Spektakulär. Nicht nur das Essen. Auch der Service war außerordentlich charmant

Das Tatar war leider drüber, hab ich leider am nächsten Tag zu spüren bekommen. Das Steak war bei den meisten gut, leider nicht bei allen, sodass die Teller teilweise wieder zurückgegeben werden mussten und nochmal gebraten wurden. Der Kellner war total drüber, irgendwann echt nervig!

Wir gehen seit Jahren im Pudel essen und sind immer sehr zufrieden. Das Essen schmeckt uns und wird nach Wunsch und gelungen zubereitet. Wir finden den Service sehr nett und man kann gut Smalltalk mit ihnen machen. Die Preise passen zur Qualität der Speisen.

Ein Besuch mit gemischten Eindrücken Unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant begann leider wenig vielversprechend: Bei unserer Ankunft gegen 21 Uhr wurden wir unmittelbar darüber informiert, welche Speisen bereits nicht mehr verfügbar sind. In einem Haus mit gehobenem Anspruch wirkt dies zu dieser Uhrzeit zumindest überraschend. Auch der weitere Verlauf ließ Wünsche offen. Weder wurde uns eine Vorspeise angeboten, noch Brot gereicht. Erst auf Nachfrage erhielt ich freundlicherweise – wenn auch eher ausnahmsweise – etwas Brot mit Olivenöl. Für meinen Mann und meinen Sohn war dieser Einstieg entsprechend enttäuschend. Der Service war zwar freundlich und durchaus humorvoll, ließ jedoch die nötige Aufmerksamkeit und Souveränität vermissen, die man in dieser Kategorie erwarten darf. Ein proaktives Eingehen auf die Gäste hätte dem Abend deutlich gutgetan. Irritierend empfand ich zudem, dass mir offenbar der teuerste Wein des Hauses empfohlen bzw. eingeschenkt wurde – ohne transparente Kommunikation des Preises. Das mag gut gemeint sein, hinterlässt jedoch einen unangenehmen Beigeschmack. Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass das Fleisch qualitativ überzeugte und auf den Punkt gegart war. Gleichzeitig wurde uns jedoch mitgeteilt, dass am Abend nur noch Portionen bis maximal 200 g erhältlich seien – eine Einschränkung, die Fragen hinsichtlich der Flexibilität der Küche aufwirft, insbesondere bei individuellen Garwünschen. Insgesamt bleibt ein durchwachsener Eindruck. Für uns war es ein einmaliger Besuch – und wird es auch bleiben. Gerade für Fleischliebhaber bieten sich in der Region deutlich überzeugendere Alternativen.

Perfekter Service von Daniel. Für so einen Mann komme ich noch 10 Male!

Ein absoluter Tipp für Nürnberg zum gemütlichen, originellen Cocktailtrinken. Gestern Abend war eine Dame an der Bar, die wirklich hervorragenden Service leistete. Freundlich, kompetent, zuvorkommend. Eine wunderbare Ergänzung zu einem wunderbaren Abend.

Tauchen Sie ein in das mittelalterliche Straßenbild Nürnbergs bei Nacht. Genießen Sie ein Steak vom Grill nach argentinischer Art in diesem Steakhaus im deutschen Stil. Wirklich köstlich! Wir entschieden uns für das Dry Ribeye Steak. Wir mussten das Gewicht selbst bestimmen; das Personal schnitt es in Stücke und wog es an unserem Tisch, um dies zu bestätigen. Während wir warteten, konnten wir uns bei Getränken unterhalten. Mein erster Eindruck vom deutschen Steak war, dass der charakteristische Wildgeschmack des Rindfleischs sehr mild war, wie bei einer gesunden Kuh. „Ein gutes Steak ist nicht gut, weil es teuer ist, sondern weil es perfekt zubereitet ist.“ Vielen Dank auch an das aufmerksame und geduldige Servicepersonal. Sie sprachen langsamer, damit wir aus Taiwan 🇹🇼 sie einigermaßen verstehen konnten.

Eins meiner absoluten Lieblings Restaurants. Ich komme seit Jahren hierher - es ist einfach meiner Meinung das beste Steak im Umkreis. 😍 Der Service auch jedes Mal ausgezeichnet und unfassbar aufmerksam.

Waren um 21:00 Uhr da Personal war super nett und höflich einfach wunderbar . Haben uns bei der Karte gut geholfen und uns beraten . Die Portionen leider konnten wir nicht viel essen aber es war trotzdem köstlich und schön . Würden immer wieder kommen . Nur wegen dem Personal … einfach mehr als 5 Stern verdient ❤️

Wir waren gestern Abend im Goldenen Pudel, allerdings diesmal nicht zum Essen, sondern nur an der Bar. Und ich muss sagen: Die Bar hat uns wirklich begeistert. Die Longdrinks waren hervorragend gemixt, die Auswahl an Whisky und Gin ist wirklich stark und insgesamt herrscht eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Ein besonderer Dank geht an den Barkeeper Jan. Er kennt sich extrem gut aus, nimmt sich Zeit für seine Gäste und berät mit echter Leidenschaft. Durch ihn wurde der Abend fast schon zu einem kleinen Erlebnis – selten so kompetenten und gleichzeitig sympathischen Service an einer Bar erlebt. Ich kannte den Goldenen Pudel bisher eher vom Essen, aber allein für einen richtig guten Drink lohnt sich ein Besuch an der Bar absolut. Und wenn Jan hinter der Bar steht, komme ich jederzeit sehr gerne wieder.

Top Laden in Nürnberg. Nette Kellnerin und gutes Essen.

Ist schon das schönste Steak House in Nürnberg. Service sehr freundlich und überaus bemüht das alles passt. Ich persönlich find die Preise heftig aber es muss ja auch edlere Läden geben. Beim Beef und Lachs Tatar hätte ich mir mehr „Pepp“ gewünscht. Nun, zum wirklich negativen: die Bedienung hat uns leider die falschen Steaks zugeordnet, d.h. mein gegenüber aß mein Steak, dementsprechend aß ich sein Steak. Auf Nachfrage bei der Kellnerin, ob sie sich sicher sei, ging sie mit leeren Händen zur Küche, kam zurück und meinte, es sei so richtig. War es leider nicht. Bei solchen Preisen darf so etwas einfach nicht passieren. Entschädigt wurden wir mit einem kostenlosen Schnaps. Ein schwacher Trost für ein 60 beziehungsweise 80 € Steak.

Goldener Pudel ist ein absolutes Muss bei jedem Nürnberg-Besuch. Hier ist alles – vom Essen bis zum Service – von höchster Qualität. Fragen Sie unbedingt nach einem Platz in dem Bereich, wo Daniel Sie bedient! Sein Service ist unvergleichlich.

Ich war am Freitag den 21.11. zum Abendessen im Goldenen Pudel: Es war ein Highlight! Das Kobe Steak wurde am Tisch gewogen, sehr delikat zubereitet und die Beilagen allen voran die hausgemachten „Mac‘n‘Cheese“ sind ein Traum. Der Service war perfekt. Großes Lob an das Kochteam und allen Beteiligten! Bitte macht weiter so. Auch mein Besuch am Freitag den, 13.02.26 war ein Highlight! Das Filet war ein Traum!

Wirklich einen Besuch wert. Bestes Steak in der ganzen Stadt und das Personal ist einfach der Hammer. Danke für diesen tollen Valentinstag. Wir hatten sogar Rosen auf dem Tisch 😍

Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, was ich von diesem Abend im Goldenen Pudel halten soll. Das Essen war wirklich hervorragend – geschmacklich auf den Punkt, schön angerichtet und qualitativ absolut überzeugend. Dafür ein großes Kompliment an die Küche. Aber der Service? Eine komplette Katastrophe. Wir haben unglaubliche 1,5 Stunden auf unser Essen gewartet – ohne nachvollziehbare Erklärung oder zumindest eine ehrliche Entschuldigung. Noch schlimmer wurde es, als wir freundlich nachgefragt haben: Der Kellner reagierte laut, genervt und schlichtweg unverschämt. Statt Verständnis oder einer Lösung gab es patzige Antworten und eine unangemessene Diskussion. Was die Situation zusätzlich verschärft: In dieser gesamten Zeit wurde uns weder Wein noch irgendetwas anderes aktiv angeboten. Es kam niemand zwischendurch an den Tisch, um zu fragen, ob wir noch etwas benötigen oder ob alles in Ordnung ist. Man fühlte sich schlichtweg ignoriert und nicht willkommen. Wir wollten sogar aktiv Wein bestellen – allerdings wurde uns zunächst zweimal die falsche Karte gebracht. Und nachdem wir schließlich die richtige Karte hatten, kam schlichtweg niemand mehr an den Tisch, um unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. So etwas habe ich wirklich noch nicht erlebt. So ein Verhalten ist absolut inakzeptabel und überschattet leider komplett die eigentlich gute Küchenleistung. Ein Restaurant besteht nicht nur aus gutem Essen – Service und Umgang mit Gästen gehören genauso dazu. Sehr schade. Unter diesen Umständen kommen wir definitiv nicht wieder.

Abgesehen von dem ausgezeichneten Fleisch, den großartigen Beilagen und dem tollen Ambiente im Goldenen Pudel waren der Service und die Beratung durch unseren Servicemitarbeitern Julia und Daniel von ganz besonderer Qualität für uns.

Beim reinkommen fühlt man sich sofort wohl. Es wird einem seine Jacke abgenommen und man wird gleich zu seinem Tisch gebracht Und man wird gleich nach einem Getränk gefragt. Kurz darauf steht es auch schon auf dem Tisch. Bei der Wahl zum Essen wird man gut beraten. Es sind alle sehr aufmerksam. Die Kellner sind immer auf Zack und ein leeres Weinglas gibt es nicht. Sie sind sehr Hinterher damit es dem Gast an nichts fehlt.

Sehr leckeres Restaurant. Phillipp's Empfehlung war sehr gut! Essen war fabelhaft! Obwohl wir keine Reservation hatten haben wir eine Super Tisch erhalten!

Wir waren am Silvesterabend beim goldenen Pudel zu Gast. Es war wirklich extraklasse und es wurde auf jedes Detail geachtet. Der liebe Jan hat uns mitgenommen auf eine kulinarische Reise. Er kann euch jede Frage aus dem Stegreif beantworten egal ob es um Fleisch geht, den Büffel der an der wand hängt oder jede einzeln ausgewählte Zutat. Er weiß wirklich 1a Bescheid über alles und ist Ultra kompetent, selten so ein Top Mann erlebt und ich war schon um den ganzen Globus Speisen. Wenn ihr in Nürnberg seid ist ein Besuch Pflicht! Vielen lieben Dank an Jan und das gesamte Team ihr seid der Hammer Kommt gut ins neue Jahr Freue mich schon auf das nächste Mal

Der Abend begann sehr gut, Ambiente schön gemacht und Service hatte uns die Karte sowie Auswahl der Speisen gut erklärt. Die Vorspeisen: Zwiebelsuppe & Lachstatar kamen sehr schnell und waren einwandfrei. Bei den Hauptgängen sowie den Beilagen muss man leider von einem totalen Reinfall sprechen. Die vom Kellner als Hausspezialität umworbenen Pommes Allumettes waren mit Fett vollgesogene und überwürzte dünne Kartoffelsticks die eher Chips ähnelten. Das Kartoffelpürre wie eine pure mehlige gekochte Kartoffel ohne Geschmack. Der Beilagensalat ertränkt im Dressing. Nun zu den zwei Steaks: Filet eine Garstufe zu roh serviert bekommen und das Dry Age Rostbeef leider geschmacklich das schwächste, welches ich bisher gegessen habe. Insgesamt leider ein sehr enttäuschender Abend für uns der sehr gut begonnen hat aber durch die Hauptgänge (in einem Steakrestaurant die Hauptsache) 185€ für 2 Personen nicht wert ist.

Der Goldener Pudel verfügt über eine interessante Weinkarte, auch wenn unsere erste Wahl an diesem Abend nicht verfügbar war. Positiv hervorzuheben sind das sehr fein abgeschmeckte Lachstartar sowie die Beilagen: bayrisches Kraut und Süsskartoffel-Pommes waren geschmacklich überzeugend und gut umgesetzt. Beim Fleisch blieb der Abend jedoch deutlich hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Bestellt wurden zwei Filets (Chateaubriand), 1×150 g und 1×200 g, mit unterschiedlichen Gargrad-Wünschen. Beide Stücke kamen klar zu durch. Das als medium servierte Filet war zäh, das bestellte medium rare lag nahe an well – gerade bei Filet ein schwerwiegender Mangel. Auf Rückfrage erklärte der Kellner, dass dies medium rare sei, obwohl das Fleisch eine gräuliche Note und keinen Saft hatte. Negativ fiel das Auftreten dieses einzelnen Service-Mitarbeiters auch bei der Weinbestellung und nach dem Hauptgang auf. Er empfahl diverse Spätburger, obwohl wir von Beginn an sagten, dass wir diese Traube nicht mögen. Fazit: Gute Vorspeisen und Beilagen, interessante Weinauswahl – aber Verbesserungsbedarf bei Fleischzubereitung, Servicefeinheit und dem Eingehen auf Gästewünsche.

Super Essen, Service war mit der beste, den 8ch erleben durfte.

Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen denn wird sind schon nach den bestellten Getränken gegangen da der Kellner total überheblich war. Ich habe es gewagt zu fragen wie das mit dem Fleisch nochmals funktioniert ( da man manches nur ab 500g z.B. bekommt) daraufhin meinte er ( in einem arroganten Ton) dass er es ja schon erklärt hätte und ich es ja selber nachlesen kann! Sorry aber bei den Preisen im Restaurant ist der Service absolut unangemessen..: als ich meinte dass wir gerne zahlen möchten war er auch noch eingeschnappt und wollt emit mir diskutieren…. Nie wieder!

Steak war nur lauwarm trotz 300 Gramm Stück. Preis/Leistung eher zu teuer. Wein rot wie weiss war sehr gut.

We walked past the restaurant and were insulted with the N-word by the employees. This behavior is disrespectful, racist, and absolutely unacceptable. This should never happen—especially not by employees of a public institution. I strongly advise against supporting this restaurant!

I didn't eat at the restaurant, but my friends were insulted with the N-word by the staff just walking by. Such racist and disrespectful behavior is simply unbelievably irrelevant, regardless of whether someone has been drinking alcohol or not. Such behavior should never be tolerated. It's a real shame that such behavior still occurs in this day and age.

Upmarket restaurant that although it’s billed as steak and seafood, is very heavily skewed to the steak. The salmon tartare was perfect, the swordfish (catch of the day) a nice change and the pike perch “fish and chips” lovely but enough to feed two! Service unobtrusive and helpful.

By far the best steak restaurant in Nuremberg! Daniel and Jan's service is amazing. From the very first minute, you feel as comfortable as if you were invited to dinner at a friend's house. Kudos! We'll be back!

I was there during the week with three friends. The service was definitely very good, the welcome was very friendly, and the food was also exquisite. Even if you walk in without any plans, you'll be well-received and given friendly advice. We had a few meat dishes that evening and dessert; the crème brûlée is also highly recommended. The price isn't cheap, but considering the service and the good quality of the meat, it's definitely fair, making it highly recommended for both private and business dining.

Great food! But the service was poor... The food wasn't delivered despite a reminder, but I was charged for it. That's completely unacceptable! When I asked about it, the answer was: "Okay, I can take it off the bill." No apology, no compensation. That was extremely unprofessional service. What a shame. The food itself was great.

The little surprises, like the white chocolate with colorful toppings to accompany the coffee, rounded off the whole experience wonderfully. The ambience was cozy, stylish, and inviting – just right for a special evening for two. In conclusion: A restaurant that perfectly combines enjoyment, quality, and atmosphere. Wir hatten einen Super Service, speziell Julia. Sie gab uns erst einmal eine Unterweisung in Steaks. Das Essen war top und der Geschmack. Einfach lecker. Deshalb Daumen hoch von uns, weiter so 👍

We enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Goldener Pudel, which already boasts the highest culinary standards – but the real reason for our enthusiasm was the remarkably competent staff. From the reception to the detailed meat consultation to the actual serving, the employees impressed us with their utmost attention, eloquent expertise, and a keen sense for the perfect moment. Our experienced waiter expertly explained the cooking levels, recommended suitable side dishes, and maintained the ideal rhythm – never intrusive, always present. In short: Guests at the Goldener Pudel experience a finely tuned interplay of first-class meat and outstanding service – an evening that masterfully combines both taste and hospitality. We would be happy to return and recommend the Goldener Pudel without reservation.

I can't think of a better steak restaurant in Nuremberg. The ambiance is modern and elegant, the chairs incredibly comfortable. The waiters even know our favorite spot by now :D A small touch we really appreciate. ;) All the staff are friendly, but one has become particularly dear to us: our favorite waiter, Daniel. He's always in a good mood and always makes us smile. For those who don't want to commit to one type of meat, there are mixed platters – perfect for tasting and sharing. The cocktails are always expertly mixed, and the wine selection leaves nothing to be desired. We always enjoy coming back! For us, it's one of the best restaurants in the city.

A thoroughly successful evening! The service was attentive, friendly, witty, and professional from start to finish – you feel welcome. The food was excellent: perfectly cooked steak, delicious side dishes, and a good wine. One small downside, or "complaining at a high level": Unfortunately, my Scotch came in a tumbler instead of a nosing glass; I should have pointed this out directly (my mistake for not doing so). Nevertheless: If you appreciate good food, attentive service, and a high-quality atmosphere, this is the place for you. We'd love to come back!

The food is of good quality! The daily variation of appetizers was delicious! In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is too high. There are countless other restaurants where the price/performance ratio and everything else is better! The service was very friendly and prompt; we were a bit bothered by the constant repetition of the same old sayings and jokes... not necessary in such an upscale restaurant. The atmosphere inside is great, but it's a shame that they chose this location in Nuremberg for such a chic restaurant. Sitting outside on a nice, warm day isn't particularly pleasant and can be tiring!

Anyone who likes meat will get their money's worth...

It's a nice atmosphere restaurant. Since it specializes in steak, they bring out each cut of meat and explain it to you. The staff was friendly, but the night I went, the entire restaurant was full, so the service wasn't smooth. Most of the dishes I ordered with the steak were delicious and great. However, the steak itself wasn't bad. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Daniel is one of the best waiters I've ever had. Always attentive and friendly. It's only because of him that I love coming here. He deserves 5 stars.

We were here for a business lunch to mark the completion of the project and were completely satisfied. The service was very good and everyone was happy with the suggestions, so there was no need to worry about what and how much to order. The food was very good and the quantity was just right. With the plates in the middle of the table that you can share, a different atmosphere is created with colleagues and customers that would not be possible with your own plates. The steaks were of course the highlight, but what particularly caught my attention were the side dishes, which were without exception very good and went very well with the steak. The fish was also very good. The bill was higher than expected at around €90-100 per person, but the employer pays that :D Personally, I would definitely come for dinner too.

Possibly the best dining experience in Nuremberg! Food, Drinks, Service. Everything amazing. We got there almost at closing and they still sat us. Server took a bit long to take our order but everything was amazing nonetheless. Try their “Dry Age Roastbeef/Entrecoté ‘japanese’” and “Chateaubriand” paired with a red wine and you will leave happy! They also made the best Old Fashioned in Germany (not easy to find a bar that makes them in Nuremberg).

Hier wollten wir einen netten Abend mit Freunden verbringen, guten Essen und lecker Getränken. Leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht, Das Personal zu selbstbewusst- überheblich-, Kritische Äußerungen nach der Abfrage werden nicht akzeptiert!! Die Qualität der Speisen ist unterdurchschnittlich- Trüffelpommes sind eine Katastrophe! Getränke sind sehr teuer und lieblos präsentiert. Preise in keiner Weise berechtigt! Schade früher eine top Adresse Heute mehr Schein als Sein !!

We ate at the Goldener Pudel with a larger group. Unlike the mixed starter selection that was first served, the anticipation was great. Unfortunately, the beef tartare also lacked taste sophistication. Contrary to the waiter's vehement assurances, the 900 gram porterhouse for three people ordered as the main course was clearly "rare" and not "medium" as ordered. A little insight would have been very appropriate here. In addition, the taste of the meat was not convincing, especially considering the price of €22/100 grams. For over 60 euros per person I expect something different. The sauces served (e.g. €6.50 for a portion of pepper sauce) were unspectacular in taste and therefore not worth their high price. The positioning of the “warming plate” on the long table was also very awkward. Instead of combining the steaks for 6 people on one platter, a separate platter in front of the eater would clearly be preferable. Nobody likes having to rely on the person sitting next to them to get a bite of meat - I find it absolutely incomprehensible why not every guest here has the pleasure of seeing their food in front of them. The side dishes are overpriced, lukewarm and rather bland. The dessert (creme brüllee) was convincing in terms of taste, and the yuzu sorbet was even very good. All in all, a tasty meal at an unjustifiably high price. The waiter was attentive but a little “over the top”. Unfortunately, the air in the restaurant was very stuffy. Unfortunately, I will personally refrain from visiting in the future.

We have visited this restaurant 3 times for business dinner but this was the last. At the entrance there was nobody to welcome us and had to hang the coats ourselves. We ordered cowboy steaks which were as hard as a boot sole and that's terrible for a 150€ dish. Only 2 or 3 waiters are available doing all the jobs (welcoming, Bar, serving etc). Returning at the hotel I realized my clothes were smelling kitchen odor. The restaurant is clearly overpriced and you can get similar meat quality at half price. Not recommended.

Hemos visitado este restaurante 3 veces para la cena de negocios pero este fue el último. En la entrada no había nadie que nos diera la bienvenida y tuvimos que colgar los abrigos nosotros mismos. Pedimos filetes de vaquero que eran tan duros como una suela de bota y eso es terrible para un plato de 150 €. Solo 2 o 3 camareros están disponibles haciendo todos los trabajos (bienvenida, bar, servir, etc). Al regresar al hotel me di cuenta de que mi ropa olía a cocina. El restaurante es claramente sobreprecio y se puede obtener una calidad de carne similar a mitad de precio. No se recomienda.

Buena elección de carne. Chateaubriand era bueno y cocinado como se pidió (raro) . Tenía una muy buena Rioja Muga Gran Reserva. El ambiente era cálido y amable. Sin embargo, el servicio fue bastante lento.

There's nothing to complain about the quality of the meat, it's just great! However, there is a star deduction for everything else. The table was a little decorated for the birthday (indicated when booking), but the waiter offered a relatively intrusive champagne without knowing in advance whether and how much it would cost. This was reflected in the bill at €8.50 per glass. The bread offered also had to be paid extra at €3.50. In my opinion, for a restaurant of this class and at these prices, at least the bread should be included in the price. Addendum from February 2023: The steaks and the ambience are still great. In my opinion, the service was unfortunately worse than on the first visit. So the waiter interrupted the ordering process and brought additional bread to the next table when he asked for additional bread. An absolute no go for me. The bill included two waters, which are standard on the table. It can happen, but our comment was initially taken extremely critically. The bread is still charged additionally, but in my opinion it should be included in the price. In summary, unfortunately only below average service.

Reservé una mesa para dos por correo electrónico a principios de diciembre y recibí confirmación del restaurante. En lugar de ofrecer una alternativa razonable, el personal sugirió que nos sentáramos en el bar, que también estaba separado del restaurante. Su actitud desdeñosa dejó claro que no les importaba si nos quedábamos o nos íbamos. Parecía que nos estaban alejando intencionalmente, tal vez para que no volviéramos a este restaurante caro que no sirve más que bistec. Frustrados, nos fuimos y buscamos otro restaurante cerca. ¡Eso resultó ser una bendición disfrazada! Descubrimos un fantástico restaurante japonés, KOKORO, que ofrece sushi y platos calientes, donde nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y disfrutamos de una comida excepcional. La experiencia fue tan excepcional que volvimos con ocho amigos para otra noche, recibiendo el mismo servicio de primer nivel y deliciosa comida. Todo sucede por una razón, y esta experiencia me mostró los verdaderos colores de Goldner Pudel. No voy a volver, y ciertamente no se lo recomendaré a nadie.

A Total Disappointment After 8 Years of Loyalty! After being a regular customer for over eight years, I expected at least basic respect when making a reservation. I booked a table for two via email at the beginning of December and received confirmation from the restaurant. However, when we arrived on January 27th, we were shocked to find that they had assigned us a table near the kitchen and meat refrigerator—completely disconnected from the main dining area. Naturally, I refused to sit there, especially since I could see multiple occupied tables inside where other two-person parties were seated. I am certain those guests hadn’t reserved before me! Instead of offering a reasonable alternative, the staff suggested we sit at the bar, which was also separate from the restaurant. Their dismissive attitude made it clear they didn’t care whether we stayed or left. It felt like they were intentionally pushing us away—perhaps so we wouldn’t return to this overpriced restaurant that serves nothing but steak. Frustrated, we left and searched for another restaurant nearby. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise! We discovered a fantastic Japanese restaurant, KOKORO, offering sushi and hot dishes, where we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed an outstanding meal. The experience was so exceptional that we returned with eight friends for another night, receiving the same top-tier service and delicious food. Everything happens for a reason, and this experience showed me the true colors of Goldner Pudel. I won’t be returning—and I certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone.

First: The atmosphere is generally very cozy and modern. Unfortunately we found it much too cold and after a certain amount of time you actually feel a bit shivering. The service is generally friendly to very friendly. (more comments on this later) The food may be better than it reads here, but we were either completely unlucky with our dish or you should definitely avoid it. First we were informed that all daily recommendations were out (Wednesday 7:30 p.m.?). Well, the card offers a lot of alternatives. At first we thought about ordering our own steak each. It probably would have been the better choice, because we definitely regretted the decision to order a porterhouse. It's nice that you can see the cut and it is weighed in front of you. This is very transparent. However, the first question marks arose after these cuts, among others, offered US Black Angus or Holstein heifers, depending on availability. Every connoisseur should know that a German steak rarely comes close to American characteristics. When we asked about this, we were told: The quality is the same. That actually raised the first question marks. But well, you don't want to question too much but first trust that the German cut should be outstanding. When asked further how one explains the price difference compared to the competition for German meat in the poodle for €22.50/100g and US prime beef, for example in the sander, for €13/100g, we were told that we couldn't answer that, but it happens Yes, it always depends on the quality of the meat. Well, the German heifer is said to be just as good as US Prime Beef at almost twice the price. That sounded interesting and despite doubts, we decided on 750g medium porterhouse with mac and cheese and fries with truffle oil. I judge the court here in bullet points: - Mac and cheese delicious - The fries tasted good but were cut far too thin (which has been criticized several times). As a result, some of them fly around and are harder to eat and also get cold very quickly - The steak wasn't really medium, but something between medium rare and medium rare with 2-3 small pieces. Since it reduces a lot of the quality if you grill it, we left it at that - Unfortunately, we had to wait for the side dishes because the steak was only lukewarm when it arrived at the table - Too laid back for our taste. The dry age flavor completely overlapped the meat flavor. Whether you like dry age or not is a matter of taste. Here, however, it was too much of a good thing. - Unfortunately, the meat itself was nothing special at all. I can get this in significantly better quality at any meat counter - Unfortunately, a fair amount of the meat was far too dry and you had to chew for a long time to get it into digestible pieces We are not the type of person to let a cut go down in price as this is not very sustainable and also unpleasant, in this case we regretted not having done so afterwards. For €177 just for the meat, I expect outstanding quality, perfectly cooked and an exceptional taste. None of this was available here and even the next day I was still annoyed that I had spent so much money on one of the worst steaks ever. We also conveyed the criticism to the waiter in a matter-of-fact and friendly manner. Regardless of this, I also reserve the right to make this criticism public because of the bitter disappointment. We were offered a schnapps or hot drink on the house as compensation, but we politely declined. Besides, this could never make up for the lack of steak. I don't know whether I'll give the poodle another chance. But I probably won't appear there again due to the overall package

Unfortunately, just average performance from a restaurant that wants to operate at a high level. The tables are way too close to each other. You involuntarily include the table next to you as a listener. Accordingly, you can hear every move the waiter makes in this small room. Tablecloths are not provided. Cutlery is directly on the table top, not even on a napkin. Glasses on our table for 4 people: wine glasses of different sizes, which a waiter himself also saw and laughed about. Water glass was broken on one side. We only noticed and complained about this after the waiter had already poured the water. The water glass was replaced, but returned to our table without water. The waiter is very loud and tries to turn every course into a circus show, which simply doesn't work given the already noted lack of space between the tables. He offers the customer the first name and without waiting for the answer, you are suddenly addressed by a stranger on the first name basis. The above circumstances might be funny in a simple restaurant. We paid a bill of €500.00 for 4 people. Here I expect a different ambience and a different service. The food is overpriced and the taste is average to below average (e.g. the homemade fries). Conclusion: The price-performance ratio is not appropriate.

We were at the Goldener Pudel on New Year's Eve and there was a New Year's Eve menu. In terms of price, the menu was absolutely fine. The service was appropriate for the restaurant. Very attentive and quick. It was quickly noted when the glass was empty and asked if anything else was wanted.

Top service and an amazing quality, the place is in a quiet area but close to the city center. The recommendations given were excellent and the food was tasty and portions were adequate. The atmosphere was at the same level, nicely decorated and pleasant to have a conversation. Parking outside is not easy but there is a parking not too far away.

All day trying to get someone on the phone to make a reservation. Was pushed away several times or the answering machine was switched on with the announcement "unfortunately you are calling outside of our business hours". The restaurant was always open when I tried it. Great service wow 😍

Sensational evening with excellent food and perfect service! We went to the Goldener Pudel for Christmas dinner with our team and once again we weren't disappointed. First class service again! All the dishes were very tasty and of great quality. Thank you for the great experience!

An absolute insider tip for steak lovers! We went to the Golden Pudel again and were thrilled every time. The service is simply outstanding – attentive, friendly and professional. You immediately feel welcome and excellently looked after. The food is simply fantastic! The steaks are perfectly prepared, juicy and of the best quality. The side dishes are also fresh and delicious. Every detail is just right here. We always enjoy coming here and can only warmly recommend this steakhouse. A culinary experience not to be missed!

Great restaurant in a great location. We were very happy with our food and drinks. I have to take one star away because we picked the restaurant specifically for seafood, but unfortunately it turned out they had no seafood, only one sort of fish. Appetizers were delicious, desserts as well. Would definitely recommend!

The reception and service were excellent! The meat was delicious, perfectly cooked and tasted great! The price is okay for the quality of the meat - 300g fillet €66 My biggest and most serious BUT, however, is that the drinks prices are not right at all. I drank a glass of red wine 0.1 with the meat... for €9.50! My partner chose a glass of white wine 0.2. The bill said €19 for this So €19 for ONE glass of wine 0.2 is cheeky. Since I know the price of the bottle, even after adding the expenses, this price is not justified. Conclusion: great restaurant with great service and high quality meat. However, it's best to just drink water 😁

Excellent quality & great service, Nuremberg's No. 1 for a reason

I made a reservation and ate there last week. The steak was really cold!!! Didn't taste good at all, which is obvious with a cold steak. As a starter we had bark tartare. Also catastrophe. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I invited my sister to dinner and of course wanted something elite. The only thing I can rate positively was the nice waiter. I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances. It was a real shame, given the price you really expected a treat... but it was nothing.. Golden Poodle... you can't get me into your store anymore...

Das Positive vorweg: Ja, Fleischqualität ist wirklich gut. Um aber in der Liga gehobener Gastronomie mitzuspielen, wirkt der äußerst selbstbewusste Service mit Hang zu Überheblichkeit und dem deplatzierten Vorschlag, sich zu duzen, etwas befremdlich. Preis/Leistung deutlich überzogen. 300gr. Rib Eye ohne alles 67,50 € grenzwertig. Der Cesars Salad hat mangels ausreichend Dressing eher einen Rohkost Charme. Zeitfenster werden wahrscheinlich mangels Buchungsnachfrage nicht mehr kommuniziert, ein paar Tische bleiben zur Prime Time am Samstagabend unbesetzt. Das wird unserer künftig auch bleiben.
