For me, Haus Unkelbach is a special memory. It's simply special that the rustic atmosphere is still the same as it was 20 years ago. We sat there with my late grandmother and enjoyed the exquisite food. The absolutely outstanding cuisine is equally consistent. Even as a vegan, you'll get your money's worth with four absolutely delicious dishes. I highly recommend everyone to visit Haus Unkelbach.

Typical Cologne style. A spacious inn with a large outdoor area and traditional charm. The service is friendly, and the prices, while not particularly cheap, are probably normal for the location. I was there for a pub quiz, which was very good. However, it's one of Cologne's hotspots, especially during Carnival, and not at the absolute epicenter.

Really good service, and the food was incredibly delicious. The fried potatoes with my knuckle of pork were perfect in the brown beer sauce.

I personally had heaven and earth; it was fantastic. We were a group of six, so we had a good selection of the menu at the table, and everyone was very satisfied. Haus Unkelbach is a piece of Cologne's cultural heritage!

We were in the beer garden, which was everything you'd want. A bit of shade, a bit of sun, and a rustic decor. The food was very good. The staff was a bit thin, and it took a while for a new Kölsch to arrive. Those who wanted something else had to be patient.

Very good German cuisine. The service could be more professional. It's better not to experiment and choose typical German dishes, as the couscous in my bowl wasn't really good, more like really bad. On the other hand, the meat dishes with the fresh chanterelle mushrooms were good, so I'll turn a blind eye 😉 Prices are quite high.

A very nice Cologne brewery. We've been there several times now and have been very satisfied every time. Whether you sit inside or in the beer garden, both are cozy and the service is good. They serve typical brewery dishes, good quality, and good value for money. We'll definitely be back.

A must-visit if you're in or around Cologne. Always friendly staff and simply a cult favorite. The food is good and the beer delicious. The ambiance is very nice.

The food there is very delicious. Unfortunately, the beer garden is a bit too big, and the servers can't keep up. But these are minor things; you just need to bring some time, and then you'll have a lovely lunch or evening there.

A large restaurant serving German cuisine and a large beer garden. Haus Unkelbach is particularly busy in summer. I recommend making a reservation. The menu is straightforward, but the prices are comparatively high. It took a while to be served. The food was delicious, and the portions were generously sized. I found it annoying that smoking was permitted anywhere in the beer garden. This isn't ideal, especially for families and other non-smokers. It would be better to designate dedicated smoking areas or ban smoking altogether. I was able to pay conveniently by credit card.

We visit Haus Unkelbach several times a year with our carnival party. Great service, delicious food, and ice-cold Kölsch beer.

It was a great new discovery in our Sülz neighborhood. The beer garden between the residential buildings is very cozy. The food, typically German, was delicious. And of course, they also served Kölsch beer. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try dessert because they were short on staff. Other than that, everything was great.

Absolutely amazing was in a party of 22 for a family reunion. Wonderful food curried bratwurst with tons of frites. Definitely go there great staff. Attention was all the time. Not expensive Definitely value for money. Go and enjoy. Lekker.

We just wanted to have some food and drinks as 3 people, we were literally not allowed inside -to be more clear we got very rudely fired. There was plenty of tables free, but the waitress meant they are reserved and inside room is closed and the tables that are free wont be able to be opened, which is totally ridicilous and unreasonable. Later on an old german couple walked in and they were set immidiately. After i saw that i walked in again to ask the waiter if we can also put a chair to the 2-tables and wait for another table to be free, while i was talking to the waiter -the first waitress (black long haired young woman) i talked too said to the waiter " They are trying to walk inside again, take them out". And i was shocked, truly shocked.... Afterall i dont know why this behaviour was; was it because we were not germans or because the woman just hates her job... either case, it is unacceptable. I am sad to have an experience like this here -where i came multiple times before and where i brought my family from abroad to have dinner and we had to walk out with a very disturbing feeling.

As 3 people we were not allowed inside neither were told that we could wait to be seated. Instead we were told to go out and try ro come back maybe 30 min later with a very undermining and disturbing tone... Which would still be ok if they didnt let others inside, right after us.. totally trash, overrated and unworthy place

Yes, this time I sat outside with a few colleagues. The weather was perfect, and the service was fast and friendly. I was only briefly in danger of dying of thirst, but then a Kölsch beer arrived. The food was also satisfactory. However, Kölsch is certainly several tens of cents cheaper in other restaurants. The restaurant was completely empty that evening. It was nice that we were able to have a good conversation outside this time. At the last meeting, we were inside the building, where the general noise meant you could only talk to your immediate neighbor. Conclusion: Outside was almost perfect this time!

Today, around 4:00 p.m., despite the good weather, we weren't allowed to sit on the terrace, even though other guests were being served there. The reason given was the risk of rain – and it's just starting now: at 8:45 p.m. Since we had to travel almost 10 km, we won't repeat this experiment. And then complain about plummeting sales afterwards. Good luck with the concept...

Delicious brewery cuisine with classic dishes of top quality: fresh salads, excellent cordon bleu, and the ice-cold Reissdorf Kölsch on tap perfectly rounds it all off. The service was friendly and attentive. Unkelbach remains a firm favorite for me when it comes to rustic, honest, and delicious food.

We went to Haus Unkelbach for a drink in a small group, and it was really relaxed. Unfortunately, we didn't try the food. But the other guests said it looked and smelled wonderful.

Unfortunately, the food was just below average. Everything was a bit dry and some of it was fried too hard. The service was a bit uncoordinated... And it took a while to order. The price was OK, but not good for the quality.

Haus Unkelbach is primarily known as a venue for groups and carnival events. I was there with two people and had reserved a table in the beer garden in advance. The beer garden has plenty of space. The service is good and the food was delicious. They offer vegetarian options and, of course, Kölsch. Unfortunately, the Kölsch wasn't as good on my last visit. It wasn't cold enough and tasted a bit stale. Otherwise, this wasn't my last visit.

Yes, I can definitely recommend it. Guys, I ate a grilled pork knuckle that is second to none. The bacon was super crispy and the meat very tender. The highlight of the whole thing was the gravy, which was also great 😋. I've eaten a few knuckles in Cologne, but this one was a hit. It came with coleslaw and a Röggelchen. But you can have something else with it. The Röggelchen is enough for me. You can hardly eat it all anyway. I don't usually manage to take pictures, I'm just too hungry 😁. The service was very nice and quick. There were always a few kind words. The atmosphere was definitely rustic, as a brewery should be. I don't think wheelchair users should have much of a problem here either, as everyone is very helpful, which is just how it is with the people of Cologne. I think the price/performance ratio was OK. Crispy grilled knuckle of pork (approx. 1200g) – with rolls and coleslaw €23.90 – with fried potatoes and coleslaw €25.90. My companion had the "Käsespätzle" (€15.90) ​​with spicy mountain cheese, crispy onions, and lettuce in cream sauce. She was completely satisfied. In between, a delicious Reisdorf Kölsch beer—what more could you want?

The large, rustic restaurant invites you to linger for a while. Although the seats were no longer comfortable after about two hours. The food was exceptionally delicious, with truly generous portions! It was very brewery-like, which we loved. Unfortunately, the service was rather inattentive, so we (7 people) were often forgotten or given incorrect orders. On the other hand, the ambiance, in the heart of Cologne, is truly wonderful. You wouldn't notice that the beer garden is right on the main street; the courtyard is truly pleasant. Much of it is covered, and the noise level is very moderate! Drinks are as expensive as anywhere else. All in all, we were satisfied.

Everything was great from start to finish. Had to increase the reservation from 2 to 4 people, called and it went through without any problems. Sat at the counter table, close to Zappes😊. Great quick service. Had the beef tartare, very fresh to dress yourself, my wife had veal schnitzel, asparagus. Everything here is super delicious too. I lived in Cologne for many years, near the brewery, and used to enjoy being here. Keep it up, we'll always be happy to come back when we're in Kölle.

I had arranged to meet a colleague in Cologne at Haus Unkelbach for a typical Cologne dinner and a few Kölsch. We had a very nice evening, but unfortunately the seating at the edge was a bit uncomfortable as it was very crowded on that Monday. Eat, and Kölsch was super tasty, service was also great, fast and courteous.

The name doesn't promise what it is. The food was boring and below average compared to other breweries.

Unfortunately I didn't have a great experience with your service. In a large group we made a lot of sales last night. Which also provided a decent tip during the first payment process (cash). We then decided to order another round of Kölsch/9x. The Kölsch costs 2.40 and times 9 that would be 21.60€. Now I see in my debits that €25 has been debited from me. I really like to tip when the service is good, but tipping yourself without asking is an absolute disgrace! Even if it's only €3.40. So next time, check your payments on the EC device. Really a shame!

We always enjoyed staying at Haus Unkelbach – good food, delicious drinks and a sociable atmosphere. It was particularly nice for us to bridge the waiting time with card games or small board games while we waited for our food. Unfortunately, we were forbidden to do this today because the boss no longer wants it. It's a shame, because that's exactly what has always given our visits here a special touch. Of course we respect the house rules, but such a restriction takes away a lot of the comfort and fun for us. Unfortunately for our group of girls, this is a reason to look for a new location where socializing in any form is welcome. We are disappointed because we have always felt comfortable here.

I was celebrating carnival there and can only recommend it for next time. It was a fantastic evening.

We had our Christmas party at Haus Unkelbach today and it was my first visit here. The buffet was absolutely great and the service was attentive and quick. Since there was no à la carte today, I was unfortunately able to try the normal dishes, but there will be another visit to try out the menu.

Fair prices, good music, a nice, open-minded audience and a very good atmosphere on Rose Monday 2025.

I had a very unpleasant experience here at #Carnival: The bouncers, who are actually supposed to ensure the guests' feeling of safety, appeared unprovokedly aggressive and sometimes even verbally harassing (towards female guests) - sad, because this behavior was in almost painful contrast to the exuberant and respectful mood of the guests.

Unfortunately that was nothing. I deliberately avoided this shop on Weiberfastnacht, but still wanted to give the shop a chance on Carnival Friday. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was terribly bad, the music was way too quiet (you could hardly hear it) and there were way too many people in the store. It depends on the mood and the vibe... Is it asking too much to provide a decent music system and a DJ for €39 per ticket? There is one star for the moderate Kölsch price, even though only cash is accepted again. A rogue who thinks evil... We'll definitely look for something better for next year

Was there today on Rose Monday. How, with so many great carnival songs, you can play some titles two or three times is beyond my comprehension!?

We were there on Carnival Friday. I don't know why everyone goes there to party and spend a lot of money on tickets. It's just a bigger pub. Too many tickets were sold so it was completely full and you could hardly move. But what annoyed us the most was: Kölsch price: €2.60…. If you're going to charge such a crooked price, you should have enough change. Already with our first beer right after opening: “Sorry, I don’t have any 20 cent pieces to go out with.” This continued throughout the evening. I'm really not grumpy and the waiters deserve their tips. But as a guest you are simply, as the saying goes, taken for a ride. Why do many restaurateurs always think of Carnival: “Oh, it’s Carnival. We’re all milking now?” That doesn't have to be the case. On Weiberfastnacht, tickets were sold for €111 so you could get a flat rate for everything... I can't drink that much to enjoy the place. Sorry but that has nothing to do with Cologne Carnival!

We were there yesterday on Weiberfastnach. We first asked ourselves whether the €111 was really worth it. Spoiler: It was worth it! Top organization. There was Metthappen Currywurst Halve etc. and the Kölsch supply was also top. We will definitely come back if there is another offer like this. Thanks for the great day!

We were in the beautiful Cologne-Sülz district. We wanted to eat something and ended up at Haus Unkelbach. A brewery like there are many in Cologne. Staff friendly. Food as you would expect in a brewery. There is delicious Kölsch. You should also make a reservation there. Otherwise you only have a small time slot. But they make it possible.

There were 10 of us in Haus Unkelbach, it was very full. The food was on the table after 30 minutes. The service was great, very nice and courteous employees.

Anyone who charges 111 euros for entry to a carnival event (regardless of whether drinks are included) has long since finished carnival. I hope people don't support such usury.

Absolute favorite brewery in Cologne! I love the beer garden in summer and the small Christmas market in winter. Staff always friendly and on their toes, even when the store is full. The food is simply heavenly, great vegan and vegetarian selection, also on the seasonal menu. Recommendation: the vegan kohlrabi schnitzel in a crispy coating! Plus a portion of fries, it couldn't be better 😍 And the potato pancakes are the best I've ever eaten.

The food was great, but the shop was unfortunately often overcrowded in the summer. Otherwise great.

We have been here several times with the family for Christmas dinner. It's just one Brauhaus, you have to be aware of this: we like it. Small menu, currently with a few additional game and goose dishes. All very tasty. There’s also something for vegans. Thanks for the nice service

We were outside where special tables were set up outside before Christmas. Positive things to mention include friendly staff at the bar, electric heating under the tables and the cozy seating area in the house. Negative...too overpriced Kölsch and too dry Currywurst....

Schönes Brauhausambiente. Super aufmerksamer Service!! Essen war auch sehr lecker. Sehr gut war die Auswahl an vegetarischen Speisen. Ansonsten sehr Schnitzellastig. Gans und Wild ist toll zur Weihnachtszeit, aber ein Steak o.ä. haben wir vermisst. Was sehr schade ist, dass kein einziges Dessert angeboten wurde. Aber rundherum war es ein gelunger Abend und wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder.

Außergewöhnlich, freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Sehr leckeres und qualitativ hochwertiges Essen. 

Wir waren im Haus Unkelbach mit 7 Personen und haben dort den geselligen Teil der Weihnachtsfeier abgehalten. Das Lokal war ca zu 75 % Prozent gefüllt. Der Service war schnell und freundlich und das Essen sehr lecker. Preis Leistung stimmte auch. Ein besonderes Highlight war der eigne Weihnachtsmarkt im Hof der Gaststätte. Die Toilette waren sauber und die Reinigungskraft war sehr freundlich. Alles in allem kann ich diese Lokalität sehr empfehlen.
