Lecker aber für das Geld wenig Fisch

Ich komme regelmäßig kann nur sagen von Anfang bis Ende alles top. Das Essen hat immer eine gute gleichbleibende Qualität das Lokal und die Terrasse sind immer sauber was will man mehr? Preis-Leistung stimmen für mich definitiv.

Sehr schönes Lokal, frische Hausmannskost und außergewöhnlich nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt

Haben über 10 Minuten gewartet und wurden komplett vom Personal ignoriert... nicht mal ein "sorry kein Tisch frei " oder ähnliches.... Sind dann woanders hin und haben bei top Service sehr lecker gegessen!

Ich habe jetzt keine Fotos gemacht aber Punkt eins es ist wunderschön dort! Für jeden ist etwas dabei und die Belegschaft ist top, alle freundlich und sehr liebevoll im Umgang mit Kindern. Hier werde ich als Mutter von einer 2 Jährigen keine Gefahr laufen, komisch angeschaut zu werden, sie lernt ja gerade erst was es bedeutet in der Gesellschaft ein gewissen benehmen an den Tag legen zu müssen. Natürlich gibt es immer mal Gäste denen es aufstößt, doch bisher hatte ich solch eine begnung hier nicht. Ja man möchte als Familie mit Kind tatsächlich auch mal ein Restaurant besuchen im Urlaub und ich bin froh, mich für euch entschieden zu haben. Danke für eure liebevolle Bewirtung, wir kommen wieder! 🙏🏻🫶🏻☝🏻

Wir kommen 1x im Jahr zum Timmendorfer Strand und essen hier am liebsten. Die Location ist toll und das Personal super freundlich. Das Essen (für mich) manchmal zu doll durch, aber das ist nur mein Geschmack. Schmeckt trotzdem sehr lecker. Macht weiter so 👍 wir sehen uns nächstes Jahr wieder.

Gemütlich, gute Speisen, Preis/ Leistung gut, nettes, freundliches Personal, man kann draußen auf überdachter, windgeschützter Terrasse sitzen.

Waren vor paar Tagen mit unserer kleinen Tochter dort und der Service war megaa zuvorkommend und Herzlich. Essen Top und vielen lieben Dank für den schönen Tag in ihrem Restaurant.

Sehr lecker, Preis - Leistung überzeugt. Wir hatten Tafelspitz mit Bratkartoffeln dazu Rote Beete, wobei die Soße im klassischen Stil und der geriebene Meerrettich jeweils separat gereicht wurde, was wir persönlich als sehr angenehm empfanden. Daher eine uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung.

Wir haben ohne Reservierung einen Platz im Separée bekommen, sind sehr nett von Katharina bedient worden und haben hervorragend gegessen.

Update 2026: Alles ist weiterhin auf Top Niveau im Filou. Wir haben das Restaurant zu unserem Urlaubsfamilien Restaurant erklärt und waren gleich 4 mal in einer Woche dort… meine Eltern sogar täglich zweimal :-). Insbesondere anzumerken ist der sehr aufmerksame Service gegenüber älteren Menschen, auf Wunsch kleinere Portionen und nach wie vor vorzügliches Essen zu angemessen Preisen, was man in Timmendorf nicht überall findet. Weiter so! Update: Wir waren gestern wieder im Filou. Nach meiner Bewertung hatte der Inhaber bereits eine Modernisierung des Gastraums angekündigt. In der Tat sieht der Gastraum nun deutlich schöner aus und das Restaurant kann auch auf weitere Räume am Abend ausweichen, wenn viel Nachfrage ist. So haben wir z.B. in dem sehr schön eingerichteten Frühstücksraum des im Gebäude befindlichen Hotels gesessen. Nun war für uns alles perfekt. Das Essen war wieder hervorragend und der Service war nach wie vor Spitze. Für uns eine absolute Empfehlung weiterhin. Das Filou an der Strandpromenade besticht insbesondere durch den unglaublich freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service. Hier wären eigentlich 6 Sterne angemessen gewesen. Unsere hauptsächlich zuständige sympathische Servicekraft hat stets geschaut, ob noch ein Wunsch offen ist. Als meine Mutter sich aus ihrer Jacke ein Sitzkissen formen wollte hat sie sofort reagiert und uns aus dem Außenbereich ein Sitzkissen gebracht. Ihre Kollegin hat sofort, nachdem uns ein Messer auf dem Boden gefallen war, ein neues Messer gebracht, alle Servicekräfte waren mega höflich. Das Essen war auch sehr gut. Ob Schnitzel oder Matjes, alles war sehr lecker. Die Preise sind nicht günstig, aber im Preisniveau des Ortes. Einzig das Ambiente passt eigentlich nicht ganz zu der Qualität des Essen und diesem Top Service. Es ist zwar ganz gemütlich, hat aber etwas von einem 90er Jahre Pub. Genau deswegen aber wichtig zu wissen. Nicht vom Ambiente abschrecken lassen, sondern einkehren und genießen.

Sehr lecker! Saßen draußen unter dem Heizstrahler und hatten auch Decken, da im April noch etwas kühl.

Sowohl für Vegetarier als auch Nicht-Vegetarier sehr empfehlenswert. Meine Freundin und ich gehen häufig und gehoben (bis 2 Sterne) essen. Sie ist Vegetarierin, ich esse gelegentlich Fleisch. Bei einer klassischen Karte hielt ich mich an das Steak, meine Freundin nahm den Salat mit gratiniertem Ziegenkäse. Mein Sonderwunsch (nur Salat und Gemüse zum Steak) wurde unproblematisch umgesetzt! SELTEN SO EIN PERFEKT GEGARTES STEAK GEGESSEN. Kein übergarter Rand, perfekt Medium. Salatdressing eine glatte Eins. Bitte hingehen. Keine Touristenfalle!!!

Heute Mittag spontan entschieden ins "Restaurant Filou" zu gehen. Es war eine ausgezeichnete Wahl! Draußen wie drinnen kann man gut sitzen. Aufgrund der Wetterlage entschieden wir uns aber drinnen zu essen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und die Kinder bekamen zur Speisekarte direkt Malsachen dazu. Die Getränke wurden schnell aufgenommen und auch gebracht. Die Speisekarte ist für groß wie klein ausreichend. Wir,als Familie, hatten alle verschiedene Gerichte bestellt. Das Essen kam zeitgleich, war reichlich und warm. Die Soßen waren z.B. separat angerichtet. Auch ein Nachtisch war noch drin und war ebenfalls kindgerecht angerichtet. Es war insgesamt ein stimmiges Ambiente, leckeres Essen und nur zu empfehlen! Preis/ Leistung absolut in Ordnung!

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr Nett und freundlich. Das Essen was eines der besten die ich jemals an der See gegessen habe. Insgesamt hat es sich die 5 Sterne verdient.

Wir haben spontan einen Tisch bekommen . Das Essen und der Service waren sehr gut. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Scharbeutz gehen wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier essen.

Das Restaurant Filou in Timmendorf hat uns positiv überrascht: Von außen wirkt es eher unscheinbar, innen ist es dagegen richtig schön, modern und sehr stimmig eingerichtet – also nicht täuschen lassen. Der Service war sehr lieb, herzlich und aufmerksam. Die Gerichte waren insgesamt sehr lecker und schmackhaft. Ein kleiner Ausrutscher war für uns das Knoblauchbrot als Vorspeise: kaum Knoblauch und etwas lieblos, kann man mehr draus machen. Dafür waren die Hauptgerichte umso besser – die hausgemachten Königsberger Klopse und der Pannfisch waren top! Unterm Strich können wir das Filou wirklich empfehlen.

Seit vielen Jahren kommen wir immer wieder gerne hier her und lassen uns mit leckerem Essen und freundlichem Service verwöhnen. Lieben Dank an Katharina, Michael und Tim, die wir stellvertretend für das gesamte Team nennen. Macht weiter so. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch bei Euch, bei dem es nach dem Essen wieder heißen wird: 2 Kaffee crema ohne Milch und ohne Zucker 🍀 ☕ 😄😘

Essen und Atmosphäre hatten uns eigentlich gut gefallen. Leider hatte unser Besuch einen bitteren Beigeschmack: Als unseren Kindern Reis auf den Boden gefallen ist, stellte der Inhaber wortlos ein Kehrblech unter unseren Tisch und ging wieder. Das empfanden wir als unangenehm und wenig gastfreundlich. Schade, denn sonst hätten wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Edit: Wie die Reaktion auf unsere Bewertung ersichtlich macht, sind Kinder hier unerwünscht. Kinder haben nun mal keinen Ausschalter, damit sie leise sind oder ruhig sitzen bleiben. Darauf unseren Kinderwagen woanders hinzustellen, hat uns übrigens NIEMAND hingewiesen. Fazit: Ihre Antworten auf unzufriedene Gäste wirken häufig eher rechtfertigend als lösungsorientiert. Dadurch entsteht für Außenstehende der Eindruck von Arroganz und fehlender Bereitschaft zur Selbstreflexion. Vielleicht wäre ein empathischerer Ton hilfreicher, um auch kritische Stimmen professionell aufzufangen. Und noch was: Von Gästen zu erwarten, dass sie heruntergefallenes Essen selbst aufkehren, wirkt auf mich nicht nur unangemessen, sondern geradezu realitätsfern. Ein Restaurant ist kein Selbstbedienungsbetrieb, sondern lebt vom Servicegedanken. Aber scheinbar kann man sich so ein Verhalten als Inhaber in einem hochfrequentierten Urlaubsort leisten.

Offenkartoffeln absolut inakzeptabel, schmeckt also unglaublich schlecht. Danach folgten 3 Stunden Bauchschmerzen. Keine Empfehlung!!

All in all, a lovely visit. The phone reservation went smoothly, but we spontaneously sat outside under a patio heater. There are plenty of blankets, and dogs are allowed outside. Drinks arrived quickly, and the servers were very prompt and friendly. My husband's and my meal (steak) was truly delicious. According to the other guests, the schnitzel and fries were rather bland and more like fast-food restaurants—but then, you can't handle such a large number of guests otherwise. The price was absolutely reasonable (€200 for 6 people), and we had a fantastic view of the promenade.

Five of us are seated at a very small, round table; we could hardly move while eating. The steak tasted of fish; we complained but were given a steak that was thickly covered in peppercorns. We have been regular customers at the restaurant for three years. When we wanted to reserve a table by phone three days later and asked for a larger table, we were told there wasn't one. We said we would get back to you and call again straight away. When we called again, we were told, "Tough luck, there are no more tables." We said on the phone that they had lost regular customers and that they could handle that. The people here treat customers very friendly; I would not recommend them. I hope that all customers who are not satisfied don't go back. The restaurant has changed since the renovation; perhaps there is new management; I would say it has been a bad run.

The food was generally delicious, but the gentleman who greeted and served us (we later learned he was the owner) had an incredibly annoying demeanor. The menu is never updated. I found a huge hair in my fries, and he didn't even apologize. I will never go back and won't recommend it to anyone. Actually: Your misleading response could affect future customers. The gentleman never apologized, and he never asked if I wanted a new portion.

We've always eaten well in Timmendorf. But this restaurant was a solid 1. Thank you very much.

For me, the food is absolutely delicious. Plenty and perfectly seasoned. I have absolutely no complaints. The service is super friendly and attentive. The prices are completely reasonable.

Food so far, good!!! What I personally don't like is the rather cold female waitress, with her braided hair and dark hair. A smile never hurt anyone, and it would certainly have a positive effect on the tip. The truly friendliest and most attentive waiter is the tall gentleman.

We stayed at Filou Timmendorfer Strand and we'll definitely be back! From the moment we arrived, we immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere is cozy, the team warm and attentive, and you can tell the passion for cooking and serving here. We had Königsberger Klopse (a kind of meatball), leg of lamb with rosemary sauce, and a children's schnitzel with potatoes for our daughter. Everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and incredibly delicious. The wine, the service, and the friendly waitress made the evening perfect. A great restaurant for couples and families. We loved it and will definitely be back!

We got a table outside, which was a decent ambiance. The heaters are standard but very bright. The service was very friendly; there was nothing to complain about. I was less satisfied with the food, however. The schnitzel with mushrooms in cream simply wasn't good enough for the price of €23.50. Overall, it was okay. The sauce with the mushrooms was okay, the schnitzel was rather small in comparison, and the fries tasted like I would make them myself in the oven. I wasn't satisfied for the price. The other dish (salmon duet), on the other hand, was very tasty, but not particularly good for the price. Overall, the service and the fish were good, but the rest was average, so unfortunately, it only gets 3 stars.

Arrogant and rude! My friends and I (there were four of us) wanted to eat there. The employee or owner saw us and said, "Pick a seat." We had already noticed that it was full outside and just wanted to ask if we could sit inside. However, since he was annoyed by our presence and wondered if we couldn't see that it was full, we left. Truly unacceptable behavior.

This restaurant is always our first stop when we're in town. Great, delicious food at fair prices. Add to that the competent and excellent service. There's nothing to complain about, but simply a thank you for the hospitality.

This was our first time at Filou—but definitely not our last. The house-cured salmon as a starter was fantastic. For the main course, the cod in panko breading and the homemade pickled beef were simply delicious. We were offered the daily specials, and changes to our orders, such as more vegetables/salad than potatoes, were accommodated. We had rump steak, Königsberger Klopse (a kind of meatball), and sauerfleisch (a kind of pork sausage). The service during the meal was also excellent. While clearing the table, a delicious dessert was pointed out, and one or two were recommended, so we treated ourselves to fresh strawberries. All in all, a very good stop. A very nice restaurant in Timmendorfer Strand. There's plenty of space both inside and outside. The beach isn't far away. The service is very attentive and friendly. The menu is very good and offers a wide selection. They even offer a lunch menu on weekends. We opted for the Pannfisch (pan-fried fish) for €26.50 and the Königsberger Klopse (fried meatballs) for €21.50. Both were very tasty and filling. The 0.5-liter Büble Hefeweizen on tap and the 0.4-liter Alster beer each cost €5.90. Highly recommended.

Good cuisine at moderate prices.

Very tasty and a nice selection of different dishes, including for children. It's not exactly cheap, but as we discovered, nowhere else in Timmendorfer Strand is that cheap.

Four of us went there for dinner. The children each received a notebook and pens, a wonderful touch! Blankets are provided, perfect for a rainy German summer. The service was also very friendly and attentive. Wait times were absolutely fine. We really enjoyed the food; we had the Timmendorfer pannfisch (pan-fish). Perhaps they should point out outside that there's a separate children's menu. We only read something about a discount for young people's portions, which would have been too much for our toddlers, and we almost moved on. Maybe we just didn't find the information. We would love to come back.

We were here for lunch. The small salmon salad was too small in my opinion. Otherwise, everything was fine. Fast service and good food. The portion size and value for money are debatable when it comes to the salad. They have a very good children's menu with coloring books and crayons. A beautiful location with a view of the beach promenade.

In the evening, eleven of us had dinner on the covered and now beautifully modernized terrace. As always, the service was excellent and extremely attentive, the food was delicious and served almost simultaneously, and all at absolutely fair prices. Filou has been a consistently good choice for decades, without the quality outliers that you often find in other restaurants in the summer.

Timmendorf's "big players" are located right next to the spa gardens. There's always something going on at Filou. The busiest hours are around 6 p.m. The service is friendly and the food is delicious. Prices are typical for a tourist hotspot.

We spontaneously wanted to hold a family celebration for about 30 guests. We received excellent advice during the organization (over the phone), and everyone was happy at the celebration itself! The service and food were excellent!

The food was good. The dishes could have used more mayo. Personally, I always find it annoying when there's not enough mayo with my schnitzel and fries. I also think the price (€23.90; as of July 2025) for a schnitzel is too high.

We actually went there twice today. At lunchtime for a piece of cake and coffee, and in the evening for a delicious meal. Both times were really great! It was relatively cool, and the heaters could have been turned on. The service staff were a little overwhelmed. At least, that's how it seemed. The food was very tasty. However, I ordered a Coca-Cola and got a Pepsi without any prior explanation. It just doesn't make sense. Otherwise, it was pretty good.

The service was friendly and tart, with a Frisian touch. Delicious food: jacket potatoes with turkey strips and herring. Large, tasty potatoes, good cream, and tender, tasty herring. We were well-fed. The good news: A complaint about a potato being only lukewarm was handled professionally. The plate came back perfect.
