Jiyaa Indian Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

They confirmed my reservation but they are closed. This is absurd.

The food there is very authentic, tastes very good and the service is also good.

Beautiful restaurant with professional service. However, the prices are on the high side so I expect better food although we ordered off the lunch menu which was less expensive. Our Palak Paneer was good but a bit on the bland side, maybe a local custom? We had a chicken dish which was boring. The chicken was tough and chewy and no coconut flavor as mentioned in the ingredients. The paratha we ordered (not on the lunch menu) was great. When I look at the dinner prices I would expect next level food.

A very delicious Indian restaurant with excellent service. I recommend visiting it.

The food was really bad. We went there for lunch. The waiter even asked us if we wanted the food to be spicy (Indian style) to which we said yes. Inspire of clear instructions, the food was very bland. We ordered a non veg thali and a srilankan speciality, both of which were a huge disappointment. Given the price point of the restaurant and how fancy it is , the food was just not up to the mark. The food is catered to the German and white people. It is very bland and a waste of money if you are looking for authentic Indian taste. 👎

Unfortunately I can't rate the food because it wasn't part of the meal. Four tables were occupied by 2-4 people. The restaurant was empty. We ordered both starters and main courses. After 40 minutes the waitress noticed that we only received our drinks. When we asked, we were told that we had been forgotten. There would be a lot going on. The food would come now. When I pointed out to her that only four tables were occupied, she cheekily replied that there would also be a delivery service. With the appetizer in her hand, she said, we can go too. Here we stopped straight away and did exactly that. I come from the catering industry myself and know that there can be delays, but being so rude to guests is not possible. She couldn't even explain the dishes to us. And when we got up, nothing was done to calm us down. Instead, we were even encouraged to give a negative review.

I recently visited an Indian restaurant in Germany that had great reviews on Google, but unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations. Despite the friendly staff, the food and cocktails were disappointing. We ordered the butter chicken curry and turkey curry, but it was clear that they had been reheated in a microwave, as they were only slightly warm and lacked the rich, spicy flavors we expect from Indian cuisine. The staff did not ask if we wanted our curries spicy, which is typically a standard practice in Indian restaurants. The portions were also quite small considering the price, which added to our dissatisfaction. As for the cocktails, they were very watery and lacked sufficient alcohol. We ordered an Aperol Spritz, and it was made with sparkling water instead of Prosecco, making it a poor version of the cocktail. Unfortunately, our experience was not a good one, but we hope this was just an exception. We were looking forward to enjoying a nice meal, but the food and drinks fell short of the mark.

We came there and kitchen was closing in 10mins. They let us in anyhow...4 different meals, naan breads...everything was perfect as service as well. Maybe is little bit pricey but don't miss it if you are in Frankfurt and love Indian food.

Seeing the reviews for this place, I thought I’d give this place a shot; I was disappointed. It’s an unnecessary expensive Indian restaurant; the only the reason the prices of the dishes are so high is because of the location. The guy who took my order was pretty rude; as if he was doing me a favour by serving food to me. The food itself is subpar. I tried to order an appetiser, a dal, a paneer dish and some roti…the guy said it’ll be too much for me 🤷‍♂️🙄 I thought the quantity might be too much, hence his recommendation. So I dropped the paneer. The appetiser (mirch ki bhaj) were basically tasteless mirchi pakodas. The dal was meh (not the taste you’d expect in dal makhani, how do you screw that up?), and the roti was bland (by look and by taste - no ghee on top). The dal came with some rice; when I asked the guy if he could pack it up, he said it’ll cost me an extra euro…you’re a bougie Indian restaurant in a prime location of an international city; how stingy can you guys be?! 200% do NOT recommend.

Price is Little Bit on higher side, but food here is super awesome, tasty and all sorts of synonyms of tasty.

We visited during a quiet time and were impressed by the friendly and polite staff. The food was outstanding and catered perfectly to my partner, who prefers non-spicy dishes. We ordered both of thalis to sample the variety of curries, and every dish was delicious and beautifully served with butter naan (hoping it was egg-free). We had a wonderful time. although the chai was a bit disappointing for a chai enthusiast who makes it at home. Overall, it was a great experience for both of us.

The masala dosa was delicious but the chicken 65 was very far from the expected taste. The staff was very helpful and the amenities are very good.

Central location. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Service is on point and very practiced. Food is high quality and beautifully presented. Mango lassi and naan bread were very good. The main course was also good. However, for this higher price range I expect more, for example in terms of taste. However, you can't go wrong if you like Indian food. 4 stars also because I missed dishes like Vindaloo, Alu Gobi or Jalfreezi.

The attentive service is not the same at Jiyaa. It can happen that you are not served at all. Consequence: the guest leaves without having eaten or drunk anything

Such a warm, wonderful shop in the middle of the city of Frankfurt. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious, a great selection. It's not a one-size-fits-all dish, but coordinated and seasoned differently. We had paneer, dosa, naans and sensational mango lassis. And a butter chicken to go. Everything was fresh, delicious and intense. We will be back.

Visited for a celebratory lunch with my husband. Was pleasantly surprised by their big selection of dishes, both North and South Indian. The hospitality was top notch. The ambiance is fine dining, and quality of food is superior. Highly recommended.

Excellent Srilankan and South indian food. We ordered Gobi fry, Masala dosa , uthappam, lamb kotthu roti and lamb varuval. Everything was well done as per our taste requests. I would definitely recommend the restaurant for Desi as well others. One place to improve is the ambience and lighting. It was a bit dull which brings down your mood but the food somehow compensated it 😀

I love this place. This is the best asparagus soup I have ever had. The aperol spritzer is on point and I plan to come back over and over before my trip is over. I’m sorry other people had a bad experience but I have to say otherwise. I’m in here right now and I love it. Visiting from California and I love South Indian food. I recommend this place.

full downtown, Frankfurt feeling great atmosphere - a small outdoor space like a village green between Goethestrasse and the 4-7 Skyscrapers Meat (lamb) extremely tender, no hard cubes as is often the case, They have two categories, ask for "Indian" then eat better seasoned. Wine: downtow, Frankfurt price, that's how it is, but a Sicilian Merlot at least. Coming soon, Cotes De Provence Rose, and Minuty, then it's perfect.

We ate there with the family and sat at a free-standing table in the very nicely decorated restaurant. We particularly noticed the attentive service and the delicious food. It really tasted great. Thanks!

Not very inviting, was there the first time me and two good friends,13:30 Saturday we go out every three weeks together all over Frankfurt trying something new, sad to say this restaurant never again, service was alright, the food was nothing special, the menu card very complicated, the wine list a disgrace, that everything has become. expensive is. Ok , but the quality a disgrace ( white wine that has a bottle price of 5,.. normal price , sale price in the restaurant 49,.. is not acceptable, guests pay for quality but don’t Receive quality

Attention allergy sufferers! Allergens were not marked on the menu! We ordered Lamb Kofta Curry (for my girlfriend) and Hariyali ChickenTikka (for me) - I explicitly mentioned my girlfriend's cashew intolerance when ordering. But there were cashews in the Lamb Kofta Curry (!!!) - unfortunately only discovered after half consumption - which means... it won't be a pleasant evening for my girlfriend! When we complained when paying... there was initially no apology... just an answer that the waiter in the kitchen had let us know. At the farewell there was an apology and a “see you next time” - but that certainly won’t happen!

Decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews, ended up very disappointed. First and foremost, the flavors were poor. We ordered chicken tikka masala and palak paneer, both were quite disappointing. The chicken was cooked very well and portion sizes were adequate, however the flavor was a huge disappointment, nothing resembling an authentic CTM(chunks of red and yellow bell pepper in the gravy, palak paneer garnished with tomato?). At 25 EUR and 20 EUR for the dishes respectively the expectation for quality was much higher. The service itself was friendly and polite, however there were only 5 occupied tables in a quite large space when we placed our order, but it took 35 minutes to arrive. The interiors are fairly well done, everything neat and clean but the food needs large improvements to justify the pricing.

We four Indian friends had been here to eat Indian meal. We had ordered Veg & Non-veg meal for all four of us & the food quality was worst 😐 we was really disappointed ☹️ & will never recommend anyone to go there also we will never visit here again in our future life. We spend a very lively evening here. We found it by accident, but we would definitely come back. I had the Sri Lanka Lamb Curry and my wife had the Vegitarian Tali (with 5 various mini portions of different falvours.) The service was super attentive and friendly. The little touches dies it. The Pomegranate seeds in the water with ice. It just works. It's a good restaurant to spend time with your friends.

Atmosphere and service were great, however the food was very disappointing. We had Gobi 65 and Masala Dosa, which were both unfortunate very flat in taste and highly overpriced. Can't recommend.

Even though the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice, the food disappointed…we took chicken tikka masala (which was more or less ok) and Baingan Ka Salan (which was disgusting) the was no flavor and no spices, only coconut aftertaste. Comparing to other Indian restaurant we have been to, this place is not the best to get yourself acquainted with an Indian cuisine.

Such a wonderful experience! Went with y girlfriend and it was an adhoc decision to try out this restaurant after visiting a design exhibition. By far the nicest Indian food I had in Germany to date! I have been there twice in the last month and the food is very tasty, I could eat there once a week with no problems. Having been to South India several times, the dishes were wuite comparable. The Sri Lankan and S. Indian dishes offer a nice selection to make your choice. Really enjoy the veggy dishes and idlys and of course the sambar. The prices are fair given the quality of the food. Main dishes range between 15 and 25 but it does not feel expensive! The staff is quite friendly and speaks German and English as well as Tamil and Hindi. A nice cosy atmosphere very centrally located! This one is a keeper!

Very slow service and when I asks for the dessert menu, after waiting for 30 min form the last served dish, they came with the bill!

Da wir einen starken Faible für indisches Essen haben und im Rhein-Main Gebiet schon nahezu alles ausprobiert haben, war die Erwartungshaltung auf gute authentische Küche schon hoch. Das Restaurant war nicht überfüllt und ist hochwertig eingerichtet. Der erste Eindruck zählt ja meistens. Nach einem sehr freundlichen Empfang, nun der Blick in die Karte. Eine schöne Auswahl an Vorspeisen gefolgt von eine tollen Auswahl an Hauptspeisen, auch für Vegetarier. Neben den Klassikern wie Chicken Tikka, stehen hier auch ein paar Besonderheiten auf der Karte. Angenehm ist, dass nicht ganz Indien auf der Karte abgebildet ist, sondern auf eine gute Auswahl reduziert. Hier ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Wir hatten Chicken Safrani Malai und Ajwain Fish Tikka. Das Essen kam, wie üblich im indischen Restaurant, sehr zügig. Beide Essen waren großartig. Meine Frau wollte es dann eher in „Indisch Spicy“ und prompt haben wir noch eine weitere Soße dazu bekommen. Neben Essen und Getränken sollte man natürlich auch den Service besonders erwähnen. Sehr zuvorkommend (unsere Gläser waren niemals leer) und mit einem charmanten Witz auf den Lippen. Alles zusammen war ein ganz toller und kulinarischer Abend. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Today we ate at JIYAA for the first time after a relaxing evening at the cinema. Since we have a strong passion for Indian food and have tried almost everything in the Rhine-Main area, the expectations of good, authentic cuisine were already high. The restaurant was not overcrowded and was furnished to a high standard. The first impression usually counts. After a very friendly welcome, now let's take a look at the map. A nice selection of starters followed by a great selection of main courses, also for vegetarians. In addition to the classics like Chicken Tikka, there are also a few specialties on the menu. What is pleasant is that not all of India is shown on the map, but rather reduced to a good selection. Here's something for every taste. We had Chicken Safrani Malai and Ajwain Fish Tikka. The food came very quickly, as usual in Indian restaurants. Both meals were great. My wife wanted it more “Indian Spicy” and we promptly got another sauce with it. In addition to food and drinks, special mention should of course be made of the service. Very accommodating (our glasses were never empty) and with a charming joke on his lips. All in all it was a really great and culinary evening. We will be back definitely. Thank you

We have been to this restaurant 5 times; The food is delicious. We tried both vegetarian and chicken dishes. It is beautifully presented, the pomegranate seeds on the rice are a nice addition. My current favorites are Vegetable Kurma and chicken tikka masala. Before or with butter naan or papadum with dips. There is still a lot we would like to try, we are staying tuned 😋

The service was very friendly. Unfortunately we had to overhear a conversation of two spoiled youngsters discussing their investment plans in the sofa corner of the restaurant. Otherwise we've spent a really nice evening there.

The food tasted pretty good and the service was also good. What I did have to complain about was the prices, which I found to be absolutely exorbitant So there are still just as good Indian restaurants that are not nearly as expensive as these. I thought the location was good but the interior design wasn't nice and you had the feeling you were sitting in an Indian bistro.

It’s hard to find such most authentic Indian restaurants like JIYAA in Germany. Food was pricey (Frankfurt standards) but amazing and totally worth it, excellent service and cosy ambience. Happily again !!

Wir waren am Samstag Abend dort. Das Restsurant war gut besucht. Das Ambiente war toll - ich würde sagen modern-traditionell. Die Bedienungen sind alle sehr freundlich. Das Essen wird sehr schön und ansprechend angerichtet. Geschmacklich wunderbar! Die Gerichte, die als scharf deklariert sind, hatten eine erträgliche Schärfe. Preislich nicht ganz so günstig, aber den heutigen Verhältnissen angepasst. Wir haben definitiv ein neues indisches Lieblingsrestaurant gefunden! Wir kommen nochmal, wenn wir in Frankfurt sind!
