Came here several times during my stay and ordered the same thing every time, it was that good. The staff were always friendly and welcoming, and we shared a few laughs along the way. My steak was cooked to perfection each time. Highly recommend! Also they accept Apple wallet payments.

Steak Restaurant in Nuremberg We were here as a group of four on a Saturday with a reservation. Unfortunately, neither the greeting at the door from the floor manager nor the waitress at the table was friendly. The restaurant was full, and there was hardly any space at the table because the chairs were back to back. Therefore, unfortunately, we deducted a rating for the service and noise level in the restaurant, as well as the seating area. We ordered various steaks and side dishes, and the food was excellent in terms of taste and cooking. However, one wonders whether five croquettes really should cost €5.90 or whether they're cutting corners here. We also charged extra for herb butter because the waiter didn't know whether it was included when ordering. A real shame. Summary Food top-notch service flop

I've been there every now and then for trade fairs over the years, but after my visit this week, it was definitely the last time. The owner and/or chef have probably changed; previously, you could choose your dry-age, but they weren't "demonstrated" this time. The bison advertised on the website wasn't available either, and special cuts like flank aren't even available. So, a colleague and I ordered a 300g fillet steak, and mine was supposed to be medium-rare. For starters, I had king prawns wrapped in bacon. These (4) came on wooden skewers, and only 2 of the 4 were visibly wrapped in bacon, which, unfortunately, wasn't even remotely crispy. Disappointing for an 18€ starter, even though the prawns themselves were quite good. Next came the steak (with wedges), seared on both sides as usual, but while an internal temperature of 52°C was expected, my steak didn't reach 10°C. That means not just raw, but cold. The waitress I spoke to about it was completely overwhelmed by the complaint. She said she could have it cooked a bit higher – which would definitely not be possible to make it medium-rare. For €40, I would have expected a new one and asked the waitress how we could handle this. She then steamed off without a word, and my colleagues and I assumed she would reappear shortly after the matter was resolved. Far from it: I had eaten my wedges, my colleagues had finished eating, and the waitress didn't show up even after making eye contact. To add to the audacity, one has to assume that she deliberately brought the bill while I was outside smoking. And then there was the complete ignorance of her own incompetence: all prices were calculated in full, not even a side dish was omitted to compensate for the ruined steak. When asked about this, the waitress said she had offered to reheat the steak. I can only recommend to every meat lover: go to a steakhouse where they know their craft.

Well, what happened to me today was the last straw. I've never experienced such treatment. My friend and I always go here for dinner after shopping. My friend and her husband have been regulars for decades. The food is generally good, but if you have a complaint, the manager will yell at you and give you a hard time, like a stupid schoolchild, in a loud voice, in front of all the guests. In the summer, I complained about the beans with bacon, which weren't seasoned at all. The manager said, "Salt is supposed to be on the table." Today I ordered my fillet steak medium rare and received it medium. When I complained, the manager loudly yelled at me in a manner that was beyond rude. I don't normally write reviews, but what this elderly lady is doing is beyond rude. The service was very friendly and tried to defuse the situation.

As a lifelong carnivore, I can only say: the EKU Inn is a must for steak lovers. Very high-quality meat, perfectly prepared, and quick yet unobtrusive service. And what definitely needs mentioning: the ambiance! Seventies meets postmodernism, guided by Goethe's color theory. All of this in a medieval building and... it's perfect!

The food and service are really good. But the lady at the door, who greets you, immediately makes you feel unwelcome. It's a shame, because that's exactly where the visit begins. The real problem is that there's no competition in Nuremberg—otherwise, it would be over quickly.

A very pleasant and cozy atmosphere, accompanied by a friendly and attentive team. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the dishes' difference from classic German cuisine – fresh, creative, and full of flavor. The selection is large and varied, so there's truly something for everyone. A place you'll gladly return to.

Very fast staff - initially. The food was delicious - outstanding! Unfortunately, the waiter then took an extended smoke break, so we had to wait a bit... The ambiance seems to have remained unchanged for a long time - which is fine... but the restrooms... something could be done there! Parking is available in the courtyard around the corner!

The senior manager is the soul of the place. +++ The restrooms have been renovated, but the old tiles were retained (sustainable!!) and are almost up-to-date again. The food was very good. The steak was well prepared and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't particularly friendly, and the atmosphere was very unpleasant. There was no music, and we were completely alone in the restaurant. The decor isn't my cup of tea, and we had to wait a long time for the staff to return. The restaurant is highly recommended for the food, but unfortunately, not for anything else.

I've been to many meat restaurants in the region, but I can say with certainty that the quality of the meat here and how it's prepared is simply top-notch, as are the vegetables. The atmosphere is also very pleasant overall, especially the open kitchen is a real highlight. Watching the sizzling, juicy pieces of meat is truly fascinating. But... the waiters 🤦‍♂️ Honestly, they really take away the desire to even be here. If I were the owner, I would send the entire staff to a training course. This just doesn't work, those faces as if they're all forced to work in captivity. No greeting, no smile, just nothing. Everything seems forced. You can't make a good impression like that.

A classic in Nuremberg. I was absolutely won over by the attentive service and the quality of the food. The beer garden in the back courtyard is very pleasant and invites you to linger for a while. Since it was a business lunch, no pictures were taken. The only drawback is that the plumbing in the courtyard could use some modernization due to the smell of the plumbing (very old sewer connection, probably without the necessary ventilation).

We had one of the best restaurant visits in a long time. Super attentive and very friendly staff and really excellent food. It's probably worth mentioning that three of us four are vegetarians. We would have been totally happy with the truly fantastic side dishes, like baked potatoes, wedges, ratatouille, garlic bread, etc., but they also offer a vegetarian schnitzel (maybe vegan?), which we really enjoyed. The meat-eater, by the way, was also very, very satisfied with his steak – cooked to perfection and simply perfect. The chocolate cake for dessert was the crowning glory. If we ever come back to Nuremberg, we definitely want to be guests again. Well, I was here several times many years ago. And my father advised me to definitely visit the EKU again when I was in Nuremberg. And what can I say, the best advice?

Although I give 4 stars for the food, unfortunately I can only give 3 stars overall. We've eaten at EKU INN several times. We've always really liked the charm of the 70s and the good food. However, on May 11, 2025 (Mother's Day), we encountered excessive demands on the operators, which was passed on to the employees/employees. First we were “overlooked”. then we should order without reading the menu sufficiently, then no one came again? The appetizer came well before the drinks. When the main course was served, juice from the steaks dripped onto our clothes etc etc. There was a brief apology, but that was it. In my opinion, an offer to take a blazer available in the restaurant as a "replacement" for that day is subpar for a high-priced steakhouse. The very snippy communication on the part of the employee about this, as well as the boss's "first name" (?)......... not very professional.

I have to say, this was the best meat I've had this month. Fried just right medium, tender, no flax. Sauce has a nice strong flavor and not too thick or thin. Dessert was also delicious and not too sweet. I can therefore recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience!

My steak had a huge tendon so I wasn't able to eat my steak in peace as I was busy cutting through the table. When the now infamous receptionist came to us, we were just insulted and she can't operate on something like that. When I go out to eat steak, I want it in peace and without any effort. The shop itself is great but the boss makes it quite uncomfortable. Because of this, even one star is too much. Feel free to take a look at the rest of the bad reviews... coincidentally, we're all talking about the same lady :)

We have been driving from Amberg to Nuremberg to eat steak for over 30 years. Best steak, garlic bread and potatoes with sour cream. It is remarkable that the boss is still in the store, with the utmost respect. Thank you very much for the very, very good food.

Wir hatten bereits 5 Tage im voraus für zwei Person reserviert. Leider wurde uns nur ein ungemütlicher „Beistelltisch“ zwischen der ursprünglichen Bestuhlung zugewiesen. Das Fleisch ist auf den Punkt gebraten und absolut top. Leider wird dazu liebloser Fertigsalat mit Fertigdressing serviert. Man hat den Eindruck, es wird das letzte aus dem guten Namen herausgepresst und mitgenommen was geht. Schade, das EKU Inn war früher eine wirkliche Institution bei der hochwertige Lebensmittel und freundlicher Service selbstverständlich waren.

There were three of us and we each had the 400g entrecote. The cooking point was perfect. The meat quality is great. The service was, as always, courteous. For me the best steakhouse in Nuremberg. Again and again! Update: There were four of us at the table and of course we had reserved. The meat quality was good again for 3 steaks. For me, the No. 205 Endrecôte was very full of flexes. It wasn't medium rare, as ordered, but medium well. The waitress was not allowed to accept the complaint, but instead sent it to the boss. She tried to excuse herself with a lot of business and a lot of work on Saturday evening. And whether I don't want to eat the steak as it is. But then she accepted the complaint. Afterwards the waitress brought me tournetinos, not my entrecôte. I told the waitress that I didn't order that. She took the plate away again and after about 8 minutes my new steak came out perfectly. The Eku Inn now seems to be slowly getting old.

The restaurant was very full and so far everything was ok. The service was ok but stressed, in defense it was very busy. For dinner we had garlic bread and twice the No. 205 rib-eye steak with oven potatoes. The garlic bread was intentionally but unsuccessfully very oily and not at all crispy. To the steak that it. The taste was very bad, the steak was dripping with fat and was a total disappointment (we left it completely back). But the baked potato is really very good. We will come back to this steak house at some point. And hopefully leave with a good taste experience.

He has been a regular guest there for over 40 years (back then with his parents). Consistently very high quality over decades without decreasing! Ambiance from the 70s is still wonderful today! Service and friendliness as always top! Were there today! A culinary delight as always: Argentinian fillet steak and delicious salad! It's great that you still exist!

Nuremberg institution, a must for all steak lovers!

We had been given a voucher for the Eku Inn and were really looking forward to a lovely evening - unfortunately it was a big disappointment. When we first made contact, the interaction was anything but hospitable. I wanted to reschedule our reservation and was treated extremely rudely by an older woman on the phone. Her words: “You do whatever you want with us! You are all incredible!” – and then they just hung up. I've never experienced anything like this before. Since we had the voucher, we went anyway. This impression continued on site. The older lady with short hair welcomed us without a greeting or a friendly word. She responded to our “Good evening, we have reserved a table” by… leaving. Without a word! It was as if eating with them was a crime. Another waiter showed us our seats without a word and with just a gesture as if we were dogs. The table was a table for four, but we were specifically shown where exactly to sit. Very uncomfortable. About the food: There is at least one star for the fillet steak – it was actually good. But the side dishes were a disaster. The “tomato salad” consisted of a large, sliced ​​tomato (including the lid!) – without any onion or herb garnish or anything similar. Just a tomato on a plate – for an impressive 6.50 euros! The mushroom cream tasted like a ready-made sauce, and the beans with bacon seemed to have been waiting to be used for a long time. The drinks are simply placed on the table in the bottle without any service instead of being poured into the glass. In addition, the napkins are of the cheapest quality - it looks like shopping at TEDI. We don't want to go into such details here; they are simply disappointing and inappropriate for a restaurant that wants to present itself as high-quality. Overall, the price-performance ratio was simply disappointing. The prices themselves would be fine, but for what you get here - both in terms of service and side dishes - it's just not right. You don't feel welcome or well treated, and the quality of the side dishes really makes you wonder if Eku Inn isn't aimed more at tourists who come once and then never again. We used to come here many times, but after this experience we definitely won't come back. The older lady's behavior was the icing on the cake - absolutely disrespectful. It's a shame, but the Eku Inn is dead for us.

Meat is very good, hence one star. Side dishes —> frozen / finished products. Reservation management incredibly rude. Service OK but far from the kind of service you would get in a high-priced steakhouse. Paper napkins in a spring look are totally old-fashioned and everything is dusty. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right. If you want to have a nice evening in a chic restaurant, you should choose another steakhouse.

Whenever I visit Nürnberg, I atleast visit this restaurant once. Overall the food is great, the service as well as people are very friendly and price is very competitive comparing to other places. The wine selection is also good 😊 for big groups it is always advised to make a reservation in advance and during summer the garden area is open. Filet Steak 300G or Combi Platte are fully recommended!

Bestes mir bekanntes Steakhaus, wurde in 30 Jahren niemals enttäuscht! Die Einrichtung im Stil der 70er Jahre hat Charme, gefällt mir sehr gut und gehört einfach zur Tradition dazu. Was die Speiseauswahl anbelangt bleibe ich beim argentinischen Filetsteak, hier ist die Qualität des Fleisches sowie die Zubereitung seit Beginn an unverändert hervorragend. Ich habe noch keinen Besuch erlebt, an dem die Chefin nicht anwesend gewesen wäre, sie ist immer freundlich und serviceorientiert. Das Steakhaus ist eine Institution in Nürnberg und mir ist kein weiteres Lokal bekannt, mit solch einer langen Tradition bei gleichbleibender Qualität.

If you're looking for the bygone flair of the steakhouses 'Currasco' and 'Maredo' from the eighties, you've come to the right place, as the portions are just as delicious 😋. The ambience is excellent, the tables are arranged variably and offer - somewhat cramped - space. The waitresses are very friendly and the prices are very moderate - I think around 40 euros for dinner with dessert is fine. I liked it there so much that I will definitely reserve a table again next time.
