We feel particularly at home there with children. The entire team is friendly, attentive, and loves children. The burgers are simply amazing – juicy, perfectly seasoned, and made with great, fresh ingredients. The salads are always fresh and lovingly prepared. For us, there's no competition – these are by far the best burgers and salads in Düsseldorf! And then there are the cocktails… words truly fail you! Whether with or without alcohol – they're creative, delicious, and simply a delight. We're already looking forward to our next visit. For us, Hulala is always a little piece of vacation in the middle of the city. 🥰🍔🍹

Our highlight in the heart of Düsseldorf! We've been to Hulala Restaurant several times – with the whole family – and it's always a hit. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff super friendly, and children are absolutely welcome there too. The burgers are simply unbeatable – really juicy, grilled to perfection, and made with lots of love. The salads are also really fresh and taste great. For us, they're clearly the best burgers and salads around. And then the cocktails – you just have to try them to see how good they are. The taste is simply on a whole other level. We also love the meat burgers, which have recently been added to the menu. They round off the excellent offerings and are a real treat. A place where you feel at home and want to come back. For us, definitely one of the best restaurants in Düsseldorf!

until a few weeks ago, all the food and drinks were completely vegan, but when I visited yesterday, I was surprised and saddened to see many burger alternatives made from beef on the menu. It seems that this business has put aside ethical concerns and started to care more about commercial concerns, which shows that the owners are not vegan and their main goal is commercial

I wanted to order a burger at Hulala again and noticed that the menu had changed. At first, I was excited and thought, "Oh, cool, new desserts," until I took a closer look at the menu (thankfully!): beef burger patties, cheese, and cow's milk cheesecake. I canceled my order in time, but almost unknowingly ordered meat... After more than a year of being "100% vegan," they're suddenly selling animal cruelty without any clear notice. I couldn't find a single reference to the concept change on the website or Instagram. I'm appalled and will never come back!

We used to come here often, and liked it quite a bit - the prices were alright, the burgers were good. We visited again today after quite some time, and unfortunately we didn't have a great experience like we used to. The Truffle Smash burgers we ordered were dry, almost burnt, and very bland. There was a small bit of truffle mayo in the centre, otherwise the rest was dry. Very thin, dry patty - yes, it's a smash burger, but I've never had one with such a dry, thin patty. Little ingredients inside otherwise - 80% bun, which tasted almost burnt. Basically, a small step above what you'd expect from late night McDonalds. The price - 11.90€ for just the burger. Maybe it was just a fluke, maybe the staff was overworked, since it was a Saturday night - still, this shouldn't be acceptable for the price, considering it's about a standard price for a decent burger in a full seated service restaurant. Later we found out the burgers are no longer plant based - so we ate meat without knowing, which we don't eat. There is a little beige icon in the corner with a cow, but that's all. If you've been coming here for a while like we have, you wouldn't really check for that. The service is alright, minimal. It's optimized by a digital order terminal, fast food style. I don't mind this, makes ordering simple. Card only. The decor is very well done, I like the beach bar theme. Drinks are alright, the presentation is really nice, the taste is average but alright. The music isn't my cup of tea, sounded a bit like gym music, quite out of place considering the decor. It's loud when busy. Overall, not a good eating experience, especially for the price. For drinks it's alright. Also, they are no longer plant based, but serve meat now as well. We ended up accidentally eating meat, which we don't eat (it used to be exclusively plant based, so we didn't bother to check).

Hulala has a colorful, tropical vibe and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu includes both meat and vegetarian options, which is great for mixed groups. I had Pimiento King, fries, and a fresh salad bowl. While everything looked beautiful, the patty was a bit dry and the bun slightly overbaked. Their refreshing mocktails and a calming tea with dessert helped round off the experience nicely. Ordering is easy and modern, you can use the self-service kiosk or scan the QR code on your table to order and pay online. A lovely place for a casual, healthy meal with great vibes and lots of plant-based choices!

8 Burgers (4 Beef, 4 Vegan) Unfortunately, the delicious-sounding burgers are vegan, and the ordering system isn't very flexible. The burgers are okay, but rather expensive. The chili cheese nuggets are vegan chicken nuggets.

Nice place with bad food. Burgers are more greasy than I've ever had anywhere else. My stomach didn't feel good afterwards and it just didn't taste good. Food that was ordered even though the place was COMPLETELY EMPTY was served lukewarm. I don't understand that. Our food was initially given to a different table. It took a while before they realized a mistake had been made, even though we had given table numbers. We ordered the truffle balls, and they were also so greasy they kept coming back. Vegan burgers are all well and good, but let people vary their diet a bit. I only eat chicken and no beef or vegan alternatives, and unfortunately I didn't even have the option of adding a slice of cheese to the vegan chicken. With every other non-vegan burger you can add or remove tons of ingredients. Why not there? I can't figure it out. Especially when they ONLY take orders via tablet. Many of the advertised products weren't even available. Also a real shame. Unfortunately, even with the best will in the world, I can't understand the reviews. We don't have particularly high standards, but if you want a burger, you're even better off at Hans's.

Very tasty Smah Burgers, especially the Truffle Burger. The staff is very helpful and provides information about vegan alternatives. They also have funny sayings, and you feel a bit like you're on vacation.

A top-notch place! I'm only in town for a conference and I have to honestly say it was a fantastic experience!!! Yes, it's true that it's self-service, but personally, I think that's really great. I find it old-fashioned to have someone running around armed with a blog to take your order; with digital ordering, the food can be served quickly and efficiently. The atmosphere is great; real love has gone into the decor here. The prices are absolutely reasonable and don't spoil the experience in the slightest. One last point: You often read reviews here about vegans complaining that "their" restaurant has been taken away from them. Simply ridiculous and, on the other hand, even frightening, what an intolerant and disloyal bunch they are... Not once have I read of meat eaters complaining so much about vegan dishes on the menu of a "normal" burger restaurant. Unbelievable...

With a massive hunger pang, we headed toward Carlsplatz for a quick bite to eat. We went in without any expectations, but the interior of this shop surpassed all other existing stores of various franchise chains in Düsseldorf. We ordered quickly and easily at one of the many counters. After a short wait, our food was brought to us. Somewhat annoyed about the sauces we hadn't ordered, we tried the fries. The fries had the perfect texture and shape. Perfectly crispy, and more importantly, they were incredibly well seasoned. They didn't even need any sauce. The burgers, however, were immensely good; I actually went in with no expectations. They tasted like a cross between a smashed burger and a classic. Well-topped, but with well-grilled beef patties. Definitely not the last time. However, the Pimiento King could definitely have been a bit spicier.

We've been there several times now, and so far, everything has always been delicious! We really like the ambiance, and it feels a bit like sitting in a restaurant on Key West. Whenever we're in Düsseldorf, a visit is guaranteed! Update May 17, 2025 Unfortunately, Hulala has now bowed to the meat-eaters and now also offers meat dishes, which was absolutely unnecessary, as the burgers tasted absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, now you always have to be very careful about what you order.

A really nice atmosphere, with a very pleasant noise level, even when it's crowded. It's a real pleasure to sit here. The drinks looked amazing and tasted really good too. The prices are totally reasonable. The veggie burger was delicious, and the fries were great. The fried corn sticks were quite interesting, but I wouldn't order them again. You can order directly at your table via QR code or iPad – super relaxed. I even got a free ice cream for the review :))

The food was amazing! However, we were there on a busy day (Japan Day), and it was very crowded. Otherwise, on normal days, it's amazing!

My friends and I had to wait around 10 minutes to get seated, because it was a Saturday evening. Meanwhile some people just walked in and sat down at free tables, we were instructed to wait. The food came relatively fast and was good. You weren’t really able to taste the “vegan” out, and I - as a non vegan - didn’t “miss” any meat in this dish. Drinks weren’t as cold as I would’ve liked, yes, there were ice cubes but the drink itself wasn’t completely cold. By the end a service personal came over and offered us a free ice cream if we write an assessment on here, well, as you may have guessed I took that offer, but of course, this assessment is non biased. The staff was overall friendly, but seemed a bit uncoordinated at some points.

The shop is really super chic and beautifully decorated, and you feel at home. I agree with the advice that they should more clearly indicate that everything is vegan. We knew this before our visit, but a prominent and clear notice is missing. Unfortunately, the food was only average for us. It was beautifully presented, but the taste wasn't convincing. Especially since the burger and fries were only lukewarm; it seemed as if they had only been warmed up briefly before eating. Tastes differ, but for us, the burgers, especially the "meat" patties, weren't convincing. I loved that everything fried came from the air fryer, but the fries were soggy and far from crispy. The truffle mayo, on the other hand, was really great! For dessert, we had ice cream and donuts, the latter in particular were really delicious. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very service-oriented. They were very friendly, but when clearing the dishes and empty glasses, they were quick to ask if they wanted to order anything else or if they enjoyed their meal. The "fast food" character clearly comes through here, even if they want to differentiate themselves from that. There's still room for improvement. All in all, a nice place, but the food wasn't convincing and the price is quite steep. Sorry! EDIT from May 23, 2025: My review was also removed by Google the day before yesterday, due to an unlawful complaint from the restaurant owner, who was apparently incapable of accepting criticism, and accused of defamation. I was also able to prove via screenshots from my online banking that I had indeed visited this restaurant on August 7, 2023, and that my review was therefore true and has been reactivated by Google. Dear owner, it's truly embarrassing that you're so incapable of accepting criticism, which was always constructive, and so obviously have no interest in improving your products. You essentially accuse honest people of lying and delete reviews that don't fit your own worldview. This brings my original 3-star rating down to just one star. If I could, I'd give it a -10. If I were you, I'd be ashamed of my behavior.

I found the food, both the burgers and fries, as well as the desserts, to be rather average. The vegan patty tasted rather sticky, but thankfully the really tasty sauce made up for it. The fries, to be honest, weren't very crispy and were quite thin, but they were okay overall. The desserts were interesting, and there was a good selection, but unfortunately they were quite sweet. The staff were friendly and open to feedback. What I liked most in terms of taste were the mocktails. I thought the concept was cool, but I wish there was an alternative way for blind and visually impaired people to order food, as the screen isn't particularly accessible. The ambiance was also very pleasant: nice decor, and it wasn't too loud, so you could definitely understand each other. It wasn't too cramped, and the restrooms were relatively clean. In summary, even though the food was rather average, the ambiance made up for it, and I would definitely recommend it.

Not recommended. You can no longer trust that everything here is vegan. The website says "without guilt," but it should actually say "without conscience." If your (formerly vegan) restaurant isn't doing well, putting meat back on the menu isn't an option. Check out Nir Rosenfeld and how he did it!

I actually left a positive review here once, but since they've betrayed the animals and added a "smash patty (100% beef)" to the menu, this restaurant is no longer an option for me! What a fall from grace.

Really nice new shop with a modern, warm atmosphere. We were really satisfied. Price performance is great. It's super easy to place your order at the terminal or on your mobile phone. Burgers and fries were impeccable. You'll be happy to come back!

Unfortunately I can't say anything positive about this store. It was bad all around. We were looking forward to vegan burgers and were not only completely disappointed in terms of taste. The burgers were served lukewarm at most. Our supplements were forgotten and only added after repeated requests. The fries were dry and had no taste (just salty). There was also around 20g of salty mayonnaise for €1.20. As a "compensation" we got the no-chicken tenders on the house... in terms of taste, they fitted in with the overall picture and were therefore rather disappointing. The Peach Ice Tea was more similar to Fanta than iced tea. Edit: Now only 1 star. Instead of dealing with criticism, the provider tries to simply have negative reviews removed via Google as “defamation”.
