Weinstube Zeis in Bamberg

A really nice spot. Right on the water. The staff was overwhelmed. There was no conversation, no care, no attention. But she was completely overwhelmed by the crowd. I understand that; it was a lot for just the two of us. The food was decent. Huge portions. We couldn't finish it. We waited 20 minutes to pay, even after asking twice. Other people around us also had to wait a long time, and some even got up because they weren't getting any attention.

They are a bit more expensive, but the atmosphere is nice and the food is good.

Very tasty, very large portions, and super friendly staff. We'd love to come back! The Cordon Bleu with Obazda (traditional German sausage) was amazing!

Location: Very good, and there were also guests at the tables. I was just considering this or the neighboring restaurant. The tables there were more exposed to the sun. So, the Zeis; the food was okay, but the service at the other restaurant was, in my opinion, faster and more attentive. But regardless, we were satisfied.

We had dinner at Restaurant Zeis two weeks ago. The friendly waitress recommended Julian's Cordon Bleu, and the cheese spaetzle filling was absolutely delicious! 🤤 For dessert, we had Kaiserschmarrn. Definitely recommend it! 👌🏻

We reserved a table by phone, and my requests were immediately accommodated 👍🏻 (I wanted a shady spot). When we were eating, I immediately noticed that as a guest, you are still really taken care of. Something I haven't experienced before. I had a Schäuferla (a kind of pork shoulder) and it was amazing 👍🏻, especially the Brändla (a kind of fried dumplings) were super crispy. My wife's schnitzel was also incredibly huge, and the potato salad was super homemade. The chef clearly knows what he's doing. All in all, the friendly staff constantly checked to make sure everything was perfect 👍🏻. It was our first time there and we'll definitely be back 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

During our tour of Bamberg, we had a delicious stop at Zeis. The food was excellent in a lively yet quiet outdoor area. We were immediately given a car seat with our toddler. The food and dessert were extremely delicious. Highly recommended.

I was there for dinner last night. First, I was greeted very warmly by the waitress, and then I got a great seat outside... The food (filled schnitzel) was on the table in no time, and it was as delicious as it looked. Then there was a delicious dessert (Kaiserschmarrn)... There was also a delicious cappuccino 😂👍. And I was even able to have a quick, friendly chat with the waitress... The place was packed, so no one had to wait... She zipped around like the wind... and always had a smile on her face. Unfortunately, I don't know her name 😉. That's how Swabians like to go to their neighboring country 😂😂. Bamberg is a very beautiful destination.

We went to Zeiß in Bamberg and were absolutely thrilled. The food was truly delicious – we especially loved the unusual Cordon Bleu. Where else can you get one filled with ruffled pork or even cheese spaetzle? Absolutely brilliant! What I also thought was really cool: The menu is written in Franconian – it fits perfectly with the whole place and has a real charm. The location is fantastic, and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. We immediately felt at home. In short: Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about – we'll definitely be back!

Nice vegan selection, the vegan roast with cabbage and dumplings was really good quality. The sauce was excellent. We got a seat outside, which was quiet and comfortable. The beer selection and advice were excellent. Highly recommended. My companion had cordon bleu and cheese spaetzle, both of which were delicious.

The cordon bleu was cooked a bit too long, resulting in a very dry, hard breading. The meat and filling were still excellent. The potato salad was okay, but way too sour for me. The same goes for the vinaigrette on the salad. Overall, everything was okay, but not particularly good. A plus: the very friendly service and hardly any wait time.

My wife and I closed down our first evening in Bamberg by having a glass of wine at this little cafe situated off a main square. We did not eat anything so I cannot comment on the food. However, the waitress was charming and very polite. The wine was a perfect nightcap too!

I’m usually someone who eats in small portions, but the food here was so good, I found myself finishing the entire (very generous) plate without a second thought. We ordered Julian's special cordon bleu. Every bite felt like a little celebration. The atmosphere? Warm and welcoming, with just the right balance of relaxed and refined. The drinks were excellent, and the warm, fluffy pancakes topped with a medley of fresh berries and a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream were the perfect balance of comfort and indulgence. The location of the restaurant, and the overall vibe made it easy to settle in and enjoy. Even the service was spot-on; attentive without being overbearing even though we sat inside. The temperature was perfect and not at all stuffy. For the price we paid, it honestly felt like a steal. A definite must-try if you're in the area! I'll surely be visiting again. 🥰🥰

Came across it by chance while planning my bike route. So off to lunch. Very good traditional Franconian cuisine. Friendly service. And the great thing about the inn is that there is also something for vegans and vegetarians (vegetarian roast with dumplings and sauce and various cakes). We will definitely come back.

Great location, perfect food and even better service! When it spontaneously started to rain, the lovely waitress Steffi gave us a seat inside and always had a smile on her face, even with a full house of stressed people. We felt warm, welcome and listened to. I whould recommend this place to everyone for the perfect food and even better service! I'm really grateful, and wish the staff all the best.

The food was okay and the service was sometimes a bit slow and overwhelmed, but otherwise this is a top location and really centrally located. You can stop by here from breakfast to lunch to dinner or even just a small snack.

Unfortunately we couldn't eat because the waitresses didn't take care of us. Are English speaking guests not served? There was no reaction from the waitress, after 20 minutes of waiting with small children we left.

It was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was attentive! The potato salad with the Swiss schnitzel is a poem and the Schäuferle is very tasty and well seasoned. All in all we were completely satisfied! Only recommended! 😊

We were there by chance, certainly not for the last time. The menu also includes vegetarian and vegan dishes - and they are actually very tasty and sometimes hearty. My selection (dumpling with sauce, sauerkraut and vegan roast) was really good, arrived quickly at the table and the portion was large. The price-performance ratio is right, the service is friendly and attentive.

On February 15th, my friends and I ate at this restaurant. We liked everything except the Kaiserschmann as far as the quality of the food was concerned. I give one star for the waiter's poor communication. We asked for the rest of our food to be packed up to take away. The waiter asked again if all the dishes could be combined. We said yes. They brought us something in foil. At home we opened the foil and it turned out that half of our food was simply thrown away! We are shocked by this treatment of customers and food!

At the weekend I celebrated my birthday with almost 60 people here at Zeis with family and friends in a private setting. My conclusion in advance: ALWAYS HAPPY!!! Why? The prior discussions with Nadine and Julian were very open, very relaxed and they both pointed out a lot of things to me that I would have forgotten. After consultation, I organized decorations according to my taste and the team then decorated everything wonderfully. The arrangement with the DJ also took place without any further intervention on my part. And on the day itself there were simply no wishes left. Great service. As always, great food. And the location was also ideal for my purposes. There was food, drink and cozy conversation downstairs and there was a DJ upstairs to celebrate. In between I was often asked whether everything was okay or whether anything good could be done for me. So I am full of praise and can only recommend the Zeis for a private celebration. What this further underlines is that some of my guests who were in Bamberg over the weekend went back to Zeis the next day because they enjoyed it so much. Nadine, Julian and team, you made the day just perfect for me! Thank you again for this! :)

We were guests on a big birthday and felt completely comfortable. A very nice team, delicious food,... We celebrated late into the night and were there again the next day to eat Kaiserschmarrn. We will definitely stop by again on our next visit to Bamberg.

Nice little place. According to the menu, “your living room in the city” – that’s pretty accurate. Very attentive service. Menu in Frangian, with “subtitles”. Very nice. Large selection. Also vegetarian/vegan dishes. Also for sitting outside. We'd love to come back.

Food was delicious, nothing to complain about. Ambiance inside very nice. Very well located outside by the fountain. Service was quick and friendly. We just found the prices a bit expensive. Drinks e.g. water 0.5l 4.50 EUR is a lot. Children's spaetzle 9.00 EUR or Franconian pan for 2 people (38 EUR) was very good, but the portions were quite small for the money. Hence a star deduction. But you can recommend the restaurant without hesitation.

The quality of the dishes is very fair in relation to the price - you really get something for your money here. If you are looking for a relaxed, delicious meal in Bamberg, Zeiss is the right place for you. A friendly, down-to-earth restaurant that completely impressed us.

Spatzle and cordon bleu were of average quality. But it's in the really touristy part of town so you can't expect miracles/high standards.

At the Zeis Restaurant the package is right. The food is highly recommended. I particularly enjoy eating Cordon Bleu cheese spaetzle. The service and the ambience are also very positive. This justifies the slightly higher price compared to other restaurants in the city center.
