Weinstube Zeis in Bamberg

On February 15th, my friends and I ate at this restaurant. We liked everything except the Kaiserschmann as far as the quality of the food was concerned. I give one star for the waiter's poor communication. We asked for the rest of our food to be packed up to take away. The waiter asked again if all the dishes could be combined. We said yes. They brought us something in foil. At home we opened the foil and it turned out that half of our food was simply thrown away! We are shocked by this treatment of customers and food!

We spent a very nice evening. The staff was very friendly.

We were guests on a big birthday and felt completely comfortable. A very nice team, delicious food,... We celebrated late into the night and were there again the next day to eat Kaiserschmarrn. We will definitely stop by again on our next visit to Bamberg.

At the weekend I celebrated my birthday with almost 60 people here at Zeis with family and friends in a private setting. My conclusion in advance: ALWAYS HAPPY!!! Why? The prior discussions with Nadine and Julian were very open, very relaxed and they both pointed out a lot of things to me that I would have forgotten. After consultation, I organized decorations according to my taste and the team then decorated everything wonderfully. The arrangement with the DJ also took place without any further intervention on my part. And on the day itself there were simply no wishes left. Great service. As always, great food. And the location was also ideal for my purposes. There was food, drink and cozy conversation downstairs and there was a DJ upstairs to celebrate. In between I was often asked whether everything was okay or whether anything good could be done for me. So I am full of praise and can only recommend the Zeis for a private celebration. What this further underlines is that some of my guests who were in Bamberg over the weekend went back to Zeis the next day because they enjoyed it so much. Nadine, Julian and team, you made the day just perfect for me! Thank you again for this! :)

Nice little place. According to the menu, “your living room in the city” – that’s pretty accurate. Very attentive service. Menu in Frangian, with “subtitles”. Very nice. Large selection. Also vegetarian/vegan dishes. Also for sitting outside. We'd love to come back.

Staff very friendly and food very tasty

Food was delicious, nothing to complain about. Ambiance inside very nice. Very well located outside by the fountain. Service was quick and friendly. We just found the prices a bit expensive. Drinks e.g. water 0.5l 4.50 EUR is a lot. Children's spaetzle 9.00 EUR or Franconian pan for 2 people (38 EUR) was very good, but the portions were quite small for the money. Hence a star deduction. But you can recommend the restaurant without hesitation.

Beautiful Franconian restaurant! We had lunch there today and had Schäuferl with dumpling and cabbage and the Cordon Bleau with plucked meat. Both super tasty 😋.

The quality of the dishes is very fair in relation to the price - you really get something for your money here. If you are looking for a relaxed, delicious meal in Bamberg, Zeiss is the right place for you. A friendly, down-to-earth restaurant that completely impressed us.

Super Yummy, Cordon Bleu ( it consists of pork, filled with ham & cheese, rolled and coated in breadcrumbs and fried ) German Sausage is super good too & we really like sauerkraut. It's very tasty. The service is just great. ( Eileen ) Highly recommended !!

Spatzle and cordon bleu were of average quality. But it's in the really touristy part of town so you can't expect miracles/high standards.

We had a great evening with good food. It was great that there was something different for vegetarians, as they usually only had cheese spaetzle. The service was very friendly and the dining room was cozy. The homemade apple gin is also recommended.

At the Zeis Restaurant the package is right. The food is highly recommended. I particularly enjoy eating Cordon Bleu cheese spaetzle. The service and the ambience are also very positive. This justifies the slightly higher price compared to other restaurants in the city center.

The restaurant is very centrally and beautifully located. The furnishings are tasteful and cozy. The staff was also very nice. I deducted one point because ready-made products were used as sauces for both meat dishes. The rest was good, especially the mulled wine!

Well, my dish was too salty for me and way to many cheese so I didn't even eat a half unfortunately. Prices are reasonable and good, service is good as well, dishes were delivered fast. In general, food is good, it's just me who didn't had luck

The food was ok but not great or spectacular. The service was good and the atmosphere is nice but a bit stuffy inside (lunch on a Sunday with no one inside the restaurant). I would not return.

We once had the veal cream roast and a plain schnitzel with gravy. The meals were both delicious. Only the Hugo wasn't entirely convincing as it tasted almost exclusively of sparkling wine. Service was friendly and responded to special requests.

We went to Zeis today after visiting several pubs to eat some cheese spaetzle. We got a seat straight away and were served quickly. The drinks arrived after a very short time and we didn't have to wait long for the food either. The food was delicious and the portions were more than sufficient. The service was super polite and accommodating. Definitely recommended for a visit to Bamberg 😊

The fruit market in Bamberg is a pleasant place in itself with fountains and seating. Café Zeis has great tables right there. We had Swiss schnitzel and the quality was very good. Great, friendly service. Toilets, however, are really marginal, dirty, smelly and wobbly fittings. Urgently in need of renovation!

Personally, I found the sausage, potato, and meat combination a bit overwhelming, but it was still friendly and I was able to spend a leisurely afternoon at the outdoor seating! The wine smelled really good, but I couldn't drink it because I had a cold.

We ate here for the first time on August 5th on our wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised that we were there for the second time today on August 9th. The service is always friendly and on point. The food was so delicious that we would definitely come back.

Excellent typical local food. Very generous portions. Efficient and professional service. Unfortunately we had to eat outdoors because as there were few staff it was not possible to eat inside. Unfortunately there were many insects attracted by the heat. The food arrived promptly without having to wait. The restaurant is very nice and well decorated. We ate outside near the fountain. All in all it was pleasant despite the heat.

Cozy atmosphere in the central square in Bamberg. Child and parents were satisfied with food, 2 drinks per person and we were full and satisfied with 54 euros. Käsespätzle are very tasty. Plus a very individual charm with a menu in your own dialect. Gladly again!

It's a beautiful cafe with courteous staff. The food is delicious. We ordered Weiner schnitzel & breaded Schnitzel & it was absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely recommend this place.

We weren't happy with the food, I can't recommend it. The schnitzel actually consisted almost entirely of breading. What little meat there was was extremely thin. The fries were still in their shells. Everything tasted bland and wasn't seasoned. The lettuce leaves were also way too big. We were disappointed. Our criticism was not acknowledged by the staff - owner. Answer: We sell 200 schnitzels a day, so they have to be good. Not recommended !

Due to the great weather we were able to enjoy the service and food "open air". Service is very attentive, gives great recommendations and the food is very good. There is a sufficient and really good tasting vegetarian selection.

We were here with my family after christmas and i must say we did not enjoy the experience at all. We have been here before but on that day the service was horrible, we were constantly ignored and the food was dry and distasteful. We took a couple of pictures, paid and left. Well this time i wouldnt recommend it, especially if its a big group. 2nd time and last time there.
