As a group, we received a very friendly welcome. We had made a reservation in advance. What we really liked was the combination of tradition and modern influences, which was reflected in the ambiance and the food. The service was consistently attentive and prompt. We felt very comfortable there and would gladly return.

We were pre-registered with 20 people on site on April 27th, 2025. The communication was very friendly and pleasant right from the start. The table assigned to us was perfect. The service was exceptionally good - every little detail was taken care of. Our waitress Lena was humorous, quick and extremely attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We were in Munich with the family at the Reichsszeit (formerly Paulaner im Tal) and we were absolutely thrilled! The service was exceptionally good - every little detail was taken care of. Our server was humorous, quick and extremely attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The “freshly” renovated ambience invites you to linger and creates a really nice atmosphere. The food is served in generous portions – typically Munich, both in terms of prices and quality. I always enjoy coming here and can only warmly recommend Rules Times to everyone!

Main address if you go to Munich. Great food and service. Ambience modern yet classic. We were spontaneously allowed to tap a new barrel of light beer, which is of course an experience for someone who isn't Bavarian!

A traditional Bavarian restaurant right in the centre of Munich. We came here for a classic Bayern breakfast with weisswurst, sweet mustard sauce, pretzel, and a German spread, pickle and cheese board. Their coffee is Julius Meinl, so we enjoyed a good espresso before starting our breakfast. The apple soda was less sweet than what you’d find in British cuisine, and actually had more flavour. You might find the weisswurst a bit less flavourful on its own compared to bratwurst, as it’s just a boiled sausage, but it really comes alive with the sweet mustard sauce. Don’t make the mistake I did, make sure to peel the wurst before eating it. The pretzel was fresh with just the right amount of salt, and complemented the rest of the breakfast nicely. The spread board could have been better, as some of the spreads were a bit lacking in flavour for my taste. Also, keep in mind the pickles are sweet rather than salty. We finished with apple strudel for dessert, which was lovely and fresh—a sweet ending that wasn’t too much. The staff were friendly, though service did slow down a bit as the place got busier.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal in diesem Wirtshaus und rundum begeistert! Das Essen war traditionell bayerisch, super lecker und die Portionen mehr als großzügig. Die gemütliche Atmosphäre und die liebevoll eingerichteten Räume machen den Besuch zu einem echten Erlebnis. Ein besonderes Highlight war jedoch unser Kellner Dennis. Vom ersten Moment an war er aufmerksam, freundlich und hatte immer einen lockeren Spruch auf den Lippen. Seine Empfehlungen waren auf den Punkt und er hat uns das Gefühl gegeben, wirklich willkommen zu sein. So eine herzliche und professionelle Bedienung erlebt man selten – danke, Dennis, für den tollen Service! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder – und hoffen, dass Dennis dann auch wieder da ist!

The food was great, the waitresses (were there on two days) 10/10 both times. fun atmosphere in downtown Munich with easy online reservation. The food came quickly, even though there were 9 of us.

The food and drinks in this place are really good. The service is fast and friendly. A bit modern compared to other restaurants but it doesn't matter.

Unfortunately I have to correct my assessment from a year ago: The food was cold, the bread dumplings were hard and not edible, the meat was hard and tough. We won't be visiting the restaurant again. Price performance is in stark disproportion. .

Very good service, everything correct, good quality, normal price for the area.

We took advantage of the relatively new “Bam Bini Boazn” offer, which offers childcare for ages 3 and up on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our children immediately fell in love with the carer Julia and we were able to eat more relaxed than we had in a long time. They were actually alone for most of the time and of course they thought it was great - we were even kindly given a few stickers for the onward journey, which they were very happy about. Personally, I wasn't 100% impressed by the food; the crust of the roast pork was served separately and was very crisp, but somehow strange in consistency. The dumplings that came with it were also rather small - I didn't need much of the extra sauce for them. According to our companion, the cheese spaetzle wasn't quite perfect either. The side salad was really good and my husband was happy with his meal, as were the children with ice cream and fries...so in my opinion the positives outweigh the negatives and I don't want to complain. Particularly noteworthy is the extremely friendly service (greetings to Alex!), we were welcomed with the children and find the support during meals a great offer for parents. If we lived in Munich, we would definitely eat here more often.

0 stars. Absolutely unfriendly. We wanted to reserve a table. We don't need a statement. The place isn't full. We come in and don't get a table because everything is pre-booked. So get out again. This is not a service.

The food would be 5 stars if I had found another gluten-free dish besides the (excellent) Leberkäs with potato salad! There were 10 of us, we had a nice, quiet table and the food was consistently good. The prices are as they currently are in the catering industry - you know that in advance. The service is attentive and very friendly. We'd love to come back!

Nice quaint shop. Service is great, fast, attentive and very nice. Food was ok. But it didn't blow us away. I would say it's a matter of taste. Would still go again.

I ordered two non-alcoholic drinks and a sausage and meat dish. The food was very delicious, but when I tried to ask for the bill, I was ignored for a while. When I tried to call them, they went to take down the empty plates at other seats, or they pointed at me from a distance and laughed, clearly showing that they were deliberately ignoring me. I don't know if it's because I only ordered non-alcoholic food or because I'm Asian, but I felt so disrespected by the completely disrespectful attitude. I was shocked because no matter where I went to the shops in Germany, the people were always kind.

We had a great evening in a larger group. We also got a nice table, were served quickly and the food was also good. You have to live with the fact that it is very busy and attracts a lot of tourists

It was simply fantastic! We were in the restaurant in the evening with a sleeping toddler and were given a great welcome and asked straight away if we wanted a quiet table, which of course we gratefully accepted. Our waitress was also very, very nice and attentive. We had the Wienerschnitzel 3 times and it was really delicious. The only negative point would be that you have to pay extra for the side dishes, but you're happy to do that for good food. If we are in Munich again, we will definitely come back!😍

The food and service was to die for. The only point of criticism was that it was extremely loud because unfortunately a larger group had the table right next to us. You almost didn't understand your own words anymore.

There were several of us and we wanted to test the vegan meatloaf. We were thrilled: taste, consistency, color, everything was perfect. A little too perfect. When asked, it turned out that the waiter had obviously ignored the “vegan” mentioned several times and brought us all normal meatloaf! For me as a vegetarian it's just completely wrong. I ended up getting the vegan meatloaf, but it looked more like three slices of brown bread and is definitely not recommended. The whole thing ended with a lot of unfriendliness and incorrect billing for the service. A lousy experience from start to finish that will unfortunately remain in my memory.

A nice Bavarian restaurant. The food is delicious and satisfying. You may prefer this place instead of the nearby touristic Hofbrauhaus. I think it's a much nicer environment.

Fuimos de casualidad buscando un sitio para tomar una copa, y la verdad es que nos lo pasamos muy bien y acabamos cenando ahí. Muy buen Roastbeef y schnitzel, regado todo con abundante cerveza. Alexander nos trató estupendamente y el ambiente realmente acogedor. Totalmente recomendable para beber y comer.

We went on Friday the day of our arrival, the truth is, we came because we saw that there was room and we were really right!!, pleasant atmosphere, you could talk, good music and excellent Paulaner (Helles) beers. We ordered a schnitzel and roast beef to share, which were also very good, the waiter Alexander served us perfectly, he invited us to a round of schnaps and then we invited him to him. It was a great success to enter and we had a great time as our first night in Munich. We recommend it 100%

Children and strollers not allowed. We were there at a relaxed lunchtime with a stroller and were turned away because there wasn't enough space. Interestingly, other guests with children without carts who came in behind us were also turned away. We didn't discuss with the gentleman at the entrance whether that's true and whether there's no room in a restaurant that's not even half full, but we won't be coming back either. I think it would be honest to hang a "Adults only" sign on the door, then you can save both sides from such unpleasant situations.

Unfortunately very, very loud, you have to shout at each other to be heard. The food is good, but I wouldn't recommend the place to vegans or vegetarians. We waited a long time for the food. Ambiance: beer hall character.

Simply wonderful! Both the food and the service are excellent. Delicious food based on Bavarian art, which arrives at the table quite quickly after ordering. The beer, Paulaner, tastes very good. Particularly good: there are Paulaner from a wooden barrel on special occasions. Absolutely recommended - go and see for yourself!

A nice restaurant and bar with good food and service. Our waiter went out of his way to check the bar for a flavoured gin and came back to us with a recommendation of a German gin that changes colour when tonic is added. It was very nice even though we like to have our gin with lemonade. The food was delicious and had some good vegetarian options. It was also compatibly priced for the center of Munich. A nice atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend.

If the hut is full, it has the charm of a train station and is not for old people or those sensitive to noise. If you don't have a problem with that, you're in good hands here. Nice service and really good food and therefore five stars from me.

Nice place. HowEver, if i was the business owner i would not let the tall guy with blond dyed hair work in the place for a minute. Very unprofessional and rude. Avoid having the trouble of negativity as its not worth it to spend your money at such a place. Good luck.

As a resident of Ingolstadt, when you asked where the food was, you were rudely directed out of the restaurant to the McDonald's next door. The innkeeper said that there was fast food there. Cheers meal!

“ Disappointing from start to finish - never again!” We were looking forward to a lovely evening, but what awaited us was simply disappointing. The service was unfriendly and showed no appreciation when we tried to leave a tip - instead we were fobbed off with an arrogant comment. The food? My main course consisted of a burnt, tough piece of meat that was barely edible. When I complained it was dismissed as if it was normal. No apology, no replacement – ​​just nothing. For the prices and the supposedly high standard, this was an absolute failure. This inn really deserves zero stars!

Very touristy, which is to be expected in the location. When I ordered I was assured that the potato salad with the pork knuckle was homemade, but that was definitely wrong, it was out of the bucket.

Super delicious food, I had the roast pork which was very tender and juicy. Despite many guests, we were seated quickly, even without a reservation. The service was super nice and attentive. The only negative point was the men's toilet, which was a bit old.

We waited 1 hour (!) for our food, unfortunately when we looked around at neighboring tables many of them felt the same way; The taste was okay but no revelation, service was nice at first, but when I asked about the waiting time it became annoying. In addition, a supplement was forgotten (added upon request). In both situations, no “sorry” or anything like that as you would expect in a good restaurant. Prices are juicy. Due to the circumstances, give a small tip, whereupon we were said goodbye with “thanks anyway”. Well, there are enough restaurants in Munich ;-)

On Christmas Day we were here for the vegan white sausage breakfast. We have never eaten such good vegan white sausages! Ambiance, service (Hind), everything was great! We'll be back!

Were there for New Year's dinner, Absolutely brilliant location for groups of 4 and over. The food all came together (starter with main course) and we had no space at all on the table. Main courses are large portions and are completely sufficient for those who are very hungry. If you order the tartar extra spicy, it will only be spicy. Sometimes the food was no longer hot.
