Highly recommended. Nine of us went there for dinner and had a cozy spot in the beer garden. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the portions were truly generous. The service was extremely friendly, prompt, and attentive. The prices are truly reasonable for Freiburg.

My husband and I walked in this restaurant as we didn’t want to go back to city center. The stuff was friendly, got a table under the tree, with cozy setting. The food were delicious and in big portions. We will definitely come back here!

Nice place for delicious dinner

The inn impresses with its friendly and courteous staff. The ambience is rustic and designed in an unusual way - really an eye-catcher. We ate asparagus with schnitzel and once with rump steak. Both were perfectly prepared. The taste of the food was excellent – ​​a real treat for the palate. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. Unfortunately, I didn't finish the steak in the end, which wasn't well received by the staff - I'm sorry about that!🥰 A real insider tip for everyone who appreciates a special flair. If I lived nearby, I would be here regularly.

It was worth walking half an hour here from the crowded old town! Everything was just right for us! Good service, delicious food and cold beer 🍺 There was also a water bowl for the dog. What was particularly pleasant was the hint that we can still order from the lunch menu at 10 to 4 if we hurry up and that the sauce for my schnitzel with spaetzle came in a separate jar and wasn't already made over it! Great job, we'll be back when we're in Freiburg!

I used to always love coming here. I find the atmosphere very rustic. The young man who served us was very nice. An older, long-haired man was very unfriendly. The quality of the food has really declined. Spaetzle was ok, I didn't find the roast pork tasty. The sauce was also very bland. But I found the salad very tasty. Would give it a 4 out of 10.

Although it was very full, a table was organized for us and we were served very quickly and received our food after an acceptable waiting time. The staff was very friendly. The food was well prepared and tasted delicious. In my opinion, the ratio between meat and side dish was wrong. For 18.90 there were just two Maultaschen, the rest of the plate was filled with potato salad, which I think is a bit inappropriate in terms of price-performance ratio. On the other hand, it's better as if there were just as few side dishes on the plate - at least that way you'll be full. I also like the "guarantee" of side dishes shown on the menu, you can apparently order additional side dishes at no extra charge. But conversely, you should first get enough sauce and meat for it and that is a clear point of criticism for me given the price.

One star is already too much, the schnitzel was tasteless, the salad was inedible and the fried potatoes were not cooked through. It makes me wonder what this chef does for a living. Never this place again

We were very disappointed that the food was worse than we had experienced in a long time! Salad not edible due to the dressing, fried potatoes extremely greasy, gravy watery and tasteless, spaetzle without any salt so tasteless, schnitzel also tasteless... it really takes away the money you paid for it!!!

The food is ok but nothing special. The prices are steep for that. Cordon bleu with spaetzle €26, too much!! A scoop of ice cream €2.80. Once and never again...

Quaint and spacious inn with an adjoining room and beer garden in the Beurbarung district of Freiburg on Tennenbacherplatz. I'm happy to come by from time to time. Mixed audience of young and old, with a full house the noise is sometimes a bit unpleasant, but that doesn't harm the atmosphere. Reservations are advantageous. The food and the price are right. The service staff are always nice and friendly, even when there is a lot of activity.

We were very surprised by the friendly staff and service. My son has a lot of food intolerances and the waitress clarified all questions with the kitchen and gave us competent advice. We have never experienced anything like this before. The food itself was also very tasty (steak exactly medium). Just great service like that. The ambience could be better, but what is more important now? We definitely liked the service and the food.

The roast pork leg has been simply delicious for years! I like it best with Brägele. But the lamb's lettuce plate is also an evening meal in itself. We walked past spontaneously and were lucky that there was a table for us. Better reserve!

Gemütliches uriges Lokal mit regionalen Speisen und Wochenkarten. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und geschmacklich sehr gut bei großen Mengen auf dem Teller. Den Punktabzug gibt es lediglich wegen dem Blick in die Küche, wo es auf dem Boden nicht sehr einladen aussah, wobei man daraus NICHT auf die Sauberkeit und Qualität des Essens schließen kann.

Very nice pub with a very nice beer garden. However, I think that the meal menu is becoming more and more simplified. At the same time, prices have increased significantly in recent years. So for me it doesn't add up anymore.

Quaint inn with wonderfully old furniture. Very nice staff. And the food (Wiener-style schnitzel with fries and gravy) was delicious. Value for money. Gladly again.

Ein echtes Wirtshaus mit traumhaftem Biergarten. Hier ist alles stimmig. Das Ambiente, der Service, das Essen, die Getränke. Es stimmt einfach alles. So geht gute bodenständige Gastronomie ohne Schnickschnack. Ich komme immer wieder und wurde nie enttäuscht, egal ob alleine, mit Familie oder mit Geschäftsfreunden. Im Goldenen Sternen fühlen sich alle wohl.

I love the homemade Maultaschen with salad

Alsatian sausage salad where the cheese is cut in the morning and ends up half dry in the salad in the evening doesn't make a good impression. I hope this was just an isolated incident.

Very nice service. Priced in the normal range. Large salad plate was a bit disappointing regarding the sauce. Potatoes with Brägele very large portion. Beer garden allows reservations in the outdoor area. Atypical for Freiburg, which is why the most beautiful tables were blocked.

We had lunch here during our visit to Freiburg. Place frequented by families/locals. Excellent service thanks to the staff who speak English. Traditional food (spatzle, schnitzle...) in truly abundant quantities; excellent beer. Adequate prices. Just outside the centre, but reachable in 10 minutes on foot. A good lunch in a beautiful place.

It's getting worse and worse here! Don't know what currywurst should taste like. Flat tomato sauce with a little curry powder on top is not a good idea. And there won't be one without a grill. We zijn op doorreis naar Italië en hebben een overnachting geboekt in Freiburg . Het hampton Hilton . Om ff iets eenvoudigs te eten hier terecht gekomen . Super bediening lekker buiten of binnen eten en nog een zeer verdienstelijke snitzel.

I only went here for a couple of beers one afternoon. It was very quiet with one 4 customers there at the time. The staff were very friendly and attentive and they had a decent selection of traditional and craft beers available.

Simple cuisine, good and very plentiful

When we came in, the waitress immediately pointed out a food sign that was right next to the entrance and that we should definitely take a look at it. We couldn't even put down our dripping umbrellas. When we asked where we could sit, we had reserved, all we got was "oh somewhere back there". The shuffling continued happily. After we sat down, the waitress came with the cards and immediately asked us if we already knew what we wanted. Umm no, we need the cards first?! She then briefly went to the table next door and came back two minutes later. A few of us then ordered something to drink, but most of us said that we weren't ready yet. Then no one came for ages, at some point we were able to order and drinks came quite quickly. The food came all at once, the starters together with the desserts. There was barely enough space on the table. The salads were carelessly slapped onto the plate from cans and the ready-made sauces were probably from the subway. Some of the main courses were cold and didn't look very lovingly prepared either. We then treated ourselves to dessert and ate it somewhere else. Nothing special in terms of ambience, very loud other guests (the restaurant can't do much about that, but when other guests pointed out whether they could say something nice, they just shrugged their shoulders, no one was interested), toilets, well . Prices have risen immeasurably. It's a shame, you used to be able to get "good German home cooking" here at decent prices (no, not dumping prices!), we were probably there for the last time.

We spontaneously got a comfortable place in the beer garden for 11 people who were with us on a guided eMountain bike tour on the occasion of a JGA. Drinks and food also came quickly and were very tasty! Very helpful staff! Hopefully again soon.
