The cheesecake at the Heimatküche restaurant in Freiburg is the best I've ever had. Fluffy, with fresh raspberries – simply heavenly! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff round off the experience perfectly. Highly recommended!

The food is simply fantastic! It's impressive to see how much love and care goes into preparing the dishes. Everything is freshly produced, which you can immediately tell from the taste. The ingredients are of very good quality, which makes the food not only delicious but also sustainable. I ordered the turkey schnitzel and it was a real treat! In which restaurant can you still hear that the schnitzel is being made these days? The selection of drinks was also excellent. The service was also first class. The staff was friendly, attentive and always had an open ear for questions or recommendations. You can tell that there is a real team behind the concept here, passionate about good food and hospitality. I highly recommend this restaurant! If you're looking for a place to enjoy delicious home-grown food, this is the place. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We are from Mexico and they took great care of us in addition to the good taste of the food.

There were two of us and a large group arrived at the same time - waitress quickly took our order. Food (especially the spaetzle) was excellent. It would be nice if smoking was forbidden outside, but unfortunately that doesn't happen often.

The food was very good, I've rarely had such a good schnitzel, huge and tasty... You could hear fresh knocking coming from the kitchen. Even though we were there very late, we still got something to eat... The portions were gigantic. TOP KEEP UP 👍😍

Correct bar to eat traditional Black Forest food. Perhaps because the level of other restaurants in the region was very high and we had high expectations, but the place disappointed us a little. I would define the food as correct and very abundant, yes, but I didn't think it deserved to have almost a 5. We ordered a Schnitzel and the Maultaschen and both were delicious, but as I say, a little plain.

Very tasty thick and large but still tender schnitzels in many variations. Service super fast and friendly. Clean location. If there is a criticism here that a restaurant with the name Heimatküche is not run by the natives, I have to ask myself what they choose. The food is good and Baden cuisine is not something that only Baden people can do. As long as it's good, it doesn't matter where the owner comes from! I'm cooking Thai tomorrow even though I'm not from there either. Card payment was possible without any problems and I can recommend the restaurant.

We were looking for a Baden restaurant and ended up in Heimatkuche by chance. Very tasty and really more than enough food. Schnitzel with 2 side dishes, you could choose different side dishes yourself, best cordon bleu I've eaten so far. Very friendly service and a very nice atmosphere. We'd love to come back.

The restaurant is called local cuisine, which should actually refer to Baden specialties, but is run by Arabs, at least during our visit, and unfortunately you can taste that too. The service staff was anything but friendly and was busy with a lot of things, but not the service. You had to go in several times to place orders or request something that wasn't provided. The gentleman who obviously worked in the kitchen, on the other hand, was courteous and friendly and fortunately took care of the service after cooking, which helped with a 1 star rating. Maybe it would be better to choose a different name for the restaurant and offer different dishes, because it probably has no future. The table was completely crooked outside and the service staff didn't fix it. Maybe he just didn't understand what was being said. That was the first visit and unfortunately also the last... What a shame...

We ate out very often 2 years ago and were often satisfied. Unfortunately the quality has changed, the prices are higher everywhere, but the portion is smaller, the taste of the sausage salad was not good, and very little Brägele, a shame., disappointed. The service was good. The waitress was also alone. In addition, the garden restaurant was not inviting, which is a shame...sorry we didn't like it today.

Great restaurant, very friendly staff, we were only there for the iron but the neighboring tables looked very good, we will come back but then for good food. The only deduction for the men's toilet is the unpleasant smell. Under these circumstances I didn't want to change my child's diaper. Initially chosen as an emergency option, the restaurant surprised us positively. The menu evoked skepticism due to its presentation. I then chose the cordon bleue with fries (€16.50). This came with a side salad on a wooden board. A mighty stuffed schnitzel. Filled with really good ham and cheese. No convenience, which is what I expected. Quite the opposite. The chef did a very good job with good material. Chapeau What should I say now? Let's start with the price. The cordon bleu with fries and a side salad costs 24.50 euros. The non-alcoholic wheat at 5.50 euros. The cordon bleu was filled with processed cheese. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't notice any ham. Even though we were the only guests, the service didn't manage to look after us attentively. We had to go out for repeat orders. We experienced exactly the opposite of what prompted my previous review.

We were there in April for my mother's birthday dinner. Unfortunately, not everything was as great as at first glance. The cook probably didn't have his best day. My father's asparagus wasn't good because it was still far too hard, although cooking something like that properly is easy for any cook! A good cook should know that a mushroom ragout is only made in the mushroom season! And never take mushrooms from a jar!!! The ragout was really inedible and stayed on the plate! A good waitress should have seen that when she took the plate back! And the cook too! You should at least ask...but unfortunately nothing happened. That's a shame because we actually thought the restaurant was of a better standard! Unfortunately, probably not. Everyone was very disappointed and probably won't come again!

We always like to go there for dinner, ideal for us at the university clinic around 5 to 10 Minutes away. Food great never before and everyone is so friendly. Definitely coming back 🥰

We made reservations for Mother's Day dinner with the whole family. Drinks were requested and brought immediately. Overpriced and there are only 0.2 soft drink bottles for €3.50 and no large soft drink in a glass. Drinks were always asked for and brought quickly... of course given the steep prices. Due to our reservation with around 20 people, we had to decide on 5 dishes in advance when making the reservation. When ordering it was said that one dish would only be available 3 times...flambée. If you wish, you can order something outside of the selected dishes. You got a stroppy, unfriendly answer. We selected special dishes... well then you should have them too... and tarte flambée is not an extensive dish. The food came a good 1.5 hours later...one person was forgotten...oh that was given to someone else. Economy was almost empty. Despite everything, the service was stressed/annoyed. If you come at half past two and get your food around three, even though the restaurant wasn't full... that's cheeky... and at the end the smallest child gets his fries... while the adults have their food... incomprehensible. Every question was too much. Food was meager for the price. Both food and drinks were not in proportion to the price. 1 scoop of ice cream 1.70 it was said...kids had a waffle and were outside in the sun. Pay CASH immediately no...on account. We were charged over 2 euros per ball because we are commercial customers. When asked to pay...again the stressed waitress rolled her eyes...immediately...asked again after about 30 minutes...yes 2 minutes...waiting forever again...asked again...yes straight away....after a good hour it was time for the checkout...she had to calculate everything with the calculator....and it took forever until she had the prices of the food and drinks. Because of her stressed work, this took even longer. You couldn't imagine a nice Mother's Day lunch in a different way. We won't all be coming back.

My husband says "best schnitzel in all of Freiburg and the surrounding area", and we know many, including high-priced, restaurants. But it's not just the various schnitzels that are worth a visit to the local kitchen. One of my favorites are the “veal cheeks”. 0.2 l of cola costs €3.50 🤯 I'll do a quick calculation: Purchase 24×0.2 = €15 This results in 24x€3.50=€84 In the past, purchases were counted times 3. Here it is 5.6 times. 😕😵‍💫🙄

Very tasty and really generous portions. Price is also ok and when the weather is nice you can sit outside. Conditions were also very friendly. We would like to come a second time.

Went there for the first time yesterday. They said we only had an hour because a larger group had registered. It was ok for us until the second waitress came and said we only had 30 minutes, then corrected it to 45 minutes. After we sat down and ordered two Cordon Bleu and she came after 10 minutes, she left 3. Waitress made her face and said the kitchen was so chaotic, she didn't know if it would work. Then we got up and left.

One of my 2 favorite restaurants, I really enjoy coming here with my family... Breakfast at the cafe royal is great if you want to have a hearty breakfast, the menu offers... there is something for everyone... the bosses and the service are extremely welcoming 💞 and in summer the terrace is a wonderful place to switch off

Cannot find anything good among the food and the service. Not worth the time

We were there on a Sunday for a late lunch and early dinner. Kitchen was open, which is not the case with many restaurants before 5pm! Great food, very tasty and beautifully presented! Our waiter was also nice and very attentive. 👍🏽

The term local cuisine is very misleading. Schnitzels are simply thrown into the fiteuse. Many ready-made components of the dishes. Wine on the menu is either not available or not chilled. Certainly the opposite of home cooking or grandma's kitchen.

Nice atmosphere, but the cheese spaetzle were really not good. Drowning in cheese and dried onions, the spaetzle from the package and completely over-salted. The menu doesn't have much for vegetarians. Unfortunately, the service is not very attentive either.

The journey was worth it. Great food for those who are very hungry. Everything was really tasty. Here were jalapeno schnitzel and veal wiener schnitzel.

I had dinner here with friends for the first time on March 10, 2024 and I must say that I had a very good time! When I arrived at 8.15pm the place was empty and there was only the table booked for us. This made me suspicious, because usually an empty place is a sign of not being liked by the local people or of little success. But this is not always the case: in fact this fact allowed the waiter to serve us perfectly to all 11 people, satisfying every request. The food is plentiful and of good quality. Prices are slightly higher than average, but ultimately it's worth it for the service and food! The bathrooms are equipped and clean! I recommend going there!

A nice, simply furnished restaurant. The owner was super friendly. And the food was just so delicious and what a good portion. Top schnitzel and the sauce to put in it haha.

I ordered trout (complete with boiled potatoes). Trout comes with almonds, the combination is quite interesting. There was also a present from the chef. Divine crispy baguette with spread.

After we couldn't go to the 'Old Zöllner' because of my dog, we looked for something nice nearby. I'm glad we ended up here. Super nice service and soooo delicious food, real recommendation!

The price is rather high but the taste is right

So the evening went completely wrong. I've been there many times but that one was really, really bad. 2 tables occupied. Staff 4 people. Well, the card was brought to us as soon as we were seated. And that was it. After a quarter of an hour I went to the counter and asked if we could order. Menu prices have really risen since summer! Well, if performance also suffers as a result... my cheese spaetzle looked and tasted as if they had ended up in a cheese fondue from the package. The way they look today could really be the case. So I have a lot of doubts about homemade, since I eat homemade ones in places/friends... then you shouldn't use the cheapest frozen products for the croquettes. Salad was delicious. Then we reordered a drink (the restaurant only had one other table occupied. Here too we were forgotten again. Last but not least, we had to look for someone ourselves to pay. If I hadn't gotten to know the shop beforehand, I would have discouraged anyone from going there after yesterday What do you do when the shop is full??? Unfortunately, as always, the music is too loud for conversations at the table! You never know if a restaurant tester will stop by your place...

We ate a la carte at Christmas with 15 people. The food was very tasty without any restrictions. Some restaurants can learn a lesson here. Service was also very good. We'd love to come back.

We had a really good meal here! The schnitzel and the cordon bleu were very tender and the breading was crispy, and the spaetzle with the sauce was also very good. The portions were plentiful, the beer was delicious and the host and landlady were extremely nice. We felt very comfortable and would eat here again if we visit Freiburg again.

Geschmacklich top, sehr große Portionen

Die angebotenen Speisen waren reichlich, sehr gut gewürzt und schmackhaft. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist als angemessen zu bewerten. Ich nehme mal an, dass durch den Mitarbeiter Notstand in der Gastronomie der Service nicht ganz so aufmerksam war, wie es deren eigenen Ansprüchen entspricht. Es war ein schöner Abend und sollten wir wieder in die Ecke von Deutschland kommen, wird dieses Restaurant natürlich erneut besucht.

War zum ersten mal gestern hier Essen. Das Ambiente war sehr schön und vorallem ruhig, sodass man sich gut unterhalten konnte. Das Essen war richtig lecker und kam nach der Bestellung sehr zügig. Qualität war sehr gut und man wurde sehr gut satt. Der Service hat leider beim Bringen der Getränke ein Drink vergessen, sodass wir nochmals darauf hinweisen mussten. Insgesamt aber eine schöne Atmosphäre mit guter heimischer Küche und gutem Essen. Ich würde wieder kommen.

Super Restaurant mit freundlichem Personal. Das Essen sah nicht nur appetitlich aus, es hat auch fantastisch geschmeckt. Hauptgerichte sind verschiedene Schnitzelvarianten, welche auf Holzbrettern serviert werden . Es gibt jedoch auch vegetarische Alternativen. Die Portionen haben eine gute Grösse. Auch mit einem Kleinkind kann man dort super essen. Mein Mann hatte das Ur-Schnitzel, ich die Käsespätzle und unser Sohn ein Schnitzel mit Spätzle und Sosse.

Wir waren im Urlaub da um den Europapark zu Besuchen und wollten nur Mal irgendwo was einfaches essen. Doch dann haben wir erst das super leckere Brot mit der selbstgemachten Kräuterbutter bekommen und danach noch ein richtig gutes Schnitzel mit Pommes. Zum Anschluss gab es hausgemachtes Eis mit Früchtestücken drinnen. Für den Preis dann noch. 10 von 5 Sterne. Schade das es 7h weit weg ist.

Esperienza fantastica! Io e il mio ragazzo, italiani al primo approccio con piatti tedeschi, siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti delle nostre ordinazioni. Abbiamo mangiato la schwarwald schnitzel e un altro piatto principale di involtini di manzo su purè di patate, cavolo rosso, a fondo bruno. Piatti squisiti e molto ben presentati. Molto abbondanti. Locale curato, elegante e servizio impeccabile. Personale molto gentile. Siamo rimasti davvero colpiti, torneremo sicuramente... ! Danke!!!

Situé dans un bon endroit avec parking à proximité, ce restaurant propose une large choix tant en que plats allemands qu’étranger. L’ambiance intérieure est très sobre . Bon choix de multiples Schnitzel !

Kuchen , Kaffee waren lecker, die Speisekarte mit super Auswahl. Leider ist der Service langsam und auch nur begrenzt freundlich. Wir waren etwas irritiert über den harschen Empfang von uns und anderen Gästen und die lange Wartezeit.

Leckeres Essen und vor allem sehr große Portionen - das wars aber auch. Bedienung total überfordert. Man wartet lange auf Getränke und Essen. Am Ende weiß die Bedienung nicht mal mehr wie viel und was man getrunken hat - das muss der Gast noch aufzählen. Nach Ansprache dies bezüglich war die Bedienung sehr unfreundlich. Schade!

Das Restaurant bietet viele badische Spezialitäten an, manches ist allerdings nicht immer verfügbar. Dies weist m. E. auf die Frische der Produkte hin. Die Portionen sind z. T. sehr groß. Die Wartezeit ist aufgrund der Qualität angemessen. Das Personal ist durchweg freundlich und aufmerksam. Was wir noch etwas lustig fanden waren die Zuckerstreuer, die sich noch vom Nachmittags-Kaffee auf dem Tisch befanden. Pfeffer- und Salzstreuer suchte man vergebens.

Jedes Mal alles perfekt. Super Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung, schneller Service. Sehr zu empfehlen!!

Eine einfache Karte mit einfachen Gerichten. Gut zubereitet, ordentlich serviert. Schade dass der freie Platz auf der Rückseite des DINA4-Blattes nicht für die Getränlekarte genutz wurde. Es gibt nämlich nicht nur gute Weine, sonder auch ein gutes Bier.

Man sitzt eine halbe Stunde in einem fast leereren Restaurant, wird mehrfach gesehen und komplett ignoriert. Bei aller liebe aber so gehts nicht !

Wir haben tolle abend gehabt. Essen war super lecker. Bedienung war aufmerksam. Und tolle Ambiente. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
