My absolute favorite restaurant 🥰 The service is simply excellent, and you feel truly welcome. The ambiance is top-notch, very pleasant, and inviting. The food was also fantastic and arrived surprisingly quickly. I would especially like to thank our waiter, Lovedeep Singh: He served us with great respect, attention, and warmth. All the other staff members were also very friendly and accommodating. I have absolutely no complaints; in fact, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. 🤩

Delicious, nice service, sometimes a bit disorganized

Would have given 0 reviews if possible. Staff is very very disgustingly rude. One guys tells us to sit for buffet, when we went inside to start, other guy without manners and etiquettes literally told us that restaurant is closed. This happened at 22:40 PM and restaurant closes at 11:30 PM. There were people eating inside. I have seriously this feeling that Indians settled here in Germany do not respect Indians who have just come here especially students. They have this attitude that Why you are here. There was time for the restaurant to close but still these guys are like just get the hell out of here. Not expected from an Indian to other Indian. Won’t suggest this restaurant anybody.

For those craving the Tamil non vegetarian cuisine as we are used to back home, then Anjappar Chettinad Frankfurt does justice. I have only one gripe, this being a Chettinad restaurant I wonder why they keep playing only Hindi music all the time and are reluctant to play Tamil music. This spoils the ambience and nativity of a Chettinad restaurant.

Definitely the best Indian restaurant in Germany. Perfect! Excellent professional restaurant staff, extremely friendly and kind, pay attention to every little thing to their guests! The restaurant is modernly decorated and has high quality standards! Great atmosphere and atmosphere of the restaurant! Very neat and clean, definitely to the highest standards! Great atmosphere of Indian music in the background. The food is excellent with a large selection of buffet, everything is fresh and excellent for the taste satisfaction of every visitor, it will certainly satisfy many tastes of excellent Indian food lovers! I have no complaints, praise for everything from the food, the ambiance, the staff and the general impression that the restaurant left on me and my group of tourists that I brought! I recommend everyone to come to this wonderful restaurant and see for themselves the quality and be satisfied and plan a return visit 🙂!

The taste is not authentic South Indian. The vada, sambhar etc nothing is authentic. This is a restaurant run by North Indians. It is good for North Indian dishes. If you are looking for authentic South Indian restaurant, please do not go to this restaurant. At least I was disappointed being there.

A great thank you to Mr. Lovedeep for being extremely kind and patient serving our table of 9 people. It wasn't easy handling so many people but he always wore a genuine smile and delivered exactly what we wanted. We couldn't be happier. It was indeed a pleasant lunch in Anjapar Chettinad as always. The food is authentic and the people are extremely nice. Thank you🙏🏽

You can't complain about a buffet for 20 euros. Many people say the service wasn't attentive. I much prefer it that way. They let you feast in peace without constantly asking for drinks.

I am dissapointed with the service. We ordered specific food and said beer. Wiater did not ask which beer. He just bought the big and expensive one. I agree we could have specified. But since there are multiple size and brand he should have waited or clarified before deciding what we need. Basics of undertsnding customer need.

We ordered a chicken dosa and tried the buffet. For drinks we ordered: mango lassi, nimbu pani and cola. Everything was really good and tasty. I'd just recommend them to use less oil next time while cooking; it was too much. I know indian dishes have a lot of oil, but it'd be good if they try to use less next time. Too much oil gives an impression that the food is oily and unhealthy. Also, I'd recommend them to introduce mix dosa, filled with any meat and potato and cheese. I've tried this dose and this dose tastes fantastic. Overall still good. Our server was extremely friendly and kind that's why I am giving it full 5 stars. Service is extremely important and if it's done well it is an big positive sign to me.

When I arrived at the restaurant, I was immediately disappointed by the atmosphere. Sad Hindi songs were playing, which seemed completely out of place in a restaurant that claims to specialize in Chettinad cuisine. As a Tamil who has traveled a long distance to enjoy an authentic Tamil dining experience, I found the music selection very disappointing. Tamil songs, or at least instrumental music, would have been more in keeping with the cultural mood. The food, however, was truly delicious, and the staff was respectful and accommodating. The authenticity of the Chettinad flavors was outstanding, just as I've come to expect from Anjappar restaurants in various regions of Tamil Nadu. With a more appropriate atmosphere, this restaurant could offer a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We were also offered a complimentary rasmalai at the end.

On weekends, there's a buffet for €19.90. The quality is very good and the food tastes authentic.

The waiters are racist and rude, also the manager is extremely unprofessional. We wanted to have breakfast. It was way too noisy as they were cleaning the outside area. Hence we asked for a table in the inner section. To which he outright said “No” very rudely. On asking the reason, said it is reserved. However there was no one as we did not see anyone coming for next 90 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous and very unprofessional. Bad service.

Had a lot of expectations from this place because of the hype. Firstly the service took some time, no one bothered to take order for a long time. The food was served soon so bonus point for that. Just a warning like most of places that serves rice along with the dish here one has to order separately( not a negative point just letting you know) I ordered a Chettinad chicken roast, the good point was unlike other restaurants here chicken with bones was served which is really nice as chicken with bones tends to have more flavour. The flavour of the Roast didn’t reach the authentic levels, just felt that was missing something.

The owner and the staff welcomed us warmly during a city tour. You have to like some of the dishes on offer, but what we ate was very good and well seasoned.

14 eur all you can eat lunch buffet in Frankfurt. Menu is small but enough for lunch. Drinks are expensive.

Our experience at Anjappar Restaurant in Frankfurt was extremely disappointing. We ordered the chicken meals, poori, chilli chicken, and chicken lollipop and not a single item was worth it. The chilli chicken had an overpowering vinegar taste that made it almost inedible. The poori looked stale and poorly prepared. The chicken meals came with soft, leftover pappadam, which was very off-putting. Overall, the food lacked freshness, taste, and quality. We will not be coming back, and we definitely won’t recommend this place to any of our friends. A very poor experience.

Cost worthy, and taste is good..

The service is very poor they act very cold to the customers and also talking about their buffet meals , they are so bland and all the dishes taste the same . The have no salt or flavour. I myself felt sick after having their buffet meals. I request anyone reading this never eat from this restaurant everrrr.

The food was okay, but the service desperately needs improvement. Basic courtesy and a friendly attitude were completely lacking. Even a simple smile or a polite tone when taking your order makes a big difference—especially when customers are paying for service and not asking for anything free. I was particularly struck by the behavior of some employees. I witnessed a waiter mocking a physically challenged customer through facial expressions and gestures. Whether intentional or not, this was absolutely disrespectful and completely inappropriate. Fortunately, the customer didn't notice, otherwise it would have been very hurtful. Even worse was the body language in general—when customers asked for something, the employees' behavior seemed dismissive and unfriendly. This kind of behavior leaves a very bad impression. The customers I observed were respectful and polite to the staff. It is all the more disappointing when this respect is not reciprocated. I strongly recommend that management train the staff in customer service and how to treat people with respect.

The staff who is working in this restaurant is so rude! Im an indian! And the way they treat their own country people is so disgusting. The food tastes fine! No complaints about the food! But the people they are just not good! You need to improve the customer service so that people think of coming next time to your restaurant ! Im never visiting them ever! And suggest you too to visit eat doori instead! As their food and customer service is spot on!!

Just came out of the restaurant. Very bad service…Tried this place after reading some positive reviews, but it didn’t live up to the hype. Especially if you go with kids, they don’t feel welcoming.Probably won’t return unless they improve.

Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The selection was meager, and the food wasn't worth €20. The shop smelled of stinking fish, and to top it all off, a mouse walked around in front of us.

I had ordered Chicken 65 Biryani and Veg thali. Both items were terrible. I have been to Indian restaurants all over Europe and I must say this had to be one of the worst food experiences. The ambience was nice and service was good though.

I have been there a couple of times and it was good most of the times. But yesterday I was there once again and wanted to write a review about it. Firstly, regarding the food, most items in the buffet were spoilt. It was even having bad smell. Secondly, regarding the service, it was really really really bad. The owner gave the worst service. Would only appreciate the service of two servers there. Don’t know their names - one was a guy from Kerala I guess and another who spoke English and Hindi. I don’t have other Information about them unfortunately. Everyone else in the restaurant including the owner were very rude not just to us but to other customers as well. There was one guy who we noticed particularly in the nearby table who asked the owner if anyone can speak in a South Indian language as he had a few questions about the dishes that he wanted to order. The owner just yelled at him with so much of attitude that he can only talk in English, German or Hindi. I understand that not all people can speak many languages but that is definitely not the right way to tell. The most basic way is to tell - Sorry Sir, I don’t speak that language and I will see if anyone else here can speak and I will get back to you. This would have been a good response. How tough would that be ? Unfortunately I couldn’t speak that language so I couldn’t jump in and help either. Lastly about the atmosphere, the place was not clean and had a weird unpleasant smell. Just giving 2 stars here to indicate that even that seemed better than the food and service. Would have never expected this from a huge chain of restaurants- Anjappar !

Food was ok! Mutton biriyani didn’t taste like one. Mutton were like rubber and will clean floors. Managers attitude terrible and rude.

We were visiting this restaurant on Saturday evening in a group. The service was very Very excellent, especially the food And the service we received their from the Pakistani worker named Assad. He was constantly asking us if everything was to our satisfaction, and if you were happy with the food. He took extreme care of us ans was very hospitable. We will definitely come back next time. We definitely recommend this restaurant and its great food and service. The owner was also very friendly.

Disgusting service. Stop the buffet if you misers cannot afford it. The service employees keep on staring at you while you eat and take the food from the buffet. Consistently getting horrible service at the restaurant. The employees are incompetent to be in the service of the restaurant. This restaurant has average food quality for an average price. But when this is accompanied by horrible service, this resaturant turns out to be below average. So what happened to me the last 2 times I went here.....I go here to eat the buffet, but the service keeps on staring at you rudely. They are just out there scanning you for the quantity of food you eat here. And they give rude expressions. But today one young man just was so rude that he came to me and told me to take less utensils, while I was sitting on my table. (Despite of tge multiple times they came near my table to check how much I have been eating). It is a shame. Indian culture is about making your guests comfortable and feel welcomed, not to treat them like a burden. If yall are so worried about the quantity of food eaten by my buffet customers, please stop the buffet if yall cannot afford it. Stop being a miser or give your employees better training @management and @owners. It was sad, and I am never going to such a reataurant where you are being judged for eating every bite of food. It is just disgusting behaviour.

I went for buffet lunch. The waiters were rude and uninterested to ask or serve food. They also put restrictions on the spoons and bowls for buffet. One per person. This doesn't make sense as they had so many gravies and dals. Won't recommend.

Poor quality of food and very bad manager, there was a copper metal in the food, when we ask the Restarunt Manger he doesn't care about that and said if you want to eat you can eat otherwise leave the restaurant. What a ridiculous attitude, he doesn't care about the customers. Don't spoil your health.

Worst experience. Worst Service. Found lid(flaschendecken) in Beer glass. No hygiene. Staff behavior is very rude, we asked 4-5 times to take our order and finally someone took the order after 15-20 mints. We requested to serve water first as we were with kids and kids are thirsty, wanted to have water but no one served the water on time, finally someone came after 10-15 mint with water. When we finished our beer more than half we found lid(cap) in one of our beer glass and showed it to main person on the reception but he did not even said sorry for this. Very upset with the staff behavior. In the end we ordered extra garlic naans but nobody serve it, we waited for more than 10-15 mints then we finished the dinner without having the last time. Overall it was a wrong decision to visit this place, we regret for it. worst experience, will not recommend to visit this place specially with family.

I had a fantastic takeaway of the Mutton Biryani in January, but my recent visit for a Sunday lunch was disappointing. The restaurant was out of many dishes, the service was subpar, and the wobbly table had to be fixed. The atmosphere was dark, uninviting, and poorly ventilated, making it feel more like a dingy club than an authentic Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, my cousin even felt sick due to the lack of ventilation. This place is in desperate need of a makeover and staff training. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

The restaurant is located just at a 5 minute walk from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and the restaurant has amazing ambience. Moreover, the food is extremely delicious. It feels like having your lunch /dinner in India. Food is scrumptious and has authentic Indian taste. I'll highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who is a fan of Indian cuisine.

The food was very average and not up to the mark since we ordered average spice and they prepared with burning spices and the restaurant manager‘s very rude behaviour is not at all acceptable. I heard that his rude behaviour towards Indians always. Let’s teach a good lesson on his behavioral issue of this testaurant. Shortly I complain to the official food control authorities on this restaurant’s behaviour.

We visited the Indian restaurant today and unfortunately our overall experience was disappointing - especially due to the service. When we arrived we took our time perusing the menu. However, we had to wait around 10 minutes before anyone even took care of us. We finally called a waitress over to place our order. She didn't write anything down, just memorized the order. Shortly afterwards she brought the drinks - but instead of the mineral water I ordered, I received still water. We initially overlooked this error. A little later the waitress came back and asked if we would like our dish with lamb, even though I had already specifically chosen chicken when ordering. When I clarified this, she reacted with a strange laugh and then seemed to have fun with her colleagues. The food was served about 10-15 minutes later by another waiter. He joked that our dish would be half chicken and half lamb. When I pointed out that we had only ordered chicken from the start, he simply responded with a flippant remark and wished us bon appetit. During our entire stay, no waiter asked if the food was OK or if we needed anything else. We actually planned to order another Coke, but since no one was paying attention to us or even looking at us, we ended up leaving it alone. When we wanted to pay, we were directed to the cash register. There we noticed that the wrong dish - lamb instead of chicken - was being charged, which meant an extra charge of two euros. When we mentioned the mistake, the cashier reacted annoyed and commented: "You're causing such a drama because of two euros?" He dismissed our objection that it wasn't about the amount but rather about the disrespectful treatment with a curt "Yeah, okay, everything's fine." The colleague in the background also seemed to be just anxious to get rid of us as quickly as possible. In summary, the food tasted impeccably and was served quickly - the kitchen team deserves praise here. Unfortunately, the service was disastrous: inattentive, rude and disrespectful. Based on this experience, we cannot recommend the restaurant if pleasant service is important to you.

Today I had a lunch buffet for €13.90 in an Indian restaurant in Frankfurt am Main. The selection was really large, there were many different dishes, so there was something for everyone. In terms of hygiene, everything seemed very clean and well-kept. Overall a great experience - good food, fair prices and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd love to come back!

I will give 0 or even minus review to this restaurant. 1. They are serving expired food especially expired and smelly biriyani 2. They are charging 15 euro for even four years old kid 3. Vessels and dishes are not cleaned properly 4. Waiters and others servant are not responding properly .. I have complained about the expired food and they are replied as yes for the money that you are giving only this type of food only we will give ,, I was shocked ,,,, total waste ,, I will never go this restaurant in my life time again

Stumbled at this place while trying to find a good mix of south indian and north Indian food… Loved their Grilled items, dosa, Good ambience and large seating area..

We had dinner at this place, tried to pay with AMEX credit card but this place didn't had amex. They said they accept only Cash/Apple pay/credit card. But didn't accept Amex. As we didn't have cash for the alternative situation we asked if there is any way to pay via PayPal. They said its also not possible and I had to literally wait for a longer time with my kids in the cash paying section until we find an alternative way to pay. This left us with very uncomfortable & unpleasant experience overall!

The place is near the hbf, clean and big. The food was alright. We had the buffet for 13.90 on a friday afternoon. The chicken curry was authentic chettinad but the biriyani tasted like tomato rice, kind of like the ones you find in hospital canteens in Tamilnadu lol. I liked the aloo chaat, pulao and sabjis. Kesari, khadi was very below average. The chicken tikka masala tasted raw. But on the whole, the buffet was worth it. The service was really good. Our waiter was very nice and funny.

The service & atmosphere is good. I went there three times and tried the lunch buffet on weekdays, always. I love the pannier dishes from their buffet However, The key issues of the Buffet: - Cost : 13.90 € which may vary! - Feels like, the rest of the food from some other day or order! - The items on the buffet menu are not the same and may vary even when you start to eat. If you get a mutton biryani from a pot, for the next round they may put chicken biryani in it, and will make you surprise 🫢! - Only chicken and if you are lucky Mutton biryani with some mutton bons as their Non vegetarian buffet! - Salad in the buffet is just a comedy 🤣! One time try with your non Indian friends is a good idea.

We visited Anjappar recently, and honestly, it was a pretty disappointing experience. We waited for quite a while, but no one came to take our order. To make it worse, a family who arrived after us got their order taken first, which felt unfair. The food was okay—nothing special—but the staff didn’t bother to ask how it was or if we needed anything else. The service just lacked basic professionalism, and it really took away from the experience. Hopefully, they work on improving this, they need more staff because it left a bad impression.
