bhavana or Chennai Chef in Nippes (govardhan if you're full-on). Any other Indian food doesn't make sense in Cologne. Plus points: large portions, perfectly fine rice (but without spices). The kulfi was also good - though I don't have much expertise in that area. I was dazzled by the Wolt offer :-(

I had the butter chicken with rice and naan bread. It was incredibly delicious, and the meat was tender as butter. Unfortunately, there were only two thin naan breads available, which is quite steep for an extra €3. I would definitely order again.

We discovered Haweli while looking for a restaurant in the area. The good reviews were ultimately the deciding factor. After our first visit, we immediately became repeat customers and enjoy coming back whenever it's convenient and we're in the area, so we've tried a variety of dishes. So far, we've enjoyed everything, although we've become a little more cautious with the very spicy dishes (three chilies). The staff warns you before ordering that the food is spicy, but if you don't want to listen, you'll just have to eat it. The papadum with tamarind sauce, which is served beforehand, is also delicious. Overall, Haweli is a recommendation, and we'd be happy to return.

We love Haweli's curry and we order it for delivery frequently. Unfortunately, it's been quite common for the food to arrive partially or even completely squashed, with the delivery person already leaking into their bag. We've already pointed out to the restaurant that the food needs to be packaged more sturdily. Unfortunately, nothing has changed so far. It's a real shame about the amazing food!

By chance, I just ordered a pickup order through Wolt, as I was just around the corner. The specified preparation time was perfectly adhered to. Furthermore, the food was well packaged and served piping hot. I received a friendly greeting upon pickup. And, in the end, everything (butter chicken and naan) tasted absolutely amazing.

5 Stars – Authentic Indian cuisine with excellent service I went to Haweli in Cologne- Zollstock for lunch today and I was completely impressed. For €13.90 I received a delicious Chicken Jalfrezi, served with fragrant saffron basmati rice and freshly baked naan. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned, the curry sauce was balanced and spicy with fresh peppers and coriander – a real treat. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. I was warmly greeted as soon as I entered and felt well looked after throughout my entire stay. The ambience is cozy and tastefully designed, with loving details that create a pleasant atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent price-performance ratio. The portion was generous and the quality of the food left nothing to be desired. I can fully recommend Haweli and am already looking forward to my next visit. A real highlight for lovers of Indian cuisine in Cologne!  Very good food! Service top! I've been to many, but none of them have prepared the food in such an unseasoned and bland manner - and various coordinated spices are actually a trademark of delicious Indian dishes, right? The rice and the meat were dry and hard. One employee has a pretty high-strung tone. Overall, it had nothing to do with Indian food. No recommendation
