I visited this shop for the first time today because my girlfriend and I happened to be in the area and were looking for something tasty. We had previously looked at two other shops in the neighborhood, but they didn't really impress us. I then found this shop via Google, and I have to say: I haven't regretted it to the last cent, as I've rarely eaten such a delicious burger. You could clearly taste the freshness and passion in the burger, from the bun to the lettuce to the patty. Add to that the really nice atmosphere: the waitress was very competent and dedicated, gave us great advice, and the grill master was also very friendly. You can immediately tell that everyone here wants their customers to be happy. We had sweet potato fries, which were solid; you can't go wrong with them. My girlfriend had a Caesar salad with crisp, fresh lettuce and breaded turkey breast strips, and I had the burger. The turkey breast strips were so delicious that we ordered an extra portion with just the strips. The meat was tender and juicy, and the breading was simply amazing. I'm someone who's hard to convince when it comes to hygiene, expertise, and passion, but this place impressed me across the board. I definitely recommend it!

I've been to this restaurant several times. Ordering is very straightforward. The server greets you in a cheerful and positive manner with a subtle, friendly sense of humor. If something isn't available, they'll tell you right from the start, and then the menu appears. (Lunch special from 12-15 noon) Then you're spoiled for choice, and once you've chosen a burger, you move on to a side dish and a drink. The sweet potato fries are my favorite. The classic fries are also fresh and crispy, salted but not overly salted, just the right amount. You can, of course, choose a salad, but I opted for a burger. I like the cheeseburger or the 4K Burger (4 cheeses), which is my favorite. Although I don't like arugula, I didn't notice the bitter taste. The onions and tomatoes, along with the cheese, rounded it out. There are three sizes and you can increase the size for an additional charge. 140g, 280g, or 420g burgers. They don't expand in width, but in height. That means for every 140g, there's an additional patty. Three desserts that were a bit too small for me, but after the Big Burger with three patties, they were the perfect size. The brownie with a lovely sour raspberry sauce, a counterpoint to the sweet brownie. The cheesecake with a passion fruit sauce, equally sweet and sour, a good contrast. The churros with cinnamon, crispy to eat, but if you find them too dry, you can order two sauces: chocolate or vanilla. I recommend vanilla, but it's a matter of taste. Afterward, I had an espresso with a delicious almond in a cocoa shell. It's definitely worth a visit. The shop isn't directly near the harbor, where several other well-known restaurants are located. Compared to the others, it's rather hidden. But it's not so bad, it's on the other side of the street. The prices are reasonable for the service and the taste. Great location. I'll be back!

If I could, I'd even give the service 6 stars. The guys were really super friendly and attentive, so you immediately felt at home. The selection and the food were also top-notch! The burger (avocado) was amazing, the patty really well seasoned. We had two burgers and fries. We waited a long time for our food, and by then, the problem had arisen: the special burger was out of stock – but the note about it was still attached to the menu. The burgers are always great! I've never eaten anything there that I didn't like. My partner was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. Shortly afterwards, gluten-free buns were introduced. The service staff is highly trained and also pointed out to us that, for example, the fries can be cross-contaminated because they are fried in the same fat as the onion rings. Big prop for that 👍🏻 Aside from the fries and onion rings, B&M also offers gluten-free side dishes. We eat there a lot and there has been no cross-contamination with the burgers or Seoul Bites. I think the kitchen pays a lot of attention to this.

However: we ordered our burgers medium and received them "well done", the burgers were taken back, which is very good, but then they were returned almost raw, which is not ideal for 2 medium steak burgers. Hello, on March 18, 2025 I spontaneously came up with the idea of ​​ordering two burgers. The store was moderately full, the waiting time was 40 minutes? To take with you? For that with a few fries I was out 40€. Honestly, I don't care about the amount, 40 minutes to take it with you? Then leave it! After 38 minutes I proactively went into the store. Tell them “your food is ready” after being asked to wait in front of the store, false alarm. Thanks but never again!!!!

Ate on site, burgers were very decent and tasty. Ordered the “Happy Honey Goat” salad to take away, unfortunately it was prepared without the caramelized peas. The disappointment only came when I opened the food :-/

The three of us spontaneously had lunch here this afternoon, absolutely delicious food and a good, varied selection of drinks. The store is also nicely and stylishly furnished, but I think some of the tables and chairs look a bit worn.

The burger was okay but the nachos were so bad. The cheese sauce was barely warm and the jalapenos were soft and flavourless. I told the server I didn't enjoy them and there was no apology and it wasn't removed from the bill.

Und an alle, die noch nicht dort waren, lasst mich folgendes sagen: Das Bob & Mary im Düsseldorfer Medienhafen ist ein echter Geheimtipp für alle, die auf das gewisse Extra stehen und dabei Lust auf richtig gute, amerikanische Küche haben! Hier gibt’s keine halben Sachen: Die Burger, die Sides, die frischen Salate – alles wird mit Liebe und regionalen Zutaten frisch zubereitet und ist einfach ein Gedicht. Das moderne, stilvolle Ambiente und die herzliche Art des Teams runden das Erlebnis ab. Wenn ihr das Glück habt, draußen auf der Terrasse zu sitzen, habt ihr obendrauf noch eine fast perfekte Aussicht auf den Funkturm. Und noch ein großes Plus: Im Bob & Mary sind auch die Kleinen bestens aufgehoben. Der Laden ist super familienfreundlich, und die Kleinen fühlen sich hier genauso wohl wie die Großen – sei es beim Essen oder einfach im gemütlichen Ambiente. Die Karte ist überschaubar, aber lässt keine Wünsche offen – und nein, hier findet ihr nichts, vor dem man sich fürchten müsste! Besonders toll: Viele Gerichte sind auch in vegetarischer, veganer und glutenfreier Variante erhältlich. Gerade für meine Freundin, die eine starke Form von Zöliakie hat, war das der absolute Knaller. Das Team ist super aufmerksam und kennt sich mit glutenfreien Optionen aus. Als meine Freundin ihre Zöliakie erwähnte, hat der Kellner sofort das Besteck am Tisch gegen frisches aus der Küche getauscht – so viel Sorgfalt sieht man selten! Auch auf die Details wird geachtet: Der glutenfreie BBQ-Burger meiner Freundin wurde auf einem runden Teller mit Markierung serviert, während mein Burger auf einem eckigen Teller kam – sogar der Service achtete darauf, die Gerichte vorsichtig zu überreichen, um jegliche Kontamination zu vermeiden. Da merkt man einfach: Hier steht der Gast absolut im Mittelpunkt. Zu Trinken gibt's hier sogar Elephant Bay Eisteee. Da Bob & Mary aus Platzgründen leider keine getrennten Fritteusen hat, könnt ihr euch ihr keine Fritten gönnen, wenn ihr Zöliakie habt. Deswegen wurde uns der hausgemacht Gurkensalat und Coleslaw empfholen. Wir entschieden uns für den Coleslaw – und der war einfach nur himmlisch, und hat uns echt umgehauen! Frisch, knackig, würzig – das war eine geniale Alternative. Was soll ich sagen? Ihr wart das erste Restaurant, das wir seit der Zöliakie-Diagnose meiner Freundin und ich besucht haben, bei dem wir komplett unbeschwert genießen konnten. Das Team ist weltklasse, und der „Majestro am Herd“ – bringt echten Genuss auf die Teller die er mit Herzblut und Liebe zubereitet. Diesen Service der Extraklasse erwartet man in einem Michelin Restaurant, aber nicht im Bob & Mary - das war ganz großes Kino! Wir kommen garantiert sehr gerne wieder! Und ja natürlich gibt's auch ein paar winzige Kleinigkeiten die meine Freundin sich wünschen würde, die kein Muss sind, aber fantastisch wären. Was meine Freundin sich aufgrund ihrer starken Zölikieerkrankung wünschen würde, wären 3 zusätzliche Getränke für eine Speisekarte. Ein prickelnder Cider von Somersby und ein kühles Natural Radler in glutenfrei von Schleicher und ein herzhaftes Bier von Lammsbräu in glutenfrei. Da diese 3 alkoholischen Getränke absolut unbedenklich sind und glutenfrei sind. Außerdem sind diese von den meisten Menschen mit Zöliakie geliebt und beliebt, weil die Getränke etwas Normalität zurrückgeben und man mit ihnen unbeschwert mit Freunden und der Familie anstoßen kann. Daher wäre es wirklich toll, wenn ihr als einer de wenigen Restaurants diese Getränke im Sortiment hättet. Da ich mitbekommen habe, das Bob & Mary eine echte Anlufstelle für Menschen mit Zöliakie geworden ist, wäre es wirklich genial, wenn ihr eine extra "glutenfreie Speisekarte" hättet auf der nur eure Speisen und Getränke drauf stehen, die glutenfrei sind. Auch wenn dies in der Erstellung einmal aufwendig ist, kann dies an einem Abend wenn euer Restaurant sehr voll ist, eure Servicekräfte tatkräftig entlasten.

Very tasty vegan and vegetarian alternatives

An einem Montagabend besuchten das Bob & Mary im Medienhafen. Drinnen war es ziemlich voll und wir waren froh, einen Tisch reserviert zu haben. Wir haben uns erst Mal ein-zwei Bier und einen Cocktail als Aperitif gegönnt. Der sehr aufmerksame Service war nur ein Augenzucken entfernt :-) Wir bestellten als Vorspeise die Onionrings und die Seoul Bites. Die Rings waren geschmacklich jetzt nicht wirklich spannend, auch das Aioli war etwas zu dünn. Bei der zweiten Vorspeise handelte es sich um knusprige, marinierte Chicken Tenders, die wirklich lecker waren. Die Portion war groß und scharf waren sie auch, die Mayo kam aber nicht durch. Zum Hauptgang wählten wir, natürlich, zwei Burger. Zum einen den Cheeseburger, der etwas langweilig schmeckte. Zum Zweiten den Blue Cheese Burger, der einfach nur toll schmeckt. Ein geiler Burger! Ein Dessert geht ja immer und orderten wir den Brownie mit Himbeersauce. Dieser war ganz okay. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend. Besonders gut hat uns der sehr aufmerksame Service gefallen! So muss das sein!

Very kind waiters and waitresses. The food was good. I tried a burger with blue cheese, a very good choice, in my opinion. The meat was tastefull and the combination with the hit of the blue cheese was perfect. I also ordered nachos. In this case, I have to say that wasn't a good choice. Doritos-kind triangles, not bad by themselves, but then covered with a cheese sauce very salty. I don't like to leave food on the plate, but this time was challenging. I recommend to avoid the nachos, focus on the burgers. I also tried the sweet potatoes. I highly recommend theses ones. Crunchy and tasteful. I would come back to this restaurant.

The burger, fries and homemade sauces are extremely tasty and creative. A visit is always fun. However, a lot of time has to be allowed for, as the preparation of the food (for us as an example) took 1h 15. If you combine your visit with a visit to the cinema in the UCI, you should take this into account.
