Das Lokal ist klein und war voll besetzt. Wir waren zu Fünft an unserem reservierten Tisch; die Reservierung war schon recht mühsam, da das Telefon nicht gut besetzt ist. Die Einrichtung und der freundliche, bemühte Service kamen bei uns erstmal gut an. Das Essen schmeckt vorzüglich und wir genossen die gute Qualität und die ausgesprochen intensiven Aromen der verschiedenen Gerichte in vollen Zügen. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist voll in Ordnung. Zwar wussten wir, das die Essenszeit unserer Sitzung um 20:00 Uhr endet. Jedoch hat das sehr rigorose Verteilen eines " Infodruck´s " der sich als Rechnung herausstellte die Stimmung deutlich gedrückt; und das gleich an vielen Tischen. Die anschließende vehemente Abkassierung machte den faden Beigeschmack, sich als Gast nicht wohlfühlen zu können komplett. Das Restaurant ist um 18:00 Uhr nur für eine kurze Essenseinnahme z. B. nach dem Büro geeignet.

The food was really great, super tasty and you didn't have to wait long either. We also had nothing to complain about in terms of service. The staff was very courteous, tried hard and attentive. We'd love to come back!

Not easy to get a place. It's best to reserve well in advance. Since I prefer to eat out spontaneously, I've only had luck once so far.

The food was good, no question about it, but - as mentioned several times in other posts here - we were treated disrespectfully and deceitfully by the employee who was responsible for us. We would come back for the food, but would switch to another restaurant because of the service.

Great, it was a revelation. Delicious food in a pleasant, cozy atmosphere, it couldn't be better. The lentil soup had a very pleasant spiciness and the braised lamb was so tender and delicious, a poem. Thank you very much, I'll definitely come back, guaranteed ;-)

Chic little restaurant in the heart of Munich. You will receive a friendly welcome even without a reservation. We would be served attentively and given friendly and patient advice on the menu. The dishes were extremely good and also of high quality. Here we cook with love and work with joy.

Spontan haben wir alle vier beim ersten Bissen ein Mmmmh ausgestoßen. Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte sehr lecker, raffiniert gewürzt, das Fleisch auf den Punkt. Dazu ein sehr aufmerksamer, gastfreundlicher Service. Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Man muss reservieren. Einziges Manko, dass auch hier abends mit essensslots gearbeitet wird. Also besser den Slot ab 20:00 nehmen. Wir kommen wieder.

We spontaneously ate here today during our visit to Munich. Small and beautifully decorated restaurant. Our service was very friendly and attentive. The food is a DREAM with a lot of depth in the taste! No matter whether it was a starter, main course or dessert, nothing could have been done better 😊

5 stars are actually not enough here. Some of the best food I've had so far. The rice alone is to die for. Can really only recommend it. The restaurant is a bit smaller and doesn't have very many seats. That's why it's understandable that with this quality you have to make a reservation and slots are only given for two hours.

The chef's recommendation is really outstanding! Whenever we happen to be in Munich, we go to Hewad and have already recommended the restaurant to many friends.

Very nice evening with excellent food and perfect service

We live locally and had been planning to come here for ages. The good sign was it was always booked. We made it, and the wait was so worth it. The service was great and super friendly. The good was delicious. We took every starter and each was delicious. The mains of lamb and chicken were equally delicious and fork tender and full of flavour. Highly recommend to try.

Even though we hadn't reserved a table, we were greeted very politely. 2 delicious, well-seasoned vegetarian rice dishes were served quickly. I also recommend this restaurant because of the humorous, friendly and very good-humored service. Absolutely top and a real highlight in Munich.

If only I could give a negative score for the unbelievably rude service my friends and I experienced here! What a pity as we all looked forward to a nice evening. The waiter's goal for that evening was to make us feel as uncomfortable as possible with his non- existent manners. Right from the beginning he had made side remarks that made us feel uncomfortable as well as his very abrupt attitude and actions towards my friends and I. As soon as we were done eating, which was well beyond the time we were supposed to leave (8pm, it was only 7pm), he flops down the bill on our table. So we all got our cards ready to pay but he proceeded to ignore us the whole time. And in comes a rude customer and his family who mentions to the waiter that we were too loud (this I can only assume because we were all speaking in English) the waiter then makes a loud announcement to the whole restaurant that some customers should quiet down because the customers that just came in were offended, all the while pointedly looking at us! The sad thing is, the waiter himself was a foreigner...

Amazing food. Service was good and offered great suggestions. For Americans, this is European dining, so enjoy the pace.

Very tasty dishes! My absolute favorite restaurant

Time: Friday, August 30, 2024, at six thirty in the evening. The food is very delicious and worth trying again, but the problem is not the food. The rating is two stars for the food only, so as not to be unfair to the wonderful chef. When we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter - wearing a hair band - asked us about the reservation and we said that we did not have a reservation and he could have apologized to us, but he allowed us to sit down and when we ordered, we waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive, knowing that many customers came after us and started eating before us. My wife asked him for wet wipes and he said she could wash her hands in the bathroom - important information! - After that, when the account arrived and I paid, he told me that he wanted tips - in exchange for the great service - but I refused, and then he began speaking to me in a strange tone, a mixture of sarcasm and anger. For the first time in my life, I have given a low rating, but I ask the restaurant management to confirm what happened and to ensure that this situation does not happen to anyone but us.

Rather small shop, a bit off on a side street. A reservation is therefore recommended. The ambience is harmonious. The drinks are all delicious. I recommend the Hewad spritz. The starters were to die for. The main course was also very tasty and sufficient. The last positive surprise was the bill. Where else in Munich can you dine so deliciously and for less than 100 euros for 2 people with a starter, main course and 4 drinks?! I give my absolute recommendation to try this restaurant!

Delicious & diverse menu with many choices of entrees, Salads, chicken, Lamb & beef with Afghani bread & basmati rice. Spicy & authentic food. They have desserts and teas. Seating is limited so booking in advance is a must. Main dishes took a bit while to prepare & may be we were eating salads & entrees fast.

The small, family-run restaurant is located in a quiet street between the Sendlinger Tor and the synagogue and you are well advised to always reserve in advance, as it is busy in summer and winter. After the first visit, every guest knows why - the various dishes (chicken/lamb/beef/vegetarian & vegan) are all fantastically prepared, perfectly seasoned and simply taste great. Added to this is the relaxed, friendly service and the nice atmosphere of the simply furnished restaurant. Absolutely recommended! ⭐️

Highly recommended! We tried the place out of curiosity and were more than satisfied with our visit! It is a small restaurant (it is best to reserve in advance) with very friendly service. Open from 5:00 p.m. Was there at 5:05 p.m. and was sent out into the rain again with the request to wait because they were still preparing. That's a no-go in the catering industry, you don't send a guest back out the door, especially not when it's raining. He is offered a place. Or you can simply prepare on time by the specified opening time, that would be the easiest.

I ordered a dish based on lamb, Korme Shirin, and I came across pieces of beef, like a stew, easily recognizable by their fibers. I complained to the waiter, who assured me that it was lamb. In short, he really took me for a fool. And I should have taken a photo. Damage.

Beware: Food was great. We went off the google reviews. Got a table right away. Thought the prices were a bit high - but that's OK. Basic menu but very tasty. When it came time to pay - two people in our party felt very threatened after not leaving a tip. So - if you go - the food is great. The atmosphere is ok. But the service needs some help - and be prepared to tip.

The food is top. Likewise the drinks. Great ambience in the smallest of surroundings. Service so-so. If you notice it will be good. But you should signal a little more penetratingly that you have a wish ;-) You are very busy with yourself and less with the guests.

Delicious food and fast service

Very friendly crew! They didn't hurry us to leave the table even we stayed over time. The stewed chicken in the combination menu (with rice/spinach) tasted very good. The meat was tender and the portion was big enough for me as a foody girl. I also liked their mango yogurt drink, it had an appropriate consistency and was not too watery.

The service though, everything was fine until we asked for tapped water and they refused arguing that they can just serve tap water if.you order a bottle of wine (we ordered a lot of food). The waiter got super defensive and unreasonable after we insisted. The rest of the evening he kept staring at us and refused to talk to us. The food is amazing, but the service very unfortunate.

Very fine dishes, the spices are wonderfully balanced, the lamb was grilled to perfection, the aubergines in tomato were very fine and the rice was perfect, friendly service, cozy atmosphere, would be back again!

Estaba tratando de entender el menú y entré a pedir un menú en otro idioma y el camarero salió y me dijo en acento muy grosero que no debía entrar a tomar el menú yo mismo. El tono era muy grosero

Fantastic food! Both soups are great! From specialties we took Safran Tschalau Morgh and Tschabli Kabab and they both were great! Highly recommended!

Cuatro de nosotros comimos cordero estofado y arroz muy sabroso en una salsa de berenjena y tomate. Estaba tierno en la boca. A un precio razonable de 113€ por cuatro tuberías, 2 cervezas y 4 blandengues. Muy recomendable!

Oriental, delicious, every dish is sooo good!! Staff is very nice and funny. If anyone wants to eat there they have to “But order it as a drink.” Prices are okay too!

Absolutely the best Afghan food I’ve tasted and I’ve eaten in several across the world from London to New York. The menu is vast and lots to choose from including vegetarian options. And the portion sizes are generous and the food is delicious. There’s outdoor space and it’s located in a quiet neighbourhood. The interior is beautifully decorated with a nice ambience. I’d recommend this place and also, if I revisit Munich, I’ll come back here.

Made a booking for a Friday night and was told it would be alright to bring our two dogs with us (I specifically asked if they would be allowed), only to arrive and be denied a table because they apparently didn't have space for the dogs, and didn't want to inconvenience other patrons. The place was half empty and there were corners we could have put them in where they wouldn't have disturbed people - they're both old dogs and just sleep while we're eating. We haven't had a problem anywhere else, and then had to go and find a table at short notice on a Friday night somewhere else. I wouldn't have minded if they told us when I asked while making our booking that dogs aren't allowed, but to first say one thing and then another was very disappointing.

Recommended by a colleague on a weekend trip to Munich. It was very worth it. Very good value for money with excellent traditional Afghan cuisine. Service was very warm and friendly.

I went there often. At first I was a big fan, but now I wouldn't order or go there anymore. This time there was a bone splinter in the chicken rice dish, of course it is a natural product and can happen, but in this case it was rather grossly negligent. See photo everything fished out of the rice dish. The flatbread was also disappointing. It's better to leave it out than to provide something dry and tasteless. I don't have the feeling that the restaurateur prepared this with much love. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was also very over-seasoned and lacked salt. And unfortunately I also find the rice too dry. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this Afghan but instead you should go to the Hindu Kush who knows how to do it right.

Hewad is always exceeding expectations. The service is friendly and welcoming the food is delicious. Every time I go, I wonder if it’s really that good and then by the end of my meal I’m wondering when I’ll make the next reservation. Definitely reserve a table as the seating is limited. They do also do takeaway and delivery.

We are now regular customers at Hewad. The service, the ambience and the friendliness of the staff are not comparable to other Afghan restaurants. Hewad is in a completely different league. The food is also really above average and very, very good. Unfortunately we haven't been there for a long time because we don't have any more time But we've decided to stop by again soon because we've never been disappointed at Hewad (Recommendation for drinking hewad water, it really tastes like it's from another world, the boss was very creative. For eating, I would recommend quabeli palau or narenj palau, that's really something if you can't get enough of it and even though you're full, it's best to do it again would order because it tastes so good)

Food very tasty, service poor! It can take 20 minutes for the order to be placed. After ordering, the food comes very quickly, but the drinks usually only come after the meal or during the meal. This could be improved. Drinks should come before meals. The gentleman is very nice, but you should consider hiring another service person. I hope the criticism is received! Despite the poor service, we will be happy to come back. The food is simply unbeatable!

Interesting cuisine, lots of spices and flavors, a bit too much rice, could have been more meat. But it is highly recommended! Music was a bit too loud and it was a bit difficult to hold a conversation.

I've already eaten a few manti (munti), which always tastes good, but here... this was a poem... the same goes for braised lamb with almond rice... (I don't like rice but this was just fantastic!!!) First of all, I have to say that the food tasted really good and the service was extremely nice. We were just a little confused by the combination of the dishes. My eggplant with rice had very little eggplant and far too much rice. The ratio of main component to supplement was not correct. In the other dish, the lamb came with rice and a side dish that you could choose, either potatoes, spinach or eggplant. We found the combination of rice and potatoes a little strange and would have liked it better if there had simply been a good sauce with the lamb and rice instead of the side dish, with which you could then eat the whole rice, since rice without sauce can taste a little bland. All in all, our visit was very harmonious and delicious :)
