Haweli in Köln

Ich habe Haweli vor ein paar Tagen besucht und muss sagen, dass das Essen sehr lecker war. Der Service war sehr gut und freundlich, die Atmosphäre entspannt. Fragen über verschiedene Essensoptionen wurden mir verständlich beantwortet. Auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.

Immer lecker egal was ich bestelle, kann ich nur empfehlen.

Ich habe online bei Haweli bestellt und bin rundum begeistert. Das Essen war frisch, sehr lecker und kam gut verpackt sowie noch warm an. Die Lieferung war pünktlich und der gesamte Service war hervorragend. Für mich ist Haweli eines der besten indischen Restaurants in Köln. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder bestellen. Eines der schlechtesten Biryanis, die ich je gegessen habe. Es gab zwar Reis mit Öl, aber das war kein Biryani. Nur Öl und Reis. Absolut furchtbar, geht da bloß nicht hin!

Wir haben lange nach unserem liebsten indischen Restaurant in Köln gesucht. Hier haben wir es endlich gefunden 😍 Ich habe hier das Palak mit Impossible Chicken, das Butter Chicken in vegan und Tikka mit Paneer probiert. Alles war wirklich unglaublich lecker, sodass ich bei jedem Bissen wieder seufzen musste. Der Kellner war so nett und hat keine Mühen gescheut Essen auch nach unserem Belieben anzupassen - sogar mit eigenen Vorschlägen! Draußen im Hinterhof sitzt man auch echt schön. Wir kommen wieder!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolut empfehlenswert! Das Essen ist jedes Mal unglaublich lecker, frisch und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Man merkt sofort, dass hier Wert auf Qualität und Geschmack gelegt wird. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das tolle Team und den Chef -alle sind unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und aufmerksam. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und bestens aufgehoben. Wir kommen immer wieder sehr gerne hierher und können dieses Restaurant jedem empfehlen, der authentisches, köstliches indisches Essen und eine familiäre Atmosphäre genießen möchte. Bestes indisches Restaurant in Köln und Umgebung!

Ich bin sehr enttäuscht. Beim Bestellen wird das Butter Chicken auf dem Bild zusammen mit Reis dargestellt. Trotzdem muss man den Reis zusätzlich auswählen, sonst erhält man das Gericht ohne Reis. Das ist irreführend. Wenn Reis keine Standardbeilage ist, warum wird er dann auf dem Produktbild gezeigt? Das Brot ist ebenfalls eine Beilage und wird auf dem Bild schließlich auch nicht angezeigt. Wer so wie ich schnell bestellt und den Bestellvorgang abschließt, tappt leicht in diese Falle. Davon profitiert am Ende nur der Laden, weil ein Butter Chicken ohne Reis verschickt wird. Hinzu kommt, dass die Verpackung bei 27 °C Außentemperatur und dem heißen Essen völlig ungeeignet war. Die Pappverpackung wurde durchweicht, ist aufgeweicht und das gesamte Butter Chicken ist ausgelaufen. Das war sehr ärgerlich und entspricht nicht dem, was ich von einem Restaurant erwarte.

Sehr lecker und sehr freundlich

Das war das schlechteste Essen, das ich je gegessen habe. Der Paneer war steinhart und gummiartig. Ich glaube, das Essen war auch noch altbacken. Wirklich widerlich, dieser Laden muss so schnell wie möglich geschlossen werden.

Einfach ein sehr sehr gutes Essen. Selten so gut indisch gegessen! Riesige Portionen.

Die Thekenkraft Rajif ist ein sehr sympathischer junger Mann der weiß wie man mit Gästen umgeht, fachlich und ein gelernter Gastronom. Das Team schafft es aus einem Restaurant ein Zuhause zu machen, wo man gerne seine Freizeit verbringt.

Für mich persönlich klar das beste indische Restaurant in ganz Köln! Ich habe vor ein paar Jahren beruflich Lahore in Pakistan besucht und dort ein Biryani gegessen, das exakt so geschmeckt hat wie bei Haweli in Köln. Sehr authentische Gerichte! Wer freundlich nachfragt, bekommt auch alles in original indischer Schärfe. Immer freundliches Personal!

Ich habe schon in vielen indischen Restaurants in Köln gegessen, aber der Geschmack hier ist einfach fantastisch. Ich habe hier Malai Kofta und Shahi Paneer gegessen. Ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen, das einmal zu probieren.

Das Essen ist sehr sehr gut. Wir waren schon in vielen indischen Restaurants, aber nirgends war es so gut, wie im Haweli. Der Chef und das gesamte Team ist mega nett und erfüllt auch gerne Sonderwünsche. Wenn das Wetter schön ist, kann man super entspannt auf der Terrasse sitzen & essen. Das Butter Chicken hat schon Suchtfaktor. Alles sehr empfehlenswert.

Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit viel Liebe gekocht wird. Auch der Service war einfach top: freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr herzlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Man fühlt sich direkt willkommen und gut aufgehoben. Insgesamt ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder und kann das Restaurant absolut weiterempfehlen!

Wir haben Essen bestellt und würden leider nicht noch einmal bestellen. Es war lecker, aber eher durchschnittlich. Leider war es dafür extrem teuer. Ein Hauptgericht ca. 20€. Zudem haben wir 2 x Naanbrot bestellt. Dieses hat insgesamt 7,80€ gekostet und war eine kleine Flade in zwei Hälften geteilt. Hätte ich nicht gewusst, dass es zwei Portionen sind, hätte ich es nichtmal für eine gehalten. Das war das mit Abstand teuerste Brot meines Lebens für die sehr kleine Portion.

Eins der besten Restaurants! Das Essen ist ein Traum genauso wie das Mango Lassi!! Und die Mitarbeiter sind einfach nur total nett und zuvorkommend.

Für mich als Inderin die erste und letzte Wahl..das Essen ist erste Klasse, mega lecker und der Service total aufmerksam und kinderlieb. Haweli hat auch unser Hochzeitscatering in der Wolkenburg übernommen. Unsere Gäste kamen nicht aus dem schwärmen raus ❤️ Wir können uns nur bedanken und werden immer wiederkommen 😊🪷

Bestellt habe ich 2x Butter chicken einmal als vegetarisch Geschmacklich in Ordnung aber 3,90€ für ein einziges Garlic Naan was auch relativ geschmacksneutral war finde ich extrem frech Weiß nicht ob ich hier nochmal bestelle

Wir waren für den Mittagstisch das erste Mal bei Haweli und waren echt begeistert. Für 14€ pro Gericht bekommt man echt viel für sein Geld inklusive Reis und Naan. Außerdem ist es richtig cool, dass Klassiker wie Butter Chicken auch mit impossible Chicken zubereitet werden können und somit von vegetarisch oder vegan essenden Personen gegessen werden können. Personal war zudem sehr freundlich. Super Restaurant in Zollstock, wir kommen gerne wieder 🤩

Indisch zu essen ist immer ein Erlebnis, wenn die Speisen mit Liebe zubereitet sind. Das ist im Haweli der Fall. Chicken tikka marsala ist wunderbar und die Portion üppig. Dazu kommt das freundliche Personal, das sich angenehm einbringt. Die Überraschung ist ein indischer Chenin blanc, der eine milde Würzigkeit in sich trägt. Gerne komme ich wieder.

Wir haben dort Essen für eine Feier bestellt, lief alles bestens, leckeres Essen, gute Beratung der Speisen und insgesamt sehr gute Kommunikation.

Volle Fünf Sterne! Wir waren heute das erste Mal zu viert im Haweli und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Ambiente ist toll, die Servicekräfte sind super nett und das Essen war bei jedem von uns richtig gut. Für die super Qualität sind die Preise angenehm moderat. Wir sind begeistert und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

The food was quite tasty. Friendly service. A bit pricey. The only downside was the bread, naan, which was disappointing. Too small and too dry. And you couldn't really taste the garlic at all, which was a shame.

Unfortunately, none of the diverse Indian spices you experience in other Indian restaurants were present. Two dishes: one with tomato, cream, and sugar, and the other with an excess of paprika powder. Next time, I'll go to the competition.

The food is good, but the takeaway discount is a bit misleading. Lunch in the shop costs €13.50 with bread and rice. However, the takeaway price for the same dish with bread and rice is €13.20, even though a 20% discount is advertised, as the menu only lists dishes with rice. It seems more like marketing than a genuine discount upon closer inspection. Otherwise, the staff are always very friendly.

I chose the Impossible Chicken Butter – a completely vegan dish – and was pleasantly surprised. It was full of flavor, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. A great option for anyone who eats plant-based food or simply wants to try something new. The service is exceptionally attentive, friendly, and always present without being intrusive. You feel completely at ease. A particular highlight: The restaurant boasts a cozy backyard terrace, which is a real treat in the summer – perfect for relaxing and winding down the evening. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant for anyone who appreciates good Indian cuisine, warm service, and a pleasant atmosphere.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Cologne. Authentically seasoned and not toned down for Western tastes. Very varied menu. Unfortunately, the lunch buffet is no longer offered. Update from November 8, 2025: I must add that all the staff are extremely friendly and service-oriented...but the owner really does everything he can. I haven't been disappointed once in the last 10 years 😍

Delicious food – but not for those who can't handle spicy food. Even the dishes listed on the menu as not spicy at all were borderline for me. The service was very friendly and extremely accommodating if something wasn't quite right (they immediately offered to prepare my food again with less spice). The mango lassis are divine.

I've rarely eaten such bad butter chicken. It had nothing to do with butter chicken. Unfortunately, it was completely liquid, and the naan bread was a joke. I can't recommend this place.

The staff were super friendly and personable, the ambiance was truly beautiful and inviting, and the food was first-class. Super deliciously seasoned, tender meat, and super tasty palak paneer. I have been to the restaurant a few times. Their chicken jalfrezi is good but shahi paneer was really bland. The naan is crispy as opposed to a soft butter naan. They could not follow my instructions well about the food. If you really want authentic Indian food, I would not recommend this place.

Well, I didn't think the butter chicken was good at all. It was practically unseasoned, as you'd expect from Indian cuisine, and tasted more like a watery tomato sauce with a hint of spice. Either I was just incredibly unlucky with my portion, or the people who rated it as good have simply never had a truly good Indian meal. I wouldn't give the restaurant another chance because of this experience.

All the staff are always in such a good mood and incredibly friendly! Ordering by phone always goes smoothly. We even had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding there with 20 people in February, and all of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming. We had a delicious and authentic meal. We had a selection of starters and main courses recommended. Everything was made with love. The service was very good. We sat outside. Highly recommended.

EDIT 2: Sorry, but my reading comprehension isn't so good. EDIT 1: Thanks for your reply. Don't worry, the restaurants mentioned also serve North Indian dishes. No one has to eat at Haweli. I have to admit, your Google photos look better, too; maybe they just serve a reduced quality at Wolt? I also highly recommend Haldi Spoon in Mühlheim. And hey, if you look at the photo of Thali or have ever eaten at Royal Punjabi, you'll just have to agree with me. I bet none of you in the kitchen eat your repeatedly fried onion bahjis—they were just terrible! My butter chicken was far too uninterestingly seasoned and at least didn't have much butter in it. My husband's tikka sauce was about half a day too old, and the meat wasn't marinated long enough. The onion bahjis, uh, weren't my cup of tea: too dense, so the chickpea flour didn't cook properly. The best were the mixed pickles from Patak's, which we still had in a jar in the fridge. Sad but true. I'll repeat myself: you have to order from Saravana Bhavana or Chennai Chef in Nippes (govardhan if you're full-on). Any other Indian food doesn't make sense in Cologne. Plus points: large portions, perfectly fine rice (but without spices). The kulfi was also good - though I don't have much expertise in that area. I was dazzled by the Wolt offer :-(

I had the butter chicken with rice and naan bread. It was incredibly delicious, and the meat was tender as butter. Unfortunately, there were only two thin naan breads available, which is quite steep for an extra €3. I would definitely order again.
