I recently visited the Knossos restaurant in Heidelberg and was truly impressed. The food was exceptionally delicious and freshly prepared, with authentic Greek flavors that you don't find everywhere. I'd also like to particularly commend the prices – they are absolutely fair and perfectly in line with the quality of the food. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere. I immediately felt welcome and well taken care of. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant for anyone who loves Greek cuisine or wants to discover it. I will definitely be back!

Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff and good, ample food. The two of us shared an appetizer. Afterwards, we had classic moussaka and three different meats in Metaxa sauce. We wanted dessert, but we were too full. We'd gladly come back anytime.

Good Greek restaurant! The only downside is the acoustics. Maybe we were unlucky and there were a lot of loud guests. Also, you should like garlic 😅

The owner is having truthful but negative Google listings removed. What's left, positive or fake? The negative listings of the past few weeks seem to be decreasing. My listing, which the owner's wife made to me and witnesses, was also removed. All dishes except gyros can be taken from the freezer and prepared. But it's a Greek restaurant, and they don't serve gyros. That's also a unique selling point.

The prices, service, and portions were top-notch. I'd go back anytime!

I had a different idea of ​​what a Greek restaurant would be like. There were no Greek staff, and the appetizer salad lacked my typical coleslaw. While the food itself tasted okay, the portions were quite small. For the first time, I didn't feel completely full at a Greek restaurant.

Wait times were terrible (>2 hours). Food was average - unfortunately lukewarm. Atmosphere was okay. Service, unfortunately, was not customer-oriented.

Absolute disappointment, never again! The entire experience was a disgrace. Even though the food was delicious, the evening was completely ruined by the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. We had to wait a whopping two hours for our food. The only "explanation" we kept getting was: "You ordered grilled dishes." Sorry, but grilled dishes shouldn't be an exception in a Greek restaurant. The staff were not only overwhelmed, but also extremely rude and disrespectful. When one member of our group politely pointed out after two hours that we needed to leave soon, the only response we got was, "Then go away." Even the delicious food at the end couldn't save such a miserable experience. If it were possible, it would give 0 stars. We will definitely never be back. Stay away from this place; there are plenty of alternatives where guests are treated with respect.

I ate here with my partner on our first day in Heidelberg. The price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. We sat outside because it was too warm inside. We were served quickly and had starters and salads. Unfortunately, we were a bit neglected when it came to the main course, but the owner apologized. In general, they were a bit confused about our orders. First, we received the wrong dishes, then the salads were reserved before the starters, and we were asked several times if we had already ordered or what was missing. All of this was overlooked considering it was very busy and you can usually wait over an hour at some restaurants. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Unfortunately very disappointed, we waited over an hour for the food, the potato chips were too salty, barely 1 tablespoon of tzatziki, we had expected much better quality based on the reviews

The food was good, the service friendly and fast, the ambience in the ugly courtyard not particularly great.

We had the Knosso plate and a chicken salad. Afterward, we treated ourselves to ice cream with chocolate sauce. We enjoyed each of these components. We enjoyed the ambiance, including the white tablecloths and soft background music.

We had a bad experience at this restaurant and posted it here as a review. As you can see, all the negative reviews were removed by a company on Google. We were contacted accordingly and should have taken legal action to keep the negative comment up. If you want an honest opinion about this restaurant, the best place to start is Tripadvisor! All reviews that weren't positive would be removed there.

Unfortunately, I don't recommend it! We were on a city break in Heidelberg and, when looking for a good restaurant, relied on Google reviews. This was a mistake in this case. The food wasn't particularly tasty, and the vegetable side dish came from a frozen package. The garlic potatoes were swimming in oil, and the outdoor area is in the back courtyard and not very appealing. A return visit is definitely not on the cards for us.

We arrived around 9:15 pm and were still warmly welcomed by the staff. The food and wine (recommended by manager) were great, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. The manager made us feel welcome and demonstrated care and friendliness toward all guests. Having recently moved to Heidelberg, I’m excited to have discovered this place and will definitely return.

Enjoyed the platter #2 for two people. A nice variety of grilled meats, with a salad and pommes frite with garlic.

Knossos is an absolute insider tip. You can sit outside without having someone constantly walk right past your plate. The service is excellent. We laughed a lot and received special recommendations. The food was of high quality and delicious. The value for money was absolutely reasonable. Our dog was also very welcome!

We ordered lamb in a lemon and herb sauce and stuffed peppers with feta cheese. What arrived was a bad running joke in the form of beef goulash in brown cafeteria sauce and a pepper stuffed with the cheapest feta cheese you'd probably find on sale. Fun fact: For allergy sufferers, this isn't an accident; it's a fire hazard. Anyone who swaps ingredients without notifying them has no place in the restaurant industry. The garlic bread? Garlic burnt beyond recognition, as if it had been spitefully grilled in a volcano. The potato chips were so soggy that they probably didn't even know they were supposed to be crispy anymore. (They were also soaked with oil like sponges, which indicates a too-cold fryer.) The "salad" was so bland and uninspiring that even a piece of copy paper would have had more flavor. And the "tzatziki"? No garlic, no character, no trace of authenticity, just a sad dill slime disguised as a sauce. Zeus, the Greek god, would have hurled a thunderbolt at this crime against culinary arts. On top of that, the whole thing arrived half an hour late. So instead of anticipating the food, there was only the frustration of waiting and, in the end, the realization: They didn't cook anything here, they gave up. Conclusion: If you want to be truly disappointed with your food, please, treat yourself. For everyone else: Save your money, save your calories, save your nerves. (The on-site photos look really great. We were all the more irritated by the food that was delivered. It had absolutely nothing to do with the pictures.)

We stumbled upon this restaurant while passing through and had a very good meal there. Even without a reservation, we got a table quickly. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly. At the end, we even got a free ouzo, and the food was very good value for money. We were pleasantly surprised by the good selection of vegetarian dishes, which isn't common in most Greek restaurants.

We're not from Heidelberg and found this restaurant via Google Maps. The outside was a bit disconcerting, but inside the restaurant was incredibly cozy and we immediately felt at home. The service was very attentive and extremely friendly. The food (we each had a skewer, one pork, one mixed, both with garlic potato chips) was delicious, and the meat was very tender. The house dressing for the salad was also delicious. A truly top-notch restaurant! Highly recommended! We would come back anytime!

I had the pleasure of dining at this Greek restaurant during my time in Heidelberg, and I can honestly say it was the best food I’ve had here. The staff were incredibly attentive, patient, and understanding, especially given the language barrier. Their kindness made the experience even more enjoyable. Now, about the food — it was absolutely incredible! The lamb cutlets and potatoes were by far the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. Every bite was full of flavor, and the quality of the dishes was top-notch. I truly can’t recommend it enough. Truly a place where you can eat excellent, authentic Greek

My colleagues and I actually wanted to go to another restaurant, but it was completely booked. By chance we ended up with this Greek guy – and what a stroke of luck that was! The innkeeper was extremely friendly, the food was really excellent, and the prices were absolutely justified for the quality. A particularly nice moment on the side: The innkeeper invited a homeless person to dinner. Even if this has nothing to do with the rating in the strict sense, it still shows what a warm person stands behind the restaurant. We'd love to come back!

The food was ok. Unfortunately there are no gyros on the menu, liver and steak are already out at 6 p.m. Rice dry and hardly any tomatoes. Service was friendly, ouzo was free. The heating was off and it was too cold for us. Wouldn't come again.

Hidden little Greek restaurant in a backyard. Found it by chance on the way back from the Christmas market. A very nicely decorated restaurant with a great team, very friendly service and a wide selection on the menu. The food came quickly and tasted great. However, it was my first Greek without gyros on the menu.

The food is really delicious and especially at very moderate prices. The restaurant is located in an inner courtyard, so unfortunately not great for sitting outside. The atmosphere in the restaurant is rather rustic. It's not mine. Nevertheless, I recommend the restaurant. Reservations urgently required, tens of people were sent away because it was simply too full. However, you only get the ouzo here after your meal. It would be typical to serve it beforehand. The service is also very nice. Unfortunately, not all drinks were available.
