Went there and drank a glass of white wine. Service friendly and quick. You sit pretty well there.

October 25th, 2023 ate here again, beer good, food good, ambience good, clear recommendation, don't be put off by the inconspicuous exterior, beer garden in summer, reserve on weekends. October 22nd, 2024 got the worst Schäuferla on our brewery tour here today. Criticism was accepted and a schnapps or coffee was offered on the house.

A little tight and loud. Fries for kids wouldn't be bad.

The most important thing: beer tastes good. Had a light, fruity, drinkable, 4.6%. Yummy. Rustic atmosphere. You have to pull together a bit, without a reservation there is no space. Delicious Franconian food, had Schäuferla.

A very friendly service welcomed and served us. The food, smoked liver sausage with cabbage and fried potatoes and caraway sausage with cabbage and fried potatoes, was very tasty. To put it in Franconian words: bassd scho.. We can only recommend it.

The food tastes great. I had a huge schnitzel. Unfortunately I saw too late that it was also available in a smaller portion. Maybe this should be made more obvious on the map. Other guests also had this problem that evening. The staff is very friendly and manages to maintain hospitality despite the number of guests.

Very traditional economy. There's been good beer here since 1380. Very crowded, but if you wait a little you'll find a seat and eat delicious Franconian food.

We chose this restaurant today because it was well rated, but we were really very disappointed. 1. you had to wait a long time before you even got the menu. 2. Half of the food on the daily menu was already sold out at 4:30 p.m. 3. the Schäufele was really bland and only tasted of salt. Unfortunately, my piece also had more bones than meat. Unfortunately we can't recommend the restaurant, it's a shame :(

Visiting Bamberg: On the occasion of a training course from the company, we went to Sternla not only for dinner but also for the bid tasting with Patrick. From the exciting stories of how the beer was created to the tour of the brewery in the building opposite, what stood out was the attentive waitress Michelle. Great people, great atmosphere! Of course, as a city dweller, I only understood half of the menu; But once you get used to the fact that every word ends with -a, it's actually okay. Had the salad because that's all I understood. Fun! Salad was the safe bet and the portion was insane!

The food was good value for money, but the waiting time of 2 hours (and with hungry children too) was decidedly too long. In addition, we were not the only family who had to wait a long time, while whole groups came after us and ate before us. Certainly ok for drinking beer and a very cozy outdoor area, not recommended for families.

Went there today with colleagues! The beer garden was completely full. Great service, from the first order, until the food was at our table and also the repeat orders within a very short time! The food was delicious, lots of it and perfectly prepared! Absolutely recommended!

Overcrowded tourist restaurant of medium quality; Schäuferla didn't live up to expectations - there's better somewhere else... The service was positive, friendly and quick - despite being overcrowded. The home-brewed beer was also good. Otherwise there are certainly more worthwhile restaurants in Bamberg.

Wir besuchten am Samstag das Sternla und hatten 2x 1/2 Hähnchen mit Brot bestellt. Das Hähnchen war total trocken kein Saftiges Fleisch-trocken. So schmeckt kein frisches gebackenes Hähnchen. Dekoration fehlte auf dem Teller und erschien uns sehr lieblos. Die Bedienung war freundlich. Ich kann das Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen.

Great atmosphere, rustic and modern at the same time, very nice and motivated staff. All types of beer are tasty, the food is regionally good, home-style, the menu is small but all the Franconian classics are available. As is typical in Franconia, you can also bring your own food to enjoy a cozy get-together.

I had left Lausanne at 4 a.m. the last Thursday of August 2024 and it was now noon and I was close to Bamberg driving north towards Berlin. It was time for lunch and I looked for some authentic eatery in town consulting maps. The city attracts a lot of tourists so there are the usual pizza and kebab places to avoid at all cost. But could you find a more authentic place than Zum Sternla, that served its first guests in 1380 and has still not been forced out of business? In addition they had their summer brew of lager that rapidly was placed in front of me by my pleasant and fun waitress. I opted for the cumin sausages on a bed of Sauerkraut and accompanied by pan fried potatoes, a classic German choice. It was just what I needed. You sit in their beer garden at large tables so you can easily find new people to speak to if you want. That Thursday it was 36.5 degrees in the shade so people drank a lot of the local beer. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Locale con una parte interna e una esterna, noi eravamo all'esterno. Ci sono ampie tavolate in condivisione, cosa simpatica. Meno simpatico il personale, in particolare la signora (non le ragazze) che ci ha servito, abbastanza scortese e con un fare un po' intollerante. Il cibo è buono anche se i kasespatzle non erano particolarmente gustosi. Servizio rapido perché dopo di noi il tavolo era prenotato, noi eravamo in tre e non abbiamo potuto prenotare (accettano prenotazioni solo da 4 persone in poi).

I can recommend this place. Was there on a Monday, when only the beer garden was open with a greatly reduced menu, drinks were available to pick up yourself. It was still very pleasant.

The staff seemed unmotivated, which was reflected, among other things, in the fact that their hands were not washed after using the toilet. The schnitzel for €18.80 was disappointing and reminiscent of canteen food. The salad was the highlight of the meal. The drinks, especially the beer, were the best and very good. The long waiting time spoiled the experience, which is why we decided not to express our displeasure on site.

Everything was great again! We have been coming back for around 39 years. However, I have missed the broad beans with smoked meat and flour spazen for years. You hardly get this menu anymore.

We spontaneously went there to have some refreshment. Unfortunately there wasn't much choice, which was a shame. Food was ok so far. Service was always friendly. The beer garden was kept clean.

Returned after a few months, always a great pleasure to return. Fantastic beers and delicious pepper chicken. The welcome is also always excellent. A now fixed stop in every visit to Bamberg
