It was packed and we were simply left standing there with the message "There's no room." We ended up ordering snacks outside. Unfortunately, they weren't very good, except for the hot chocolate.

The classic roast goose with red cabbage and side dishes was excellent, including the service. Please reserve in advance.

A quick stop during a hike; good fries served in a recycled container with a wooden fork. Reasonable prices for a roadside eatery.

A rustic forest inn with a charming atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and service-oriented, and they treat even older guests who may have difficulty with everything very professionally and generously. Since we had a person with a weakened immune system with us, we unfortunately couldn't sit inside, so we used the covered outdoor area and warmed ourselves with coffee or mulled wine inside and under the infrared heaters outside. Parking and hiking trails are available at the inn. Please note the opening hours!

We went to Corell for goose dinner. The service was attentive, not intrusive but present. Side dishes were available upon request: potatoes, dumplings, fried potatoes, or croquettes... served with red cabbage and gravy... The goose was delicious, although a little too dry for my taste.

I had the smaller portion of roast beef, and it was very filling. It was delicious! We also did the torchlight procession and had a nice, short walk through the Niendorf game reserve with torches.

It's simply lovely here, a nice atmosphere! We drank mulled wine on the terrace, and had a delicious cookie with it.

One of the few restaurants serving German, seasonal cuisine. Very original, built entirely of wood. 125 seats inside, 80 on the terrace, so the food is prepared in advance, and there's quite a buzz when the place is full. A lovely summer terrace with coffee and cake is located behind the building. There's also a separate snack bar outside. Reservations are highly recommended; I also order my food in advance: the menu is available online. Everything is then handled very quickly. This isn't a pub; they've planned for multiple bookings. If you need the table for an extended period (birthday party, company event, etc.), please let them know when you make your reservation.

I had dinner at Waldcafé Corell in Hamburg for a business meeting and was thoroughly satisfied. Both the location and the food were outstanding. The service was attentive and of a very high standard. The quality of the dishes and their presentation were superb – honest and authentic. It's clear that the food is cooked with passion, and you can taste it. There's a particularly interesting selection for game lovers. I can wholeheartedly recommend Waldcafé Corell and will definitely be back.

A wonderful place for a meal with friends or family. I've rarely experienced such good service elsewhere, even when it's busy and hectic. I'd happily return.

A very nice and charmingly decorated restaurant, perfect for coffee and cake after a walk. Or you can grab some fries here after an afternoon of playing at the playground. We also like to come here for the all-you-can-eat kale dinner at Christmas. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the service is very attentive.

One of the few remaining traditional restaurants; the service and food are very good. A great and varied selection, including seasonal produce.

The price/performance ratio was completely out of control. Hot chocolate for over €5 was powdered cocoa from a fully automatic machine. The apple rings with cinnamon we ordered were just two tiny apple rings with very hard, almost burnt batter under mountains of really poor-quality vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. Pure fat and sugar, you could barely taste the apple. Charging €10 for this is truly outrageous. Service was also rather mediocre to poor. We only received a card upon request, and to pay we had to go to the counter because no one came by to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted to pay. Unfortunately, cheap convenience food at exorbitant prices. A real shame.

A family-friendly restaurant, it also has a small separate room for family celebrations. The food is good, home-style, and small portions are available upon request. The price/performance ratio is reasonable. We sat inside, but there's a lovely outdoor area surrounding the restaurant. Dogs are welcome.

A truly beautiful, wooden log cabin nestled in the middle of the forest, cozy and rustic, but rather expensive. The small farmhouse breakfast was delicious, but the ham spread on it was incredibly salty. We found the iced chocolate, at €7.30, unreasonably expensive. It's not for those on a tighter budget. But the atmosphere there is lovely.

A cute café where you can take a break after a stroll in the area. Unfortunately, it was very crowded during my visit, which meant the service suffered a bit. Still, I highly recommend it!

The ambiance and service are worthy of 5 stars. So far, we've been satisfied with the food, although there could be improvement. Today, unfortunately, I was more than disappointed. We had the expensive dish: venison medallions with string beans in bacon, hash browns, and chanterelle cream sauce. There were no string beans, but rather salted green beans mixed with bacon cubes. The cream sauce was a simple, tasteless roux. There was no mushroom flavor. The chanterelles were gritty. The so-called hash browns were like potato casserole cut out of a slab, deep-fried and ready-made, not hash browns. As an alternative, I chose the homemade bread dumpling. A rubber ball with no flavor. The venison medallion was bloody, slowly cooking. I had to discreetly spit out the tendons into the napkin. The sauce eventually became a bit of a flour sauce with bloody meat juices. A no-go. Heartburn at home. Too bad. We've always been satisfied so far.

Hello, I have been a guest in this restaurant for 30 years, we have always liked it, but be good to the host and you will also be a good guest, if you don't like something then it will be difficult, according to the motto you don't have to come back 😥

Unfortunately, I have to give my favorite place a really bad review… actually, not the place itself, but the owner, Frank Corell… I dared to order a schnitzel "to go" at the kiosk garden… after being extensively insulted for saying that it's only possible inside the restaurant (2 meters away…), I actually ordered it there… schnitzel with fried potatoes… and I also had to listen to the lecture about how there were two cash registers, etc. As a guest, I'm not interested if the employee just has to turn around to hand over the order. Unfortunately, after I complained about my order, the owner made it clear to me that he didn't care about the many, many years we spent there… What a shame ☹️

Good food but nothing special, great ambience outside, staff very courteous

We waited forever—20 minutes for drinks alone. Then another 40 minutes for the food. When we asked about it, the rather rude reply was that it was full and waiting times were normal. If that's normal, why don't they hire another server?! The food was only mediocre at high prices. But given the location, they can probably afford anything. In any case, we won't be coming back.

Our company outing took place on July 18, 2025. For the first time, I was part of the organizing team for a group of up to 32 people. Waldcafe Corell took the biggest burden off my shoulders: We only had to provide the final number of participants one day in advance. They arranged a special appointment beforehand to discuss all the details. The package was very attractive and fair, with great advice, and our special requests were accommodated beyond our expectations. We wanted to have brunch outside on the terrace, weather permitting, with a view of the natural surroundings and pony pasture. The weather was very changeable, so they had set up the table inside the evening before. On the day of the outing, they voluntarily moved everything outside for us, and when we arrived, everything was ready. I am so grateful for this unique family business!

My parents have been bringing me to Corell time and time again, and it's become a ritual to celebrate my birthday 🎂 there with a good meal. But we're there anyway, as the Niendorfer Gehege is also a great place for a stroll. You should make a reservation, though, as word has gotten around that the food there is very good and the service is excellent.

The food, as well as the coffee and cake selection, is very good, although there's no vegan cake selection! Not even a vegan cake. But plant-based milk is available for all coffee specialties.

The idyllic location right next to the Niendorf enclosure is simply fantastic. And the kids can even go pony riding right next door. The icing on the cake: the super attentive and warm service – especially the lovely Elko: always there with a lot of heart and passion. In this restaurant, the consistent team is immediately noticeable – many employees have been with the company for years. That speaks highly of the management. For guests, this means well-coordinated service, consistently high quality, and a pleasant, personal atmosphere!

The staff is very friendly, the place is clean, and the food is delicious. The menu features wild meat, burgers, and homemade cakes. The place is ideal after a hike in the woods; it's an excellent choice for solo or group dining. Payments are available by cash or card.

A day-trip restaurant. Child-friendly, wheelchair-accessible, and dog-friendly. It's noisy but cozy, like a hiker's hut. Parking is available nearby and, with patience, some distance away. The surrounding Niendorfer Gehege is ideal for a stroll afterward.

Sitting in the beer garden section of the Corell in nice weather and simply enjoying one of the truly impeccably and deliciously prepared dishes, gazing at the greenery, and simply switching off – that's a real quality of life. Yes, on weekends at lunchtime, it can be absolutely packed. Young families and walkers love it, too. The always busy kiosk section at the front of the restaurant alone is a testament to that. Inside, where it's rustically cozy, the selection in the cake display can be overwhelming on some days. Very tasty items. The game dishes are also impeccable. Anyone who can come by bike is well advised, because at rush hour, it becomes a real adventure trying to park their car here. I, for one, love it here, regardless of the lack of parking.

A lovely restaurant with a hearty, home-style menu. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. My highlight is the kiosk area. There you can get warm snacks and ice cream, as well as hot and cold drinks. Definitely recommended after a bike ride through the enclosure.

We were there for a family dinner. The selection of food and drinks was very good, and the staff was extremely friendly. The atmosphere was excellent. Ideal for walkers, as they offer a wide selection of coffee and cakes. In the evenings, you should usually reserve a table in advance, as you might otherwise have to wait. This restaurant is highly recommended.

I've been coming here since I was a child (about 35 years ago), and not much has changed—which is exactly what I appreciate and love about this place. It's incredibly cozy inside, and the sun terrace is great in the summer. My favorite, though, is the outdoor bar. Here, you can get ice cream, drinks, fries, potato salad, and much more to go. Perfect for a quick stop during a walk. I now bring my own child here, and I'm happy that she can relive the same childhood memories. I hope Cafe Corell stay for a long time!

The food is edible, but the service leaves much to be desired. Considering the price, I expected a higher standard. They serve frozen fries, which was a bit disappointing. However, the setting surrounded by the forest is a definite plus and adds to the experience.

It's a monopoly there. Almost everyone stops in for a drink after a long walk or to enjoy the weather. The cakes are delicious, but I find the drink prices particularly high. The menu is a bit outdated.

We love coming here. It opened in 1981 and has retained its charm. The food and cakes are so good that it's advisable to reserve a table in advance. It's always been busy when I've been there. The staff are attentive and helpful without being intrusive. They're friendly. We'll be happy to come back!

We were here a year ago and because we liked it and the food was delicious, we were happy to come back. Unfortunately this time the food wasn't tasty at all. There were several of us - hardly anything tasted good. The food wasn't seasoned, super greasy and most of the vegetables probably came from a can. For the prices.. no thanks. You can certainly have coffee and cake there, but we won't be coming back for food. We were very disappointed.

Especially during the asparagus season, what is served here is what the season and the region have to offer - fresh, delicious and superbly prepared. The team? Simply great. Always friendly and attentive - just as you would hope, but unfortunately rarely experienced these days. Here you really feel seen and valued as a guest. By the time the sun falls through the trees and you're sitting on the terrace, you don't really want to leave anymore. For me, the Waldcafé Corell is a favorite place with soul and that's exactly why I keep coming back. Highly recommended.
