Hans im Glück in München

We were guests at the hotel and didn't want to walk far after the long drive. So we went to the "Hans im Glück" restaurant downstairs. There were about 15 guests and 4 waiters standing around. We found a table in the corner. The table hadn't been wiped clean, and the waiter who was standing around said he'd be right there. We had to wait at least 15 minutes until he'd finished talking to his colleagues and brought beers to two people who arrived after us. The other staff members walked past us without any friendliness. Their customer service got a failing grade from me... Furthermore, they were inflexible when we had a special request... or wanted two glasses with a half-liter of water, which wasn't possible! The food arrived quickly and tasted good! I had the "Vogelfrei" salad, and my companion had an Oriental bowl. I would recommend a different restaurant, as Hans im Glück still has a lot to learn about what it means to provide good service and that guests aren't just there to be milked!

I've been a regular customer for years and have only ever had good experiences with the regular staff – until tonight. The two of us sat down at our usual spot upstairs, which had been approved for us after we waited at the entrance. When we went to order, a bald man with a beard came to our table and snapped at us that we had to move to the bar because there were two of us. This had never been a problem before, and the place was empty as it was just after 5 pm. When we pointed this out to him, he barely listened and said, "You don't just sit down anywhere because of that," even though, as I said, we had waited at the entrance and specifically asked if we could sit in our usual spot upstairs. We decided to leave and won't be coming back for a while – Hans im Glück usually has such a relaxed vibe, this man is clearly out of place there. I've rarely been treated so disrespectfully in a restaurant.

Very friendly service. The recommendations were great too. It wasn't exactly cheap, though 😊 but the food was delicious and dogs were very welcome.

Ordered for delivery. Two out of three items were completely wrong and delivered incorrectly.

May God forgive those who praise it. The chicken burger is very ordinary and has no taste whatsoever. The nuggets are strange, like plastic. The Caesar salad is the best of them. But it's very overpriced and not worth it. 🫠🦦

Part of the Nyx Hotel group, owned by Leonardo. We mostly stayed at Hans im Glück. Not cozy, but functional. The service and value for money were okay, nothing more. We had to wait longer than usual for our drink orders.

We were here last week and were thrilled! Our server, Amir, was very friendly and attentive. We felt completely at home in a clean and cozy restaurant. The food was great, and the cappuccino afterward was fantastic. If we ever visit Munich again, we'll be happy to come back 👍🏻

Preferably 0 stars. We were visiting as a group and had to order a drink several times before it finally arrived. The end result was that we had to pay for the drinks we ordered but didn't receive. Even then, under threat of police, etc. And the moral of the story: Don't meet up with friends at Hans im Glück.

Arrived in Munich after travelling, tired and hungry. We were recommended to come here - very welcoming. Burger and other food tasted so good, returned again the next day.

We were at Hans im Glück yesterday and were served by Janani. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and explained the menu to us very well. Our special burger requests were immediately accommodated. Despite the restaurant being full, she took her time and served us with a smile. That makes you feel truly welcome! The triple smash burger was delicious, and I highly recommend the "Paradiesvogel" cocktail. Many thanks to Janani and the team – we'll be back and highly recommend this restaurant.

I enjoy being a customer at Hans im Glück. A server named Ferdinand gave me excellent advice on the food on Hans im Glück's menu. When I travel from far away (over 250 km) and am near Munich, this is the restaurant I go to again. I highly recommend it.

I just wanted to eat – and was practically adopted. After an epic odyssey towards Munich, I arrived at Hans im Glück – half-starved, in a bad mood. Perfect conditions to find everything stupid. Well, tough luck. Ervin not only took the time to explain each burger to me in such detail as if it were a wine tasting in Bordeaux, he also gave me a mini city tour in words. Amir was no less than that, and both of them treated me as if I'd just won a VIP wristband for life. The food? Unfortunately, it was also great. No chance to get upset. Everything fresh, everything delicious, everything just the way you want it when you're actually in the mood for drama. In short: If you're in Munich, hungry, and want to get politely annoyed about how friendly and welcoming people can be – go to Hans im Glück. Ervin and Amir are guaranteed to ruin your bad mood with their coolness and passion. Now you can guess who'll be sitting here every night for the next five days. Exactly. Me.

Delicious food, very cool, burger restaurant in the hotel, no long search for a place to eat. The staff was very friendly, very attentive, and relaxed. Late in the evening at the bar, they were also in a good mood, attentive, and sometimes had a good joke. THANK YOU, it made our weekend even more enjoyable.

Great cocktails a long with burger and fries. I ordered the double smash burger with fries and ate it all. The limoncello was refreshing. Great service all around. Janani provided polite and efficient service, specifically. I will come back for some refreshing cocktails!

Good burger restaurant but the price-performance ratio is not right. Fries are too expensive. Burgers could be a bit cheaper here and there. Cocktails are also a bit too expensive. Staff are very friendly and on the ball.

Enjoyed a great burger and a cocktail in the bar, a bit pricey but the flavor of the meat and the cocktail made up for it. The only reason for 1 star deduction was the service. It was only 1 waiter in the busy evening and the waiting time wasn't the problem but it did feel like they were understaffed for that specific evening, but hey they at least did their best, I might change the review if I arrived at a better day 🙏❤️

Good food and excellent service from Amir!

There's no better place to get good vegan food quickly. I was staying at the Leonardo Hotel across the street for two days for work, and Hans im Glück was a good place to stop for a quick espresso, a delicious dinner, and a coffee on the second day. The staff here is especially great. Kudos to Chris behind the bar and Antonia in the waiting area. You're a great bunch!

The burgers were delicious, freshly prepared, and you could immediately tell they valued high-quality ingredients. 👍🏻 The service was also great! Super friendly, fast, and always attentive, without being intrusive. You don't have to wait long, whether ordering or being served, which makes the visit even more relaxing. It was okay, but not outstanding. The burger was okay, but I didn't think the sauces were quite right—it just didn't have a well-rounded flavor. The service was super friendly, though; there's really nothing to complain about. It was clean, too. Unfortunately, it was just way too loud, so it was almost impossible to have a normal conversation.

Our visit to Hans im Glück was very pleasant. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the food was fresh and truly delicious. My only minor criticism: the music was a bit loud, but the music was good. We were at the Hans im Glück nyx restaurant last night (8/8/25) around 10 p.m. and asked in advance whether the kitchen was still open. After the employee assured us that this was still possible, we looked for a table. Then a very rude employee came over and told us that next time we should come earlier and not just before closing time. He was obviously annoyed that he couldn't finish work on time. Then the two employees started arguing with each other. We got up and left. Such rude employees have no place in the restaurant industry. Never again from this place. If the service is bad, then the food can be as good as it can be.

Very slow service. The excuse was that "a lot of people came at once". Given that it was just after 12 on a weekday, I think that is a known pattern that can be anticipated, "the lunchtime phenomenon", they call it, I think. It took over 30 minutes for our lunch order of salad and chips to be served and the waiter told us the chips were cold and offered that we could wait around for a warm batch. But we were out of time and had to ask to pay immediately and bolted our food down to get back for meetings on time. W here in other countries, you might have received a discount or a freebie for waiting so long, in our case, the waiter grumbled at my friend for not tipping. In fact, we had no time to take the coffee/hot drink which was part of the lunch special. So I can't really recommend, but if, on the other hand, you like high prices, long waits and cold chips, then maybe it is right for you.

The truth is that it is very good quality, unbeatable service in a very good atmosphere where you can enjoy a good dinner and good cocktails.

We often eat at Hans im Glück, but we've never seen such tiny portions. It's a shame we didn't get full here, but the price is the same as everywhere else. The reception from the woman at the entrance was also extremely rude and unfriendly. We won't be coming here again.

I have to correct my positive review. The staff have unfortunately become very unfriendly. I've ordered takeout from other staff members many times without any problems. Today I was very rudely turned away. That was the last time I'll be at this location.

The value for money for the meal was okay – unfortunately, the same can't be said for the service. The service was slow, inattentive, and overall disappointing. In the end, the fact that no tip was left was even reacted to in a childish and unprofessional manner – as if it were a given. The fact that the waiter then complained to the customer about this is completely inappropriate. Bad luck! Hans im Glück: A few clear guidelines for staff selection and customer service would really benefit your branches, especially this one. By the way: The other colleague didn't paint a better picture – the way the neighboring table was received spoke volumes.

Hans Im Gluck and our server, Janani, are incredible! After struggling to find allergy friendly restaurants, this casual dining location went well above our expectations. Easy to read menu in German and English, published allergy information, a fun environment (love the aspen tree trunks), full bar, great background music, a lovely server, AND Fantastic food made this a great fit for our family!!!

I've lost count of how many times I've been here. I'm in Munich a lot for work, and my hotel is the NYX, so I'm here regularly. A fantastic team, fantastic burgers, and a great bar. Everything just fits perfectly here.

We arrived at 7:00 p.m., half the place was empty, and were given a very rude rant, asking what we wanted if we hadn't made a reservation. Okay, not if we weren't wanted.

Absolutely, compared to last time. I was served immediately, was able to choose my own seat, and the service was top-notch. I'll be back tomorrow...

"Small burgers only for kids!" was the answer to my question about a very small meal. It's a shame they're not willing to avoid waste. So, neither a drink nor a meal was sold. Addition: At Five Guys, you can also get a small burger without any discussion. Highly recommended.

The food was good, only the atmosphere and service/staff was mediocre. The service is very indifferent, hardly looks at you or looks at you strangely when you have a question. Because of this it was not a pleasant atmosphere to eat here. During payment the bill was presented and the ATM was put down, after which the service walks away without saying anything.

Service is below average. Unfriendly, haughty, we had to insist several times to be allowed to sit together as a group (there were 3 other tables), they ignored you and wanted to make us pay a mandatory tip (this is not mandatory and given the poor service not worth it). When we made a comment about this, they were angry and reproachful towards us instead of being open about their service. (1 waiter from behind the bar was friendly and helpful, it seemed as if he himself was being bothered by the other waiter). It is a great pity that this is how it goes as a customer of the hotel. The food is tasty and comes quickly after ordering.

We have eaten here twice so far and have another 3 nights stay at the hotel. However after the experience tonight, I am not sure we will ever eat here again. One server, called Janaki, gave us the most awful experience in our holiday so far. The restaurant was busy but there were still empty tables. JWe were made to wait 30 mins to place an order. One waiter, apparantly the manager, loudly said ‘this is not his section’ when we called out to him. When we did get served by Janaki, she went to tables that were filled after us and ignored us even longer. We complained and I think this pissed her off. She then proceeded to take revenge. My son who has ASD and is Hindu. The kids menu offers beef and vegan options. We asked to change the beef patty to chicken and were told ‘this was NOT possible’. My wife then asked if she can change her cocktail. Again we were told this was NOT possible because she had already put it through her system despite not having left our table for the order. After the meal, which was actually pretty good, my wife tried her cocktail and found it too strong. She asked another waiter if she could change it to a hot cocoa and the waiter said yes and delivered this. We then got billed for this by Janaki. This devolved into an altercation with my wife who refused to pay for it, which was agreed by her manager. She still insisted it was not possible. We left very unhappy despite an offer from the restaurant for a free cocktail as it was a spiteful experience. Did we get this because we were of Indian origin (same as Janaki’s)? This would easily have a 5 star experience except for this spiteful waiter.

The burger selection was varied. Convenience food. We were there on two days. On the first day, the burgers had been heated in the microwave (?) for too long.

The restaurant is in a great location in the hotel. The burgers today were only average, however, as the meat was very dry, there was (too) little sauce on the burgers, and the brioche buns were dark and hard. The fries, however, were delicious, and the cheddar cream with them was highly recommended. The free sauces at the table were excellent, as always. But overall, "Hans im Glück" could really do more.

From an American perspective they make a pretty good Hamburger/Cheeseburger. It's also a pretty extensive menu so you should be abel to please most pallets. They also have menus available in English. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

The burgers were very good but there was too much sauce with the side salad. The cocktails but we couldn't enjoy the aperitif because the dishes arrived almost at the same time. The service was not really good, not warm and no smile. We waited for the bill for almost an hour after asking for it several times. A bar employee allowed himself to burp right next to us while we were eating. Despite the good food we will not return there.
