It won't become my favorite beer, but when you're there, you have to drink it. Restaurant totally cozy!

We had a fantastic time, great people, great owner, great food and top notch beer.

Were there with 8 people, reservation worked well, very good communication in advance. Food great. Gladly again. I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is always busy

Great Franconian restaurant, very busy, no chance of getting a seat without a reservation, very good Franconian cuisine, very good beers, very good service and ambience. However, it is very loud there, making it difficult to have in-depth conversations.

The food is very tasty. We recommend the liver sausage and the Schäufele. The beer is also recommended.

As a walk-in I didn’t expect to get a table for 5, on a Friday night around 6pm. But the staff made it happen. Just few ppl reseated and we joined a table with 4 others. Lovely 🙏🏻 The service and food was perfect. Nothing to complain

Unfortunately there were 2 drinks too many on the bill, so please check the bill carefully, but it was later sorted out politely.

Restaurant with a rustic charm and delicious food, which is served by the very friendly staff. Ideal meeting point to talk to other people, as you are always seated at a table with other people (to ensure optimal use of space). An absolute recommendation 👍

I usually come here specifically for the liver sausage, which is fantastic. I don't understand why the caraway sausage is so hyped. The bearing is ok, although not outstanding compared to the competition. The service was quite quick.

Classic Bavarian dishes, not bad. The service was a little confusing....I asked for another beer and had time to finish the dish before it arrived. The house strudel was a little disappointing....a lot of cream (useless) a very liquid hot cream next to the cold strudel which was not mutually appreciated.

After a class guided tour through the history of Bamberg, we returned hungry. The welcome was friendly and the food came quickly. Unfortunately, the quality was very diverse and ranges from a good Schäuferla, a good salad and caraway sausages to a not very enjoyable schnitzel with fried potatoes. Compared to the Gasthof Schiller in Strullendorf, the cuisine here is not really a satisfying culinary delight. Too bad!

October 25th, 2023 ate here again, beer good, food good, ambience good, clear recommendation, don't be put off by the inconspicuous exterior, beer garden in summer, reserve on weekends. October 22nd, 2024 got the worst Schäuferla on our brewery tour here today. Criticism was accepted and a schnapps or coffee was offered on the house.

Went there and drank a glass of white wine. Service friendly and quick. You sit pretty well there.

A very friendly service welcomed and served us. The food, smoked liver sausage with cabbage and fried potatoes and caraway sausage with cabbage and fried potatoes, was very tasty. To put it in Franconian words: bassd scho.. We can only recommend it.

The food tastes great. I had a huge schnitzel. Unfortunately I saw too late that it was also available in a smaller portion. Maybe this should be made more obvious on the map. Other guests also had this problem that evening. The staff is very friendly and manages to maintain hospitality despite the number of guests.

Stopped here for lunch and a couple of beers. Service friendly, atmosphere good, and food excellent. Good choices from the menu and at a sensible price. Beer also excellent. Highly recommended.

We chose this restaurant today because it was well rated, but we were really very disappointed. 1. you had to wait a long time before you even got the menu. 2. Half of the food on the daily menu was already sold out at 4:30 p.m. 3. the Schäufele was really bland and only tasted of salt. Unfortunately, my piece also had more bones than meat. Unfortunately we can't recommend the restaurant, it's a shame :(

Visiting Bamberg: On the occasion of a training course from the company, we went to Sternla not only for dinner but also for the bid tasting with Patrick. From the exciting stories of how the beer was created to the tour of the brewery in the building opposite, what stood out was the attentive waitress Michelle. Great people, great atmosphere! Of course, as a city dweller, I only understood half of the menu; But once you get used to the fact that every word ends with -a, it's actually okay. Had the salad because that's all I understood. Fun! Salad was the safe bet and the portion was insane!

The food was good value for money, but the waiting time of 2 hours (and with hungry children too) was decidedly too long. In addition, we were not the only family who had to wait a long time, while whole groups came after us and ate before us. Certainly ok for drinking beer and a very cozy outdoor area, not recommended for families.

Overcrowded tourist restaurant of medium quality; Schäuferla didn't live up to expectations - there's better somewhere else... The service was positive, friendly and quick - despite being overcrowded. The home-brewed beer was also good. Otherwise there are certainly more worthwhile restaurants in Bamberg.

Wir besuchten am Samstag das Sternla und hatten 2x 1/2 Hähnchen mit Brot bestellt. Das Hähnchen war total trocken kein Saftiges Fleisch-trocken. So schmeckt kein frisches gebackenes Hähnchen. Dekoration fehlte auf dem Teller und erschien uns sehr lieblos. Die Bedienung war freundlich. Ich kann das Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen.

All types of beer are tasty, the food is regionally good, home-style, the menu is small but all the Franconian classics are available. As is typical in Franconia, you can also bring your own food to enjoy a cozy get-together.

Nice restaurant, for inside and outside, in the courtyard for outside and inside, I assume in a former "farm building" But tastefully decorated, service - very nice and very attentive, there was no rush despite the large crowds. Food was good, not overpriced, beer was tasty. All in all, a lovely evening in a cozy atmosphere. Can recommend with a clear conscience.

I was with my wife, the tourist restaurant is not extra, we had lunch, their food is extra! and the beer is even better, they have their own brewery, which is the oldest in Europe and I can tell you that the beer is extra! THANKS!
