If you've ever been to a Hofbraü in Bavaria, this will be a familiar scene. Plenty of pork and rivers of beer. If this is your thing, make a reservation - even mid week - and go. Recommended for people who appreciate this kind of thing.

Hello everyone, I recently discovered the Hofbräu Haus in Hamburg with my father. It was recommended to me by friends and I was just thrilled. The food was well prepared, tasted very good and the quantity was very sufficient. The service was also very good, our waiter was very friendly, open and accommodating. We were checked on regularly and drinks and food were served very quickly. The ambience is beautiful, Bavarian, as you would expect in a Hofbräu house, and the layout of the rooms is very well done. We were in the screen area and wanted to watch football. There was also a dance floor, which was well attended and the band lifted the mood. I just thought it was wonderful to have something to eat there and spend the evening with my father with a few beers and good company. In particular, the people/visitors who come internationally from all regions (Sweden and Ireland at our table) led to great conversations, new experiences and fun drinking sessions. We drank a lot of shots and beers, especially with the Irish, and had an unforgettable evening. There were far more nationalities represented, and we also had very nice conversations with Italians behind our table. I give the 4 stars instead of 5 stars because the prices are not exorbitant, but you can expect to pay a little more money. This is not uncommon at Hofbrauhäuser, but it is something to keep in mind. Overall, I can only warmly recommend the Hofbräu Hamburg to everyone and will go there again soon. They also host events for Christmas, New Year's Eve and of course Oktoberfest. Especially on occasions like this it's worth it to get to know a lot of different people and have a lot of fun! *Caution*: The Hofbräu Hamburg is very well known and is usually fully booked. If you want a place at one of the tables, you should reserve well in advance. If you come alone or with a maximum of 3 people, you can always find a solution on site, even without a reservation, but this is not guaranteed and larger groups cannot be accommodated spontaneously at reserved tables.

If you are a visitor looking for a full German food experience, this is a must. If you are celiac like me, we also have a wide range of gluten free options. Meat was excellent but I would like to highlight the quality and kindness of the service, specially Jana, a lovely worker who answered our multiple tourist-and-celiac questions with a smile.

I visited this restaurant as part of a Christmas party and overall I was very satisfied. The food was excellent - every dish tasted convincing and was of high quality. The prices are in the upper price segment, but are absolutely justified. The service was friendly, if a bit patchy in places, but you were always served after a short wait. Particularly noteworthy is the authentic ambience, which creates a cozy and atmospheric atmosphere. All in all, a great experience that I would happily recommend!

Short and sweet. My food was fine. However, I had a knuckle with a huge bone. My colleague next to me also had a knuckle twice the size of a smaller bone. Every animal is different but if you have a big bone I expect a bigger knuckle... Unfortunately, my colleagues' other dishes weren't as good. Meat dry. The service was very attentive and very friendly, but there were improvements there too. The ambience was no better than a cheap Oktoberfest tent. The acoustics were very loud and you could hardly have a conversation with the people sitting next to you

We definitely won't go here again. I had reserved a table for Saturday for 11 people. When we got there at the time we reserved, we were told that we couldn't get the table because we had CHILDREN with us. When we asked why we weren't allowed in with children, we were told that there was loud music and there were drunk people. 🤔 well, quite modest, as the children were hungry and cold. Then after an hour-long search (Saturday evening with 11 people) we found a warm restaurant where you can also come in with CHILDREN. We certainly won't be making reservations HERE again. My question: why are CHILDREN'S meals on the menu?

We went to the Hofbräuhaus for Sunday brunch. Everything about it such as the ambience, service staff, music was great, but unfortunately the quality of the food is extremely poor. Even a simple dish like Käsespätzle was totally dry. Unfortunately, we hardly found anything in the huge buffet that was really tasty. It's a shame because everything else was great.

Came here for a real German dining experience and got the portion of a giant pork knuckle. It was very tasty and also a really fun experience! The pork rind was SO FRESH and delicious. The potato dumplings and the cabbage slaw on the side were really nice too.

The food tasted fine, and we got some huge portions, so we couldn't eat it all. The service was slow, but it was also pretty crowded with people. The restaurant was full with happy people - there was a band, with lead too dancing and sing a long.

Recommend the German pork knuckles, the skin is very crispy and the portion is large💕 The beer is delicious and the store is very large with lots of seats, perfect for gatherings!

We were there for the Christmas party. And had pre-ordered the food. The service was very quick and friendly. The food tasted great. Unfortunately the dishes were very clear. Nobody was full and we had to order pretzels to make sure we were full.

Absolutely unsuitable for parties where you want to entertain. Otherwise great if you want a good atmosphere and good food.

The food in the Hofbräuhaus as well as the beer are always a pleasure. The staff was nice and accommodating, and the ambience is very in keeping with the Bavarian Hofbräu theme. The only thing that is a bit tiring in the long run is the volume, especially when there is football going on or it is simply very crowded.

Simply enjoy German cuisine with a German beer from our own brewery in an Oktoberfest-like atmosphere. Great! Great hospitality and service. Recommended👍🏼

I ordered a veal schnitzel with potato salad. The veal schnitzel was really good, it was thin and the taste was a dream and the potato salad was really tasty. I hadn't had such a good potato salad in a long time

Way too loud for me. Of course, if you want to have Oktoberfest, this is the right place for you. Was at a meeting here, unfortunately the wrong place. Staff great, always friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were overpriced. As I said, okay for Oktoberfest, not recommended for anything else.

Although this is North Germany, they serve Bavarian roasted pig's feet, which tastes very good, and the potato balls are also very authentic. The beer is delicious, the service is fast, and it is a very good restaurant.

We love this place very much, the service is good, the waiters are always smiling and speak English, the cuisine is excellent, in all German traditions, and the beer is the best in the city. There is a children's menu, prices are reasonable.

I had the original Wiener Schnitzel for €28 and it was inedible. Complete gristle meat, really not good. Absolute disappointment and tourist hell. Better to avoid.

I didn't like Germany that much. After coming to Hamburg and coming to this store, my thoughts changed. I recommend it to those who like a noisy atmosphere! The live performance is really good I don't know about the other food, but I had Haksen and two beers. It cost about 32 euros. Even though I went alone, everyone greeted me kindly. In particular, the brunette lady in charge of my table was really friendly :) Papa Go turned around and looked at the menu, but he realized it too late and brought us an English menu, and smiled at us until we finished eating. ♡ I have good memories of Hamburg :^) ♡♡

Unfortunately I can't give a good review here. I was prepared for a cozy Bavarian atmosphere and ended up in a restaurant that was way too loud (the other guests' conversations echoed very loudly and the music played over the loudspeaker was extremely loud). The food was also mediocre, I had the hendl haxen, which were 4 small drumsticks with BBQ marinade and extra dry fries. The only positive thing was the service...

The Bundesliga is advertised and if you, as a Hamburger, want to watch football, you have to wait...then a 2-minute conference is switched on, which was just a bad joke and Bayern were playing on all the TVs again!!! Please don't go there to watch football, dear Hamburgers

Ordered Viennese schnitzel with sauce, I paid for a veal schnitzel, I had no idea whether I had a veal schnitzel, it didn't matter, everything we ate was very good, particularly attentive but possibly billed incorrectly

Don't order Brizza The Hofbräuhaus Hamburg was a real disappointment - especially the so-called “Brizza”. This mixture of pretzel and pizza was simply catastrophic. The dough tasted old and was inedibly tough, as if you were looking at chewing gum made from pretzel dough. In addition, the whole thing was extremely oversalted, and the sparsely distributed ingredients seemed cheap and without any freshness. The fact that an exorbitant price is charged for such an inferior product is an outrage. The service rounded off the experience: inattentive and unfriendly. Absolutely not recommended.

Dude, that knuckle was absolute madness! I haven't eaten anything this delicious in a long time. And the other dishes were really good too. I'll definitely go there again! Only the volume is a bit annoying.

Was seated and then waited 40 minutes to order because my server never came back. Another server even made a joke that he hoped he hadn’t gone to the sister restaurant in the city but also didn’t take my order or let the other server know. I gave up and went to Restaurant Franziskaner around the corner which was nice and I also preferred the quieter and more homely atmosphere

Absolutely recommended! Solid food with expected quality. Nice atmosphere and considerate staff. But it has already become expensive. At €30 per dish plus drinks, these are now Oktoberfest prices and no longer have anything to do with the classic Bavarian pub culture, which would be down-to-earth and inexpensive at the same time.

We were with 40 people at the Champions League game between Bayern and Barcelona on October 23rd. on site. The reservation was easy, the seats were great, the service and food were excellent. Special praise goes to Rosa, who served us excellently.

Super tasty cheese spaetzle, my husband raves about the pork knuckle (very tender with a great crust) and I love the Kaiserschmarn. Very nice and attentive staff, we often have the same waiter. Special requests have never been a problem.

Classic Hofbrau. The beer was excellent the food was slightly better than street food. Normal prices. If you want to have a beer and grab sth to eat you can go. Don't expect much from the food though.

Extremely poor food and service. Did not give us lunch menu until our food came after we order, and found out there were so much more better and cheaper options. Ended up ordering a sausage platter, and found out they give four Lidl-taste and Lidl-quality chicken sausages, and an Ikea hotdog sausage. Absolutely Disastrous! Would never return. Even thinking maybe they are racist so did not serve us appropriately, and thats the least thing I want to think about. Staff were also very slow and quite rude in responding to us politely telling them we did not receive the lunch menu.

Great atmosphere at the October Festival

We were very happy to be able to enjoy delicious Bavarian dishes so far north. From the Obazda to the sausage salad and the goulash soup to the Leberkäs, everything was really very tasty and nicely prepared. The junior also enjoyed his schnitzel with fried potatoes. The ambience is typical of a brewery...we felt comfortable and the service also impressed us. The only downside is that I find the 0.5 liter beer for 6.20 euros to be sporty. It still tasted 😉

The original in Munich is of course better for me as a Bavarian

One of the waiters has attitude problem. Unfriendly atmosphere and mediocre beer.

The food was already very selected at 1:15 p.m. even though the buffet was valid until 3 p.m. There was hardly any dessert left and when I asked, I was told that we hadn't expected so many guests. An embarrassing statement. The music system including the disc jockey was terrible. The whole event was not worth the €30.00. We were 14 people, we won't be coming back!

What a place! Delicious beer, food and fantastic atmosphere! Music was great and staff friendly and helpful! Party atmosphere from the moment we arrived until when we left! Would come back in a heartbeat! Enjoyable!

Went there with our company. Our boss invited and left a lot of money there. Unfortunately we were greeted by a very arrogant and listless employee who took us to the booked table (not guided us). Later, when we were on the dance floor, our boss accidentally bumped into this waiter while dancing. He then immediately ran to the security service, who then tried to open a barrel in a very unprofessional manner. That's not how you celebrate at the Hofbräuhaus. Things were much better and more relaxed at Speersort last year.

Alcohol is consumed here in the presence of minors, unbelievable that this is still possible in 2024. No chance for these druggies. 1/5 stars, I'll never go there again.

The beers and food was good. However, service here tends to be slow, and some of the waitresses could have attitude problems. Food was generally served quite fast and also the beers, too. Both the food and beer portions are huge as well. If you are looking for good German Food and beer. You could consider this place.
