Ristorante Ciao Ciao in Timmendorfer Strand

The chair was sticky, and the lasagna was very similar to one from a supermarket...the restaurant was relatively busy, which we didn't understand. The salad dressing was good, and the staff was also okay. There was no reaction to our disappointment.

Friendly staff, good service, delicious food, very child-friendly, good prices, what more could you want ☺️

We arrived at Ciao Ciao in the evening without a reservation and were seated promptly. The service was friendly. The food arrived quickly, was freshly prepared, and very hot. We were also very satisfied with the taste. The portion sizes were generous. Towards the end, the restaurant filled up considerably, so our last drink order unfortunately went to waste, for which the server apologized.

Yesterday, the two of us ate at Ciao Ciao. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The portion size was perfectly adequate for us; we were full without an appetizer. We ate in the indoor restaurant, where we found the ambiance to be very nice. We had gnocchi and pasta. The pasta and gnocchi weren't homemade, but they tasted good.

Super delicious food and incredibly friendly service. We had bruschetta, truffle pasta, pizza, and, upon request, pasta with butter and cheese for our child. We easily got a table on Sunday evening, but it was busier the following days, so it's best to reserve in advance.

A cassata is sold as a semi-frozen homemade recipe. I complained about this because it wasn't clear when I ordered that it would arrive frozen and hard. Furthermore, the flavor was bland, with no visible candied fruit (like cherries) in the mixture. The whole thing is garnished with artificially colored marzipan and artificial sugar sauces. For over €8, this is really not convincing, to put it politely. My complaint was dismissed with justification, no regrets, no goodwill. We cannot recommend this restaurant. The service loses one star because the employee who assured me it was homemade didn't say a word when she took the check: the uneaten cassata was left on the table; she didn't ask about it, seeming either embarrassed or simply indifferent. THAT is not customer-friendly service; this seems to be all about making money.

I haven't had such a good pizza in a long time. Good and friendly service. There were several servers on duty, which was appropriate, and service was quick despite the full house. A plus point is the separate takeaway area, a great solution for everyone. Very child-friendly.

We spent a lovely day at the beach today and wanted to finish off with a meal here. Unfortunately, the attendant immediately scrutinizes and checks whether you fit in with the clientele. With a dull and dismissive look, "Everything's full," when the restaurant was clearly half full, we and another couple were turned away. Tip: Look well-off.

When I'm in Timmendorf with my family, we often eat at Ciao Ciao. The staff is very friendly, and you're well looked after. The food tastes very good, no matter what you order. It's better to reserve a table in advance so you don't have to wait forever at the reception for a table to become available. The price/performance ratio is also good. We always feel very comfortable there, and the food is always delicious.

The food is delicious. You have to arrive quite early because it gets very busy.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend the food. There were two of us here. The waitress was super nice, friendly, fast, and everything you could want in service. But the quality of the food. 😫 We were very disappointed. The pizza bread (7.50 euros)... rubbery, no idea how they managed that. I've never actually been served pizza dough like that before. The salad (16.90 euros) was okay and simple, the pasta dish (17.90 euros) was again rather modest in quality. They don't seem to be playing around with the spices much. And the prices are insane, though. What a shame

I recently visited this restaurant and would like to share my impressions. Unfortunately, the food was quite salty, which somewhat detracted from the flavor. The meat was rather bland and didn't really impress me. It also took quite a while to be served, which made the experience somewhat uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I hope the restaurant will work on the quality of the food and service in the future to provide guests with a better experience.

Great restaurant for families - absolutely delicious and always happy to go back!

Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour and a half for our food. That didn't put us in a good mood, though. However, the food itself (tuna pizza & salmon tagliatelle) was absolutely delicious and we highly recommend it.

The food was excellent. The chocolate tart dessert was divine. You should make a reservation; many were sent away because it's very popular. I would say it's a must-visit if you want to go out for a nice meal. Good value for money, not cheap, but top-notch.

I can't give the food more than one star. They call themselves a pizzeria, which is a complete disgrace. You're clearly getting a frozen pizza that's immediately cold, and the taste and dough aren't worth €12. For €3.50, I wouldn't have complained, but please mark it as a frozen pizza and not charge €12 for it. NOT RECOMMENDED

This place is what I would call a fugazzi in its purest form. In the beginning of the visit, one of my smaller brothers asked for aioli and the waiter responded with an Italian accent: “My friend, we don’t serve aioli, it’s Spanish.” This built up some excitement, it felt as if the restaurant was for-real. One and a half hour later we got our food, which was pizza. The pizza had nothing to do with Italy. It was made in a pie shell and tasted like cheap plastic cheese. If you’re looking for an Italian food experience, don’t go to Ristorante Ciao Ciao. Nice people tho!

Really good food. Good value for money, and I always enjoy coming back. It's a shame it's so far from home, otherwise it would be my regular restaurant.

All in all, it's okay. The pizza and pasta are average, but the wine isn't recommended and is overpriced for its meager quality.

Authentic Italian food... pasta all dente... fresh Bolognese, delicate red sauce... simply delicious 😋 Lasagna the same. Very tasty 😋. One star deducted because the staff could have been a bit friendlier. We felt a bit rushed.

I have no idea why there are so many 5-star reviews here. The service is unfriendly and gives the impression that they don't want to serve guests. And the food: pizza tastes bland and unseasoned, and the spaghetti is a disaster (pre-packaged food is better). Sorry, I haven't had food this bad in a long time.

We visited Ciao Ciao again with a somewhat larger group. As always, the food was delicious and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, this time, everyone didn't get their food at the same time. The pizzas arrived much later. Oh well, that happens sometimes. We'll definitely be back.

What a shame! We were here today (June 26, 2025). The service was perfect. The starter was Bruschetta al Tartufo, sensational. For main course, we had Pizza Mare e Monti, incredibly delicious, and Spaghetti Bolognese, which was surprisingly bad. We (over 50) have never eaten such bland pasta and sauce. Even with pepper, salt, and Parmesan, it couldn't add any flavor. Without the Spaghetti Bolognese, I would have given it 5 stars, but it just doesn't deserve more than 0 points, which is a real shame.

I got a seat 15 minutes before closing time. The waiters were very friendly and cheerful. My Arrosto di Agnello was very tender and aromatic. The desserts were well-portioned, balanced, and delicious.

I'd say it was okay to good. The waiter was super friendly, even to our son. The ambiance—especially from the outside—could be a bit more polished. The pizza was okay—but my wife's salad, unfortunately, lacked flavor and the dressing was lacking.

We liked this restaurant so much that we chose the Ciao Ciao restaurant four nights out of our six days of vacation. It offers a good selection of delicious dishes at a very good price-performance ratio. The incredibly friendly staff deserves special mention! Absolutely fantastic, keep up the good work! I ate here with my daughter today. A small pizza for her and a regular one for me. Very friendly service. We got a table right away without a reservation. The pizzas had a great, crispy, thin base, and were very tasty. I highly recommend this place.

An Evening of Light and Shadow Overall, it was a lovely evening – the ambiance seamlessly matched the holiday mood and created a pleasant atmosphere. However, the culinary experience left much to be desired. The pizza was unimpressive, and the lasagna was quite small for the price. The service was particularly disappointing: After the meal was served, our table seemed forgotten. No questions were asked about dessert or any other requests – in the end, we had to actively make ourselves known to even pay. I would have liked to try the homemade tiramisu, but when guests are ignored like that, it gives the impression that there's no need to generate sales or even regular customers. Equally noticeable was the constant change of waiters – a certain restlessness in the service that further tarnished the overall impression. Well, I guess you can get away with that with tourists. However, I won't be visiting this restaurant a second time.

In search of a good Italian restaurant, our trip led us to Ciao Ciao. We really liked the covered outdoor area with the trees integrated into the roof. Overall, the order was quick and the food came quickly. The portions were "normal", the taste was below average for an Italian. Not a disaster, but not really good either. Little taste and spice, little creativity and no concept on the plate. So we skipped dessert and left after almost exactly 30 minutes.

Found the portion size of the lasagne to be too small. Otherwise there were plenty of tables, it was easy to find space.

Classic German Italian Restaurant. Ideal for strengthening yourself after a long day at the beach. The food is consistently delicious and at a good price, but nothing particularly out of the ordinary. But you can easily visit.

Very good Italian restaurant. The homemade noodles are very tasty. Pizza as it should be. But the absolute highlight is the dessert. We had the panna cotta with pistachio cream, wow, simply amazing. The chocolate cake with the liquid center is also great. Highly recommended.

We were at Ristorante Ciao Ciao on January 1st and January 3rd, 2025 and were immediately taken to a table both times (without a reservation) and served in a very friendly manner. The staff is very attentive and very friendly towards both children and animals, which we have observed several times. The food was brought quickly and tasted excellent. If we come to Timmendorfer Strand again, we will definitely come here again.👍🏻😋

Very tasty food, but not filling in terms of quantity, even though we usually leave something left over. The price is acceptable for the quality, but too expensive for the small quantity. Outdoor seating in the pavilion was too cool in the wind and storm despite the heater, which disrupted the ambience. Despite the justified criticism, we would recommend the restaurant because of the delicious dinner.

Unfortunately today's visit was not pleasant. The waiter was completely stressed and annoyed. The card was quickly pressed into your hand and immediately taken away again. After asking about a gluten-free dish, a gnocchi variant was offered that didn't taste good. Too much dough and it became im Just mouth a lot of mush. Pizzas were very great, but what was overshadowed was that no one cleared away and no one was approachable about the dessert menu. We then got the menu ourselves and when I spoke to the waiter, he boldly said that exercise was good. This was not professional treatment of guests and also not hospitality. Apparently guests who you have known for a long time and where the tip is right were simply more interesting. It's a shame but we won't be coming here again because of the service
