Today we visited here to treat ourselves to a hot mulled wine to go. As usual from our previous visits, the quality and price were absolutely OK and the young man in service was super nice and quick. As always everything is great and see you soon! Of course we had to have dinner soon and we were served really good food with roast and kree meat. Great and see you soon!

Nice place to sit for a short beer, but sadly the beer was not cold. We had two different beers and both were quite warm. Wouldn't come back, cause of that.

After all, beer is delicious The french fries also had a good potato flavor. The potato dumplings had an indescribable rubber-like elasticity that didn't suit me. The waiter's brother was kind and gave me a good impression.

We had something to drink in the outdoor restaurant. The restaurant is on a street corner and cars, motorcycles and bicycles drive right past the seating area.

Definitely worth visiting and dining a full German cultural and culinary experience. Very pleasant staff and service with patience for my English and small amount of German. Also, the food tasted phenomenal for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is quintessential Franconia, Germany.

Delicious food, were there for the Sandkerwa, had sauerbraten. Beer poured poorly.

We wanted to have a little something to drink and eat there and just sat down in a free place and were immediately insulted and asked if we were new. We saw afterwards that we would have had to wait until the place was assigned to us. You could have said that in a friendly way.

When the weather is nice, it's best to sit outside. We did a city tour and decided on the Hofbräu. There are many nice restaurants. The food was very good for us. The crusty roast with savoy cabbage was particularly popular. I wanted something from the region that I can only recommend. I also had a smoked beer which goes really well here from the region. The venison sausage that my wife ordered is also good. I can only recommend the city and the restaurant. It's worth it here. We will definitely come back.

There is good home cooking here. The food tasted good and the service was quick and friendly. If you want a hearty meal, this is the right place for you.

The food is regional and good, but not outstanding or special and, compared to other restaurants in the surrounding area, not worth more than a visit. Price/performance is okay and the selection on the menu is limited to the regional standard. Due to Bamberg's charm, the ambience outside is worlds better than inside, and sometimes very crowded.

Visit on Thursday, June 20th evening During our 3-day stay in Bamberg, we noticed the Hofbräu in Bamberg and decided to stop there. The Hofbräu von Bamberg is in a good location in the old town of Bamberg and has existed for 25 years. When we asked for a table, we were assigned one because it was free at the time - important for later events. An order: > Colamix 0.4l for €4.50 > Inge (Prosecco spritzer with ginger syrup & lime) 0.2l for €7.50 > Liver dumpling soup (bouillon of boiled beef with homemade liver dumplings) for €6.40 > small wild herb salad with baguette for €4.50 > Side salad with the main course for €3.50 > Crusty roast from Franconian pork with savoy cabbage and dumpling for €16.80 > Dumpling with sauce for €5.80 Food was good so far, but while we were eating, an employee came and suddenly placed a reserved sign on our table with the time 6 p.m. without saying anything. Less than 3 minutes later, another employee came, also took the reserved sign and changed the time by another half hour, to 5:30 p.m., again without telling us anything. We found the entire process very inhospitable and subsequently decided not to order dessert or anything similar because the restaurant apparently planned differently. Therefore, there are big deductions in the service note because you can actually communicate this with the guest.

Everything is just right: a cafe during the day, then a bit of a pub (you meet at the bar), a (good Franconian) restaurant for lunch and dinner, fancy a cocktail? Casual, pleasant atmosphere within historic walls, outdoor spaces available. Staff competent, Hansi, the landlord, is an original. Absolutely centrally located in the middle of the historic old town, direct connection to public transport, parking options (underground car park) not far away. Do not miss!

You eat very well here, unfortunately the service doesn't pay that much attention to those who have been sitting for a long time. U wait, but the only thing I would like is that we weren't overlooked anymore. It happened more often, but otherwise there's nothing to complain about. Worst service in the city...it was raining and windy and the employee didn't want to let us sit inside the restaurant...he kept complaining and insulting me and my husband because we sit inside the restaurant, we had no choice but to leave in the rain. Don't give any stars for the lack of politeness of the attendant inside. I don't recommend the place. There are better places in the city.

Good location in the middle of the old town. We were invited to a party, otherwise we wouldn't go to such tourist restaurants. Food was surprisingly good, prices were a bit higher given the location. Service was very attentive. However, if you like it quieter, you should consider stopping here.

So the family of 5 went out to eat: -Cola ordered and the cheap version from Aldi was served, non-carbonated -had to wait an hour for food and had to watch others come after us and receive their food and leave again. I can't recommend it more :)

Service stressed, beer selection for Bamberg underground, seating right at the bar and so you can hear the employees gossiping about the guests. Maybe interesting for tourists because of the location, otherwise please no.

The Hofbräu is very centrally located in Bamberg. We only came here in the evening to have a drink at the bar. The menu suggests somewhat higher priced food. Very busy restaurant. The service at the counter was excellent. A good selection of drinks, delicious beer, delicious spirits. One tip is the naturally cloudy fruit schnapps.

Food Simply delicious, the recommendation is clearly the Schäufele. The service here is perfectly attentive but not intrusive. The ambience is tailored precisely to the location and simply fits in with everything else around it.

The extremely unfriendly waiter initially made no effort to make the group feel valued as guests in any way. The reserved table was too small for the announced number of people. Apparently he didn't like that. But the food was good and you were full. Actually a typical tourist shop. Can be done, does not have to be.

We had a very comfortable meal there. The savoy cabbage was just a little too overcooked for me, more like puree. The crusty roast was delicious and the dumpling was also good. The chocolate cake was warm and... Yummy. The rhubarb liqueur is also recommended. Service was nice and accommodating. We would definitely go there again 😀.

The food and beer were very delicious. I especially recommend Rauchbier. The employees are extremely kind. While we were eating, they offered us drinks because another customer was disturbing us. The HOFBRÄU in Bamberg has been our favorite place to be a few times a year since 2010, both for lunch and in the evening! Here you will always find a small, fine selection of classics of home-style cuisine, prepared seasonally, regionally and with high quality craftsmanship and newly interpreted. This time, for example, there was black pudding baked in wonton dough, on lentil salad and baguette - really sensational! This appetizer alone was absolutely worth the visit! A taste experience that was really fun. The guest room in the Art Deco style is simply great and always wins us over, not least because of the changing art exhibitions: this time photographic art by Uwe Gaasch, idiosyncratic, avant-garde, worth seeing, just like the HOFBRÄU! Always my pleasure! Absolute recommendation!

We ended up here by chance at the beginning of our short vacation and spent three of four evenings here. Everything is perfect: the food (including asparagus with veal schnitzel) is great. A bit noisy, so not really suitable for a romantic dinner for two, but incredibly good food! Quite crowded in the evenings, reservations are recommended, especially for groups.

I tried smoked beer here for the first time, it was incredibly unusual and quite tasty. We also ate knuckle with potato knodels and stewed cabbage. It was delicious and plentiful. One dish costs 17.10€. Beer is about 5€ for 0.5. A pleasant Russian waitress served us.

The best schnitzel in Bamberg. Actually made with veal and fried in clarified butter. My go-to.

This inn is in high demand, so getting a spot is a bit of a matter of luck. Thanks to our luck, we managed to place an order with the courteous waitress, who had previously very warmly handed over the menus. The veal schnitzel with fries didn't entirely convince me from a culinary point of view, as the breading was rather dark and not large. I've enjoyed better.

We had a good meal here. Because of the ambience and the good location, we have been here several times and enjoyed the good beer.

Good plates and beers and a very interesting wine list. Service ok. Atmosphere: I loved the funny mixture of traditional 'brasserie', central european café and cocktail bar with Latino jazz music 😳.

Here you can drink the famous Rauchbier, typical of the place. We had some Schweinbraten, but they left a lot to be desired. Cost in the German norm and very fast service. It is recommended to book in advance.

Very nice to sit outside, especially when the weather is nice with a view of the old town hall. Lots of tourists but also real Bamberg regulars. Hearty Franconian cuisine, very tasty starters that I can all recommend. Totally lovely, nice service. I always enjoy coming back 🙂

We spontaneously looked for a way to get something good to eat. Luckily we were able to get a table at the brewery. At this point the restaurant was already very busy. The service was very attentive and the food was served very quickly. Here you get a lot for your money. We had schnitzel with French fries and venison goulash with dumplings. Both were very tasty. The apple strudel for dessert was also very lovingly prepared.

I ate here on 10/27/22. My experience was good; I liked what I ate, I don't remember what it was called, but it had a mushroom sauce and bread with butter. My companion ordered wild boar sausage. I fell in love with the jam we served with the dishes. The service was very good, the lady who served us was very friendly. I can't say anything about the prices because my companion paid the bill. Excellent to know the typical Franconian food. 👌🏼
