Went there for the lunch buffet for the first time. The selection was sufficiently diverse for 12.90. From naan+papadam, meat and vegetarian dishes, soup, salad, and a delicious dessert. We enjoyed everything. Well seasoned and the perfect spiciness for Indian food in Europe 😅. The service was also very friendly. Would love to come back.

Solid 3.5 stars I was really excited about the restaurant because of the South Indian name, unfortunately it was a flop: Ambience like any other cheap chain restaurant, as did the staff, but at least they were friendly and worked quickly, so 4.5 here. Almost all of the food was thick yellow sauces, the likes of which no South Indian ever uses, except for the occasional Vada or Idli and bits and pieces, everything was North Indian uniformity like everywhere else, and usually too much fat to stuff the stomach. You could even tell from the papad where the owners came from. So why still 3 points? The restaurant advertises very cheap buffets, and for the price the food is definitely ok, so you shouldn't expect anything more. Therefore, absolutely ok as a fast food variant and recommended for the coarse taste.

We were here for the buffet lunch. Unfortunately the food was lukewarm to cold. Not much vegetarian choice and it took a long time for a waiter to take the drink order.

Staff is friendly and offer customisation of the particular dish. This kind of flexibility is crucial.

You can't say anything for the €12.90 all you can eat buffet. It was super tasty. Everything was freshly prepared. The vada balls were freshly fried all three times we took them. The meat, whether chicken or lamb, was delicious and cooked just right. Even my Indian husband loved the food. There were three of us here with our 2 year old daughter. They had a high chair for her. A bit tight for the stroller. But you find space. Anyway, a recommendation. We will come back.

Loved our fine dine in experience for the weekend - eat it all buffet. Their biryani is amazing must try. Naan is served hot and fresh to your table, loved their hospitality too.

I was there on Monday June 10th with my wife. We ate lunch. After less than 12 hours we had gastrointestinal problems, then I knew it was food poisoning. Terrible experience.

I have visited Anjappar multiple times, and each experience has been comforting. The authentic South Indian flavors remind me of home. The outdoor tables are clean, the waiters are friendly, and the food is served hot and quickly. If you’re looking to try South Indian non-veg dishes with a good spice kick, this is the place to go.

The best Indian 🇮🇳 food I ever had

Not recommendable!!! The situation there is not working at all. It's very unhygienic; the tables were all dirty. The buffet was very small and looked neither hygienic nor fresh. But the worst thing wasn't the cleanliness, but the food. There were two of us there on Monday and both of us had stomach pains. It turns out that I have food poisoning and my companion has salmonella and has been sick in bed for a week! That's not possible at all!

I recently visited the restaurant and unfortunately was very disappointed with my experience. Right at the beginning I was brought a plate that was dirty and had visible stains. When I asked the waiter to bring me a clean plate, I received a second plate that was also not clean and had stains on it. What was particularly annoying was that in good light outside you could clearly see the dirt. This is a clear sign of poor hygiene and care in the restaurant. Additionally, the waiters were very careless and seemed to have little interest in correcting these problems. I hope the restaurant places more emphasis on cleanliness and service in the future as this was a very unpleasant experience overall. Unfortunately, based on these experiences, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

We were there on Monday, and I finally got out of bed, my friend and I met for lunch, and it cost us severe gastroenteritis. I had been many times but I will not return. Questionable food hygiene or condition. Also the last few times I have had to chase the waiter to order the drinks. Never more.

Went to the restaurant for the first time with a colleague for the lunch buffet yesterday. Food was great, but not less than 24 hours we are experiencing serious food poisoning. I’m suspecting the food might not be fresh and have been used for days. I have never felt this unwell before after dining in a restaurant here in Frankfurt.

Food was very tasty and authentic. Enjoyed my first visit with family and friends. We will come over again to try the other dishes too. Definitely recommending for food lovers.

Horrible microwaved food. Plus, I sat there for 20 mins and no one came to take order. I had to go to them. If you want to have stale microwaved food and bad service. Then you are at the right place.

Sorry to say this, food taste worst am not sure it's bcoz of Buffet menu.. I am not sure about other normal menu. Utthappam and Sambar is really good. Biriani and Kesari sweet are worst.. I was a little aprehensive about going here based on the mixed reviews online and stuff I read on IG. However, the trip we made was a postive experience. Food has not lost it's south indian taste - as much reported online. Of course if you know what dishes to order. Ambience is nice, and centrally located just a short walk away from the train station. My recommendation from the Anjappar in Singapore is always the Chicken Briyani, Lolipop chicken and Gobi Manchurian. Can't match the taste of what I've had regularly in Singapore, but really good for German standards.

There’s a loud noisy obnoxious waitress who says nonsense in front of the customers, of course in Hindi. Rudely suggesting for customers to be put to the end of the room simply because they asked to close the door in the middle of a cold weather!! She doesn’t care for the business, talking nonsense that a certain customer is stinking and reasoning that the westerns don’t keep themselves clean!!! She’s not just obnoxious, stupid too , “she” - a waitress who was when asked to wait a customer, had THE epic reply, “well I’ve self respect, so I won’t wait for these people”!!! Dear people, if who don’t speak any Indian languages, please refrain from going to this restaurant. You’re laughed and horrendously disrespected, till you pay!! If she’s fired, I’ll visit the restaurant again.

Fabulous vibe on a Saturday evening. Bollywood music on speakers, I felt like dancing. Coming to food, yumm yumm.. This Anjappar is much bigger and better than the one in Amsterdam. Love it!!!

Food is good but their opening hours are inconsistent and varies from arrangements. I was refused entry when I came around 22:40 although their opening hours on internet is till 23:30.

Food is delicious and the staff is nice and friendly. Great ambience too. Weekday buffet is total value for money. Also ordered a Rawa dosa, which took lot of time. After a wait, the staff gave the Dosa, however it seemed uncooked. So we requested to change it to Sada Dosa, which the staff did it willingly. Happy with the experience. Went 2 times, once for Lunch and once for Dinner. Total value for money.

You can find authentic wide spread of south indian dishes mostly from Tamil nadu region. I tried onion rava dosa and nimbu pani and the dosa was very good but some of the chutneys provided with dosa comes without salt. Neverthless, the staff were kind enough to let me try the sample of the dishes i wanted to try before ordering it. Will come back to have the south indian thali.

The young waitress was very nice when we were standing outside in front of the menu, but not at all inside during service. As if a switch had flipped. The table wasn't quite as clean as I would have liked. Card a bit sticky and cutlery with dishwashing stains. We ordered and on the way to the toilet the door to the kitchen opened. That didn't look good to me. The food was ok, but was marred by the events. The overall impression is bad. At home I read the other reviews here where customers often complained about gastrointestinal problems after eating it. So I came across a report from an authority from January where there were various violations regarding the restaurant. That explains the problems described. I won't come anymore.

I have tried Anjappar several times in Tamilnadu. I was expecting the same. But I feel it's completely North Indian style. Service is good. we have tried meals and buffet. Buffet is ok for veggies. you cannot find anything other than chicken in the buffet. Meals also over priced. Chicken biryani was good. Kesari also average. please don't try the filter coffee. i cannot even drink 2 sips.

We visited the restaurant in the afternoon today. It's in the HBF area but you'd still expect that it's not in the middle of all the non-sense you find near the HBF.. we sat outside and it was a pleasant weather. The prices were high. But we still ordered thinking that the food will taste good. My friend ordered butter chicken, another friend ordered mutton thali, my wife ordered mutton Keema gravy and nun and I ordered a veg thali. It was the worst veg thali I had in my life. Worst. It seems that someone literally didn't want to make good food. My wife's expectations vanished like the flight that disappeared mid air when she tasted the mutton, my African friend who ordered butter chicken said that he has had better ones for lower prices in FF and the other friend didn't have half of her food (a piece of mutton was actually left on her plate). Thats how bad it was. We had a separate bill and I think I paid 46 euros for me and my wife. I'd suggest Delhi Tandoori if someone wants to spend this much money. They are far better with taste, quality and service.

Not a bad choice. No new inventions in terms of taste, just classic, averagely good Indian food. Indian bread is clearly simple yeast dough and the selection is not too large, but there is everything your heart desires in terms of standard dishes (including at the buffet). The price for a buffet + 1 drink is just under €18

Weekend buffet is an absolute joke here! 20 Euro buffet has no water or juice served, no soup and menu is terrible. Out of 9 items 3 rice options and a noodle options are making it clear. It’s an Indian cuisine but not even near the taste of Indian food. Staffs are very unprofessional. Waste of time and money.

Unfortunately there is no longer a buffet here, and the restaurant Bombay Lounge is now called Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant... very unfriendly boss who just hangs up on calls and now the a la carte menu is far too expensive... we don't go there anymore, Previously we were there three times a week... That's how you scare away the regular customers!

Awesome food actually. But the staffs are not too friendly and they dont even smile. In last three days, i ve had food for 3 times and the same north indian person took my order and he is being rude and strict like there is no dine in after 10pm on sunday! Then why do you put restaurant opening times in google map. Please change it na. The person who is thin and bit short with no beard needs to smile to customers. Otherwise you will lose customers and they will run away. Smile to customers. That is called restaurant. If work hard and keep angry face. Then its of no use.

I was invited by a friend to Anjappar on Saturday and was very pleasantly surprised. It was a great experience. The food was delicious and varied, there was also a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The meat dishes were with bones but the curry was so tasty. Service was also very good and the restaurant was nicely decorated and left a very clean impression. I'll be back with you soon!! Thanks.
