Restaurant Café Münzburg in Hamburg

I found out about this cafe on Google Maps. The guy who works there creates the atmosphere. We sat down, he immediately lit a candle (it's a small thing, but nice!), and we didn't want to leave. The portions are large and the food is delicious—I'd say it's home-cooked.

Really cozy restaurant with good and flexible service. Absolutely good experience and balance between price and quality.

If a Rhinelander in Hamburg is looking for a place where they can simply enjoy a nice dinner and then have a few beers afterward without being immediately kicked out, this is the perfect place. Don't let the plastic tablecloths put you off; everything else is perfect. Friendly service, the food was delicious, and the beer was good. Of course, you're not getting haute cuisine for €15, but that wasn't what we were looking for. Given these circumstances, we can only give it 5 stars, and if I'm back in Hamburg, I'd gladly end the day here again, as a Rhinelander.

Old restaurant with a lovely ambience and friendly service!

We found this small, seemingly unassuming restaurant. The food was delicious. The price-performance ratio was also right.

The man who served us was incredibly courteous and friendly. We felt very comfortable. The food arrived within a few minutes (about 15 minutes), looked extremely fresh, and tasted really good.

Great traditional german food sadly very quiet. Ideal for guests at Hampton by Hilton, premier inn and Ibis as within 5 minutes walk.

Yes, if you're looking for a rustic and simple restaurant, this is the place to be. It's not a fancy place, just simple, rustic food. Friendly service who are happy to accommodate special requests. The location is rather hidden and not particularly inviting, but first glances are deceiving. As I said, I would and will eat there again if I'm in the area again. I was currently booked into the Ibis Hotel and was searching, and that's how I found this restaurant.

The restaurant was dirty everywhere, cobwebs, greasy cards. I don't want to imagine what the kitchen must look like if the rest of the place is so dirty! We really should have left right away.

Great food, reasonable prices, historic building. Was walking distance from hotel, hidden back street, had the whole place to myself for 2 hours.

Its a Small quaint restaurant, and the service felt very personal. The chef took our orders and also set the table for us, he was really nice and warm. We ordered fish and currywurst. The fish was really good! Fresh, juicy and nicely seasoned with tomato sauce that was divine. Currywurst was good but the sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. We wouldve preferred fried potatoes but the chef was a little busy so he swapped it with fries. Atmosphere is super cosy, the chef lit a candle held in a wine bottle so it felt quite romantic and chill! Plus, having the chef talk to you, cook and bring you the food, felt like being fed in his house!

I had breakfast with my wife and paid only 25 € (coffee included in the price of breakfast). From the very meeting, the owner made an impression, lit a candle for the romantic, fresh flowers in vases, which is also rare, and pleasant music. The place is not crowded. I recommend it.

Hidden restaurant, getting old. No heating and very economical lighting. Food was rushed and carelessly prepared.

Small restaurant that we had to search for a bit because we didn't have internet. It's not a great restaurant but it was enough for us. The service was friendly and the food came to us very quickly. There were two other guests in the Lockal. So there was enough space for us to eat. The atmospheric ferry was ok, I didn't want anything romantic or fancy. That's why the prices were appropriate.

Small pub near Hamburg main station (approx. 10 minutes). Food is delicious. Had herring with fried potatoes, refined with lemon balm. Service is okay. Toilets are clean.

The food was OK (not bad but not worth mentioning either). The service was unbelievable in a negative sense: After paying we saw the price on the card and it didn't match. The waitress then became rude and when it turned out that he had undercharged him by 50 cents, he asked for it in cash and became even more unfriendly. Such a triviality should be solved easily and friendly... certainly not like that! We will never eat there again and cannot recommend this restaurant based on the service.

I can only agree with the positive reviews. Very tasty food, very nice service and effort was made with the decoration. The prices are okay too. After we left a nice tip, he gave my daughter a hefty amount of candy and a bottle of water. So that we don't have to buy anything in the theater but can drink beforehand. Really very accommodating!

The breakfast was ok and cheap. Reasonable price/performance ratio. Real scrambled eggs and no powder/bag (as is often the case) Nice alternative to the overpriced hotel breakfast. Very friendly and attentive host. Gladly again next time

Nice little location. Not too big of a selection, but enough and really very tasty. Service is very nice. Definitely recommended. The prices are also completely reasonable.

One of the best experiences in Hamburg for food. Me and my friends were visiting and especially loved the hockey puck burger buns and the meat which was skinned from the cow. The fries had a dusting of Spice like no others. One of us ordered the Salami toasted sandwich, he was very satisfied after and did not eat again for the weekend. Will come again.

A nice little restaurant with very good value for money. The owner (or employee?) was very friendly and accommodating. Since he had to take over both the kitchen and the service, it took a little longer, but everything was still within reason. We still felt well looked after. And the food was very tasty. The atmosphere was a bit rustic, but somehow really nice. I would go again.

Preis Leistung passt. Schnitzel sind etwas dünn Besitzer/Wirt war sehr freundlich Einfaches Cafè ohne viel drum herum.

Sehr netter Gastwirt aber das Essen war nicht nur von unzureichender Qualität auch in der Menge nicht annähernd ausreichend um einen Erwachsenen zu sättigen. Wir hatten das Pfeffersteak mit Pommes und das Putengyros mit Pommes. Die Kinderteller waren leider auch ziemlich überschaubar (4 trockene Nuggets mit einer kleinen Hand voll Pommes). Im Gastraum sollte man auch besser einen Pullover tragen da es etwas kühl war.

Ich hatte einen Burger (Cheeseburger mit Salat und Pommes) und der war soweit ganz lecker. Das kleine Restaurant ist in einer schlechten Gegend und es lagen einige Obdachlose vor der Tür, die auch in den Laden kamen aber dort schnell wieder herausgeschickt wurden. Das Ambiente ist sehr nett, natürlich kein Luxus, was jedoch durch den netten Koch/Kellner, kompensiert wurde, der mich immer mit einem Lächeln mit Madame angesprochen hat :) (Der Verdacht besteht, dass er Drogen verkauft, aber das Essen war lecker also mphf🤙)

Der Wirt war voll nett. Und das Chilli war ein Hit. Auch die Spaghetti Cabonara waren super. Auch wenn es von außen nicht so einladend wirkt zahlt sich ein Besuch definitiv aus 😊

Das Essen war vollkommen in Ordnung und das Ambiente in dem kleinen Restaurant war nett. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und unsere Bestellung zügig aufgenommen. Als Gastronom sollte man nur nicht über seine Gäste lästern, wenn sie in Hörweite sind. Wir hatten zwei Gerichte bestellt und für unsere beiden kleinen Kinder noch jeweils zwei kleine Teller dazu, damit sie bei uns mit essen konnten. Wenn das nicht gewünscht ist, sollte so etwas direkt bei der Bestellung dazu gesagt werden. Nachdem unser Essen serviert wurde und ich nach den Tellern für die Kinder gefragt habe, hörte man den Keller nur sagen "Immer diese Gäste, die sich etwas teilen. Ich hasse so etwas!"

Gyros für 12€ Wenig Tzatziki, wenig Salatsauce, wenig Gyros und wenig Pommes. Im allgemeinen einfach wenig zu Essen, könnte die Portion fast nochmal verdrücken. Die Getränke sind lecker und billig. Wenn ich jetzt satt wäre, dann wären es 4 Sterne.

Frisch hergestellte und selbstgemachte Speisen zu adäquaten Preisen. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Große Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken.

Essen war sehr lecker. Ich hatte das Hähnchengyros mit Pommes (war geschnitten wie Geschnetzeltes) aber geschmacklich trotzdem gut gewürzt und dadurch lecker. Die Bedienung war freundlich. Das Lokal ist nichts besonderes, würde sagen klein und nett. Wollten zum Schluss noch eine Nachspeise, die Bedienung ist aber längere Zeit nicht mehr gekommen, wodurch wir nur noch bezahlt hatten.

Der Besitzer/Kellner/Koch war überaus freundlich und hat sehr nett bedient. Bratkartoffeln waren mein Highlight. Wenn man ehrlich Essen gehen will und satt werden will zu einem guten Preis, dann ist das der richtige Ort.

Excellent quality food that is cooked to perfection. We were just looking for something within walking distance of our hotel and stumbled on this gem. Lovely atmosphere with candles and flowers on the table and light music all at very reasonable prices.

Kleines Restaurant mit einfacher Einrichtung. Weiße Kunststofftischdecken sind aber wirklich nicht gut. Service war sehr nett, aufmerksam und freundlich. Essen war frisch bereitet, lecker und zudem noch günstig.

Wir waren aufgrund der guten Bewertungen hier zum Mittagessen. Es hat schon angefangen, dass bei der Getränkebestellung eine Fanta statt dem bestellten Cola gebracht wurde. Auf Nachfrage wurde dann doch das gewünschte Cola gebracht, nachdem zuerst gefragt wurde, ob eine Fanta auch ok ist. Für die Zubereitung von zwei Essen mussten wir ca eine halbe Stunde warten. Das Essen war maximal Durchschnitt, nichts besonderes, bei den Preisen hätte ich tatsächlich etwas mehr erwartet. Nach dem Essen haben wir knapp 45 min gewartet, keine Servicekraft in Sicht. Nachdem auch auf Rufen niemand aufgetaucht ist, haben wir das Geld auf den Tisch gelegt und sind gegangen. Erst bei ertönen der Türklingel kam dann doch jemand und fragte ob wir schon gehen. Naja Service geht anders...

Wir waren als Gruppe unterwegs(50-90 Jahre alt). Wir waren auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant. Durch Zufall fanden wir die Münzburg und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Altehrwürdige Gebäude hat uns sehr angesprochen. Die Speisen waren alle sehr gut und das zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Der Inhaber, Koch und Servicekraft ist sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir waren am 19.und 20 April zu Gast. Ich wünsche Amin alles Gute und.sage Danke!

Bedienung sehr freundlich, Essen für den Preis okay. Ein Haar im Cola Glas bleibt leider ein Haar. Die Aussage " Tut mir leid, Hauptsache nicht im Essen" passt so nicht. Daher nur 3 Sterne.
