Ginti Indian Restaurant in Köln

A beautiful restaurant with delicious food. I highly recommend it to everyone, and the prices are reasonable.

The food is always good, I would definitely recommend ordering, because the delivery is quite an experience: The delivery driver is the final boss; you have to defeat him to get your food. He always double-parks, has no time, can't find a parking spot, and you have to quickly run down the stairs to get the food from him. Because he can't go up. He doesn't have a parking space! He shouts this across the entire stairwell, so all your neighbors now know about his dilemma and your order. If you're not fast enough, he gets angry and accompanies your journey down the stairs with motivating shouts ("Why is this taking so long?! No parking! No time! Come down! Why is this taking so long?") while you're still desperately searching for your slippers, he tries to urge you on by increasing the volume ("I have to go, hurry up! I don't have a parking space"). Because of his dramatic performance, he can't hear the offer, shouted several times, to simply leave the food downstairs. Everyone should experience this for themselves, I think. That's why the hard-earned food tastes especially good.

You wait forever for your food, and if you want to inquire about the status, you get no answer. I've been disappointed repeatedly.

The worst experience I've ever had. I ordered through Lieferando at 6:30 PM. Even after three hours, the delivery hadn't arrived. I called several times, but no one answered. When someone finally did, I was told it would take another 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the delivery still hadn't arrived, and when I called again, I was told it would take another 15 minutes. It was as if they had never even prepared my food. An absolutely terrible and awful experience. I've never experienced a delivery taking three hours before.

We love coming here. The food is simply delicious. Thankfully, there's no buffet... otherwise, we'd never stop trying all the tasty sauces and dishes. We're already looking forward to our next visit. If you want to eat there Friday through Sunday, you should definitely make a reservation.

Today was the third time this year that I've been to a restaurant like this in Bonn/Niederkassel/Cologne. The fried grilled dish on New Year's Eve didn't taste particularly good without the sauce, and it was very expensive; I had to pay extra for everything. The side salad was a joke—three green leaves. Thank you for your response. I will never set foot in your restaurant again. Your delivery service is incredibly annoying and very uncomfortable. .

I ordered food from Lieferando, and the food wasn't fresh and was cold. The garlic naan didn't even have garlic on it. The delivery person was very unfriendly and refused to deliver the food to my door.

This review primarily concerns your Lieferando driver. Honestly, give him a job in a different role; he definitely can't and shouldn't work with people. Aggressive and rude. Your food is okay. I've had better, but also worse.

Sensational. The best Indian I have had in years (I have eaten this "traditional" style throughout the UK, in Berlin, Spain etc). The food was beautiful. The starter prawn dish (I forget the name) was incredible. Chicken Madras was hot, but not "too hot". Vegetarian dishes were full of flavour. Service was also brilliant. Thank you - we will return!

Very average Indian restaurant. Samosa was very good, tandoori chicken was average, I didn't like it it was full of spices, chicken biryani was good, chicken masala wasn't the best, I didn't like the naan dough, mango sauce was bad. Service isn't the best, dishes took a long time to be brought. I don't recommend trying this restaurant, there are better Indian restaurants, the experience was below expectations.

The delivery time was acceptable (unfortunately, I was hungry right during rush hour). The samosas were absolutely divine, and the rest was also quite tasty. I just wasn't quite prepared for what is considered "slightly spicy" here ^^. I survived it and will definitely order from here again the next time I feel like something Indian. Years ago, I ate there a few times with my family. We had a great time. The spice mix they offered us at the end rounded it off nicely. I would have loved to order that too :)

I ordered from Ginti via Lieferando and waited over two hours for my food. The restaurant couldn't help me over the phone either, and then they didn't answer my subsequent calls. The nerve!

Neotaste didn't work for flimsy reasons. We had to pay full price for lunch on Friday instead of the lunch price. You had to go to the cashier to pay, even though they provided a portable device, and the employee was incredibly rude. Apparently, you have to mention the Neotest beforehand to take advantage of the offer. They could have written NEVER AGAIN somewhere.

Super delicious, authentic, and gluten-free was no problem. The chef even thought about making me poppadoms, which aren't normally gluten-free because they're cooked in a contaminated deep fryer. He came a few minutes later and microwaved the poppadoms especially for me (I didn't know that was an option). Thank you so much for the great service.

Absolutely recommended!! We actually stumbled across Ginti on a friend's recommendation and are absolutely thrilled. The dishes always taste excellent, and we like to try something new. Since we're not that familiar with Indian cuisine, we like to ask for recommendations – they're always a hit! We absolutely love the Papri Chaat and Gobi Manchurian and have to order them every time. I visited this restaurant for the first time on September 25th. The food was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. The ambiance was top-notch.

As an ex-Londoner, I have to say that dinner at Ginti’s is one of the best Indian meals I have ever had. The quality of the produce was fresh and well cooked, the curries non-oily with the service super friendly. The food was simply divine - we shall be back to eat again at this gem, when next in Köln.

Stopped by Ginti with colleagues during a business trip to Cologne, and it was an absolutely wonderful surprise. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Every single dish we tried was truly amazing; authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The prices are very reasonable, offering fantastic value for the quality. The restaurant itself is spacious and easily accommodated our large group without feeling cramped. The decor is authentic and on-point, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. To top it all off, the waitstaff were incredibly friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, the worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to... To start with, as is usual in all Indian restaurants I've been to, no papadums were served on the house. The main courses were also rather poor. Our group ordered mango chicken and butter chicken, among other dishes, both of which are usually very mild; the mango sauce was also a bit sweet. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for us, and the food was served far too spicy. We had two people in our group who don't like spicy food at all and have never eaten Indian food before, and we wanted to convince them that Indian food doesn't always have to be spicy – ​​unfortunately, we couldn't. Both dishes were even considerably spicier than the palak paneer, which is described on the menu as "spicy and spicy." The palak paneer was far too mild and also had a very bitter aftertaste, which was very confusing to me. The naan was also a disappointment, as it wasn't served warm and fluffy, but cold and crispy, and way too salty. What I find most outrageous, however, is that we had to pay an extra charge for reordered portions of rice, which isn't mentioned anywhere on the menu and is definitely NOT usual otherwise. The amount of rice initially served for 6 people was only enough for 4. We also found the price of almost €8 for a 0.7l bottle of water questionable. The service also left a lot to be desired. Either no waiter came by when our plates were empty, or one of them looked at our empty plates and glasses several times and then moved on...??? All in all, I definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food that deserves 4 stars. The vegetarian and vegan selection is also very extensive. The ambiance is actually quite pleasant. Unfortunately, I didn't like the service so much, as you had to constantly call the waiters because they wouldn't even look over at you, even after a long wait. Anyone who simply wants good Indian food and doesn't care about service will have no problems here. However, since I place greater importance on service, I'm giving it 3 stars.

A very good Indian restaurant in the heart of Cologne. It looks rather unassuming from the outside, but it's definitely worth it! The food was excellent: intensely spiced, spicy, but pleasantly hot. Nothing unpleasantly burning. The service was friendly, even if a slightly annoyed tone came across when explaining the dishes. The place is small, simply decorated, but still cozy. Anyone looking for good Indian cuisine should stop by here. Highly recommended. I'd be happy to go back!

We stopped here as part of the Kulturklüngel tour. Based on my previous experiences, I wouldn't have gone to this restaurant again. We were shown how naan bread is prepared in the tandoori clay oven, which was very exciting to see. Thank you for that. BUT at the time of our visit, the toilets were very dirty! Our tour guide also told us that there was a special deal for the Kulturklüngel tour: the mango lassi was half price. Unfortunately, the mango lassi was only half the size of the regular mango lassi (if that). So, unfortunately, you can't really call it a deal.

Delicious Indian food, the atmosphere was nice. Service was good too. Six of us tried 5-6 different dishes, 2-3 of which we really liked and 2-3 less so. If you like spicy food, I recommend Madras.

I would definitely recommend Lamm Biryani and Chicken Kadai. The food was so authentic and flavourful. They have one of the best Lamn Biryani. Shahi Paneer was also absolutely tasty with it’s creamy texture and soft paneer pieces. It’s a must visit Indian restaurant if you’re in Köln.

Very creamy curries, homemade mango lassi and super delicious!

I usually eat Aloo Saag or Chana Masala at the Indian restaurant. My conclusion after briefly trying them: I find both dishes better at every other Indian restaurant in Cologne, for example, Ganesha, which is directly across the street, among others.

The waiter who served us before was smoking a vape at the bar - THAT'S SIMPLY NOT ACCEPTABLE! The "Tandoori Murgh Masala" was supposed to be flavored with cashews and raisins. Unfortunately, we only found 2-3 raisins, so it was more of a garnish. The "Bhuna with Chicken" was good. Both dishes quickly formed an oily film, and the sauce separated. So, something clearly went wrong in the preparation. As a result, it tasted very greasy. The rice arrived cold. Unfortunately, they also skimped on spices, which is really sad for Indian cuisine. Everything also gets cold quickly. For the first time ever, I couldn't swap the rice for naan at an Indian restaurant, only ordering it at full price. The argument that the rice would otherwise be wasted is incomprehensible to me. If no one goes to the restaurant, the rice will also be thrown away.... The restaurant has a classically decorated interior. Soft music played, and the overall atmosphere was somewhat sober. The prices were clearly too high for the quality of the food.

Authentic Indian food in the heart of Cologne! I recently ate at Ginti in Cologne and was absolutely thrilled. The restaurant is stylishly decorated and, with its cozy atmosphere, creates a wonderful setting for a relaxing evening. The food was outstanding – authentic, aromatic, and prepared with attention to detail. I particularly enjoyed the curries and freshly baked naan bread. There's a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, but meat lovers will also find something to their liking. The service was attentive, friendly, and quick. Even with a large number of guests, the staff remained calm and courteous. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit. Anyone who loves Indian cuisine should definitely try Ginti. I'll definitely be back!

I went to pickup some food with my friends yesterday to go. The service was lovely we got a very tasty mango lassie during our wait and overall the staff as the atmosphere were very kind. We ordered curry’s and the portions were good not too small. Loved the rice and the taste perfectly seasoned as well as the naan bread. My friend is vegetarian and loved her plates as well and there was enough options for her to choose. I will be coming back :) 10/10 can recommend

We ordered butter chicken, shabji garlic chili, and garlic naan to go. The food was not only delicious but also prepared very quickly. Even though it took us about 15 minutes to get home, everything was still piping hot. We particularly appreciated the large selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. During our short wait, we were even surprised with a mango lassi on the house—a very nice gesture. Verdict: Definitely a clear recommendation! 🌶️🥭🍛

Our family went for dinner yesterday when temperatures was more than 30 degrees, our table which was reserved was at odd place at the corner next to the outside door and air conditioning was not even turned on, we were literally sweating so I asked him to switch on the Ac but I was told as door is open he can’t switch it on. We changed out seat still it was not a comfortable seat as it was just in the front of bar not in the main seating area and still too hot and uncomfortable experience, food was average not outstanding, we already told them food should be medium spicy not very spicy but both paneer and chicken gravy were very hot and spicy. we travelled around 2 hrs from Eindhoven for dinner was a waste .I will not recommend this place.
