Hotel Tannenhof in Bad Harzburg

We stayed here for two days. We received a very friendly welcome, and all our needs were quickly addressed. The rooms are rustic yet modern. Very fitting for the Harz Mountains, I'd say. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and we were immediately provided with a highchair upon request. The thermal baths, which were included in the price, were also lovely—a bit tucked away, but well-signposted. All in all, a great experience.

A fantastic family-run hotel with incredibly good food and top-notch service. Plus, access to the SoleTherme spa is included, making for a thoroughly enjoyable stay on the edge of the Harz Mountains. Anyone who wants to hike, explore, or ride a motorcycle is in excellent hands here. Thanks to the entire team for a wonderful time.

We like to stay here occasionally for 2-3 nights. Most recently, on August 25th. The rooms at the Tannenhof, a mix of old and renovated—you can't be too demanding or picky—are fine. We like the side facing the hustle and bustle. The wonderful murmur drowns out street noise. We always slept well. We had fellow guests who kept quiet at night. Only in hot weather does it feel like an incubator, so portable air conditioning units should be available. Mosquito nets would be great. Ashtrays, or even allowing smoking on the balconies, is generally a very bad idea!!! The breakfast, a bit cramped at the buffet, is simple but good. Tip: They're missing regular, unsweetened oatmeal and pumpkin seeds. The saltwater thermal bath is nicely modernized. It's not big, and we were lucky that it wasn't that crowded. Unfortunately, the prices have gone up, like everywhere else. We, a couple in our 50s, would love to come back.... A. + P. Gräber

This is my third time staying at the Tannenhof. I stayed in a standard single room twice. They're rather old-fashioned and showing their age, but they're incredibly comfortable and clean, and the beds are perfect; I sleep soooo well! Once I had a deluxe double room, which was super modern and completely new, but correspondingly more expensive. For what you get for the price (today, €107 including breakfast and spa entry), the hotel is truly top-notch. When I read such negative reviews here: It always depends on what I expect, of course. The spa isn't ultra-modern or huge, but it has everything you need for a great girls' weekend. I also really enjoyed the breakfast every time. The breakfast room has also been renovated and is modern and cozy.

Overpriced for really dated rooms with no comfort factor and access to a terrible thermal spa. Bathrobes and towels cost extra, and the staff seem constantly stressed. Not really worth it.

Hello everyone, I am writing about this hotel, I had a charger for iPhone 16 that I left in the room and then I gave a paper to clean the hotel and in the end they stole my charger, thank God I did not leave my laptop or valuable things, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Many thanks to everyone at Hotel Tannenhof. I was only there for four days in June, but it was wonderful. The service is truly exceptional. Access to the saltwater pool is really easy. The rooms are beautifully designed and perfectly equipped. The breakfast buffet was perfect every day. I have no complaints and will definitely be back. To the team, I'll say: see you soon.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The staff was consistently very friendly and accommodating. We were particularly impressed by the food - rich, tasty and with great details such as bacon cooked in two stages (yum, extra crispy!). The location is also ideal. The connected brine thermal bath had light and shadow. The brine bath itself was rather average and we lacked a really hot pool. The saunas were great! There was an infusion every hour, and the snow sauna was a highlight. Unfortunately it was a bit confusing at first as there was no plan in place. But once you found your way around, you could relax wonderfully. Overall, a great stay with little room for improvement - we'd love to come back! 😊

We stayed in this very nice rustic hotel for three nights. I was surprised at how friendly we were received and our every wish was fulfilled. The room was very clean and newly furnished with everything you could want. Breakfast was varied and sufficient. Thermal bag and access was great. If you think that doesn't exist, go there and see for yourself. All I can say is a really nice long weekend. Thank you very much

Never again in this hotel. The room was so old that you immediately felt uncomfortable. The windows were so leaky that there was a draft and you could hear the cars very loudly. The breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired. There was the bare necessities. Fresh croissants out of place We definitely won't come back.

The rooms are older but still have their charm. The restaurant area is truly romantic and rustically decorated. We always enjoyed playing billiards and darts in the evenings. The entire staff is very friendly. The thermal baths are easily accessible via an outside bridge, with a bathrobe corridor and a private thermal bath entrance. The hotel is in a great location. Many attractions are within easy walking distance. We would love to come back!

We spent a few days at the Solehotel Tannenhof from Saturday to Wednesday. The food was absolutely excellent and very varied – definitely highly recommended. Unfortunately, we had a major problem with our room, number 18. The room was extremely noisy, as it is located on a busy highway. From the early morning hours, the trucks were clearly audible. Furthermore, the room is located directly next to the stairs, so you can hear not only the people upstairs, but also the use of the stairs. However, this has nothing to do with old-world charm. The room itself was very well maintained, and the mattress, which was initially uncomfortable, could be adjusted by turning it, which solved the problem. After the first two nights, we were allowed to move to a better room for one night. The contrast was tremendous, and we were finally able to rest. So we decided to spend another night in room 18 – a total mistake. The room is so thin that the crying of a child woke us up at 4:15 a.m. After a brief attempt to fall asleep again, we were woken up again by the noise, this time from the trucks. On the day of our departure, we were completely exhausted from this restless night. It's sad that this room is even offered. It desperately needs better insulation on all sides. If we were to visit this hotel again, it would only be in one of the deluxe rooms, where you can truly relax. The hotel manager was very accommodating, allowing us to truly unwind for two days. However, the end of our vacation was a disaster. You can relax much better in a tent or a youth hostel than in Room 18. I would also like to note that most of the staff are very friendly and know their job. The hotel manager's actions were also very good. If you have any problems, you should contact the staff directly, as most will try to find solutions or lend a listening ear. The value for money in the food department is definitely good – it's really very good. Due to the circumstances, which can only be partially influenced by the staff, I give the hotel 1 out of 5 stars because they really made an effort.

We stayed here for 5 days in the suite with 3/4 board. It was really great. The food was, as described, very, very tasty. The thermal baths are located behind the hotel. The staff were super friendly and very child-friendly. It's very central. Our little one was also very warmly welcomed in the thermal baths. The thermal baths were just a bit too cold for us. Both the water and the relaxation room. Nevertheless, I have to say, we felt really comfortable here. The room is rustic, but it has everything you need. It was a lovely week. We'd love to go back again sometime when the child is older 😅 It was well worth it for us.

I have been to the Hotel Tannenhof several times and am thrilled every time. The food is excellent and the service is very friendly and personal. Something special is the direct access to the thermal baths, for which admission is included.

The restaurant area has been attractively renovated. The food is delicious and prepared with a lot of skill. The bathrobe corridor is unprotected outside. The changing room was functional and quite cold. Recommended for severely disabled people. You have to be able to climb stairs well as the elevator doesn't stop all the time. Overall, a pleasant week. We plan to come back.

Were there for 2 days. Anyone who likes it rustic and cozy is in good hands here. The room faced the street, but we found it comfortable and there was enough space. In front of the hotel there is a large public parking lot and a busy street and behind the hotel it is quiet and there is a small river or stream. There are parking spaces for hotel guests, but everything is very tight. The room was clean and so was the shower. There is an elevator in the hotel. Direct access to the thermal baths. You have to go outside, but you can get there directly via a back entrance. The sauna is a matter of taste, but we liked it. The food in the hotel is excellent! Nice staff! All in all a pleasant stay.

Once and never again. The hotel and facilities are getting old, the only nice thing was the stream behind the house. It smells musty in the house. Breakfast in pensioner style, if you expect a modern selection of food, you shouldn't go to Bad Harzburg. Communication with employees: difficult. We spent €200 on this: what a shame.

Everything OK, good food, good conversations with the staff

The hotel is located in a very noisy area, with a loud stream/river at the back and a busy street at the front. We had a large, fairly clean room/2 rooms that showed clear signs of wear. In your own home, 3-4 renovation cycles would have been skipped. The shower was tiny but warm. The thermal baths, which can be used freely during opening times, were ok, but not really worth recommending. The food in the restaurant is very good, good German cuisine is served without any experiments. You should be able to walk easily to the hotel as there is no elevator. As in many hotels in this price range, the staff is nice.

We spent a wonderful little break at the Hotel Tannenhof. From the friendliness and competence of all employees to the excellent food, 3/4 board is highly recommended, simply fantastic. A 1/2 point deduction due to the choice of food at the 3/4 board. Not quite so cheap for picky eaters with some intolerances. However, you could also choose something from the menu. The food itself was fantastic. Hotel very quaint, not a super modern, stylish atmosphere. Fortunately! Staff across the board were very friendly, nice and attentive. Location very central. It is a family-run hotel. There's a lot of heart and soul in this. There are different room categories. Junior suites, double rooms and soon also deluxe double rooms. What's really nice is the connection to the brine thermal baths, which we used extensively because of the weather. Our wishes were fulfilled, even though employees had to start work earlier. Thank you again for that! The food is very good, no wish is too much here either. The service is friendly and fast (both at reception and in service). The hotel is the ideal starting point for adventures. There are enough parking spaces available. There are 2 electric charging stations in front of the sister hotel next door. Unfortunately, these were often occupied by petrol engines, so that they were not available for refueling. There is also a room in the sister hotel where board games, a table football table and a pool table are available for use. Thank you for the lovely family break. We will be back. The next vacation is already booked 😁

Dear team from Solehotel Tannenhof, Thanks for a great stay! As soon as I arrived I was greeted by an extremely friendly and courteous reception team. The familiar atmosphere and the inviting ambience immediately made me feel at home. The tasteful modern furnishings of the room exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness and comfort made me feel like I was in a real home away from home. Every meal was a culinary delight. The ¾ board with the three-course menu that changes every evening is particularly recommended. The hotel's own thermal bath access is of course the absolute highlight! The saunas, pools and massages were perfect for revitalizing the body and mind. The view from the wellness area of ​​the Bad Harzburg nature and the castle hill also contributed to my relaxation. Overall, I can unreservedly recommend the Solehotel Tannenhof. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I don't even know how to start I'm just shocked! A certain lady in this hotel should work on her friendliness towards the guests! Or consider whether she missed the job. In my opinion, customers are king. We come from further away and don't know each other. When asked where the chunk was and how best to reach it, the lady only replied: Are you kidding me!!!! And then laugh at us too! So sorry, that kind of behavior doesn't work at all. In general she comes across as very annoyed and it's best not to talk to her at all. When a man at the table next to us tipped over a glass, she was really angry and annoyed and complained to the man, sorry, but that's not possible! In the evening we wanted to have something to drink. Then she just said that she was already off work! Hello, it's the weekend and 9 p.m We then said that we just wanted to take something to drink back to the room. Then she rolled her eyes again and told us we could go to the gas station. The drinks would be too expensive here. It's probably up to us where we buy the drinks. If you don't want to make money please. Then, annoyed, she gave us a small cola and a small non-carbonated Fanta. Honestly unbelievable. I would like to give 0 stars just because of this lady. But dinner was delicious and I'm looking forward to breakfast tomorrow morning, after all a lot has already been laid out this evening. The rooms are very old and the mattresses are worn out.

Sehr zu empfehlen.... wir waren schon zum 3x da und werden im Nov. wiederkommen.... nettes Personal.... leckeres Frühstücksbuffet..... saubere Zimmer..... alles super....

Da ich im dazugehörenden Haus Winterberg gewohnt habe, kann ich die Zimmer nicht beurteilen. Aber ich habe im Restaurant des Tannenhofes Halbpension genossen. Das Frühstücksbüffet war ausgesprochen reichhaltig und gut. Die Kaffeemaschine machte für jeden Geschmack richtig guten Kaffee. Das Abendessen war sehr gute Sterneküche, sowohl in der Zusammensetzung wie auch der Präsentation. Das Personal war ausgesprochen aufmerksam, und sehr freundlich. Leider liegen beide Häuser an einer viel befahrenen Straße. Doch in der Nacht ist kaum Verkehr, und die Fenster waren super schallisoliert. Immer wieder gerne!

Ruhig und gemütliches Hotel direkt am Berg gelegen, welcher mit Gondel oder zu Fuß erklommen werden kann. Als Gast kann man auch ins nebengelegene Solebad samt Sauna gehen. Das Solebad ist recht überschaubar aber die Sauna ist gut.

Ich habe 4 Nächte im Hotel verbracht und bin begeistert! Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind einfach aber gemütlich eingerichtet, wie man es von 3 Sterne Hotels kennt. Aber das Essen, welches die Chefin kreiert und zubereitet, spielt in einer viel höheren Liga. Ich bin beruflich und privat viel unterwegs, und so ein Niveau ist selbst bei viel "besseren" Hotels keineswegs Standard. Ob Kalbsschnitzel, Lachs oder Vegetarische Menüs - Alles war kreativ zusammengestellt, perfekt zubereitet und von hoher Qualität! Ein weiteres Highlight ist die l Freundlichkeit des Personals. Es mus ein tolles Arbeitsklima herrschen, so dass man sich als Gast einfach nur wohlfühlt. Die Therme habe ich nicht genutzt, habe aber von anderen Gästen gehört, dass sie ihnen gefallen hat. Großes Lob und vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!

Cafe und Restaurant nur für Hotelgäste? Warum? Aber offenbar kann es dem Hotelier nicht schlecht gehen, wenn er auf Gäste verzichten kann.

We were an indecisive bunch and one of us needed changes to a meal due to food intolerances. But the staff took it in their stride with good humour. The food was tasty and the portion sizes generous. A lovely evening.

The restaurant is part of hotel Tannehof, but welcomes everyone. We stayed for 4 days and had dinner here 3 days. The food is well cooked and in good harmony. Portions are good sized. The prices are a bit over the average, but it is certainly worth it. Highly reccomendable.
