Bob & Mary in Düsseldorf

Meine Freundin und ich waren gestern Abend im Bob & Mary. Wir sind extra aus Wuppertal angereist, da meine Freundin über die Empfehlung in der App "Find Me Glutenfree" auf das Bob & Mary gestoßen ist. Und an alle, die noch nicht dort waren, lasst mich folgendes sagen: Das Bob & Mary im Düsseldorfer Medienhafen ist ein echter Geheimtipp für alle, die auf das gewisse Extra stehen und dabei Lust auf richtig gute, amerikanische Küche haben! Hier gibt’s keine halben Sachen: Die Burger, die Sides, die frischen Salate – alles wird mit Liebe und regionalen Zutaten frisch zubereitet und ist einfach ein Gedicht. Das moderne, stilvolle Ambiente und die herzliche Art des Teams runden das Erlebnis ab. Wenn ihr das Glück habt, draußen auf der Terrasse zu sitzen, habt ihr obendrauf noch eine fast perfekte Aussicht auf den Funkturm. Und noch ein großes Plus: Im Bob & Mary sind auch die Kleinen bestens aufgehoben. Der Laden ist super familienfreundlich, und die Kleinen fühlen sich hier genauso wohl wie die Großen – sei es beim Essen oder einfach im gemütlichen Ambiente. Die Karte ist überschaubar, aber lässt keine Wünsche offen – und nein, hier findet ihr nichts, vor dem man sich fürchten müsste! Besonders toll: Viele Gerichte sind auch in vegetarischer, veganer und glutenfreier Variante erhältlich. Gerade für meine Freundin, die eine starke Form von Zöliakie hat, war das der absolute Knaller. Das Team ist super aufmerksam und kennt sich mit glutenfreien Optionen aus. Als meine Freundin ihre Zöliakie erwähnte, hat der Kellner sofort das Besteck am Tisch gegen frisches aus der Küche getauscht – so viel Sorgfalt sieht man selten! Auch auf die Details wird geachtet: Der glutenfreie BBQ-Burger meiner Freundin wurde auf einem runden Teller mit Markierung serviert, während mein Burger auf einem eckigen Teller kam – sogar der Service achtete darauf, die Gerichte vorsichtig zu überreichen, um jegliche Kontamination zu vermeiden. Da merkt man einfach: Hier steht der Gast absolut im Mittelpunkt. Zu Trinken gibt's hier sogar Elephant Bay Eisteee. Da Bob & Mary aus Platzgründen leider keine getrennten Fritteusen hat, könnt ihr euch ihr keine Fritten gönnen, wenn ihr Zöliakie habt. Deswegen wurde uns der hausgemacht Gurkensalat und Coleslaw empfholen. Wir entschieden uns für den Coleslaw – und der war einfach nur himmlisch, und hat uns echt umgehauen! Frisch, knackig, würzig – das war eine geniale Alternative. Was soll ich sagen? Ihr wart das erste Restaurant, das wir seit der Zöliakie-Diagnose meiner Freundin und ich besucht haben, bei dem wir komplett unbeschwert genießen konnten. Das Team ist weltklasse, und der „Majestro am Herd“ – bringt echten Genuss auf die Teller die er mit Herzblut und Liebe zubereitet. Diesen Service der Extraklasse erwartet man in einem Michelin Restaurant, aber nicht im Bob & Mary - das war ganz großes Kino! Wir kommen garantiert sehr gerne wieder! Und ja natürlich gibt's auch ein paar winzige Kleinigkeiten die meine Freundin sich wünschen würde, die kein Muss sind, aber fantastisch wären. Was meine Freundin sich aufgrund ihrer starken Zölikieerkrankung wünschen würde, wären 3 zusätzliche Getränke für eine Speisekarte. Ein prickelnder Cider von Somersby und ein kühles Natural Radler in glutenfrei von Schleicher und ein herzhaftes Bier von Lammsbräu in glutenfrei. Da diese 3 alkoholischen Getränke absolut unbedenklich sind und glutenfrei sind. Außerdem sind diese von den meisten Menschen mit Zöliakie geliebt und beliebt, weil die Getränke etwas Normalität zurrückgeben und man mit ihnen unbeschwert mit Freunden und der Familie anstoßen kann. Daher wäre es wirklich toll, wenn ihr als einer de wenigen Restaurants diese Getränke im Sortiment hättet. Da ich mitbekommen habe, das Bob & Mary eine echte Anlufstelle für Menschen mit Zöliakie geworden ist, wäre es wirklich genial, wenn ihr eine extra "glutenfreie Speisekarte" hättet auf der nur eure Speisen und Getränke drauf stehen, die glutenfrei sind. Auch wenn dies in der Erstellung einmal aufwendig ist, kann dies an einem Abend wenn euer Restaurant sehr voll ist, eure Servicekräfte tatkräftig entlasten.

An einem Montagabend besuchten das Bob & Mary im Medienhafen. Drinnen war es ziemlich voll und wir waren froh, einen Tisch reserviert zu haben. Wir haben uns erst Mal ein-zwei Bier und einen Cocktail als Aperitif gegönnt. Der sehr aufmerksame Service war nur ein Augenzucken entfernt :-) Wir bestellten als Vorspeise die Onionrings und die Seoul Bites. Die Rings waren geschmacklich jetzt nicht wirklich spannend, auch das Aioli war etwas zu dünn. Bei der zweiten Vorspeise handelte es sich um knusprige, marinierte Chicken Tenders, die wirklich lecker waren. Die Portion war groß und scharf waren sie auch, die Mayo kam aber nicht durch. Zum Hauptgang wählten wir, natürlich, zwei Burger. Zum einen den Cheeseburger, der etwas langweilig schmeckte. Zum Zweiten den Blue Cheese Burger, der einfach nur toll schmeckt. Ein geiler Burger! Ein Dessert geht ja immer und orderten wir den Brownie mit Himbeersauce. Dieser war ganz okay. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend. Besonders gut hat uns der sehr aufmerksame Service gefallen! So muss das sein!

So far we have only ever picked up food but are always very satisfied with the service and the waiting time and also with the quality of the burgers. We like the fries best - they are always really crispy.

The food was very tasty and of high quality. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is lovingly furnished, but the entrance door, especially if you sit at the front, slams very loudly when customers come in and out. I would like some cushioning here. Otherwise it's really great and I'd love to come back.

The staff was so incredibly nice!! I would give even more stars for that!!! We spontaneously got a table even though everything was fully booked. Food was very good, wishes and allergies were taken seriously and prepared quickly. Best store I've been to in a long time, we'll be back!

We had dinner there on Monday evening. Very nice staff and really tasty food. The sweet potato fries are an absolute recommendation, as are the burgers. A visit here is worth it! 😊

Very kind waiters and waitresses. The food was good. I tried a burger with blue cheese, a very good choice, in my opinion. The meat was tastefull and the combination with the hit of the blue cheese was perfect. I also ordered nachos. In this case, I have to say that wasn't a good choice. Doritos-kind triangles, not bad by themselves, but then covered with a cheese sauce very salty. I don't like to leave food on the plate, but this time was challenging. I recommend to avoid the nachos, focus on the burgers. I also tried the sweet potatoes. I highly recommend theses ones. Crunchy and tasteful. I would come back to this restaurant.

The burger, fries and homemade sauces are extremely tasty and creative. A visit is always fun. However, a lot of time has to be allowed for, as the preparation of the food (for us as an example) took 1h 15. If you combine your visit with a visit to the cinema in the UCI, you should take this into account.

The two of us ate there yesterday; I already knew the shop from the old town. I was in the restaurant at the medienhafen for the first time yesterday. I'm really amazed at how much better the meat tastes here compared to the old town, really juicy and fresh. Thanks also to the Asian lady from the service for the great service and thanks to the kitchen for the amazing food! I'll just come here now.

Bob & Mary is consistently perfect. Still the best burger for me!! The burgers here are always excellent, the meat is tender and fluffy (not as tightly packed as with others), the toppings are generous and the sweet potato fries are crispy (the truffle mayo tastes perfect with this). Always a pleasure!

Everything was very well maintained and the waitress was super nice. The food was really tasty.

I’ve been here twice and the first time I went, I ordered Sweet Goat. That was good. The second time, I got Mary’s Truffle Dream and it tasted great. I’d order it again. The sides are also good! The interior is nice and it can be a nice place for a date. The wallpaper of their toilets look fancy.

I went to Bob and Mary yesterday and I have to say it was a fantastic experience! The employees there are not only incredibly cool, but also extremely friendly and helpful. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile and immediately felt welcome. The service was top – fast, professional and at the same time very personal. You can really tell that the people here are passionate about their job and that is reflected in the atmosphere. Bob and Mary is definitely more than just a burger joint - it's a place where you feel comfortable. I'll definitely be back! Many thanks to the entire team for the great experience! 👏

Nice burger shop with a manageable selection of burgers. The Classic with bacon was good. Not outstanding, but quite good. The potato dippers were also tasty, but not a mix of fries and chips (as described on the menu). Overall, good average, but nothing more. The staff was attentive and friendly (high praise), but that's not why you would go there again The restaurant itself, however, was clean, although the concept did not seem clearly enforced. Conclusion: Quite good, but not completely convincing.

You can sit outside very nicely, but the atmosphere inside is also great. The food was excellent and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. 100% recommendation!

Super lovely waitress & great food!

I discovered the shop through the reviews and thought it would be a good place for a business lunch. The service is super friendly, adapted to the ambience and very fast. After we ate the very tasty burgers (Sweet Goat 5/5*) and fries (I absolutely recommend the sweet potato fries with lime mayo), we each ordered a round of drinks. I would personally rate the homemade lemonade with 4/5 stars - but it is still better than any other soft drink available there. If you plan to visit the Media Harbor and get hungry, you can eat very well there for around €25 per person. In general, Bob & Mary can definitely be recommended!

It was a very nice evening with a delicious burger. The fries were very good and made from whole potatoes. The two waitresses that evening were outstanding; they were very attentive and extremely friendly and communicative.

Fantastic hamburgers for reasonable prices. It started raining, so they helped us to relocate to a new table inside. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant seemed very populated, so I can imagine that it could be somewhat difficult to get a free table during peak-hours.

Super friendly staff. All wishes are taken into account and the burgers taste excellent, very juicy, well topped and simply delicious.

The service is outstanding. You immediately notice how much the employees have fun there. The Cheese Lover Burger was good but not outstanding. Sweet Potato Fries and Onion Rings were also good. Atmosphere is also great.

One of the best burgers I've had in Düsseldorf. All the waiters were very friendly and attentive, the food arrived very quickly. Quite extensive menu. The fries and burgers we ordered were very good. I recommend the Trüffeltraum. Highly recommended!!!!

My wife and I were regulars and big fans for several years until she developed a gluten intolerance and we had to look for other restaurants. Well, after a 2-year break, we are incredibly happy that you have supplemented and further developed your concept with so many gluten-free alternatives. You also succeeded in implementing it - you feel very safe and the gluten-free rolls simply taste like “real ones”. Please keep it up so we can become regular guests again! The burgers, the homemade lemonade, the potato dippers and the service are, just like 8 years ago, simply unrivaled and terrific.

Very good burgers and fries. The staff is super nice. You smell a bit of fries when you leave the restaurant, but in summer you can also sit outside.

French fries very dark, partly. sizzled, and greasy. Burger with pulled pork for €14.90 (no side dish, comes extra) very small and not very substantial, comparable in size to a McDonalds hamburger. Price-performance ratio outrageous. Cesar salad tastes ok, but no croutons, instead it comes with toasted bread. I've had better experiences there before.

Good place for a quick burger which can be customised for vegetarians/vegans as well. Delicious sides and the homemade lemonade was refreshing.

Personal recommendation: fries! With 3 dips of your choice - they were also good. The cucumber salad was tasty, but there was too much oil for my taste. What should be highlighted is the super nice service. We sat outside in the best weather, so no opinion on the ambience.

Update 03/2024: Finally new, clever knives :) now all that's left is to finally adjust the door closer. Still great food there. ___ The best burger shop in NRW. Nowhere else does the meat melt in your mouth like this. Sauces partly self-made as well as the lemonade. Staff friendly.

Definitely one of the good burger places in Düsseldorf located in the Media Harbour. Great taste and choice and, during lunchtime you can go for the business lunch which includes a Drink and Side Dish for just an additional €2 to the burger price. There's also always a weekly special. I like the Mary likes Avocado variation (pictured).

Had lunch there today with 4 people, the shop looks cozy, the burgers were very good, and the kitchen staff were really quick, which was good because we didn't have much time. The only thing I have to complain about is that the young waitress with the glasses folded a burger that had fallen apart back together with her hands and put the cucumbers and tomatoes that had fallen out back in with her hand, her hands were definitely not clean it looked really unappetizing. She also smelled a lot like cigarettes. But otherwise a top restaurant and great service and kitchen workers who prepare super tasty and good-looking people.

The vegan burgers taste okay. Not worth the long journey, but you can do it after going to the cinema or something similar. In any case, both vegan burgers wouldn't be in our top 20 of the ones we've ever eaten.

An absolutely solid, good burger shop. The cheeseburger wasn't great, but it was good. The sides are okay in size. The prices are a little higher. The service was very courteous and nice.

In my opinion, Bob & Mary is one of the best burger restaurants in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. A little higher in price, but definitely worth every cent. During my lunch break I had a quick sweet goat (naked) with sweet potato fries and Joppie sauce. It was very tasty and I always like to come back. The restaurant at the Medienhafen is a bit small, hence the 4|5 stars.

Tolles Restaurant mit netten Mitarbeitern und leckerem Essen. Ich war hier Nachmittags und es waren noch ein paar Tische frei. Die Burger sind alle lecker und die Churros als Nachtisch sind auch sehr empfehlenswert. Das Restaurant ist nicht günstig aber sehr lecker.

Waren am Freitag da und essen war überragend! Bin extra von Freiburg angereist, um die phänomenalen Burger zu probieren. Besonders überzeugen waren auch die rothaarige Köchin und der nette Service vor Ort. Große Düsseldorf Empfehlung!

Kleiner Burgerladen, der aber zu den besten Düsseldorfs gehört. Hervorragender, aufmerksamer Service und extrem leckere Burger. Einziger (sehr individueller) Kritikpunkt: Tannenzäpfle Bier als einziges angebotenes Pils trifft meinen Geschmack nicht so wirklich.
