Very nice dining experience with excellent tasting food. I ordered the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and was glad I did. It had the right amount of spice and the flavors were very rich.

Today I had a lunch buffet for €13.90 in an Indian restaurant in Frankfurt am Main. The selection was really large, there were many different dishes, so there was something for everyone. In terms of hygiene, everything seemed very clean and well-kept. Overall a great experience - good food, fair prices and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd love to come back!

Really authentic Indian cuisine for the first time in Germany. That was soul food for us. Thanks

I will give 0 or even minus review to this restaurant. 1. They are serving expired food especially expired and smelly biriyani 2. They are charging 15 euro for even four years old kid 3. Vessels and dishes are not cleaned properly 4. Waiters and others servant are not responding properly .. I have complained about the expired food and they are replied as yes for the money that you are giving only this type of food only we will give ,, I was shocked ,,,, total waste ,, I will never go this restaurant in my life time again

good Indian food with high prices

Stumbled at this place while trying to find a good mix of south indian and north Indian food… Loved their Grilled items, dosa, Good ambience and large seating area..

The place is near the hbf, clean and big. The food was alright. We had the buffet for 13.90 on a friday afternoon. The chicken curry was authentic chettinad but the biriyani tasted like tomato rice, kind of like the ones you find in hospital canteens in Tamilnadu lol. I liked the aloo chaat, pulao and sabjis. Kesari, khadi was very below average. The chicken tikka masala tasted raw. But on the whole, the buffet was worth it. The service was really good. Our waiter was very nice and funny.

We had dinner at this place, tried to pay with AMEX credit card but this place didn't had amex. They said they accept only Cash/Apple pay/credit card. But didn't accept Amex. As we didn't have cash for the alternative situation we asked if there is any way to pay via PayPal. They said its also not possible and I had to literally wait for a longer time with my kids in the cash paying section until we find an alternative way to pay. This left us with very uncomfortable & unpleasant experience overall!

The food is delicious, staff very professional . Mango lassi is one of the best ones so far. Last time i had mango lassi, while i was visiting Kerala . Well done guys😌

The service & atmosphere is good. I went there three times and tried the lunch buffet on weekdays, always. I love the pannier dishes from their buffet However, The key issues of the Buffet: - Cost : 13.90 € which may vary! - Feels like, the rest of the food from some other day or order! - The items on the buffet menu are not the same and may vary even when you start to eat. If you get a mutton biryani from a pot, for the next round they may put chicken biryani in it, and will make you surprise 🫢! - Only chicken and if you are lucky Mutton biryani with some mutton bons as their Non vegetarian buffet! - Salad in the buffet is just a comedy 🤣! One time try with your non Indian friends is a good idea.

We visited Anjappar recently, and honestly, it was a pretty disappointing experience. We waited for quite a while, but no one came to take our order. To make it worse, a family who arrived after us got their order taken first, which felt unfair. The food was okay—nothing special—but the staff didn’t bother to ask how it was or if we needed anything else. The service just lacked basic professionalism, and it really took away from the experience. Hopefully, they work on improving this, they need more staff because it left a bad impression.

Overall its a very nice place..They also have a buffet and offer a lot of dishes both veggies n non veggies...

During our dinner experience at Anjappar, we were served wrong curry. We are vegetarian and were served chicken curry. When we requested a song, the person at counter plainly refused. Hence, I think service has a scope of improvement. When the right curries were served, it was quite spicy for us all well (coming from India) Overall, an okay experience.

the game changer in Germany. Most delicious biryani and curries I have a had out of India since 15 years. Absolutely mind blowing and finger liking. Gave me a feeling of home. Very thankful to Team Anjappar for this meal. Will come again and again.

Disappointing Service, Good Food Visited this restaurant for dinner and had a mixed experience. The person who appeared to be the owner showed a bad attitude, instructing the female staff to seat us away from a booth. The customer service was the worst—our server scratched her head and pulled a pen from her hair to take our order, which was completely unhygienic. Despite the poor service, the food was really good. The biryani was flavorful, and the chicken lollipop was crispy and tasty. However, our order of Rasmalai took an unreasonable amount of time—15 minutes initially, then another 10 minutes after they realized they forgot. They apologized, but the delay was frustrating. Not a place I’d return to despite the good food, as the service overshadowed the experience.

As part of a Christmas party we made reservations for a group of around 70 people. In fact, not everyone was able to attend the Christmas party due to illness/absence. In addition, some colleagues decided against taking part in the buffet. For this purpose p.P. An amount of €35 is estimated (buffet price €19.99 / reservation fee and soft drink (cola/zero/water) €15) Despite the participation of a good 55 people, the owner still insisted that each person had to pay the amount regardless of the service provided. It's completely incomprehensible to me how greedy you can be. In addition, in my opinion, the buffet display is too small and not enough for the number of seats, so there are long queues when it is completely full. This is of course also reflected in the quality of the dish, so that some pieces of meat were not quite cooked through. Only the homemade bread is praiseworthy. In addition, silverfish were spotted on the table and in glasses. A clear no-go for me. I hope the health department becomes aware of this restaurant. I hope that larger groups decide against visiting this restaurant.

We ordered just Gulab Jamun and Rasmalei . It took them 45 mins to bring these . In the mean time we ordered Masala Tea . It was made from Kettal water and it was terrible. Finally when the food came , the gulab jamun were baught from the Indian store and the syrup was too sweet on the other hand Rasmalai had an ice in between that meant that us was frozen .

Have always been wanting to visit this restaurant, as it's no secret on how elusive it is to find a good South Indian restaurant here in Germany. Finally got a chance to visit (as my other favorite South Indian restaurant was closed) and it took me to a total surprise. I just ordered a humble dish- Idly, and it reminded me of home. All the 3 chutneys including sambar tasted excellent. The staff was also very friendly and courteous. It is also reasonably priced. Glad to find such restaurants which doesn't make a big hole in our pockets. Hope to visit again soon to taste other South Indian delicacies.

Near to Hauptbahnhof like 400-600 m walk. Buffet available but am not sure about the timings. We have ordered : Paneer 65 - okay (it was dry and served with little Schezwan sauce I guess and I have seen more curry leaves than paneer :) though the taste of dish did not change much) Spl ghee podi dosa - it was too good. Ghee podi dosa was served with masala stuffing, 3 chutneys and sambar. Spl chicken 65 biryani - it was excellent with chicken pieces more than expected, served with egg and shorba & raita Anjappar fried chicken - it was too good. Mango lassi - good Recommended definitely for the good quality of food and great service

The restaurant is located near Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and decent one. I have tried: 1. Paneer with Rice: Which is good 2. Masala Dosa : Surprisingly it was really good. Crispy dosa with chutneys were really tasty and recommended. 3. Medu vada: The vada was bit sour seems issue with batter. Was Not good on the day. 4. Lassi: Tried mango lassi which was good. 5. Filter coffee: Not recommended as it is not filter one, just ordinary coffee. Also they have buffet menu. I haven’t tried yet.

We made a reservation there as a larger group. The price for the buffet is just under 20 euros + drinks for individuals; larger groups are charged 35 euros, including water and cola. Ultimately, 10% of people didn't show up. When it comes to payment, however, the boss insists that the full amount be paid for the guests who didn't show up; only two reservations are taken off the bill. From a purely legal perspective, the restaurant has a claim for damages, but not a right to payment of the full price. We would have liked to find an agreement by paying a pro rata amount, but they were not willing to do that. I would have expected more flexibility and a greater interest in customer satisfaction. Too bad.

Hygiene is zero. There were silverfish in the drink glass. Buffet was poor and the tablecloth was dirty. Really not recommended.

RIP-OFF!!! What a disgrace. We made reservations for 70 people (company party) and in the end there were actually only 55 people there who ate the buffet. Instead of the usual sum of €19.90 p.p. We had to pay 35€ p.p. pay. There were 15 people not at the table and of them were absent due to illness. We also had to pay for the people NOT there! According to the managing director, something like this is contractually agreed (Terms and Conditions). In which restaurant do you pay for people not present? Even if you make a reservation and can't go for health reasons, you don't pay!!! Added to this is the hygiene in this restaurant. Beetles/flies and also cockroaches were disgusting in the jars. I don't even want to start with the buffet. Do yourself a favor and don't go!

Disgraceful experience - not recommended! We went to this restaurant as a group, but it was an absolute disaster. As soon as we arrived we noticed mice running around the restaurant and we found silverfish and cockroaches in the glasses! So some in our group understandably chose not to eat. Nevertheless, we were forced to pay for everyone - even those who weren't there at all! The owner showed no understanding and insisted that we pay the entire amount, even from those who had neither eaten nor ordered anything. This was not only unhygienic, but also the most rude thing I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Never again! Not even worth one star!!!!

Absolute rip-off, there were animals in the jar, but the meal still had to be paid for in full. There were silverfish everywhere and mice ran through the rooms. Absolutely no recommendation!!!!!

Always nice to go to an Indian restaurant to feel the community and I enjoyed my visit there. I tried a starter, dosa and masala chai (21.5 €) If I have had only dosa the rating would have been much higher but baby corn starter and masala chai was a real disappointment!

The food was very tasty and served authentically. Comparatively priced but cheaper than many local competitors. The service could mainly only speak English. The rest of the staff could also be a bit friendlier. I would visit the restaurant again to either revise or consolidate my first impression.

Very nice establishment with friendly staff. We were seated quickly and attended to immediately. The food tasted great and had alot of flavor. The only thing that I would have changed was asking for more chicken in my curry (there were only six pieces), but besides that, it was amazing.

We tried the Indian buffet at lunchtime for €19.90 per person. The dishes were very well seasoned. There was also fresh flatbread with the buffet. The service staff was also very friendly. I can highly recommend the buffet if you like Indian and authentic food.

I recently visited Anjappar, and I tried the Chicken Chettinad, and it was absolutely delicious—spicy, aromatic, and cooked to perfection. The biryani was another standout, with fragrant basmati rice and tender pieces of meat. The Appam with Mutton Stew was a delightful combination, with the appam being soft and fluffy, and the stew rich and creamy. The vegetarian options were equally impressive. The Karaikudi Veg Kurma paired wonderfully with their hot parottas Highly recommended for spice lovers!

Disappointed with the Buffet I recently visited anjappar and decided to try their buffet. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The food on the buffet was not fresh, and some items tasted as if they had been sitting out for hours. The quality and hygiene standards were seriously lacking, and it left me feeling unwell afterward—almost half-sick. To be fair, I cannot speak for the other items on the menu as I didn’t try anything outside of the buffet. However, if the buffet is any indication of their standards, it’s disappointing. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the freshness and quality of the buffet food for future diners.

A really great restaurant! We came from Stuttgart and were not disappointed. The portions are generous and the quality of the food is more than convincing for the price. We were particularly impressed by our waiter, who gave us excellent advice and was extremely friendly – ​​a real professional! The menu offers a huge selection and the food is authentic and of the best quality. Absolutely recommended! We'll definitely be back :)

A delicious Indian buffet with selected Indian dishes. For currently €19.90 you get fresh naan brought to your table, can help yourself to the dishes endlessly and dine in a pleasant environment. Very good and suitable for everyone who loves Indian cuisine!

Great value lunch and dinner all you can eat fixed price Curry. If u like curry this is for you. Brilliant value. No curry too hot even Vindaloo was mild and full of flavour. We went for lunch and dinner on different days. Very happy customers.

I found that the chicken was not fresh and noticed an unpleasant smell while eating it. I have never experienced anything like this in German restaurants. Also, most of the dishes here are not well seasoned. Other than that, the service and ambience were fine

Ordered a delivery from here (mutton shukka varuval) and it was one of the best curries I have ever had. Most curries in Frankfurt are watery with little flavour, this had a good thick gravy with lots of flavour, and the lamb was beautiful

Good food but the staff was a little unfriendly .

I had a buffet, then afternoon diarrhea. So I can't comment on dinner or other dishes. Only lunch buffet have hygiene concerns and taste soso.

Had ghee masala Dosa. Was great although the potato filling was a bit bland, probably to cater to the local taste, but the Dosa itself and the dips were amazing. Over all a little expensive, but amazing authentic taste.

Worst hospitality - rude waiter I looked up the menu on the internet and ordered egg kothu parotta by calling them over the phone. The price mentioned on the website was 8€. When I arrived at the restaurant to pickup, the waiter told me to pay 10.5€ which was a bit shocking to me after seeing 8€ at the website. I tried to tell him that it shows 8€ on the website. But he didn't even want to listen to what I was trying to say and got irritated. He kept saying just pay. It was very uncomfortable to stand there when he's treating me very rudely. It's not about the money I'm complaining about, it's about having the right attitude at work. Running a restaurant is not only about serving good food. It's also about hospitality. I would not recommend this restaurant if you expect good hospitality and respect.

I recently dined at Anjappar and tried the garlic paneer and honey chilli potato. Both were delicious and packed with flavor! However, the customer service was just average, which slightly affected the overall experience. Would recommend the food, but hope for better service next time.

I was making a connection at the Frankfurt (Main) train station. I walked three or four blocks, found this Indian restaurant, left my bags at the entrance and had a very good lunch. The experience was very good. They serve delicious bread for those who have lunch and the price on the weekend is very good. Excellent option for those who like Indian cuisine and don't want to spend a lot to be satisfied in Frankfurt.

The food is fine. But I would say Nuremberg's branch is better than this one. Overall the atmosphere is good but there are lots of flies and mosquitoes in the washroom area. This spoiled the overall experience. I have visited them twice in 3 months and the situation is the same, more flies & mosquitoes! Please take a quick action about it.

Great experience, far better than Sarvanna Vb bhawan, The gentleman at main counter is well behaved person, the girl at Beverages also very polite, the staffs are too good and generous, the ambiece is totally indian, nice toilets as well, Booze quality is good, i prefer buffet on weekends.

Good to have Indian dishes specially weekend buffet lunch. If Hyderabadi biryani is part of buffet it would have been much more enjoyable.

We tried the buffet, which is mostly North Indian. The dishes were okay, and were mildly spiced.

I recently visited this restaurant, and I must say, it was an extremely disappointing experience. The service was the worst I have ever encountered. From the moment we walked in, the employees were unfriendly and seemed completely uninterested in providing any level of hospitality. When it came time to pay, I tried to provide some constructive feedback about our poor experience, but it was clear they didn’t care. Even the manager, who I expected to handle the situation professionally, was dismissive. Instead of addressing the issues, he snapped at us and told us not to come back! I was shocked by his behavior—it almost felt like they thought we had just received some free charity dinner rather than paying customers. If you’re looking for a place that values your business or treats you with respect, this is definitely not the restaurant for you.

Bombay Lounge used to be great. This new owner renamed the restaurant to South Indian name 'Anjappar Chettinad' and seems to be owned by Sri Lankan or Pakistani owner. I often observed that they serve food remaining from previous day in Buffet. Very little options and service for Vegan and Vegetarian. Few times there was smell of non-vegetarian (meat/fish) in their vegetarian food. It seems that they do not separate non-vegetarian and vegetarian/vegan food while cooking. There are many Indian restaurants nearby so stopped going there. I do not recommend for vegan and vegetarians.

Very unfriendly waiter. I was there with my friends from a week ago and we had ordered biryani but it was very, very spicy. Today I first went to a waiter because he was very unfriendly and then I wanted to order a biryani and I asked for it It's possible that we can only manage a little, but he answered very unkindly that no, we can only manage a lot. Ordered take out : Kola urundai, mutton nalli masala and Ceylon egg parotta. The mutton nalli fry was amazing and on point - spicy with tender pieces of goat and two pieces of bone marrow. The Ceylon parotta was awesome as well. Only reason giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because Kola Urundai could have been better. Overall and authentic Chettinad (South Indian) place. Will be back when I am back in Germany.

We travelled from Luxembourg to Frankfurt for some personal work and decided to have dinner at this restaurant after reading some good reviews. However, our experience was extremely poor. We visited on 15 September for the weekend dinner at €19 per person. Buffet menu was as follows: Veg salad, white rice, Kadhai panneer (without Panneer), sambar (was decent), veg pakoda (was decent), cabbage poriyal, dal (was decent), noodles (very bad), kadhi pakoda (without pakoda). veg biryani, chicken biryani (without chicken), chilli chicken (was awful), egg curry, butter chicken (without chicken), Potato-Brinjal curry, payasam (watery consistency) and maybe one or two other items. Naan was served at the table and was okay. We also ordered Coke Zero which was served at almost room temperature instead of being served chilled. We asked four different waiters multiple times if they could bring us some ice cubes for the coke, only to be ignored after waiting for 5 mins intervals. One of the waiters even laughed at us sarcastically and no points for guessing, ignored our request. Food was served cold. For a total of €46, the experience was nothing short of pathetic. I really wish the management sees this review and course corrects their staff’s behaviour and improves the dining experience.

Good South Indian restaurant with Lovely taste

The byriani lamb was super tasty and I really enjoyed it. The garlic bread definitely needed more... Garlic! There was a bit of confusion and I had to ask two times for my order to come and I ended up eating alone. They certainly need better organisations, but they are very kind people.

Chicken Kothu parotta was below average taste!! It was full of chicken pieces and you need to search for parotta! When I asked the waiter about this , he checked with the chef and came with reply that food was right. When I asked him again, he said that he would change the dish and came back with the same dish with some extra pieces of parotta on the different plate! The special of chettinad restaurant is hospitality, which was completely missing! Ambience was ok with conference hall effect! Completely disappointed experience from Anjappar! Only positive is reasonable price for the quantity! PS: I am a big fan of this restaurant chain in South india and travelled from Frankfurt airport to city only to have dinner during my transit.

The food at this restaurant is consistently good, and we really enjoy the flavors and quality of the dishes. However, the plastic containers used for the curries are of extremely poor quality. On multiple occasions, the containers broke before we even opened them, and small plastic particles ended up in the curry. Unfortunately, we accidentally consumed plastic a couple of times because of this. I truly hope the restaurant addresses this issue soon, as it impacts the overall experience. Improving the packaging would make a huge difference!

Very average food and horrendous service

It’s well placed within frankfurt city. We went there for dinner and ordered kothu parota and anjappar fried chicken with bone which was good. Well served and would visit again. Food was brought without 10-15 of order.
