Hulala – Pretty Burger & Drinks in Düsseldorf

Very chill location, good food which arrived very quickly :)

We were drawn in by the beautiful setting. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. We only ate because we were starving. The fries were almost cold, the burger was almost cold, and the taste was truly awful. I don't know what all the hype is about. We thought it was bad and far too expensive. Even McDonald's is tastier, sorry.

Everything was great, we'd love to come again :-)

The background music was pleasant, not too loud to disturb conversations. I didn't order any food, but the limoncello spritz was delicious, the decor was attractive, and everything was clean. Everything arrived quickly, and the service was friendly.

We had the Pistachio Ice Bun dessert here once, and it was really delicious. We then went back four more times just to order the dessert, and each time it wasn't available! My favorite excuse was: "The ice cream machine is being cleaned, so we're out of ice cream today" – it's like McDonald's! Why is the dessert even on the menu?! We went at different times of day, sometimes at 1 p.m., sometimes at 5 p.m., but it was never available...

A delicious burger spot with a creative theme and tasty food! Especially for vegans, there's a great selection; the burgers are a good size and very flavorful. The drinks are also a great alternative to typical soft drinks and not too expensive at all. Even if the Hawaiian theme isn't your thing, Hulala is worth a visit for the food alone!

A truly delicious, plant-based vegan burger that you won't even know is vegan. Delicious fries with herbs, super healthy salads that you can customize with more ingredients and a tasty dressing. The drinks, especially the homemade iced tea, are also delicious. It's a nice place to sit and have a lovely atmosphere.

Food is good and portions are well sized and staff service was great. Part of the order was missing but was corrected immediately without issue. However, once you look past the food and service, it is essentially a nicely decorated McDonald’s style restaurant with the prices to match the expensive decor.

Great atmosphere, and the food (burgers and lemonade) was delicious! The burger with nachos was especially good! It was really nice all around, and it was a pleasure to spend time there. I do have one small criticism: the restrooms could be a bit better maintained, and they could just stop by and do some "cleaning" or tidying up. See you next time!

You can do it - but you don't have to. Con: The burgers were okay at best, barely seasoned. They also arrived five minutes late (there were two of us...), weren't even lukewarm, and the patty was already dried out. The caramelized onions I ordered separately weren't on the burger. The fries were forgotten and arrived even later, also lukewarm, soggy, and dry - that was a truly disappointing experience. Pro: Very friendly service and truly delicious drinks. We also really enjoyed the vegan soft serve ice cream with pistachio and brownie.

Service was fast. Atmosphere is really nice. Prices were fair. I do think the food was quite bad. The fries were super dry and kinda old tasting. The burger was better, but still not great. Maybe worth going just for a drink or to look around?

Super friendly and attentive service. The food was very good. It's quite loud, though, which is to be expected in the city center and in such an open-plan restaurant. The prices are reasonable, and you get some unusual items for that.

Very tasty, everyone is super nice, and it's just so relaxed that everything is vegan. 🥰 Edit: Unfortunately, not everything is vegan anymore. The concept has been completely ruined by beef burgers, and unfortunately, some of the desserts are now only vegetarian. All the vegan options are still available, and everything is still great, but that relaxed "It's nice here, I can eat just about anything" vibe is unfortunately gone.

Very tasty sodas, which can also be ordered to go in glass bottles. The bowls and salads are very tasty. Unfortunately, the truffle burger is quite dry and not recommended. The service seemed a bit irritated at times. And when the place is full, it's very loud. I was there with about 10 people, which wasn't ideal. The food, for example, didn't arrive at the same time. The children's coloring pages were all dried-out and dented crayons. But overall, I would come back for a soda and a salad in a small group.

I'm taking this opportunity to inform all guests that this establishment probably only received so many positive reviews this way. Furthermore, it now only has one star instead of the original two. Furthermore, I will most likely have a lawyer clarify the legal situation to see if this might not be a case of defamation of character. Update 2 Following the owner's response: I didn't even write a text in my original review, I just rated your restaurant. Neither I nor my wife found the food particularly good; quite the opposite. For these prices, you'd expect a bit more. We understand that you pay a lot of rent for your restaurant in this location. Nevertheless, a text requesting that we write something would have been sufficient, rather than simply accusing us of defamation. That is clearly slander. However, due to your actions, we felt compelled to clarify this untruth. This resulted in the connotation of discrediting you. But that was absolutely not the case. Such behavior is hardly exemplary. Perhaps you should simply take this as an opportunity to reconsider your attitude towards baseless accusations. Best regards

It was always a great place for good, creative vegan food. After a few years, we were a bit disappointed to see that Hulala is no longer vegan. Despite the previously good selection and many positive reviews, beef burgers have been added to the menu… The remaining vegan burgers remain good, and so is the location. Update: There are fewer and fewer vegetarian and vegan options, making it difficult for us to determine whether something is vegan or contains meat. The pretzel buns are unfortunately not as tasty as the previous ones. Dessert is sometimes vegan, sometimes not. Basically, it's now a burger place like any other. A shame.

Unfortunately, I can't understand the good reviews either. The location looks great, no question, but the food is below average. The fries are bland, and my burger (vegan) didn't taste good. Unfortunately, I can't say much about the service, as you have to organize everything yourself (except for picking up and putting away)—but that's part of the concept.

Excellent place to eat and drink something

The absolutely tastiest burgers in town, and vegan to boot. We were absolutely thrilled. A very modern place with terminals and QR codes for ordering. But the staff were also extremely friendly, helpful, and extremely courteous, always willing to help. We'll definitely be back very, very soon 😊

We were in Düsseldorf one week on a whim and went in. The decor and ambiance are really nice if you visually ignore the ordering machines. You only come into contact with the staff when the food is brought to your table. There is no greeting or goodbye when you arrive or leave. If you don't want to order via the machine, you can use the QR code on the table with your smartphone. When you order, you are immediately paid and asked for a tip, even if you haven't had any contact with anyone. We opted for lemonade and iced tea. Not really convincing - the pomegranate iced tea tasted like Arizona with extra brown sugar (way too sweet). The burgers were BBQ smashed and pimento. Overall, unfortunately, just OK. The smashed patty was just hard, no longer really recognizable as meat, and very, very thin. The rest of the bun, toppings, and sauces were good. The air-fryer fries were really good, and so were the corn ribs.

Really good burgers and a simple, convenient ordering system that eases the workload for the wait staff. So, of course, it's not a full-service restaurant in the true sense of the word, but it's fun, quick, and most importantly, delicious. While fries would obviously taste even better fried in oil, that's ultimately in keeping with the concept of air fryers. However, I question whether all fries need parsley.

I'm incredibly disappointed! Yes, it was delicious, yes, it's beautiful there. But they now serve meat. I loved it so much that they only served vegan dishes. I felt so comfortable there. Now, for me, it's a restaurant like any other. Such a shame.

Very delicious food with a large vegetarian and vegan selection. You can order either directly at the ordering terminal or at your table using a QR code. The food arrived within a few minutes and was very fresh and hot. The desserts were also very tasty. Highly recommended!

During our dinner at Hulala, a row of tables was pushed together especially for our group of five. The servers were extremely friendly and helpful. The ambiance is fantastic. The vegan burgers, fries, and drinks were fantastic. After our meal, a server offered us the new vegan soft serve ice cream to try. He was right on two points: the pistachio sauce is the best, and we couldn't guess that the ice cream was made from lentils. We had a wonderful evening and would gladly come back. (My only criticism is that they now also offer meat burgers. I personally find this a bit unnecessary and not concept-friendly towards vegan customers. But that's about all there is to complain about.)

The food is delicious, attractively presented, and reasonably priced. The restaurant is modern and decorated with many beautiful details. You don't have to wait long for your food, and the staff is very friendly. It's definitely worth a visit, even for vegans and vegetarians.

It's good. Vegan burger patties are more like Aldi frikadelle style, but truffle potato balls are tight.

We were in Düsseldorf for a weekend and stumbled upon this place by chance. We don't understand the Google rating because the food is faaaaar too expensive and the portions are relatively small.
