Worst Indian food I’ve tried in Frankfurt. The palak paneer had whole palak leaves which one can barely swallow instead of a puréed gravy! Who makes Palak paneer like that?! Samosa chaat was a joke - it was with fried potatoes and ketchup instead of authentic samosa chat with chole, yogurt, spicy green chutney and tamarind chutney! Very disappointing. They used to be much better

Pakistani-german fusion cuisine. The butter chicken was sweetened, the Nan was not crisp. There are other good Indian restaurants in the area, avoid this one if you're looking for authentic Indian food.

Ordered chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and a cheese naan through Wolt. Unfortunately, the meal was very underwhelming. The chicken in both dishes was tough, and the flavours were surprisingly bland. The butter chicken was excessively creamy, while the tikka masala tasted like a generic curry without any of the distinct spices and depth you’d expect from such a classic dish. The naan was doughy and lacked flavour. Had it not been for the 40% discount through the app, I would have felt completely overcharged for what I received at full price. Overall, it was edible but far below the standard I’d expect for these dishes.

I stumbled upon the Himalayan Lantern by chance and I'm thrilled! Despite the hectic pace of the day, the owner is super attentive and friendly, which makes the overall atmosphere incredibly cozy – even as a single guest, I felt very welcome. The food (butter paneer masala) was incredibly good! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Frankfurt.

Delicious cuisine, good price-performance ratio

After a long day, we decided to eat here after reading the reviews... and we had a wonderful time! The vindaloo and chicken tikka were truly delicious and full of flavor. The service was excellent: the staff were friendly, attentive, and hospitable, making us feel instantly welcome. Everything was served quickly and with a smile. We will definitely be back!

We've only ever ordered for pickup, but we've never been disappointed! The food is incredibly delicious – I especially recommend the chicken dishes, as the meat has always been so tender. The mango curry, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala all taste delicious. The appetizers are also highly recommended :) The food is prepared super quickly, tastes fresh, and the portions are more than generous.

we had a very long day of travel, we took this togo to our hotel room. very friendly staff, spoke English, and was able to accommodate our tree nut allergy, which usually is almost impossible for most Indian restaurants, this food was excellent. if you want no spice they can do that, they made it too mild for me but that was a suprise. we will come back and recommend

We were just eating there and I have rarely been so surprised by a restaurant. At first we were greeted very nicely and immediately felt at home. The food came after about 10 minutes and both the chicken korma and chicken mango curry were delicious. The chicken was tender, the curry was deliciously seasoned and Galic Naan - everything was excellent. We'll be back!

We were already regular guests of the Lanternchen's previous owners and were always very satisfied there. Now we tried the successors and were bitterly disappointed. The food was still okay, but not comparable to before. But the service was actually almost non-existent. So there was no place where you would like to stay a little longer after eating for dessert or coffee.

Surprise to find a good desi Restaurant in Frankfurt

The butter chicken was so watery. Even though I ordered garlic naan, I got normal naan. The jalfrezi wasn't spicy at all, even though I added spiciness level 2. In the Butter Chicken I wanted extra chicken and I paid extra and there was no extra chicken in it. The butter chicken was terrible, neither had the right taste nor the right consistency. Pure disappointment!!!

I host a dinner every month visiting a different Indian restaurant in Frankfurt and surroundings snd sometimes we have a repeat visit at the ones that really stand out! We all loved the food here whether it was veg or chicken and lamb entrees! Staff very attentive. Butter chicken was most popular and the desserts and samosa chaat also stood out! Our group of internationals will definitely come again

The food on site is really delicious. I ate here for the first time, usually only to take away, but it was also very good and filling. The ambience is simple and the service can still be improved. 5 stars for the food.

I ate there for the second time today. The dishes are well portioned, you'll feel full but won't feel overly full after your visit to the restaurant. I can recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the drinks such as the Indian lemonade, coconut naan or chai tea with milk are also tasty. Personally, the chicken chili was too sweet for me. All in all, a solid Indian restaurant with an extensive menu that you can visit with a clear conscience.

Great Indian food. Every dish had a distinct and delicious taste. The chicken pakora appetisers could have been a bit crispier And they could have brought condiments out with poppadoms. But other than that the food was very good.

I'm actually a big fan of Asian food. But the chicken breast meat I had was extremely hard and dry, so I could hardly swallow it after chewing it for a long time. When cooking at home, I've never managed to dry out the meat so much. Next time, if ever, I would order a vegetarian dish there. We had the impression that the service staff was not very motivated.

A wonderful little Indian restaurant, We were warmly greeted and served by the boss. The lunch menu was delicious and inexpensive, we chose the level of spiciness ourselves, everything was very tasty, the Lasi mango or coconut were like we were on vacation. The ambience has an Indian touch, the decoration and wall design are harmonious, the flowers were fresh on the table.

We ate here a few days ago. It was great to find Indian food that tasted Indian in a very authentic way. The only slightly odd thing was their palak paneer. Everywhere else it’s made from puréed spinach and chunks of paneer. It was the opposite here (paneer grated but spinach almost whole). Except for this tiny thing, the food, service and ambience was simply excellent

Very tasty food (you ask about the level of spiciness), great service, nice selection for vegetarians, food can also be taken away. Very nice atmosphere inside, outside you have to be a little tougher (subway, 24 hour kiosk). We sat outside and everything was relaxed and friendly :-)

Delicious indian food right outside the U-Bahn Ostbahnhof. The Butter Chicken is excellent and the homemade Butter Nan is soft and tasteful! The waiter is very kind and the meals are not expensive!
