Excellent food and service...all wonderful

A very nice restaurant with a peaceful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and attentive to guests' needs. The food is also delicious and the portions are perfect!

Personally, we find it too dark here. The service is really good. Unfortunately, I have to say the food wasn't what I expected. The menu called for lamb with broad beans, and I got a leg of lamb. It tasted okay. My husband ordered a skewered meat with vegetables. Lots of vegetables, not much meat. There were only three pieces in total. Since it's a small restaurant, seating is very tight.

I went here with a friend. The price is very expensive compared to the quality. As well as the service. Maybe because of cultural differences, my friend's lamb stew. Only tried 1-2 pieces. Mine was a little better. But out of politeness, we tried to eat 1/2-3/4 of our portion. I probably won't come back to this restaurant. And I don't recommend it either.

I had a giros here, but unfortunately it was much too salty and oily. I also ordered mint tea, expecting a fresh herbal tea, and the mint tea was just a ready-made tea bag instead of fresh herbal tea. We also waited almost an hour for our food. The staff were polite, but overall the experience wasn’t great.

Today I was at the Goldener Stern with my three-year-old daughter and politely asked if she could use the restroom for a moment. The waitress replied that we should use the portable toilet around the corner – but the line there was very long. When I explained that my child urgently needed to go to the restroom, I received the response: "That's not my problem. Too bad, then go away." I've never experienced anything like this before. I find it absolutely inhumane and unfriendly to turn away a small child like that. One thing is clear to me: I will definitely not go there again.

We held our Christmas party at the Goldener Stern in Heidelberg and were thoroughly satisfied. The delicious Greek food was a real highlight – fresh, flavorful, and lovingly prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very cozy. We all felt well looked after and can highly recommend the restaurant for celebrations of any kind.

A truly fantastic restaurant. It's become our favorite in Heidelberg. We recommend it to everyone. The food is absolutely delicious 😋. The portions are always very generous. The prices are absolutely fair. It's truly incomparable to any other restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff is very friendly.

Well, it's actually a great restaurant. Unfortunately, my food was forgotten. My son waited to eat, but nothing came. I then reported it, they apologized, and then I had to wait a long time again. By then I was full from the garlic bread and tzatziki, and my son's food was cold. When it came to the bill, I was overcharged by 8.50 euros 👍 so I went in and spoke to the ladies. They apologized and said I was alone, I got the 8.50 euros back, and I was supposed to be fobbed off with an ouzo. No thanks. It's a good thing they make a living from tourism here and not in some village somewhere. Everything is just right: clean, delicious, and friendly.

The food was great (I suggest the grilled feta!) and the staff was very skilled and friendly.

We ate at the Golden Stern restaurant – everything was delicious. The food arrived on time and hot. Kudos to the chef and the entire staff. I highly recommend it!

3 Years ago I was here, I reviewed it 5 stars. When we visited again the service was a lot worse same goes for the food. Didn’t get what we ordered.. sad but true this place didn’t age well

We ate on the terrace in front of the restaurant. The kebabs were really excellent and the waitresses were pleasant. A good place.

The waitress speaks Italian and gives very good advice. Excellent food. We ate very well. The price is cheap, but the food is quality.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Heidelberg

The Goldener Stern is a charming, rustic restaurant with a very welcoming owner and exceptionally friendly service. The food is delicious; everything is simply wonderful! I've been a regular for 30 years.

Yesterday, five of us (two children and three adults) ate at this restaurant at 7 p.m. The drinks came quickly, but we had to wait a very long time for the food. We had to wait an hour for the salads (which came with the main course), which didn't taste good. Even seasoning them with salt and pepper didn't improve the flavor. The main course arrived about 15 minutes after the salad. The main course, on the other hand, was okay, but by then we were extremely hungry. When we commented that the food was taking a long time, we were told that only two people would be in the kitchen. We informed the staff that advance notice would have been appreciated, as they could then decide whether to accept the extra time or look for another restaurant. The smell in the restroom is unpleasant and reminiscent of a smoker's apartment. Even the air freshener provided, of which there is plenty, can't mask this odor. We won't be returning.

The food was delicious. Top Greek food. Friendly staff. The chef came out himself to ask questions. Chicken gyro.

I called today and asked if there was room for two people at 6:00 PM. The response I got on the phone was so rude, and it was a total disgrace. She said to just drop by and if you're lucky, you'll get a spot. It's a disgrace.

The food was incredibly delicious, the wine was delicious, the service was very friendly, and I loved the ambiance. And finally, the ouzo... I had underestimated that one, but at least now everything's internally disinfected again.

A real insider tip! The Goldener Stern impressed us across the board. The ambiance is warm and cozy, the service attentive and friendly. The food was freshly prepared and delicious – we especially recommend [insert your favorite dish here, e.g., "the venison stew" or "the homemade apple strudel"]. You can tell that attention to detail is paid to the food here. The value for money is also absolutely perfect. We'd love to come back and highly recommend the Goldener Stern!

We waited for more than 1 hour to be served. The result was a tasteless chicken doner and burnt chops. I never recommend it.

We stumbled upon it by chance and were absolutely thrilled! Friendly service, delicious food, and a lovely location on a side street!

Probably one of the best value options in Heidelberg's Old Town! The lamb skewer (see photo) is truly delicious, the service friendly, and the offerings tasty and authentic! Highly recommended, especially on warm summer evenings when eating outside! Make sure you make a reservation! 10/10 overall!

Super pleasant operators with funny conversations. We were really excited about the grilled octopus and octopus salad. Very large portions, so if you are very hungry this is the right place. Price-performance very good, service and the team very good, food very good, so 5 stars! We'd love to come back.

Absolutely brilliant quaint restaurant. We became aware of it by chance and despite the restaurant being fully booked, you made it possible for us to still get a seat. The food was really tasty, original Greek, everything fresh and perfectly grilled. Had a great evening with ouzo and fantastic food. It was the perfect end to a day in the city. The next time I come to Heidelberg, I will make a reservation two days in advance.

Mi esposa y yo cenamos aquí durante una reciente visita nocturna a Heidelberg. Visitamos brevemente el Mercado de Navidad, pero sabíamos que queríamos algo más sustancial para mi cena de cumpleaños. Paseamos por las calles hasta que encontramos este lugar griego. Fuimos los primeros en entrar, pero inmediatamente vimos que muchas de las mesas estaban reservadas. Esto nos dio una buena sensación. El menú incluía especialidades de la casa, cerdo, cordero y platos de pescado. El servicio fue muy atento. Empezamos con pulpo excelente y berenjenas fritas suavemente. Después de que ambos comimos una ensalada, mi esposa disfrutó de su increíble plato de pescado de lubina servido con papas fritas y arroz mientras yo devoraba una especialidad de cerdo llamada Platamón, que era cerdo cubierto con una salsa de crema picante con papas fritas. Ambos disfrutamos de dos copas de Chardonnay y terminamos nuestra comida con un trago de cortesía de Ouzo. Oopa es todo lo que puedo decir. ¡Qué divertida y buena comida de cumpleaños!

Very authentic family business in the middle of the old town of Heidelberg. The food was very tasty and the price was right too! Everything is a bit older, but comfortable. The owners are very warm and friendly, the food comes to the table quickly and hot. Sometimes very busy, so a reservation is recommended.

Kein kulinarisches Highlight, aber simple griechische Küche. Der Koch mag Zwiebeln - fast auf allen Gerichten etwas zuviel davon. Aber die kann man beiseite legen. Der Service ist sehr gut, aufmerksam und flink.

Yesterday the two of us had dinner with you and were completely satisfied. The food was excellent - we had the garlic bread and grilled peppers as a starter, and the chicken gyros with fries and salad as our main course. The portions were generous and the price-performance ratio was great. We would particularly like to emphasize the friendly and courteous service. We would definitely like to come back!

I visited your restaurant at the weekend because I usually have good experiences with Greek cuisine and had high expectations from your establishment. Unfortunately I have to say that my visit to your restaurant was a huge disappointment. First of all, the fish I ordered was in no way fresh, which not only affected the taste but also raised my concerns about food safety. A dish that is advertised as fresh should also live up to this claim. In addition, the staff made no effort to make our stay pleasant. The service was unfriendly and seemed to be in a bad mood, which further worsened the overall impression. A little more hospitality and service orientation could have at least saved the evening somewhat. As far as the price is concerned, it had no relation to the quality offered. I have eaten at numerous other Greek restaurants that consistently serve fresh, delicious food at a fair price. In comparison, your restaurant falls significantly short, which is a shame not only in my opinion, but also in terms of the image of Greek gastronomy as a whole. Unfortunately it wasn't worth eating with them.

Food was great. Service friendly, but a bit overwhelmed. Ambience (we sat inside because it was so hot) terrible. Very dark, shabby and old-fashioned.

I was in Heidelberg for work this week and had dinner in this restaurant. The food was quite ok but I know original Greek food differently but it was ok. But the toilet area left me a bad impression. See attached photos. I would really like to know what the kitchen looks like.

Greek food that I experienced for the first time. This is a beautiful, comfortable Greek restaurant in Heidelberg. I had never eaten Greek food before, but I ordered a few as I wanted. The food looked healthy, fresh, hearty, delicious and clean. The rich vegetables were good, too. The owners were very kind and nice. My three family visited yesterday evening and we had a little argument with the groom, so we feel very sorry for hurting the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's a shame if there were no quarrels, we would have enjoyed the food and atmosphere more leisurely for a long time. I was sorry and grateful for worrying about whether it was okay or not when I paid for it from the inside. uozo for the service was also very grateful. I can't go again because I'm only in Heidelberg for a day, but if I come back later, I'll definitely visit again. Thank you very much for the warm welcome. If you go to Heidelberg, make sure you have a delicious and fun time here~!!!

This food was amazing! We got this Place recommended by heidelberg locals and it for sure did not dissapoint! The staff was lovely and super friendly. You could feel the love when you ate the amazing food! Prices are very nice and avarage about 20€ per main dish. We had dinner with 3 people main, desert + drink for under a €100 so lovely pricing! The desert picturerd was my absolute fav and i would recommend that one!

Very good pulpo, very tasty and great value for money.

On the last visit the food was amazing. This time there was a big drop. The fried octopus was almost cold and so drowned in garlic that even as a self-confessed garlic lover I almost couldn't eat it. The Olympus platter consisted of uncrispy chicken (!) gyros, lamb chops that were far too dry and not very seasoned 'Cevapcici'. I'll probably eat there again and then decide whether it's worth coming back. I'm pretty disappointed at the moment.
