This is a great place for a beer and meat feast. It's even good with your family, as they have a children's menu (which I didn't see much of in Hamburg) and play area. The place is so vast I think the staff put you in an appropriate area for your ground. We had the Pork Knuckle which was ample for 2 adults and a child. The apple Strudel Pudding looked apitising but we were too full

A great food experience for locals and tourists who want to enjoy authentic German food. The food was yummy, the restaurant was fun and the staff was friendly. Dinner and dessert were awesome! My wife and I will definitely return.

An unfriendly place for foreigners. The server placed the food on the table and said, “You can eat your own food,” which surprised me and the German at the table next to me. I'm surprised that places like this still exist in Germany. Unfreundlich zu Ausländern, Serviererin bringt das Essen, stellt es nicht vor die Person, die es bestellt hat, und tut so, als ob "Nehmt euch es selbst“.

The food was on point. 4 different people ordered 4 different meals and we shared the food to see what it all tasted like. Every single bit was amazing.

07/2023 So, today after 3 years I would like to give an update: Positive and negative reviews should help the person being reviewed learn and ideally improve. However, legal attempts are being made to have the review deleted, as a business relationship is doubted if proof cannot be provided. 08/2020 Well, we used to be here more often, but thanks to Corona there have now been some changes that are acceptable. But what is absolutely unacceptable is the poor service and the declining quality of the food. We were also very surprised that every single guest's order was taken and everything was ultimately delivered on a large plate or platter. Cheese spaetzle mixed with potato gratin is not for everyone. So we decided not to visit this restaurant anymore.

If you couldn't give a star, it would still be too much. My family and I stood in the entrance area for over a quarter of an hour waiting for a table to be assigned. There were only two service staff working in the premises (which are really spacious). However, there were still a lot of tables unoccupied. However, the two service staff walked past without paying any attention to us. By the way, it was very loud and had a typical train station atmosphere. We then decided on another restaurant and left. At this point there were other people in the entrance area who then left the restaurant.

The HB beer, pork knuckle, and sausage are all excellent. Great atmosphere too!

Unfortunately, the buffet has declined significantly. We arrived and almost everything was empty. Some items were only refilled after 15-20 minutes. But that's not the main point. Meat (roast and knuckle goulash) was dry and chicken legs were still raw on the inside. Gratin had no taste at all. The location is nice, but the food couldn't keep up.

Good food and service. Big portion. There is a corner for kids to play. Nice atmosphere.

We stopped there on the way back from our Greet (hamburg-greeter.de). At that time the number of visitors was low. We had a quiet place. Since the waitress kept walking past us, we stopped a waitress after 10 minutes and placed the order. The drinks came quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Everything tasted great.

Kaiserschmarrn were good, beer was excellent.

The ambience is great according to the motto. It couldn't be more Bavarian. We went there on a weekday afternoon when there was very little going on. This also gave the waiter some time to chat with us. The food was also good, the potato salad tasted better than at the Hofbräuhaus in Munich. The prices are a bit high, especially the drinks price I think is excessive. I think €5.90 for a wheat beer is a bit cheeky. There is a 1 star deduction for this. Otherwise we were quite satisfied.

I always forget that massive places mean a comprise in quality of food and service and high is exactly what we experienced. For people who wants to have a good quality of meal is not the place at all . If you want to drink barrels of beer, so here it is the place . The schnitzel was very dry with no side dishes we have to order ketchup and mustard to make it a little bit juicy. The waitress was very understanding and offered to return it but we refused .

Food was delicious, prices are a bit high. Probably due to the location. It is very loud and the waiters are sometimes overworked.

Good Bavarian Hofbräuhaus in Hamburg. Good, rich dishes and good drinks and not just beers... Above all the good, attentive and always friendly staff. Everything from the kitchen to reception to the excellent service can be found here! I was just wondering why a Bavarian Hofbräuhaus in Hamburg of all places? 🤔 But it's still worth a visit.

The premises are huge, there is plenty of space and it is beautifully decorated in Bavarian style. The service at lunchtime is a disaster, you wait forever until you are served and until the food comes. I ate the Wiener Schnitzel, which is not recommended in my opinion. It's dripping in fat, tastes like fat and consists of 0.2cm (thickness) of meat and 2cm of breading. The fries are unsalted and limp.

Went while on vacation. Food and beer as expected of every hofbräu location. Staff was a bit slow to take order after sitting down but friendly once attended to. Location close to public transport. Overall good experience.

We were there for the German team's opening game at the 2024 European Championships. The atmosphere was very good with German fans and we were served very well. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good at the time.

The buffet was very large and varied. Something for every taste. From hearty to sweet and very tasty. The service was very friendly and it wasn't crowded. We're happy to recommend it, but we'll be back soon ourselves.

You had the feeling of being at Oktoberfest. The menu was Bavarian style. The price is reasonable for the dish. We'd love to come back again.

Super tasty food, good atmosphere

Typical bavarian place located 20 min away (walking) from the Hamburg central station. The place would checked out for all the stereotypical things you heard from Germany offering a good selection of beers, Schnitzel, bratwurst, party german music and a cheerful ambience. The service was good considering the workload they had, they work fast and they would check every now and then how was everything. I ordered a weisse beer, an original Schnitzel (veal) with bavarian potato salad and a currywurst (to share). Quality and taste was good and it didn't feel heavy afterwards. If you are visiting the city and want to live the german cliché experience this place is great and you definitely will enjoy from good beer, nice meat based food and music. I recommend 100%. PS: they also show Eurocup 2024 matches.

Rarely have we been greeted so warmly when entering a restaurant and given a great seat for Sunday brunch! The food was literally amazing. A huge selection and a great Bavarian atmosphere!

Unfortunately, another tourist trap with bad food that only lives by the name and unfortunately manages to attract customers without any pretensions (I can't understand why the shop is rated so well). I can say that the HB Munich in Berlin on Alex was already a costly disappointment, because the knuckle there was completely over-seasoned because the chefs inject the (probably glutamate-contaminated) seasoning mixture directly into the meat, which has the advantage that the meat... The knuckle remains soft and tender on the inside, but is no longer tasty. It was the same here (tasted by a friend). I had the Wiener Schnitzel myself, which was fried to death, dried out and without much flavor. I wouldn't have been able to finish it without the cranberry sauce. You could also tell that the chicken breast was dry. Well, the service was quick, very friendly and accommodating, but unfortunately that's not enough. The beer is well known, but unfortunately the Williams Christ pear is of the inexpensive variety. I find the kitchen to be a disgrace and more than overpriced for what is on offer. It's a shame, definitely not a recommendation.

I went when it wasn’t too busy, but I imagine it can be a fun and lively atmosphere on certain nights. Service was ok, friendly albeit a little inattentive at times. Overall if you’re looking for a beer hall style dining experience it ticks the box with great beer and very nice food.

Very arrogant and rude administrator, I can’t imagine such a service affiliated with the Hofbrau brand… We have visited your restaurant on Sunday 23.06. It wasn't crowded there, lots of tables remained free without a "reserved" plate. The Administrator proposed to occupy the table next to loud visitors. We have chosen a similar one in terms of capacity but the next after proposed one, which made the administrator mad: he turned out to be rude and insisted on sitting back, while dozens of tables were free - "I said to sit there!".. What? Are we in prison? Of course, we decided to leave this place immediately.

Wrong things were brought, fries completely without salt, service unfriendly: “Could I get some more mayo?”; “Take your colleague’s one.” No need to say more

My wife spontaneously wanted to see the opening game of the Euro 24. It goes without saying that everything was fully booked, but the gentleman on the phone said: "We will find a place for you". So we sat at the bar and had a lot of fun with the bar boys, even if they were very, very stressful at times. The tavern maids also came by again and again and looked after our well-being. It couldn't be better. In contrast to the giant shed in Berlin, it seems more familiar. Even if it's not on the menu: there's aperol for the ladies

Unfortunately, the food (butcher's platter) wasn't all that tasty. The food seemed to us as if it had all been bought at A-i. The knuckle was pre-cooked and then fried until crispy, but with pork you can tell by the taste. The rest of the side dishes weren't that tasty either. All in all we were disappointed. However, the beer was very good and the service was very nice. Seats don't exactly invite you to stay longer. Well, I tried it and that was it. Sorry for the review!

Legend is one of our favorite places in Hamburg. The beers are very good, the food is very delicious. Chiken Legs is recommended, the BBQ sauce is successful.

A very loud location, but really well done. The food was delicious but some of it was too cold for me. Brunch might excuse it. The service was great, super nice. You have to like the music, although I can imagine it being really good for the mood in the evenings.

Now I'm neither a beer drinker nor a big Bavarian fan, and yet I ended up here. Drinks without alcohol... little: Almdudler was warm, Fassbrause was all. A pity. Sausage/cheese salad tasty, but a really small portion. The service is top notch!

Good food and good sanitary facilities

I can compare this to the original in Munich, and I really enjoyed the Hofbräuhaus Hamburg. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food and beer. I went here with a group of people and everyone loved this place, drinks and food. Be aware that the dishes are huge! We had late lunch and none of us wanted dinner or breakfast the next day. Tasty and nice. We got an Enzian after dinner which tasted good to helped digestion. Highly recommend this place!

Live music, great beers and awesome food. The children's meals are great for the price. We had the schnitzel and the crispy pork, both were good and as expected. The restaurant is rather large and has some quiet areas and some louder areas where the musicians are playing. Gave thr service only 1 star as they were very pushy about a tip which left a sour taste.

Traditional German beer house! We had a dish of sausages and beers(!). The food was good. I loved the 1lt beer glass which was easy to drink. Visit it because it's one of the famous and traditional beer shops in Germany.

Good option for Bavarian food even being a big chain. Prices are competitive and if you're a "meater", the Sunday brunch is a heaven on earth for an incredible price. The level of noise in the afternoon, though, is definitely too high and at times it's hard to listen to the people with whom you share the table.
