The waiter in the red knee socks, who initially ignored us before finally showing us to a table, wasn't exactly welcoming. We briefly considered leaving. Staying turned out to be the right decision, because Max (the handsome one 🤭) kept us entertained with his hilarious personality. Thanks, Max, and best regards from the three old ladies 😅

The price of beer for half a liter is ridiculously high.

An event was planned, but nothing went right. The event was shorter than planned, and nobody enjoyed it.

On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, we wanted to eat Bavarian food. We sat there for 15 minutes, trying to order, and every waiter and waitress just walked past us. It's not interesting when there are only two of you, not for tips or for spending money. It's better for a group. Those who arrived after us were served immediately. I will never visit this restaurant again!

I went here tonight with my dad to watch my miserably bad football team while visiting Munich on the way to Berlin… I called ahead and asked twice if the game would be on. It’s an American football team, so not many places here would play my game in the first place. Max, the team… let me just say, they spent probably 20 minutes minimum telling a loud table no and trying to figure out how to play my game. They were the most friendly, accommodating, fun staff, and even though we lost, my dad and I got welcomed into a wildly fun night by Max and his team and I can tell you that any chance I’d get to go back, I would. 10/10, I don’t care if my next meal was shite, I’d gladly eat it just to have another experience that like. They rock. What a great staff. What a great night. Thanks for making my dad and my trip to Munich awesome.

Two beers and two white sausages came to 19.80 euros. The sausages were soft and not salty, which was nice, and the first sip of Dunkel stout was delicious! It was around 9 p.m., so I sat outside for a quick drink. The server was friendly and polite from ordering to paying. At a previous restaurant, they asked me, "How much do you want to include tip?" without my consent, which was unpleasant. Here, the bill came to 19.80 euros. They asked me how much I wanted to tip, so I paid 2 euros in cash.

An amazing service! We’ve been traveling around different places in Germany, and usually people give you strange looks when you speak another language. But the woman who attended us, even though she didn’t speak English or any other language very well, treated us with incredible kindness and had such a great attitude. The place itself is very nice, but what really stood out to us was her warm and attentive service — a short, dark-haired woman with a nose piercing. Unfortunately, we didn’t ask her name, haha, but she was awesome! We’d definitely come back.

I would have liked to give this place 5 stars. The food was great. The atmosphere was really lovely and cozy and clean. All but one of the staff was very nice. We were here on a weeknight and it was not very crowded. We had one server who made some very weird comments to us. They made a comment about Asians to us while we had an Asian guest at our table. We were all weirded out by that. When they took our drink order they said they would come back for our food, it took about 45 minutes to come back for our food order. We were sitting at a high table and they kept touching one of the guests sitting closer to the walkway. When we went to pay they had a preloaded tip option (7% “Bad”, 14% “Good”, 18% “Great”). When we selected 7% they made a rude comment about it and walked off. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here.

When four leftovers are poured together to make a new Helles, it's just disgusting. When I pointed this out to the waitress, they asked me to rate it online. I'm happy to do so.

Very chic ambiance, staff seemed on the ball, but they would have liked to have asked more often if you'd like something to drink. Very tasty food, good value for money, and the portion size was about 10% too expensive for me. Perhaps due to the location...

The restaurant didn't really impress us. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, it's extremely loud inside while eating, making it difficult to have a conversation. The atmosphere feels like a simple cafeteria.

The key to happiness lies in a roast pork as a main course and a Kaiserschmarrn for dessert.

I came here because Hofbräu was so crowded. It's relatively quiet, so you can enjoy your meal leisurely. I recommend the sausages and burgers over the schnitzel.

I was able to get a glimpse into this restaurant through a company event. The reservation for over 30 people was made through an event company, which heightened the excitement about the quality and taste. Despite the number of us and the other guests in the busy restaurant, the food was highly praised by the group.

We only had beer, and everything was fine. The beer was seasonal, but it was served in a regular glass, not a stone one, as stated on the menu. It was excellent, though, and the service was friendly.

Very tasty Wiener schnitzel. The only beer served here is Paulaner, which I personally am not a fan of. The service was also very friendly. What I missed was Bavarian brass music.

Typical Bavarian food, a bit salty. The point that could be improved is that, as a foreigner, they ask you if you're just going to have a drink or something to eat, with a tone that seems to force you to order food.

During Oktoberfest... the food, well... the atmosphere was a disaster. If you want to eat in a disco, this is the place for you. 🙉. Our service, 5 stars plus, really did their best! Thanks for that.

There were five of us there, and we were really hungry. The service was extremely friendly, helpful, and quick. The food was soooo delicious, highly recommended! Fantastic! Everyone can find something to eat here, whether vegetarian, just a small meal, or something truly authentic and hearty. We'd love to go back.

It was so busy that the kitchen couldn't handle it. We waited a long time for the food; the meat was mediocre quality, and some of it was cold. However, the ambiance and service were very good.

We are the Rotary Club Munich 100 and meet regularly at Herrschaftszeiten. We feel very comfortable there: The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy 😊. Many thanks to Herrschaftszeiten and its team!

Although the atmosphere and location are very pleasant, the annoying behavior of a waiter towards customers who come at his own discretion unfortunately spoils the whole atmosphere and enjoyment.

The sausages at this place are delicious...... The beer glasses were really big, as big as our faces.... Since it was a street near the square, we could watch people passing by and hear the music, and it felt like Germany the best.

Was alright, beer was expensive and the 'waiter' who i had to go inside and find to pay before leaving expected and suggested a tip, for 2 beers this is rude and absurd.

Beautiful and almost sophisticated bauhaus.

They say it's open to everyone, but that's not true, at least not for me. I hadn't finished my beer yet, and my friend and I were chatting quietly in the corner. It wasn't German, of course, but it was just very quiet. Suddenly, the bouncer came up to us and told us to leave. I asked him why, and he said, "Just go." Of course, you can't say racist things out loud, so he just asked us to leave. I'll never go there again. The funny thing is: if you go in a group, no one bothers you. If you're alone, the staff get angry. Cowards.

The service is friendly, and seating is assigned. The food. I ordered grilled pork belly with red cabbage and mushroom sauce for lunch. The question is, where is the filling side dish? Does it have to be ordered separately? I was able to swap the red cabbage for a salad, which was very good. The meat slices were so thin. You could tell it was cold-cut, using a slicing machine. So it was older and had just been warmed up. So, it wasn't freshly grilled pork belly. The sauce tasted good. But for the money, you'd expect a bit more effort. Where's the passion to put something decent on the table for €12.90? The price-performance ratio isn't that good, even though the menu says the other dishes are very expensive, and the beer is among the most expensive in Munich. The restrooms are located in the basement and are not suitable for people with walking disabilities. The inn itself is poorly furnished, lacking in comfort and warmth, so unfortunately, you wouldn't want to linger there any longer. There is also a lovely garden in front and behind the restaurant.

I sat in the garden, which was pleasantly shady at lunchtime in August and also well protected from the road (valley). The service was friendly and attentive, and the wait times for drinks and food were short. The roast pork was delicious, and the portions were generous. I was surprised why the restaurant wasn't more busy. I only saw the interior, which was practically empty due to the warm weather, while I was using the restroom, and I had the impression that they could spruce things up a bit (e.g., I would find fewer high tables and more regular wooden tables more comfortable) – hence one point less for ambience.

A great place to taste local beer and eat real Bavarian pork knuckle.

We visited Herrschaftszeiten again during our short vacation in Munich – we received a very warm welcome (unfortunately, not a given with small children in other restaurants on Marienplatz) and were delighted to see the same friendly waiters as on our previous visit. The food was a bit more expensive – but the taste was highly recommended – the few extra euros are definitely worth it! As a family, we really appreciate being welcomed so warmly and lovingly – not so common these days! Thanks to the entire team – you can see that you enjoy your work – always a smile ready – see you next time! Or as our daughter would say: “I want to go back to the pork (sitting at the counter as a doll in lederhosen) and Max, who has such a funny mustache like Grandpa.”

Best downtown restaurant! Great food and drinks, the restaurant is beautiful, especially the indoor garden. Absolutely top-notch service and staff!

Fine dining! What I ordered: medallions of pork fillet. I would recommend this deliciously prepared meat dish to any guest! Personally, it was a delight to enjoy this exquisitely prepared dish prepared by the chef.

The non-alcoholic wheat beer was very, very tasty. Lena, the waitress, was very attentive and friendly :)

Very delicious food. We were served relatively quickly, but had to wait a long time for the bill. There was also a very tasty vegan dish. The portions aren't too generous, but still filling. For dessert, we ordered a very fruity, but not overly sweet, apple strudel. The neighboring table had Kaiserschmarrn as a dessert portion, which was perfectly sufficient as a main course.

It‘s freaking racism!! We visited here today then I told a staff “the table for two”, then he asked us to wait for two seats so we waited then after few minutes another staff seemed like manager came to us then he said that you have to have a reservation for 2ppl, no walk in. What the heck is he saying? The customers in line back of us are 8ppl but he let them inside and gave a table for them, of course without any reservation!! It’s really unfair and I cannot understand his attitude and action. I cannot see it‘s not racism!! Idk his name but he has mustache and yellow hair and he is tall. You guys cannot do business like that, if you treat foreigners with racism, you make the reputation of your country disgrace. Now I don’t want coming back to Germany again and also don’t want to recommend anyone to visit here. Good luck !!

We had an issue with our food arriving very late. We spoke to the manager about this and he dealt with our concerns with sensitivity and professionalism …… and very much to our satisfaction. The food, despite being rather late, was very good!

Brewery-style restaurant in the heart of the city. Although it was very loud, we felt very comfortable here. The ambiance is somewhere between rustic and modern. The service staff are on the ball and super friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are top-notch!

Good food, but the portions varied greatly. Everyone ordered from the daily specials, and while some barely managed to get a starter, others had enormous meals. Some of us had to reorder. But the atmosphere was great, and the staff were friendly, even when we forgot to order. I can definitely recommend it – it's a slightly different concept than any other traditional inn.

After serving our drinks, the waiter silently counts the cutlery placed in a container on our table. Later, after asking whether everything is alright, he suggestively glances at the table, checking for change in the cutlery container. Waiter made it obvious he finds us suspicious and is keeping an eye on us. Felt observed and disrespected. Dear Herrschaftszeiten, why the shamelessly obvious suspicion about foreign customers having malign intent?Also, why no iced coffee on the menu? Other than that, everything was great. Visited multiple times due to past positive experiences, but after today, the charms of Herrschaftszeiten's welcoming atmosphere and beautifully designed interior have wanished for us.

The food was good – but the Kaiserschmarrn wasn't quite fresh, so it wasn't quite as fluffy and caramelized, and the raisins were unfortunately partly burnt. The knuckle of pork was okay. The service was fast.

We can recommend it, we only drank 2 half-pints of dark beer, it was very good and tasted great, the staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was great, the location was great

First ever experience to try authentic Bavarian food. The food was delicious and huge serving. There were times we had to call their attention to follow up our order and concerns like water, utensils and etc. Usually there are lots of customers dining in, not much staff. Hence, it is kind of challenging to accomodate a high volume of customer flow.

Since we discovered this wonderful restaurant, it's become a must-visit when in Munich. The ambiance, service, and food and drink are simply fantastic; highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

First of all: the waiter was really nice and tried hard. The service was really good! Nevertheless, we have to say that the food and the associated price are simply not proportionate at all. We ordered two vegan Leberkäse (meatloaf) and one vegetarian artichoke heart. Both dishes were almost impossible to finish. The vegan Leberkäse (meatloaf) came with three pieces, served with mustard and 100g of potato salad. The potato salad tasted like it came from a supermarket and was worth a maximum of €2, and the Leberkäse (meatloaf) was SO DRY that it was almost impossible to eat without the mustard, and even less so without it. How can it cost over €13??! The artichoke heart wasn't any better, and above all, it was a portion that absolutely didn't justify serving this dish and charging almost €23 for it. We were really disappointed by how bad the food was for us. Maybe the meat dishes are better at this restaurant, but stay away from those two dishes. All three of us had terrible stomach problems that evening. Really a shame

We arrived slightly after the food service had ended, but the waiter kindly offered to make an exception—a gesture that already speaks volumes about the quality of the service. The burger was cooked to near perfection and was full of flavour. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the outdoor seating area is especially enjoyable on warmer days.

The food was incredibly delicious. I had the vegan dumplings. The location is fantastic, and the staff was very, very friendly. Bavarian cuisine with a modern twist. My wife had the roast pork, and the crust came separately and was deliciously crispy! Cool idea. Highly recommended!

The food and service are excellent. The Wiener Schnitzel is highly recommended, and the truffle fries are delicious. The restaurant has a garden terrace outside.

The schnitzel with fried potatoes, including two beers, is incredibly expensive at €60. The mashed potatoes are only three-quarters full, and the rest is foam.

It was probably a typical Bavarian restaurant: hard wooden chairs, loud, and crowded. OK, but unfortunately the service was unfriendly and the food mediocre. There was no non-alcoholic beer. Our schnitzels were standard, as were the side dishes. Too expensive for the value. We won't be back.

A solid restaurant in the heart of Munich. Accordingly, the prices are a bit on the high side, but in our experience, the food is excellent! The menu emphasizes locally produced products, which I think is a positive point, and you can taste it, too.

We went to Paulaner Herrschaftszeiten for lunch as a family with a child. The restaurant offers a nice menu with typical Bavarian dishes, which were already prepared and served relatively quickly. The service was attentive, if not overly friendly. I'm deducting one point for the somewhat high prices, in my opinion. Okay, the brewery is located on a busy tourist street, but still... I think €59 is a pretty steep price for two salads, two beers, and a children's plate with a dollop of mashed potatoes and a couple of Nuremberg bratwursts. Nevertheless, we would visit the restaurant again and recommend it to others. The "Chef de Service" does his job well, but seems a bit snooty :-)

Rude waitress. He didn't feel like doing his job at all. He made us wait 25 minutes and took our order incorrectly. After we pointed out that the order was incorrect, he tried to make excuses. The beer was half full. While I was drinking my beer, which was half full, I noticed that the incorrect orders continued. All the tables around me complained.

We didn't eat anything. The staff is super friendly and accommodating! A lovely restaurant. Combines tradition and modernity.

My colleagues' Bavarian food looked good. My salad was very soggy and not very seasoned, and a frozen chicken schnitzel for a total of almost €30 is a disgrace. The same goes for a 0.75 liter bottle of still water for €8... You can get that for free elsewhere.

Everything was good. The service was very friendly and quick. We were there quite early. Later on, it was busier, and it took longer to pay. But everything was okay. The food was pretty good and good value for money. We'll be happy to come back again. Thanks!

Food was outstanding and atmosphere was very good. Sadly our waiter made jokes regarding us ordering coffees in the evening and became very rude once we made it clear we didn't intend to tip. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was good but the service was poor. Our waiter was critical and objectionable to our ordering coffee in the early evening and subsequently when one of our main meals was late, he became very rude and combative regarding us choosing not leaving a tip. I suspect the kitchen was more responsible than the waiter however rather than state this he called us rude for not leaving a tip and was very very unpleasant. We paid the bill with no tip and suffered abuse for our choice. Would be willing to re-attend to give the venue another chance but any service anywhere near that again would warrant never visiting again and a one star review across the board.

We as a group received an extremely friendly welcome. We had reserved in advance. What we really liked was the combination of tradition and modern influences, which was reflected in the ambience and the food. Service was consistently attentive and quick. We felt very comfortable there and would love to come back.

We were pre-registered with 20 people on site on April 27th, 2025. The communication was very friendly and pleasant right from the start. The table assigned to us was perfect. The service was exceptionally good - every little detail was taken care of. Our waitress Lena was humorous, quick and extremely attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The food is served in generous portions – typically Munich, both in terms of prices and quality. We can absolutely recommend the restaurant
