Das Restaurant hatte eine tolle Atmosphäre. Es gab auch ein paar vegetarische Gerichte und eine riesige Getränkekarte. Das Personal war super freundlich und das Eis war einfach köstlich.

Man fühlt sich ein bisschen in die 80ger zurückversetzt. Cooler Biergarten, kein Schnickschnack, sehr nettes Personal, bodenständiges, gutes Essen in großzügigen Portionen. Ab jetzt Pflichttermin, wenn wir in Freiburg sind!

Freundliches Essen aber Cordon Bleu mit Spätzle hat leider nach nichts geschmeckt.. Hoffentlich war es nur ein schwacher Tag.

Flammkuchen klassik bestellt - serviert wurde ein Flammkuchen mit einer durchgehenden Schicht an fettigem Emmentalerkäse. Auf Reklamation wurde die Bedienung patzig - Käse stehe schliesslich mit in der Speisekarte. Auf einen klassischen Flanmkuchen elsässer Art gehört an und für sich gar kein Käse. Wenn man schon welchen verwenden mag, dann bitte in angemessenen Rahmen! Ich habe 8/10 des Flammkuchen zurück gehen lassen. Uns wurde nicht angeboten, einen neuen Flammkuchen mit weniger Käse zu bekommen, noch sonst irgendeine Kompensation. Mein Mann ist Stammgast - wir lassen sonst wirklich nichts zurückgehen. Die Bedienung war aber einfach nur patzig. Erst als ich die Situation beim Bezahleb erwähnt habe (anderer Kellner) wurde uns als Wiedergutmachung Getränke aufs Haus angeboten. Da waren wir aber schon am Aufbrechen. Bestellt einfach nie Flammkuchen, das was kommt, hat mit dem Original nichts zu tun.

Zunächst das Gute: Man sitzt nett mit großem Biergartenflair im Außen- und urig im Innenbereich, leider reicht das aber nicht, um dem Gast das Gefühl eines gelungenen Restaurantbesuchs zu vermitteln. Nachdem ich vor einigen Wochen mich wunderte, wie man Knödel hinbekommt, die zu süß schmecken (schmeckte, als hätte man Hefekuchenteig verwendet), wollte ich dem Ganzen heute nochmals eine Chance geben. Leider war das heutige Erlebnis so schlecht, dass es mein zweiter und letzter Besuch war. Selten so ein geschmacklich schlechtes Schnitzel gehabt....irgendein sehr unangenehmer Nebengeschmack zerstört alles und ich Stelle mir ernsthaft die Frage, wie das beim klassischen "Wienerart"- Schnitzelrezept überhaupt passieren sollte. Hinzu kam lapprige Panade und "todgebratenes Fleisch"...naja, muss man auch erstmal hinbekommen. Das zweite Gericht meiner Partnerin war das Sternen Dreierlei.... Wurstsalatdressing viel zu sauer und lieblos, hinzu kam aber auch, dass die Bratkartoffel nach Knoblauchpulvergranulat schmecken....wer damit noch kocht, sollte besser umschulen. Leute: Was kostet den schon frischer Knoblauch? Angesprochen, wie wir es fanden, sagte ich auch, dass es leider nicht gut war....und versuchte auch zu schildern was schief lief. Wenn ich dann zum Knoblauchgranulat aber nur ein: "Das kann eigentlich nicht sein" höre, dann will man auch nix ändern und interessiert sich auch nicht dafür, dass man wieder kommt. Falls man sich in der Küche fragt, ob ich überhaupt Ahnung von guter Küche habe: ja, bin in einer Familie mit ausgebildetem langjährigen Koch und zusätzlich einer begnadeten Hobbyköchin großgeworden, koche schon als Kind leidenschaftlich...ich weiß, was ich in einem Restaurant unter einem halbwegs anständigen Schnitzel erwarten kann. Das Hauptproblem liegt meiner Meinung nach darin, dass die Küche Gewürze einsetzt, die zunächst mal nicht zur Speise passen. Das nächste Problem scheint zu sein, dass man wohlgemeinten Kritik nicht annimmt, stattdessen eher versucht sich unprofessionell zu verteidigen und noch nicht mal die Kritik bis zum Ende anhört. Eigentlich bin ich kein Mensch, der negative Kritiken abgibt, wohlwissend, dass Geschmäcjer auch unterschiedlich sein können. Ich bin eher der "Ja war gut"-Typ und schlucke eher meine Meinung herunter, wenn es mal so geht so war. Aber ich habe ein Problem damit, wenn man sich so gar keine Mühe gibt, während andere gute Betriebe trotz guter Ideen und ordentlicher Küche ums nakte Überleben bangen. Mag sein, dass dies noch gut geht, da ihr im Vorteil eines der wenigen Restaurants mit Biergarten seid und da wir Freiburger*innen ein sonniges Städchen und Gemüht haben, geht das auch eine Weile noch gut....aber reicht das heutzutage langfristig um zu überleben? Fragt euch also besser ernsthaft, wie ihr das Erlebnis für den Gast wirklich rund macht, anstatt Euch zu verteidigen. Man lernt nur aus der Kritik, wenn man sie auch ehrlich annimmt. Und nein, gutes Essen muss nicht teurer werden....oft ist weniger sogar mehr....man muss nur wissen, wie man damit umgeht, ein bißchen Interesse für seinen Job zeigen und vielleicht noch einen Funken Stolz in sich tragen. Die Kritik ist ausführlicher geworden in der Hoffnung, dass Ihr sie doch nich annimmt. Wäre mir das kein Anliegen, hätte ich nur "Übel" hinschreiben können....daraus lernt ihr aber nicht.

Sehr freundliches, aufgeschlossenes Personal. Essen war lecker und das Ambiente top, man fühlt sich sehr eingeladen zu bleiben.

Sehr gute Küche. Portionen die satt machen. Nettes aufmerksames Personal. Die Decke im Gastraum ist interessant gestaltet, wie auch das Herren WC.

Ein Wirtshaus: eher ein deftiger Ausschank mit Essensangebot. Freundliches Personal, in die Jahre gekommenes Mobiliar drinnen und draußen. Das Essen war eher Imbissqualität, der Kartoffelsalat etwas matschig, die Schäufele sehr trocken, dafür alles mehr als reichlich. Den Magen vollschlagen kann man sich allemal. Wir hatten einen Goldenen Sternen erwartet.

eine der wenigen noch vorhandenen Bierkneipen in Freiburg. Es gibt hier gutes Essen und tollen Service in einem urigen Ambiente und der Biergarten ist ebenfalls schön.

Bei vollen Laden etwas laut, aber Essen und das Bier sind ein Besuch jederzeit wert. Die Mitarbeiter waren bei unseren Besuchen jederzeit freundlich.

Das Wirtshaus Goldener Sternen ist einfach klasse! Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 9 Personen gleich zwei Abende dort. Mitte April 2026. Alle haben sich über das Ambiente ( mit gemutlichem Biergarten), Service und besonders das Essen gefreut. Wir bestellten quer durch die Karte. Schnitzel, Spargel, Fisch oder einfach einen großen Salat. Alles mit Liebe zubereitet und lecker. Am zweiten Abend, einem Samstag, war der Service sehr gefordert. Aber immer gut gelaunt und freundlich. Beim nächsten Freiburg Besuch sind wir sicher wieder dort.

Insgesamt okay, kann man mal machen. Aber auch nichts, was mich von Hocker reißen würde. Ich hatte das Rinderfilet mit Pommes. Okay. Der Kellner der uns bedient hat ist etwas eigen. Auf die Art kommt auch nicht jeder klar.

Gut laufendes Wirtshaus mit umfangreicher Karte, schnörkellosem Ambiente und aufmerksamer Bedienung. Wir sind eher zufällig darauf gestoßen und waren echt zufrieden. Das Steak war perfekt, der Salat mit Pute super üppig. Einzig der Anteil an frischen Salaten könnte aus meiner Sicht größer sein. Karotten, Gurken und Weißkraut kamen als eingelegte Version, da ist mir frische Rohkost lieber. Aber das ist halt Geschmacksache. Dazu gab es leckeres Körnerbrot. Fazit: Lecker, nettes Personal und angemessene Preise - auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung wert.

Superfreundlicher Service, leckeres Essen und sehr großzügige Portionen. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an traditionellen, regionalen Gerichten. Auch Vegetarier kommen hier auf ihre Kosten. Ich kann es uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Ich habe traditionell deutsch gegessen und alle Gerichte waren fantastisch. Der Kellner sprach Englisch und war sehr freundlich. Ich möchte unbedingt wiederkommen.

Das Ambiente ist anspruchsvoll, aber keineswegs steif oder elitär.

Essen war okay. Früher war es vom Geschmack her besser. Schnitzel waren teilweise etwas zäh und die Pommes zu lange frittiert. Die Desserts waren lecker und die Portionen und Preise allgemein fair. Das Personal war sehr freundlich sowie das Ambiente. Ob es einen erneuten Besuch gibt weiß ich nicht dafür hat es etwas zu sehr nachgelassen schade.

Beim erstens mal wo wir dort gegessen haben war es gut. Diesesmal leider nicht die Pommes zu knusprig und das Fleisch zäh.

Wir sind zufällig auf dieses Restaurant am Rande der Altstadt gestoßen und hätten keine bessere Wahl treffen können. Die Atmosphäre ist warm und freundlich, und die Angestellten sind überaus nett und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war hervorragend, die Getränke sogar noch besser. Nebenbei bemerkt: Die Angestellten sprechen fließend Englisch, und das Restaurant ist elegant eingerichtet. Für uns war es definitiv die kulinarische Überraschung der Stadt, und ich kann es jedem, der in der Gegend unterwegs ist, wärmstens empfehlen.

Ich hatte Schnitzel mit Spätzle und Soße Spätzle haben nach Wasser geschmeckt. Die BRATEN Soße hat nach Kräuterwasser geschmeckt und die Rahmsoße ebenso… Leider nicht nochmal Service und Bier war in Ordnung

We had dinner here this evening. The service was outstanding. The wait staff were so friendly and welcoming. Outstanding. I had the Snitzel with a horseradish sauce and it was very good. Great beer from a local brewery in Freiburg. Really cozy atmosphere and decor. We loved our visit and again, the service here was wonderful. Highly recommend for local German Cuisine.

This restaurant was the first in a long time to offer very good and authentic German food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is located in a somewhat quieter area not far from the old town. It creates a pleasant atmosphere, and even though the decor is a bit "old-fashioned," it only makes it more inviting.

Very nice inn a little way outside the old town. Lovely, quaint ambiance. Super friendly and fast service. Large selection of drinks and several beers on tap. It was busy during the week, too. So reserve a table quickly ;-) The food was okay, but I personally wasn't as impressed as the rest. I had schnitzel with spaetzle. The schnitzels are prepared fresh in the kitchen, and you can hear them. But they were perhaps cooked a bit too long for my taste. I would have liked a bit more sauce and a bit thicker. And I added a bit of salt to the spaetzle. So, not really a criticism, more my personal taste. But I would still go back anytime.

Our visit was great overall. The food was excellent, the drinks arrived quickly, and all the servers were friendly and courteous. Unfortunately (hence only one star), the owner of this restaurant got increasingly drunk. He was apparently there for personal reasons and had a bit too much to drink. As a result, he pushed the staff around and shouted at them in front of the guests. A friendly employee tried to talk to him calmly, but the owner wouldn't calm down. Finally, he shouted at us and the other guests to leave the restaurant immediately, even though we still had full drinks. Unfortunately, this is completely disrespectful and rude behavior that is unacceptable for a restaurateur. I hope the employees find something new quickly.

The old inn has a charming feel. The food is still served like home-style cooking. For example, roast pork with dumplings and a large portion of red cabbage, potato pancakes with apple compote, or spaetzle served with or without bacon for vegetarians. The prices are reasonable and not excessive. You can also order smaller portions of certain dishes.

Incredibly friendly service, super accommodating, and extremely welcoming. The ambiance is also absolutely beautiful. The food is excellent, perfectly cooked. We truly recommend it. We would come back immediately if we're in the area. There really should be more of this.

Even though there were hardly any customers, it took far too long from ordering to paying. They barely bothered us; there were six of us, and we were a nuisance to the restaurant. The food was also only averagely tasty. Conclusion: better to find a nearby pizzeria than to go there.

I still have hope, but I don't think it's going to work out anymore. It used to be really good and full here, but that was a long time ago. Now I get a check-up once a year. It's consistently at a standard level. What a shame!!!

Sunday evening, a full house, the menus were served immediately. It took 15 minutes for our drink and food orders to be taken. Both came very quickly. We sat for a long time in front of our empty plates. By then, only a quarter of the tables were occupied. The three employees were busy behind the counter. No one looked up. Only 15 guests remained in the restaurant. Wave, wave, wave. Then someone looked at us, and we were able to ask for the bill. What a shame, really. The food was very large portions, the pumpkin risotto had a great bite, but was unfortunately overseasoned, and the wine wasn't cooked enough. The potato salad consisted of 50% uncut boiled potatoes. They could definitely do better. The cordon bleu was drowning in onion juice. What a shame! Spätzle was delicious, and the tarte flambée was delicious.

I can recommend it 100 percent. The food was delicious, the portions were manageable, and the taste was delicious. The outdoor seating is very comfortable and inviting.

The ambiance is nice, the service was good, but the veal schnitzel wasn't impressive. It was tough, the sauce tasted like a packet of gravy, and the fries were too salty. It just wasn't to our taste.

Highly recommended. Nine of us went there for dinner and had a cozy spot in the beer garden. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the portions were truly generous. The service was extremely friendly, prompt, and attentive. The prices are truly reasonable for Freiburg.

The inn impresses with its friendly and courteous staff. The ambience is rustic and designed in an unusual way - really an eye-catcher. We ate asparagus with schnitzel and once with rump steak. Both were perfectly prepared. The taste of the food was excellent – ​​a real treat for the palate. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. Unfortunately, I didn't finish the steak in the end, which wasn't well received by the staff - I'm sorry about that!🥰 A real insider tip for everyone who appreciates a special flair. If I lived nearby, I would be here regularly.

It was worth walking half an hour here from the crowded old town! Everything was just right for us! Good service, delicious food and cold beer 🍺 There was also a water bowl for the dog. What was particularly pleasant was the hint that we can still order from the lunch menu at 10 to 4 if we hurry up and that the sauce for my schnitzel with spaetzle came in a separate jar and wasn't already made over it! Great job, we'll be back when we're in Freiburg!
