Diya in Frankfurt am Main

Still tasty, but unfortunately not anymore. The rice was sooooo good back then and now it's just plain white rice that was sometimes overcooked. Unfortunately it has also become a lot more expensive.

The food was excellent and the portions were large enough that we even had takeaway (chicken tikka masala, malai kofta, naan bread and veggie pakoras). The lassis (mango and raspberry-coconut) were also super delicious. The attention was the most friendly and personalized. Without a doubt, if you are in the area or have a craving for Indian food, it is totally worth it.

Considering the not so nice atmosphere, the food was good. The service was also attentive, although there were only a few guests in the restaurant. I found it a little inappropriate that the host family had lunch together in the dining room at the same time.

I can highly recommend the salad with chicken, the chicken tikka masala (subtly spicy, low heat) and the chicken korma (mild, no heat). The Mango Lässig and the Kashmiri Chai are very tasty. The Garlic Naan was a bit too oily for me personally, but it was definitely very tasty and powerful. The service was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was tastefully decorated in a subtle Indian style. The ambience was a successful fusion between minimalist and Indian, which seems difficult but in our opinion succeeded. We'll definitely be back soon.

Simply great. Authentic North Indian cuisine with lots of flavor and variety. The portions are slightly larger than the usual pots on the warmer. The service is nice and accommodating, even if they don't think they mean Indian spicy when they say it. The two owners are a well-rehearsed team and complement each other well. The food is lovingly prepared and tastes an experience. Instead of spice paste, you can taste the variation of individual spices. A pleasure.

I was at Diya Restaurant and absolutely loved it! The food was incredibly tasty, especially the chili chicken - perfectly seasoned and juicy. The other dishes we tried, like the butter chicken and naan, were also fantastic. Everything was fresh and prepared with so much attention to detail. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was really cozy. You just feel good.

We have been regular guests since the Diya restaurant opened in 2009. Once a week we have our favorite food delivered to our home. We can recommend all vegetarian dishes without exception. We have never eaten so well in any other Indian restaurant, both in Frankfurt and in other cities. We look forward to the delicious food every week.

Was there yesterday with friends and their daughter from Stuttgart. Everytime they come to see us it is a must and a fixed point on their visiting programme to dine at Diya. Delicious as usual, extremely friendly staff, very attentive and with very good humour. So, in total: highly recommended!

As a regular at Diya, all I can say is: it remains second to none! I've been coming here regularly for years and am amazed every time. The food is always excellent - the flavors are authentic, the dishes are wonderfully balanced and simply incredibly delicious. Especially the butter chicken (spicy 😉) and the freshly baked naan are my absolute favorites. The staff is always super friendly, recognizes you straight away and makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, just the right place to spend a lovely evening. For me it is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in Frankfurt. A real gem that I can only recommend to everyone!”

Decent Indian, friendly, funny (but not entirely fast) service. Unfortunately the food wasn't really spicy. Well-intentioned 3 stars (sorry, the bar is very high for Indians).

Best atmosphere with great food and polite staff.

There are many Indian restaurants in Frankfurt, especially here in the Nordend, but Diya has become our absolute favorite. Having such a great restaurant in the area made the move even sweeter. We order here often and have also eaten in the restaurant. Everything we tried was super delicious. I can especially recommend Palak Paneer and Lamb Korma. The dal dishes are also great. We were particularly impressed by the cheese naan, which was really great the last time we ordered. Thank you for the delicious food. We are already looking forward to the next time!

We’ve recently discovered this place, and ate two times in a week. The food is top notch, very tasty Indian style. Also the service is impeccable, Harsh is a super attentive and friendly person. The decor of the place is really cool. Totally recommend to everyone. Try their bengan bharta, you won’t be disappointed.

4 days before the dine-in experience, we have it a try by ordering in and it was delicious. The prices were so affordable and the delivery service very friendly. The Dine-in experience was fantastic. Harsh and his father are very polite. We appreciate their rich hospitality. The food is expensive when you dine in. Therefore, ordering through Lieferando might help save you a lot, especially for big groups. Got to mention the combo of Tikka Masala and butter Naan in asli Punjabi taste. Recommended!

Unfortunately I have to deduct a star from the service because delivery took a really long time this time. Still, I'm a big fan of Diya's excellent food and her fair prices. The quality of the food is always first class, fresh and tastefully prepared. I particularly appreciate the variety of dishes and the attention to detail. A clear recommendation for everyone who appreciates good food!

We were here for dinner. The staff was very friendly but unfortunately a bit overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the drinks only came after the starters and only when asked. Unfortunately, no one came to order another drink. But the food tasted very good and was very plentiful.

Little insider tip! Incredibly good food and really great service (also great value for money). We had dinner with a large group at our favorite Indian restaurant and everyone loved it. We had meat and vegetarian dishes, starters, super good Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi. Mango chutney, mint sauce and sparkling hot pickled mango on the house rounded everything off. The service was very friendly and extremely attentive, explained a lot about the food when we asked and if something was running low, it was refilled immediately. At the end we got homemade banana schnapps on the house. A wonderful evening!

Ordered the food by phone at 5:45 p.m., called at 6:50 p.m. to find out what was going on, they said the colleague hadn't typed the order, even though it was exactly this employee himself who was on the phone because he knew what I had ordered, I said OK, no problem, then they said the driver should arrive any moment, at 7:05 p.m. I called again and the words were 'he'll be there soon, we can't do more than apologize' after the driver was there (over 1.5 hours ) he dropped my food as he came up and handed the food into my hand with the bowl broken. I said it took too long and his statement was 'I can either take it with me or you pay', just as disrespectful as his statement that he had 10 butter chickens in the car and it was normal for them to fly around. After these disrespectful comments, I had enough and gave him the food back and sent him away. The goal should be to be able to welcome a customer permanently, not to charge even €20 that isn't even justified, even if I'm not the king as a customer, but I still want to be treated with respect and get the appropriate service for the money I pay. Absolute impudence.

We were there for lunch today. 5 star service and ambience. Clean, cozy and suitable for groups. Food was tasteful and sufficient. As a large group, all wishes were taken into account. Special recommendations: Tandoori Platter and Byriani. Highly Recommended.

I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in RESTAURANTS DIYA. I had a 3 course meal, with a couple of beers. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want a romantic night out. There was also plenty of room for bigger groups.

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.
