Brauhaus Zum Sternla in Bamberg

There were 5 of us for dinner at the Zum Sternla brewery on a Saturday evening. The food was very good and we enjoyed it. We had the pan-fried schnitzel (with extra dumplings and sauce), the potato soup, game sausages with cabbage, sliced ​​buttons with sauce and Schäuferla. Unfortunately, the dining room was very loud due to the high number of visitors and the lady at the toilets with the donation plate irritated us a bit.

Typical Franconian brewery, delicious, hearty food, tasty beer, great service! We had schnitzel and fried potatoes and a salad as well as all the beers on the menu. Highly recommended!

Always worth a visit!!! The food was simply great, the staff was so nice (even though the hut was on fire), the ambience was rustic, as it should be in Bamberch (Franconia)! In summer there is a lovely beer garden with always well-chilled fresh 😋 beer!

The two of us came on Sunday evening and were lucky to get a table. We ordered Schäuferla and Lebäkähs. The crusty roast was one of the best I've ever eaten.

It doesn't get any better. Even though the pub was packed, the service was super nice. Food and drink excellent

Super friendly, tasty and very cozy

We reserved a table for 4 and were seated at a table for 6. That was actually okay for us. After ordering drinks, another couple went unasked (and sorry, they were super annoying and constantly talked about genitals and certain practices), which really bothered us. If I had known that, I would have gone somewhere else. That wasn't nice and we weren't asked at all and the space was extremely tight afterwards. The schnitzel was very good, the portion was large. However, the Schäuferla was quite tiny and not that good. A little too greasy and definitely too small, I expected more and have eaten better elsewhere so far. The ambience is getting old, but that's okay. It was clean and the waitresses were on point. Overall, I was disappointed given the entire circumstances.

Great beer, we eat giga good. To my deepest regret, the place was unable to offer me mayonnaise to go with the wild boar sausage, despite my explicit request. (See photo evidence, Q.e.d!!). Therefore only 4 out of 5 stars!!!!

Bel locale dallo stile conviviale situato appena fuori dalle vie più turistiche. Servizio un pò lento ma sempre gentile e disponbile. Buonissime le birre di loro produzione e buona qualità dei prodotti offerti, tutto "made in Franconia"... vale una visita!

There were five of us in this beautiful, rustic inn. Were received very friendly and warmly. We had various meat and vegan dishes, everything was very tasty and great value for money. Food came quickly and hot. Of course the beer also tastes great 🍻

On Mondays in the Sternla beer garden you can even bring your own food. But the plucked and sausage salad is very tasty and a lot! The beer was very tasty. Service very nice. There could only be a few beautiful plants in the beer garden Once again at Sternla - super delicious food,

We were at Sternla for the first time today and what can I say? The Schäuferl, simply perfect. Super seasoned without overwhelming you as is often the case. The meat falls off the bone and is super tender, while the crust is crispy and tasty. The barrel herb melts in your mouth and the sauce rounds everything off. The beer and all other drinks were hearty and flawless. You just have to look at it for yourself and, above all, taste it! If I could give more stars, I wouldn't hesitate.

Beautiful location, delicious food, good beer from our own brewery. Special praise to the great staff. We had a very good lunch here.

We have already stopped and eaten here twice while passing through. The beer and food are very good and a decent portion - the Schäufele is particularly recommended. Service was always quick and very friendly. Dogs are welcome and there is enough space under the tables. It's a bit noisy at times, but that's how it is in a lively pub. We look forward to your next visit!

Delicious and traditional Franconian cuisine and a rustic brewery. Very tasty home-brewed beer. The Schäuferle is a dream. The service is quick and attentive. The brewery is very busy in the evenings, unfortunately no reservation is possible for groups of four people.

The innkeeper did not allow unvaccinated people into his inn during Corona times. This was discriminatory for those affected.

The food was actually ok, but the sauce was probably a ready-made sauce, I noticed that straight away. Everything was quick, but it was also very crowded.

I was there again yesterday after a long time. Vegetarians are catered for, the green seed patties tasted excellent. A few more fried potatoes certainly wouldn't have hurt. The export beer was also delicious. Would love to come back there!

Unfortunately I got burnt fried potatoes. And there was also a hair in the food. Shouldn't happen. No apology or “compensation” received. Not particularly accommodating. Very cramped. It becomes quite "nested". So I'm not coming back.

Beautiful old brewery and restaurant, with delicious beer and hearty food. As you would expect. The service staff are very friendly and the food is tasty.

Our thanks go to all employees of the Sternla brewery. We were there as a large Spanish family of 9 people. On a rainy day we were treated very kindly from the first moment. From the lady at the reception to the young man who brought us the drinks and food. Particularly noteworthy is Melena, who treated us in an exceptional way and made sure we didn't lack for anything. We also appreciate the kindness of the rest of the guests we met who were great and understanding of our two young children. We confirm that the food is very good, but the real wealth of this place lies in its highly qualified and helpful staff. Thank you for making us feel at home. We hope to be able to come back soon.

We went to Sternla spontaneously (Sunday, prime time) and got a table straight away. Leberkäs, half a chicken and dumpling for the little ones - absolutely delicious, served hot and the beer is great! Absolutely recommended!

Yesterday we were able to celebrate our Christmas party at Sternla/Bräustübla. It was our pleasure! Beer is obviously very good (the Bock is a dream, by the way). The food was always perfect for everyone. Everything came quickly with no waiting times. But service is particularly noteworthy. Everyone together really made it perfect. Special praise for Marie: She was somehow always there, always friendly and always in a good mood and on the ball even when the place was full. Cheers! It was an honor to be guests here! (unfortunately more than 5 stars are not possible)

I usually come here specifically for the liver sausage, which is fantastic. I don't understand why the caraway sausage is so hyped. The bearing is ok, although not outstanding compared to the competition. The service was quite quick.

Classic Bavarian dishes, not bad. The service was a little confusing....I asked for another beer and had time to finish the dish before it arrived. The house strudel was a little disappointing....a lot of cream (useless) a very liquid hot cream next to the cold strudel which was not mutually appreciated.

After a class guided tour through the history of Bamberg, we returned hungry. The welcome was friendly and the food came quickly. Unfortunately, the quality was very diverse and ranges from a good Schäuferla, a good salad and caraway sausages to a not very enjoyable schnitzel with fried potatoes. Compared to the Gasthof Schiller in Strullendorf, the cuisine here is not really a satisfying culinary delight. Too bad!

October 25th, 2023 ate here again, beer good, food good, ambience good, clear recommendation, don't be put off by the inconspicuous exterior, beer garden in summer, reserve on weekends. October 22nd, 2024 got the worst Schäuferla on our brewery tour here today. Criticism was accepted and a schnapps or coffee was offered on the house.

Very nice staff, the old sun is very rustic and beautiful, more of an indoor feeling at the back. Beer is Franconian and good, changing types. Limited food selection, but also quite good. Qualitative brewery level. Fast serving.
