What a quaint restaurant. Great food, friendly service, fantastic beer. Really good value for money!

My boyfriend and I visited my old hometown Bamberg recently and decided to meet friends at the Sternla because of their Franconian menu selections. I had failed to make a reservation, but the staff kindly accommodated us. Unfortunately, the table was located in the drafty entryway and the seats were not overly comfortable. Nevertheless, we had an excellent dinner of Pork Schauferla and Schnitzel. Our server was friendly and prompt. It was a great evening!

The atmosphere is okay...the staff is friendly...but the food...is terrible...tasted like it was yesterday's...the staff accepted my apology and offered a shot of schnapps as apology...but I would have preferred a delicious knuckle of pork...the beer is delicious...but I would make my own food or eat somewhere else...

Brauhaus Sternla, selection of warm dishes and snacks is manageable, but that's not a disadvantage. What's really good is that the menu is written in very understandable language. I can't understand why you have to translate it again. Home-brewed beer rounds off the offering. Food prices are reasonable for Bamberg. I think the beer is a bit too expensive. You can't get over 4 euros in the heart of Bierfranken. Service staff very friendly and accommodating. A seat reservation is recommended.

We started our Bamberg day tour on May 2nd. Easily reachable on foot from the train station in a quarter of an hour, we were lucky at lunchtime and very quickly found a table in the courtyard. The service is friendly and courteous and very well organized given the high frequency of collateral.

The Franconian food was delicious and there was a decent portion. Service was nice and accommodating.

A visit to the brewery is a must when you are in Bamberg. Here you can get the best Schäuferla (crispy, juicy, delicious). The service was very nice and attentive. We had our drinks in no time and the food was on the table quite quickly. We were there around lunchtime and there were plenty of free seats available. We will definitely be back here to eat Schäuferla on our next vacation.

Since there was a lot going on, we sat at a large table with other guests. We had to wait a little for the food, but it was worth it. The food was super tasty and plentiful. We were there on Friday evening (3 people) and wanted to have some food and a beer. It was packed and loud as hell. You are seated at a table where there were still 3 seats available. The service is on point and you are well looked after. The Märzen and Export are very drinkable beers. Contrary to expectations, the cabbage with the sausage tasted sweet, even though we were actually expecting sauerkraut. Shortly before departure on Saturday we went there again for lunch and ate fried potatoes with a fried egg. Tasty and very large portion. Absolute recommendation.

I would like to give a big compliment to the bachelor brewer because his beer, which is currently being served, tastes excellent. Be quick and try it as I'm sure you'll drink it up soon. Great job Bravo 👍

I assure you can feel the local atmosphere than any other Brauhaus in the Altstadt of Bamberg. Furthermore, this place is the oldest Brauhaus in Bamberg. The pork shoulder is very tender and its skin is crispy enough.

Top location with totally friendly service. In addition to the locals, there are of course also many tourists like us, including those from America, for example, who can't cope with the local food culture... we didn't care at all, we'd be happy to come back at any time!

Have been to this place several times in recent years. Always been satisfied but not this time. Ordered schaufele which is one of the favorite dishes down here, but this time it was not good. Was dry and clearly reheated.

A very nice and cozy inn with a large outdoor area in the courtyard. The ambience definitely invites you to linger. The home-brewed beers and the food are very tasty and the price-performance ratio is definitely still right here. The staff is attentive and always very friendly, even though there is always something going on here.

Trotz Reservierung durch unser Hotel mussten wir unser Essen abends bei 14 Grad im Aussenbereich einnehmen. Leider haben wir in Bamberg häufiger den Eindruck gehabt, dass man sich bei guter Auslastung seitens der Gastronomen alles erlauben kann.

Leckeres Bier, netter Service, ehrliche Küche! Mein Schäuferla war ein Traum aber auch der Rest unserer Gruppe kam auf seine Kosten. In der alten Gastsstube kann es manchmal einem vielleicht zu lailut werden - aber dann geht man halt auch nicht ins Brauhaus.

That was a fantastic experience. We booked the brewery tour with a snack. We received a very warm welcome and off we went into the brewery. Here, we learned many interesting details about the brewing process. Afterwards, we sat in a cozy group with beer 🍺🍻 and a snack. We were imparted a wealth of knowledge and were able to try not only Sternla but also many other beers from Bamberg. The snack was incredibly delicious 😋. This is a 5 🌟 plus. We visit Franconian once a year and that includes a visit to Bamberg and Sternla. The food and especially the beer are top. The price-performance ratio is very good. The service is nice and on point. We always take a small selection of beers with us to take home.

Again and again, and not just because of the excellent beers that Max and his team brew. The food is also delicious and it's always quick.

Delicious beer and good Franconian cuisine

Five of us went to Brauhaus Zum Sternla for dinner on a Saturday evening. The food was very good and we enjoyed it. We had the pan schnitzel (with extra dumpling and sauce), the potato soup, game sausages with cabbage, cut buttons with sauce and Schäuferla. Unfortunately, it was very loud in the dining room due to the good number of visitors and the lady in the toilets with the donation plate irritated us a bit.

The two of us came on Sunday evening and were lucky to get a table. We ordered Schäuferla and Lebäkähs. The crusty roast was one of the best I've ever eaten.
