Everything was great, it was the best restaurant where I ate Chinese food

We were late on a Wednesday evening. The food selection in town is manageable, especially in winter. Hay-Cheng was at least open until 10 p.m., or was even open at all, so we chose this restaurant. At first we were skeptical because of the Google reviews, but then we were pleasantly surprised by the store. The service is really good and so is the food. Of course there are better Chinese places, but with the thought in mind that you are in a tourist town, I think the shop is really good. We had number 28: duck with all sorts of things and a starter soup. The brown sauce in the separate gravy boat was bland, but everything else tasted great. The duck in particular was really well fried. It should be noted that 24 euros per person is already an announcement. 18.90 euros would have been enough. Overall, you can say that the price of the store is a bit steep, but still okay. vs. the local competition is still partly fair. And for me a clear plus: They have Holsten on tap. Other restaurants prefer a different brand that I don't like. About the ambience: Inside it looks like a Chinese restaurant from the 90s. We thought the Christmas decorations in the store were cute. Certainly a bit dark, but also nostalgic.

We had dishes from the lunch menu. For this price, the food was excellent and completely sufficient. The food and drinks came to the table quickly. Service was friendly. Plus the appetizer is free. I have no idea how anyone can still complain about that. We would recommend it to everyone.

The service, the food and the ambience were top. I can still only give 4 stars because as a vacationer on Timmendorfer Strand I find the prices simply too expensive.

The restaurant is definitely recommended. We were able to choose from a generous menu with fair prices. Got a starter, two main courses and 2 drinks for 50 euros. The food was super tasty and the service was courteous. Thank you. Would love to come back.

Completely overpriced. We asked for 20 euros for a normal portion of duck meat WITHOUT side dishes and the quality of the duck wasn't even good. Never again

The ambience of the restaurant corresponds to the style of the 90s. The quality of the food corresponds to the level of a snack bar. In this situation I would have expected a higher level. The prices are appropriate for the location, but do not correspond to the service offered. Unfortunately, our expectations of Asian cuisine, which we value very much, were not met. Overall, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Food etc. was all top. Everything is great too. I personally find it cheeky to be charged €1.50 just because you have to go to the toilet again for 10 minutes. Considering that you previously ate with 3 people for 80€. Only the portion of rice for two people is simply not enough in combination with the meat etc. that you get.

Delicious food and nice service. Even at prime time we got a table for 3 people. The fried noodles and roast duck were very tasty. Plus a delicious Duckstein beer on tap.

Very nice Chinese restaurant with great cuisine in a top location. The owner and service are very friendly. The lunch dishes including starters are very tasty and absolutely reasonable in terms of price. We've been there twice this week and we'll definitely be back next week.

The guest is recorded on video as soon as they enter the restaurant. Since guests in the restaurant can watch this on a large screen, it is a violation of their rights. The location is kept dark and the walls have not seen any color for a long time. The furniture is also getting old. The guest is seated even though there are seats available. There are no placemats or tablecloths on the tables. The guest should place a drink order as soon as they take the place or accept a long waiting time. The guest must request the menu separately, otherwise the staff will overlook the guest. The drinks are watery. The food, whether it's chicken, goose or lamb, is heavily over-seasoned, so that the guest cannot tell from the taste whether they are getting what they ordered. Each guest should have rice as a side dish, which is reflected on their bill and documented in the menu. But if there are two guests, rice will only be served once. The restaurant also tries to save costs for the guest, although the prices shown for drinks and food are not inferior to a gourmet restaurant. The guest has the choice to complain, but then they are asked to leave the restaurant.

I had a very good meal there and would come back. What I found quite funny - unfortunately a few grains of rice fell on the floor. A waiter came immediately! and gathered them up so that they would not tread on each other.

Unfriendly to children the public toilet is closed. We wanted to go to the toilet there and we had to pay €0.50 per child. We didn't even ask if we wanted to eat something, we would have gladly done so. We are now avoiding this restaurant.

The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio isn't right, €9.90 for a portion of fried noodles with chicken. If I had known what the portion would be, I would have also taken the starter, which is included in the price.

I had the 102 (baked pasta) for €9.90 from the lunch menu. The food was really ok, but when I compared the taste and portion (see size ratio of the fork to the plate) with some previous plates of the same quality, I can unfortunately only give it three stars overall, sorry.

Unfortunately, price/performance is not right here. The food tastes good, but is absolutely standard "Chinese" like you get at the snack bar around the corner. Unfortunately, you then pay three times as much. The price for duck with vegetables and rice was €23 (as of 2024). For the price I would have expected that certain “something”.

After a few years we finally went there again for lunch. The staff, the ambience remain 5 stars. Of course, thanks to the many negative changes regarding VAT, inflation, increased purchasing prices, etc., the lunch dishes are no longer the same as before. The duck was no longer crispy, sliced ​​very thinly, very tasteless and only a minimal vegetable side dish, enough but a little bit to really fill you up. It's a shame - but a thank you to the operator for the friendly hospitality.

This experience was a true pleasure. The food was very good, the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was authentic. I would highly recommend eating there.

The restaurant is classic Chinese and very cozy inside. The prices are of course quite high due to the location. For the high price, I would have expected the duck to be of slightly higher quality, as it was quite tough. Otherwise great! Would come back too

Had dinner here. Prices are quite high due to the location (17.70 per main course). This wouldn't be a problem if the food had been more appealing. Fried meat and starters were relatively carelessly prepared and tasted at snack level. You can get something like this at any Chinese fast food restaurant for half the price. The staff was very friendly and the place was almost empty. Of course it's not the season at the beginning of December. All in all, unfortunately not recommended.

Klasse Restaurant Super Service und top Essen.

Das Essen ist „typisch“ deutsch-chinesisch. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Mittagstisch ist nur zu empfehlen.

Meine Freundin und ich sind zum zweiten mal hier und haben nur gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und wir wurden sofort bedient. Das Essen ist sehr sehr gut und auch genug. Gerne wieder :)

15.10.2023 Weiterhin bleibt es der Chinese meiner ersten Wahl. Immer noch gleichbleibende Qualität und Geschmack sind einer der Eckpfeiler guter Gastronomie. Sowie das abwählen von Glutamaten, die aber eh anders sind als anderswo! War Mal wieder ein toller Abend, was uns als Hundefreunde wirklich freut, dass Hunde im Lokal NICHT erlaubt sind. Kein bellen, kein teilweise streng riechende Hunde, und Hunde die vom Tisch essen bekommen. Mal abgesehen vom ewigen Streit ob westlich chinesische Küche nun authentic ist oder nicht. Seit 10 Jahren kenne ich dieses Restaurant, und in dieser Zeit liefert dieses eine wirklich tolle und gleichbleibende Qualitāt, zu sehr guten Preisen. Die Karte ist gut strukturiert, und jeder sollte etwas passendes finden. Mein Tipp, probiert die Specials und Gerichte nach Art des Hauses. Wünsche werden gerne erfüllt, ohne zu meckern. Ich wūrde aber empfehlen am Wochenende zu reservieren. Persönliche Anmerkung, die Toiletten sind sauber und gepflegt, es sollte aber mal über eine modernesierung nachgedacht werden.

Es war die reinste Abfertigung zur Mittagszeit trotz nettem Service, das Hauptgerichte stand bei der Hälfte der Vorspeise bereits am Tisch. Das Essen war bestenfalls okay, hat jedoch für mich nichts mit einem asiatischen RESTAURANT zu tun und war eher solide Imbissqualität. Das Ambiente war schön, rettet jedoch nicht den Gesamteindruck.

Das Essen Lecker aber für Wochenende sehr überfüllt und es dauert bist sie bedienen an Ausländer die sind nur an Blonden Helle Deutsche fixiert. Wir Ausländer arbeiten hart und wenn wir mit unseren Familien Essen gehen wollen auch wie die Blonden Deutschen bedient werden

Noch nie ein Chinesisches Restaurant mit so einer großen Mittagskarte gesehen. Sind über die Jahre hinweg immer wieder dort essen gegangen. Die Portionen der Mittagskarte sind mehr als okay zumal es noch eine Vorspeise gibt. Das Personal und der Chef sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Haben heute zum Abholen bestellt, klar war es preislich etwas teuerer.. wir sind ja auch nicht beim Imbiss in Berlin Kreuzberg! Das Essen hat wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt, die Portionen waren üppig sodass man sich fast ein Essen teilen konnte. Definitiv empfehlenswert, super auch das die Ente, Sauce etc. separat verpackt wurden.

Sehr umfangreiche Speisekarte, schneller, sehr freundlicher Service. Ich liebe das "Vogelnest". Die Frühlingsrolle ist sehr gut, die gebackene Hähnchenbrust sehr zart und saftig. Ich bin seit Jahren immer wieder sehr zufrieden.

Wir haben abends Ente mit Reis geholt. 22 Euro dafür ist zu hoch bei dieser Qualität. Das Entenfleisch war nicht mehr knusprig sondern eher hart. Auch sollten die Preise zum mitnehmen günstiger sein als wenn man im Restaurant isst. "Bedienung" war nett.

Super tolles Restaurant hatten keine Reservierung aber trotzdem einen Platz bekommen Karte ist sehr übersichtlich und Personal super schnell und nett. Mußten nicht lange warten da hatten wir auch schon unser Essen. Große Portion ist echt sein Geld wert. Nach dem Essen ca 250m zum Timmendorfer Strand
