Zur Schwalbe in München

I'm on vacation and in a bad mood. I just stopped here for a few beers. They were warm and friendly, they brightened my day.

One of the best Augustiner beers in Munich. I will come again!

A great place for everyone. It's a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space inside. You can have a nice chat, play cards, enjoy great food, and they have all kinds of drinks. I highly recommend this place; it's a must-visit! 😎👍👍😎

Good food, good service & a friendly atmosphere. You need reservations for weekends unless you get here early with a small group as this place gets very busy. Just about every table is reserved. The staff & local customers are very friendly, even the four legged ones.

We would have appreciated a friendly word, a smile would have been nice, but I guess you can't expect one. I've never felt so much like a nuisance and a beggar in a restaurant. It's a shame, because everything else at the Schwalbe was perfect.

I last ate there a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, everything was so salty that I felt physically unwell afterward. The (pork) gravy was so thickened that it had a gelatinous consistency... I won't be back until the restaurant stops advertising a chef on its website, or when they finally find one. No trained chef would have let my roast pork go out like that... Great beer garden in the backyard, usually down-to-earth food, not overpriced...

Lovely atmosphere in an old pub. We didn't eat anything, but the white wines were good! The owner and his team were very friendly and attentive. We'll be back!

Amazing atmosphere, was greeted quickly and had an english menu given. Very nice bearded server explained the dishes and the drinks. Would recommend, good food, good garden and great service!

The food was good and the service was very decent. The only downside was that, despite having made a reservation several days in advance, we were assigned a side table in the entrance area.

We've been here on various occasions. Just for an after-work beer, a Christmas party, or a good dinner. Yesterday, I was simply astounded again. Friendly people, everyone on the ball, and the food was worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant. You won't find currywurst and fries here. They serve "jus" (juice) and beautifully presented dishes. It resulted in an explosion of flavors. And we are absolutely thrilled. Keep it up! We'll be back! P.S.: Since there isn't much space, we'll only tell a select few :D

We spontaneously stopped by the Schwalbe and didn't regret it. Although it was quite busy on a Sunday evening, we still managed to get a seat in the lovely beer garden in the courtyard. The service was very friendly, quick, and attentive. The food—schnitzel with potato salad and pretzel salad—was delicious. Thank you very much!

A real insider tip! The service is not only extremely friendly, but also pleasantly prompt, so you don't have to wait long. What's particularly great: the food recommendations are spot on. The beer arrives nice and cold, and even we Cologne natives feel at home, as they also offer a small 0.25-liter Helles beer 😉🤣. The food is outstanding, both in terms of taste and appearance, beautifully presented, and with attention to detail. All in all, two successful visits here! I'll definitely be back again.

Nice restaurant, friendly service. It was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon; we had to wait a bit for our order, and one item was unfortunately forgotten or not passed on to the kitchen. The food is good and tasty, and the portion sizes are generally decent. Unfortunately, the chocolate cake with a hazelnut cream center was no longer lukewarm and was really very small. For the price of just under 10 Swiss francs, I wouldn't order it again. There's a small bowling alley.

Potato soup was delicious. First time trying a schnitzel, so I don't have anything to compare it to. It was good, but maybe not my thing.

We sat in the beer garden. Super cozy! Unfortunately, the portions are small, the dishes are too hip and the prices are too steep. That used to be better. Too bad

Cozy Bavarian inn. The service was friendly and attentive. Portions are reasonable for the price. If you like it: there is also the non-alcoholic Augustiner. Reservations are recommended for groups as there are not many tables.

Discovered by chance and immediately fell in love! The South Tyrolean mountain farmer's salad was a dream. Also the schnitzel and the goulash. Hearty & creative cuisine with seasonal fresh vegetables. Chef's Kiss!

really really tasty!!! Had a spontaneous business lunch there. I immediately felt comfortable and received a friendly welcome. Try the potato salad!!! that was great. Schnitzel was great too! Unfortunately we were too full for dessert but it would have been just as good as the rest of the meal.

I was here with my parents in the summer and had a wonderful time. The food is excellent, freshly prepared and tastes excellent. I was particularly impressed by the staff, who tried to fulfill every wish of the guests with great friendliness and attentiveness. The atmosphere was very inviting and you felt completely comfortable. I can't wait to come back! We had fish and onion roast.

Wow - what a surprise! What looked like a student bar has gourmet food! We were there for dinner on a Thursday - good thing we reserved ahead - and really enjoyed ourselves. Super nice service, great food. Only drawback is that it is a little loud. But that way you know you went out!

Nice, Bavarian restaurant. Very crowded when I visited. The traditional bowling alley provides entertainment, the staff is very friendly and on the ball. The food (here crusted roast, snack board and schnitzel) was good middle class. A visit is recommended - but you should definitely reserve in advance!

Hands down the Best place I have eaten in Munich, possibly all of Gemany. The staff were very nice and helpful. The restaurant is small and gives such a home like feel. The hospitality is Amazing, and the food is just as good. I kept telling people to eat here during my stay and wish I had discovered this gem sooner so I could eat here again. A must go, prices are reasonable, I highly recommend.

Wir sind durch Zufall hier gelandet und waren sehr positiv überrascht. Netter kleiner Biergarten im Hinterhof, die Bedienung flott und sehr freundlich. Was uns schon gefallen hat, daß sie bei der Essensbestellung informiert hat (und entschuldigt), daß es etwas dauern kann. Aber das war kein Problem. Das Essen hat es wieder entschädigt. Es war sehr sehr lecker. Insgesamt gesehen: Bedienung (und zwar alle): super, Das Lokal und der Biergarten: sehr gemütlich, Essen: super Auch wenn es nicht unser Eck ist……wir wollen wiederkommen.

Really grubby pub, no shishi and the food is more than solid. Prices are still decent and the beer garden is pleasantly shady.

Nice little beer garden, the Viennese style schnitzel arrived a bit pale, the suspicion was unfounded, the breading was crispy, the meat was juicy, the potato salad was good. The service was attentive, but I still deducted a star because you are only allowed to play chess in exceptional cases, which is a shame. There was no problem with playing chess this time, maybe it was due to the weather. The crusty roast was really bad, tough because it was grilled again to warm it up, and there was too much sauce thickener in the sauce. The coleslaw didn't have enough water, but I added a lot of caraway seeds, which was fine. 1 point deducted for the food, 1 point more for the service.

Munich is famous for grumpy beer garten services but this place has out of ordinary service level with modernized yet delicious Bavarian dishes. Of course, close to the Augustine beer brewery, you can get the fresh beers here as well. They also have lovely outdoor seating for anyone love to drink beer in breeze! This is a cute and high-level service beer park that is highly recommended. The service staff are very friendly and will confirm your needs in a timely manner. The service level is really one of the best among Munich's beer parks! There are outdoor seats and very special and innovative Bavarian cuisine. It is not too heavy, and it retains the traditional flavor without being too greasy. Many traditional medium, heavy, salty and large portions have been slightly improved, and they are also very suitable for Asian tastes. Not only is the location convenient, but they also deliver super fresh beer every day! Recommended for those who like warm snacks, want to try something new and experience a wonderful beer park experience.

Quiet little beer garden behind the house! Good food and top price

There were three of us in this restaurant. None of us liked the food. The service was nice but inexperienced. Sitting on the benches was no fun either. Finding a parking space is also not easy. I don't need it again.

We had our office event in Zur Schwalbe. The service was pretty good. We had cheese platters, some cold cut meat, potato salad, breads and dips as starters with drinks. For the main course, there was a buffet with chicken, chickpea coconut curry with rice. The chickpea coconut curry was really good, everything else was average.

Great, old bowling alley (apparently the oldest automated bowling alley in Munich), which is not in the basement, but in a slightly separated room, right next to the restaurant. Delicious beer! Come again.

I don't know what Schwalbe does with the beer, but the Augustiner simply tastes best here! Very pleasant pub atmosphere with a bowling alley, delicious food and very friendly and fast service. The beer garden in the courtyard is very cozy!

Great economy, rustic and atmospheric. Celebrated my birthday here at the bowling alley, great fun for everyone! Always friendly staff, just as friendly regular guests. One of the most beautiful little pub gardens I know of in Munich. An absolute gem and always worth a visit in my opinion!
