No card payments, or are they? The food and the service were great. There are several Ginti branches under the same owner, but that's exactly the problem. I've had several unpleasant experiences with the owner in the past, especially in his newer branch... not to mention that he's self-absorbed and lets himself be printed on the menus... It's only when paying that they point out that you MUST pay in cash; card payments are NOT possible. There are two card readers, and after much discussion, card payments finally worked. It's a shame that the owner's other branches offer just as unpleasant experiences, and that's why people prefer to go to other Indian restaurants.

Yesterday, I have visited the Ginti with 2 other friends and all of us were sick by tonight. We have ordered Murg chicken masala and Madras Chicken curry, I have never taken my time to write a review but the only reason is we are sick very badly with stomach aches and bloating. We had the doubt that food is not fresh and smelled something weird but the after affects are brutal now. I kindly request to the hotel management to serve fresh food for indian customers. We paid nearly 55eur for getting sick and even the food is very expensive.

We always enjoy eating at Ginti because the food is simply unbelievably delicious! The dishes are aromatic, fresh, and always leave you wanting more. The staff sometimes seem a little awkward, but they quickly make up for it with their warm personality. If you're craving authentic Indian food, I highly recommend Ginti!

The Ambience and vegetarian food was good but the waiter literally took my phone and wrote a 5 star review himself. We were offered a free starter for writing a review but little did we know, we were going to be under constant pressure of writing a google review and posting Instagram stories upto a point where someone came and actually wrote a review himself.

The food is really good and the staff is amazing.

First time in an Indian restaurant. We walked in hesitantly, not knowing what kind of food it was. A very friendly waiter offered us very tasty food. The service was simply top notch, and mango juice was also given as a gift. My wife and I simply had a nice dinner. You won't find such restaurants everywhere in Germany. Well done.

Wish i could rate 0 for everything. They literally take more than 180 mins just to deliver a food. I had ordered food twice or thrice and all the time there was delay all the time and they never respond properly. They say will be delivered soon but never deliver on time. Very bad deliver option and really dont want to order again here.

Totally bad experience i went there with my brother for dinner unproffesional employee and no ethics how to talk with customers bad behaviour with us while ordering .Even food was not a tasteworthy.

Below average food and overpriced! I was also concerned about the quality of the food, as the Puris in panipuri dish did smell weird and old. Curries were very mediocre and the mango lassi was terrible. Also, no employee did care to check on us for the feedback. Overall, really disappointed!

**Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Lack of Accountability** We visited Ginti for the first time and had high hopes. We ordered a non-veg thali, Manchurian, fried rice, and drinks. Importantly, we clearly stated that we do *not* eat lamb and requested that the thali exclude it. When the food arrived, I even double-checked with the server, who assured me it was as per our request. Unfortunately, after serving it to my family and starting to eat, we discovered that the thali *did* contain lamb. When we called the server, his response was alarmingly casual. He simply said they would replace it—without any apology or urgency. They took all our plates and returned with just the chicken curry. We explained that we had already served the naan and other items from the thali, and now had nothing left to eat. Eventually, they brought back naan, but still with no real acknowledgment of the mistake or inconvenience caused. What’s worse is the overall lack of professionalism—staff arguing loudly in front of customers, no sense of hospitality, and no effort to make up for the error. One of the servers even said, “You eat non-veg, right? So it’s okay even if it was lamb.” That kind of dismissiveness is completely unacceptable. To add to the frustration, the menu on Google is outdated. Prices at the restaurant are significantly higher, which adds to the feeling of being misled. Overall, it was a deeply disappointing experience. Poor service, careless mistakes, and an uncomfortable atmosphere made it impossible to enjoy our meal. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a respectful and family-friendly dining experience.

Authentic taste, quick service, friendly staff

While traveling in Cologne, I was looking for Indian food and visited 'Ginti Indian Restaurant'. It was a place I found by chance, and upon entering the restaurant, I could feel a traditional Indian atmosphere. My friend and I ordered four items: Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Tikka Masala, along with Garlic Naan and Butter Naan. The dishes captured traditional Indian flavors well. The curries had a good spice aroma and tasted delicious with the freshly baked, warm Naan breads. We had a filling and satisfying time eating together with my friend. If I visit Cologne again in the future, I would like to revisit 'Ginti Indian Restaurant' and try other dishes. It seems like a good option for those looking for Indian food in Cologne.

Great selection of different starters, naan breads, dips, main courses (also vegetarian & vegan) and desserts. The food is served beautifully and the lassis are great too. Price-performance ratio is right, the staff is friendly and there is also a lunch special during the week. We always leave Ginti very happy and rolling!

We had reserved a table for two people and arrived on time. Unfortunately we initially had to stand for 10-15 minutes as the reception area was not well organized. Priority was given to billing customers at the checkout who were already there even though we were waiting for a table. This creates an awkward situation as guests crowd near the reception area. Another drawback is the air circulation in the restaurant. The air is very warm and there is no sign of windows being opened to provide more fresh air. This is inconvenient, especially when you are near the kitchen. When we were greeted, we didn't ask for the name for the reservation, but simply looked for free tables. It is unfortunate that a larger group that had reserved after us but arrived later was given priority in seating. The concept of reservation does not seem to be consistently implemented here, as the allocation of tables seems to depend more on the group size, which contradicts the idea of ​​a reservation. The service in general leaves a lot to be desired. Although the waiters are polite and do their jobs, the organization and planning of the process could be significantly improved. The food itself is good and tastes good, the prices are okay - neither too high nor too low. Unfortunately, the inefficient service spoils the overall experience, which is why I have to make compromises here. I hope the restaurant works on organization and air circulation to improve the guest experience.

I have been ordering from Ginti for several years and have never been disappointed. Very tasty Indian food. Fair prices, it's best to order directly on the website, it's cheaper. Also delivers on the right bank of the Rhine.

The food tastes good, but the staff is completely untrained. The restaurant was moderately full, but we were still seated in the aisle. After asking, we were moved to the anteroom. The heating wasn't working there, and we were moved again. As I said, the staff isn't sufficiently trained. We had ordered sauces for our appetizer. After we finished the appetizer, the waiter came and wanted to take the sauces away without even asking if that was okay. When the main course arrived, the waiters touched the cutlery we had already used. The cutlery almost fell to the floor; my husband managed to catch it, but it landed on his clothes. We weren't offered a napkin or new cutlery. I won't go there again.

I ordered through Uber Eats. The driver wanted me to come down and pick up the food. Then the food was completely cold, my request for spiciness was ignored and the taste was not good at all. Will not order here again...

I ate in this Indian restaurant for the first time today. As part of a team event, we have reserved a table for 12 people. We visited the restaurant at 2pm, to coincide with the lunch specials. However, it was not possible for us to benefit from the lunch specials without an explanation. So we had to pay €4 more for each dish. When paying, it was initially said that you could pay by card, before suddenly only cash was possible. We ran out of cash and suddenly card payments were possible again. For this reason alone, I no longer visit the restaurant. The food was good.

Very disappointing experience! We were not allowed into the restaurant just to use the toilet even though our little daughter really needed it. It is simply inhumane to deny a child access. A little compassion and understanding should go without saying, but apparently not here. We will definitely avoid this restaurant and cannot recommend it!

We ordered chicken lollipops, garlic naan, chicken masala, butter chicken, onion bhaji and mango lassi. Everything was great, people was nice. We really liked the food 💯

Today we were at Ginti and will eat here again in the future. I love the selection and that you can order both mild and spicy dishes. There is something for every person here. I can do the veg. Highly recommend thali platter! You get different sauces, dips, bread, rice and dessert. A very good option, especially if you can't decide. The sauces were all really delicious. My partner was also very happy with his choice. We'd love to come back.

Food is fine. Pani puri was exceptional. The vegetables pakoras are too dry and felt raw chickpea oil and like a ball. Could make it better. Parathas as nice!! I never was able to have serving of Chai in my three times visit. :/

Unfortunately, the order overall was really disappointing. The butter chicken was quite dry and at most lukewarm, so the price/performance ratio is simply not right. The service was rather subpar, the delivery took over an hour, which can certainly happen. Unfortunately, the employee on the phone was really rude and told me to be patient and just hung up. Miserable service. Order wasn't there after almost 2 hours. When asked, they said “colleague is coming” and simply hung up. Food arrived cold and unfortunately didn't taste good at all.

Especially as a vegan, you'll get your money's worth here - there's absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of taste, quite the opposite! However, we were disappointed several times by the delivery service. After we ordered via Lieferando, we received a message asking us to order via their website in the future. We found this a bit strange, but understandable as it saves you the Lieferando fees. Unfortunately, the reality of the delivery service was rather chaotic: The delivery person always seemed to be short on time, shouted loudly through the stairwell that he was in the second row and had to put the food on the stairs. A cozy Sunday meal feels different - and to be honest, that always made me feel uneasy when ordering more. However, the low point was yesterday: After **two and a half hours of waiting**, without any information by email or telephone, it was clear to us that we would no longer order here. I would like to emphasize again that the food is really excellent - but unfortunately the delivery service ruins the experience. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to take the risk.

I have eaten there many times. You used to receive a good and warm welcome there, which is unfortunately no longer the case today. When we were there today we received a rude welcome and were offered a place to sit right next to others - literally right next to each other very very closely. There was also a free table for two people, and when I asked if we could sit there they said the table was just dirty and needed to be cleared. We were prepared to wait, but the waiter cheekily told us to just sit down - exactly where we would have sat right next to others. So we just left the store. We think it's a shame because we were regular customers!

Unfortunately a disappointment. Where were turmeric, cumin and all the tantalizing nuances that make up Indian cuisine? Apparently on a business trip. Our P&L shows that the cost per serving is too high, which is depressing satisfaction - we either have to optimize the cost of goods or adjust the prices.

Today in the old year the third time in such a restaurant in Bonn / Niederkassel / Cologne today the fried grill plate on New Year's Eve didn't taste particularly tasty without sauce and it was very expensive everything had to be paid extra. The side salad was a joke 3 green leaves. Many Thanks for your reply, I will never set foot in your restaurant again. Their delivery service is incredibly disruptive and it is very uncomfortable. The restaurant tester from WD television would have to look at what you are offering as a grill plate. It definitely doesn't give any stars and shows how it can be done better. .

Food was really good. But the thali plates on the menu "don't exist". Aha. While the last bites were being eaten, the service came and cleared away the food. Despite a reservation, the reception was hectic and uncoordinated. Menu “worn out” and not clean. No decorations or anything else on the table. It is very loud and it was overcrowded (large groups at small tables = aisles almost impossible to walk through). Women's toilet was not clean. And in the end it says: why not cash payment? Everything is then transferred to a second system for an endless amount of time, and then you can pay with a card “unwanted”. All of this is going much better.

I have eaten Indian food in several countries around the world and Ginti in Cologne is one of the best. We have been eating at Ginti for many years and always enjoy it. The food was good and the portions were decent and filled you up. We were there on a Friday and the three of us got a place even without a reservation. However, the drink prices are m.m.n. a bit cheeky. €3.30 for a 0.2l Kölsch is an announcement. That reduces the joy of the visit a little.

Went there with a Neotaste voucher but it still wasn't worth it. Very bad service, simply underground in terms of expertise. Especially for these proud prices. But the food itself was good. Price performance but really bad. €8 for a 0.7l water bottle or €7 for a mango lassi, €17-25 main course. Sauces etc. all cost extra and not cheap. I don't understand why Indian food is always so ridiculously expensive. It's rice and bread with vegetables or some chicken. The starter was “mixed vegetables” and we simply got fried vegetables. The service is very nice and the food tastes great. The selection of drinks is enormous and unique.

The food tasted good, but quickly got cold in the bowls without a warming device. The service was quite taciturn. We sat in the front of the restaurant. The atmosphere here is uncomfortable. Plus it was constantly cold. I recommend installing a vestibule or at least a thick curtain in front of the shop door. The toilets were unkempt.

Incredibly nice people and the food comes straight from the tandoori! We have rarely eaten such good Indian food. I can really only recommend it!

A (unfortunately) disappointing experience. We've been there many times and had it delivered several times, but today was the last time. Portions are getting smaller and more expensive (the starter just looked sad). Rice was canceled once and asked for an alternative, no chance... the rice was still brought for 2 people (unnecessary food waste). Statement: the rice is always with you and there is no need to exchange it! So €14.50 for a small pot of vegetables…. Very exaggerated... Conclusion: too expensive for the portions, inaccessible staff. Too bad….

The food is simply incredibly delicious and the staff is very nice. They also make the best Garlic Naan and have a great selection for vegan to meat. When it comes to the ambience, the restaurant could simply be decorated a little nicer and warmer, otherwise everything is great.

Prices are a bit high. Meals for 15-22€, 0.3 mango lassi for 6€. After all, the drinks were great, the bread was great and the meat was wonderfully tender. I found the curries to be unspectacular for the price. Service unfortunately a bit unfriendly and intrusive. Not a great deal for €55 at 2P

The food was ok. But also just ok and warm. The service was unfriendly and the service was even shorter after we hadn't ordered naan bread or a starter. There were two times today: the first and last time. 👎🏻 sorry, that's not how you do it.

The food was pretty average. The one of the curries, dal makhni we ordered was too salty. It was un-eatable. Nobody came to ask how the food was. Could not even send it back. Starters were decent. In the end they said we have to pay only by cash.

Very good restaurant, the food is excellent! Portions and service are ok. I'm removing a few stars because still water served by the glass costs more than €3. We expect to have the bottle on the table at the price of the glass. You will know what to expect when you go there.

Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you've ever had Indian food that was even halfway decent. We ordered through Wolt and got a burnt, inedible dal makhani. When we called, they promised to replace it with our next order—but that turned out to be an even bigger disaster. Playing it safe, we ordered butter paneer and samosa chaat. Not only did the food arrive over an hour late after it was supposedly "delivered," but the paneer tasted downright off, almost spoiled. The naan was rubbery and unchewable, and they completely botched the order by sending some bland, tasteless Manchurian instead of the chaat we ordered. Everything lacked flavor to an almost shocking degree. Total waste of money.

The food is not fresh and doesn't taste particularly good. So 3/10. Women's toilet smells unpleasant and is not clean. 🧼 2 portions for 2 different people are served in one plate without consent! We felt very uncomfortable. And in the end it says: card payment is not possible! Cash only! Attention customs! Unpleasant atmosphere.

We were looking forward to a meal at Christmas and reserved a table. However, to our great disappointment, we were seated outside despite having a reservation - and that in December! Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and did not meet our expectations. Absolutely unacceptable for a special occasion like Christmas. We definitely won't go here again.

Hands down the best and authentic Indian food in Cologne! The host and staff are extremely sweet and polite. The food is as close as one could get to home 🫶🏻 and the menu is vast! So you can choose from a wide variety of dishes! Absolutely enjoyed the chana masala and bhature. The masala chaas is a must try! We were fortunate to get the complimentary mango lassi which was delish as well. Also had the opportunity of meet the cook, Mr. Gobinda who hails from Kendrapada, Odisha and Kuddos to the delicious food that you prepare! 💯 highly recommended to try this place out if you are in Cologne!
